Closing the quote form Tuesday January 27th
Posted 10 years agoAs I am just about full through June of this year, the quote form will be closed on the website starting tomorrow night.
I have sent out a plethora of quotes. If you are waiting for one, check your spam folder... for some reason they may end up in there if you are using a mass email like Yahoo or gmail.
I will re-open again on March 15th to fill completion dates in July, August and September.
We are always open for hands, feet and body commissions. As I stated before, if you need hands or feet, and I have the materials in house, I can ship them within 2-3 business days after payment.
Thanks folks!

2014, the follow up to the year of all years
Posted 11 years agoTop 5 of 2014
1. Attending Anthrocon for the first time in 11 years.
Damn that was fun. Moreso for the socialization than the actual con itself. I think we spent 75% of our time at either TenPenny or Tonic. I got to meet a few of my Australian customers and met a lot of interesting people... mostly at the bars! Also over 100 people showed up to my BC4C panel. standing room only wow.
2. Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. After BLFC in Reno, we flew to Arizona to relax with Thor's parents for a while. We took a day trip to the Grand Canyon and it was great. we even got some pics in suit.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13120860/
3. 12 of my suits went to Australia this year which led to us taking a trip of a lifetime to Melbourne in Jan of 2015 to be a special guest of
confurgence (less than 10 days away!) I've only met a few of ya at MFF and AC but am looking forward to our trip coming up shortly. Its going to be hella amazing.
4. Hiring Help Can't say how great it feels to have hired some awesome people and see them make BC4C items. I am now solely making heads... really thats all I do. OK I still have to order materials, draw up quotes, update the website etc etc but for the most part, it was a great decision to make and I am quite fortunate and thankful for that. I have been taking weekends off since October. wow.
5. MFF Can't say how cool it was to do a couple panels with Nick and Lacy. They have been my mentors in the business side of the fursuit making world whether they know it or not. Loved the BC4C group shot there, enjoyed working on registration staff, didn't care for the alarm thing but loved the cooler weather. MFF will always be my favorite con as it was my first attended in 2000.
PRODUCTION
For 2013, I completed 48 projects for customers including 21 full suits, 16 partials, 8 head only commissions and 3 various for hands and feet.
This year, BC4C completed projects for 55 customers including
29 full suits
8 partial suits
6 head only commissions
3 body commissions
10 orders for hands/feet
can't believe I made 86 heads in two years.
GOALS
Goals made a year ago for 2014
1. Get out of the house more.
I did once or twice more. I will continue to work on that.
2. Work Smarter, Not Harder.
After hiring two people and working with one other to sub out work on bodies, the smartness has arrived.
3. Improve my work.
I have made changes but will continue to make more changes to make our products and fit as good as they can be.
4. New suits for Thor and I.
Well.... Thor got Fram the lion. Im still pondering on a new one for myself. Perhaps a return of Velkrotiger.
Goals for 2015.
Lets just keep the same ones intact. cept lets go for 60 heads this year. Now that heads are all I do, I can do 5 a month. no problem.
So yah... all good things.
All of this is not possible without my awesome supporters... my customers.
Thank all of you so much. 2015 is completely going to rock.

Opening for commissions this Friday!
Posted 11 years agoBecause BC4C now has a total of 4 people working on suits, we now are able to produce 5-6 suits/month. What this means is now we can get more suits out to more people in a quicker amount of time! On December 12th, the quote page will be open on the website where we will fill a total of 16 spots for March-June 2015 completion. Fursuits are always completed on time, when promised.
Guaranteed.
Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis with a deposit made which is 30% of the quoted price. No lottery and no special picking and choosing. As long as your character fits within BC4C's style of characters, you are welcome. Unfortunately, BC4C does not make dragons or any type of horse... sorry folks. If you are a Lion type, please bring it on! I loooove making lions.
We are ALWAYS open for body commissions. Based on availability of materials, we can complete your body within 2-3 weeks. Bring it on.
No duct tape dummy is needed for your body. I will send you a list of measurements needed with highly detailed instructions on how to take each measurement. A video of how to take the measurements is coming soon!
Until the quote page opens at 12:01am on Friday, please be sure to check out our Cost Estimator on the website. This will give you a general idea of how much your suit will cost with whatever options you choose. Please keep in mind that it is an estimate only and not a hard quote. Official quotes will be sent to you listing all of the fine details, pictures of fur suggestions, completion dates available and our TOS. You WILL receive a full quote within 24 hours of the initial request.
Guaranteed.
http://bycats4cats.com/estimator/
One thing to keep in mind. We do offer Silicone paw pads for hands and feet. There is no warranty whatsoever on these as they do tend to detatch. We have tried a plethora of adhesives which sometimes work and sometimes do not. Sewing them on is not an option as it is not possible with our construction style.
We are now offering a new style of 4 fingered toony puffy style hand paws. We will be sub contracting these paws out to the wonderful Dyani of
Carolina-Critters She made puffy paws to go with her BC4C head and we were hugely impressed by them and wanted to showcase her paws as a suit option.

Welp, thats it for now. I am looking forward to hearing from you folks and can't wait until Friday!

