You may have noticed that I haven't been around FA for some time. Buzzy had to go away for a few months. Where you may ask? The suited who is Buzzy had to go to Antarctica for the season(not joking). I am back now. I will post some really cool pic soon.

Hi everyone. When I am not in a fursuit I am very active. I ride bicycles and run. I run and ride a lot. For the past 7 years I have been riding a century (100 miles) in the local Tour de Cure bicycle ride to benefit the American Diabetes Association and help them raise money towards diabetes research. I am collecting donations to give to the cause and have a special offer for those who would like to help out: Donate to my ride to benefit the ADA and get artwork in return! :D

I do not believe in simply asking for donations. I believe that every one who donates to causes like this should feel proud and have something to show for it.

My mate,  menei, has generously offered up her talents as an artist to provide artwork to anyone willing to contribute to the cause! What you get for your donation depends on the amount you give; the more you give, the more you get! Everyone who donates will get something! This is how it will break down:

Anyone who donates to the cause (the ADA has a minimum donation of $5.00) will receive in the mail a signed color copy one of two thank-you images  menei has drawn up specifically for this cause (she could also simply e-mail it to you if you prefer)! You can choose from an image of Buzzy dancing (which you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13235073/) or an image of Buzzy riding her Waniyetu dragon fursona (which you can see here:http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13235142/)!

Anyone who donates at least $30.00 or more will receive a full color bust or head shot badge of their character -- the badge would be mailed to you laminated and ready to go, with your character's name on it! Anyone who donates $75.00 or more will receive a full color bust or head shot badge of their character as well as a mug with the artwork and your character's name on it!

Anyone who donates $150.00 or more will receive the full color bust or head shot badge of their character, the mug with the artwork and your character's name on it, AND a fully colored, full-body, signed, high-quality print of their character (which will also be digitally e-mailed to you for your own use)!

Follow the directions to make your donation, then note me with the amount of the donation you made, what name you made it under, your mailing address, which of the two prints you would like to receive, and links to any references you have for the character you want drawn (you can also e-mail them directly to  menei if they are not online; I can provide you with her e-mail address) and  menei will get to work on your reward(s)! It's as easy as that! :D (You can also mail a check to me if you prefer; just note me for my address and make sure your check is made out to "ADA.")  menei and I have tentatively put a cap on the $30+ rewards to be given to the first 60 people to donate, but that will be removed if she is able to keep up with the workload (and we'll be keeping track of all donations so as soon as the cap is removed I'll post another journal to announce it and you'd get your rewards)! :)

As for me, I am the proud owner/caretaker of a 16+ year old diabetic cat named Macabee. He was diagnosed with diabetes in the winter of 2010/2011 and requires insulin injections twice a day, 12 hours apart at 5:00am and 5:00pm. Recently he has stopped responding to the insulin and has been going downhill in his health; we're doing everything we can to try to get his diabetes under control, but it hasn't been easy and so far has proven to be a herculean task. We remain hopeful, however, that we can eventually stabilize him before it's too late, but only time will tell. Perhaps one day diabetes research will find a cure for this condition for both humans and our four-legged furry friends. For now though, I can only cherish the time I have left with a cat who has been our friend and constant companion since I first met  menei and we adopted him together in 2003. He has been through a lot with us, overcome so many obstacles (he was severely abused by his previous owners but you'd never know it now!), and is still fighting strong in his golden years. Having to manage a diabetic cat is not the easiest job in the world -- or the cheapest (insulin is horrendously expensive!) -- but he is totally worth it, and we'd never deny him the care and love he needs to make it through this. As long as he's willing to keep fighting, we will be right there beside him! :)

I am so excited for Furnal Equinox. There are so many opportunities to have fun and meet so many awesome people.
I already have my days planned, but intend to let the spirit of the event take me where ever it may. There is even a wedding going on. I am so there. This is going to be such a great weekend.
I must warn everyone that this is my first fur convention in a suit, so I am still learning to get around. If I trip or slip just laugh along with me and point me in the right direction.
I can't wait to see you all there.