Current State of ByCats4Cats
Posted 11 years agoThings are good here at BC4C.
At the moment we are 100% caught up and actually ahead of schedule.
For November, we have one fox head to complete then its on to December work.
My new employees Colleen and Dona are both doing great and are learning my ways fast. We have it set up where I am working on nothing but heads, Colleen handles the patterns and markings for the parts (with my final approval on design) then cuts out all of the pieces. Dona is foaming up the feet and on the sewing machine all day assembling everything. Its amazing seeing how much faster projects are being completed.
I am looking forward to attending MFF. There will be another post detailing the 2 panels I am doing as well as when and where the BC4C group picture will be. Also I will be heading to Melbourne for
confurgence in January. That should be quite cool
So things are clicking away quite cool here. I will be opening for commissions December 12th for March-May 2015 completion. So yes, that means you could get a fursuit from us in as little as 3 months.

Thanks again to everyone and more pictures will be coming soon!

Opening for new commissions on Friday December 12th!
Posted 11 years agoMark your calenders folks as we will be accepting commissions for April, May and June completion for 2015. I am staying with my tradition of never having more than 6 months booked in advance. Starting Friday, December 12th, There will be a total of 10 spots available. Once the quote form is active on the website, I will get back to you within 24 hours with a fully detailed quote showing every aspect of your commission including pictures of suggested fur options. Spots will only be held when completion of the deposit is made. Deposits are 30% of the total quoted price and are non-refundable.
After the deposit is made, not one more cent is due until you see completed pictures of your commission. Most people end up making payments over time but that is entirely up to you. I will furnish you with an online invoice where you can make payments via Debit Card/Credit Card or US checking account. With these invoices, you can view your balance due and payments made at any time. This is not through PayPal but if you wish to use PayPal, I can work with that :)
FURSUIT ESTIMATOR
As Always, I do have my Fursuit Estimator on my website. If you are looking for a general idea of how much your fursuit will cost from BC4C, check it out!
http://bycats4cats.com/estimator/
THE FURS I USE
To get an idea of where I get my fur, and so you can take a look at possibilities for your fursuit, check out:
Monterrey Mills Furs: Their materials are simply some of the best stuff out there. If your character has blacks, whites and earthtones, you are in luck.
I order these by the bolt direct from the manufacturer or by the yard from CR's Crafts located in Iowa, US
http://www.crscraft.com/products/vP.....ics&class=
Non earth tone colors: "Punky Muppet" and various other specialty furs:
https://mendels.com/
I refuse to order anything from Distinctive Fabrics and Fabric.com. Their customer service and quality of materials are sub par and I don't wish to pass on their crap to you my customers.
Thanks again for watching my page and I look forward to doling out some quotes come December.

Current State of ByCats4Cats
Posted 11 years ago* Help Found!
* Schedule of Completion
* Body Suit Commissions Open
I am still catching up with a few of you for suits and I really appreciate your patience through this time. Thank you so much.
HELP FOUND!
I have hired a full time master seamstress to work with me. Plus I have a part time assistant helping me with all of the stuff I just don't have time for. What this means is not only will I be getting caught up in a flash, but it also means that folks scheduled for down the road will be getting their suits completed sooner. As a result, I will now be moving to daytime hours working Monday-Friday + some weekend days as needed. Also my new employee Donna has a lot of experience with pattern making and costume design. We may be seeing digitigrade leg options happening down the road.
SCHEDULE OF COMPLETION
**(Disclaimer: I am sure my new full time person will work out, but for some reason she does not, what is written below may not happen. I'm fairly confident that Donna will work out.**
For those with suits scheduled for November-January, all suits will still be completed by the end of those months. For those scheduled for February-April, your suit will be completed ahead of schedule. I will email each of you individually to find out if this is a good thing for you or if we should keep the due dates where they are due to financial reasons. As a result, when I open for new commissions in December, I will be adding 1-2 spots on top of my current workload of 3 suits a month. For those wishing to commission BC4C in December, you could get your suit as soon as the end of March.
BODY SUIT COMMISSIONS OPEN
Need a fursuit body in time for MFF? I can make it happen. Plantigrade only. **starting at $500.00**
Along with my two in house employees, I still have AJ who I have been contracting body sections out to for over a year now. She will be available to do more work now so if you are in need of a body, we can do it.
If you are interested, please shoot me a note.
Thats it. Things are definitely looking up here at ByCats4Cats. And don't worry... Yes, I am increasing my production, but in doing so, the same high standards will be kept. NOTHING will be rushed out of my doors. NOTHING will be allowed to be sent out before I look it over and accept it.
Thank you everyone. I appreciate, respect and admire all of you who are customers, future customers and fans. Its because of you that BC4C exists and I will never take that for granted. I surely am one hell of a fortunate cat.

They keep looking at me.... + AC photo shoot info
Posted 11 years agoAll is good in the land of BC4C
Posted 11 years agoI am pleased to say that everything is complete for AC delivery. Just goes to show that I will always deliver on my promises. I may sound like I'm bragging but I'm very proud of how my business is ran. It irks me when I see posts from customers of other fursuit makers consistently disappointed that their fursuit hasn't been completed by an expected due date. I don't care if I have to work my ass off 12 hours a day, 8 days in a row to get stuff done, but things always does get done as promised.
SO! again, I am opening for new commissions July 9th and can't wait to hear from you folks. I have a brand new quoting system on my website that will give you a ballpark dollar amount expected for your project which I will fine tune with the final quote. Once it is open and up, even if you aren't looking to plunk down a deposit right away, it will give you a good idea of how much your suit will cost. Thanks again to
jacktail for all of his hard work on the website.
I am taking tonight off but from now until we leave for AnthroCon, I will be completing a tiger and shipping him off to Germany.
Thanks again to everyone for your support as its much appreciated.
