Dark Times Today
Posted 10 months ago“Many people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. And it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, ‘What do I care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.’ Yes, evil often seems to surpass good. But then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. One morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. And so I must still have hope.”

My Personal Pokemon Fantasy world LORE
Posted 10 months agoRecently I shared a peek into my brain by sharing a big lore post about my own Original Story Soaring. I have also been doing a lot of Pokemon stuff lately but you may notice that a lot of my personal work does not have to do with the pokemon world of the games or anime. This is my own story and lore that takes place in a fantasy world that's entirely inhabited by Pokemon. So since I had fun with the last big Lore dump, I figured why not give you another!
Unlike the Soaring lore I will not be giving a whole summary of story events because this is not exactly a traditional story right now, this is an open world world building concept that doesn't just follow one story but individual groups all involved in different interlinked stories at the same time.
Background World Information:
This world geographically is based on the Pokemon world as presented in the games with separate Regions operating almost like Countries or something approximating a country made up of separate independent City-States, except Kanto and Johto are somewhat closer to being a single unified region only being separated by the Mountain Range between them, and have close ties and very close cultural identity (Also while not appearing in the Games the Orange Islands are also considered an unofficial part of the Kanto-Johto area but operate a little different than the main land). Another notable area of interest that is a little different to the games, the Region of Sinnoh/Hisui is kinda isolated from the rest of the world by a massive Space-Time rift that makes it really weird inside (We'll get to that)
Each Gym Town or City are one of the major Kingdom/City-States of the Region with Gym Leaders instead being Kings, Queens or other sorts of rulers if king or queen doesn't suit them; Lt. Surge (The Lightning American) for example is not native to the Kanto Region, he is a Military Leader in charge of a colony for Unova maybe working under Queen Elesa. I should also note that Legendaries (and Mythicals) are straight up considered Gods in this world who are worshiped as Gods in temples with devotees, Professors are instead powerful Arch Wizards, and Elite 4 and Champions are basically like an Order of incredibly powerful heroes who are defenders of their Regions, hence part of why Kanto-Johto is so connected. They have the same Elite 4 a few different members per encounter.
Also Mystery Dungeon Style there are NO HUMANS, nobody knows what a human is, everybody here is a Pokemon. For Gym Leaders or other Canon Pokemon Characters I would usually make them a Pokemon version of their Team Ace or whatever pokemon I feel best represents them. I like to try to keep them Region Consistent, but on occasions it's ok to bend the rules especially if certain characters are related to one another I want to try to make them the same species, or species that are in the same Egg Group. For Example: Queen Sabrina is easily a Kadabra or even an Alakazam, however I thought it'd be more appropriate to make King Geovanni a Persian since in the anime he is always seen with one beside him, and I feel like it fits him. Then I would make Rocket Admin Ariana a Weavile despite never having used one herself because she and Giovanni have long been implied to be the Parents of Silver, and making Silver a Sneasel seemed perfect to me as well as Mars from team Galactic who is also theorized to be possibly Silver's sister because of the similar hair.
Most of the time the pokemon of each Kingdom fall into the type of the Rulers Present although there are frequently exceptions. Once again using Geovanni as an example, he is a Normal Type who's the King of a Ground type Kingdom in this world and his family are all Dark/Ice Types.
Aside from the typical powers of Pokemon, there is also Magic in this world. It's not in common use where just anybody can use Magic. The Majority of pokemon are still just normal pokemon, they can't use magic and many of them have not seen magic but some pokemon are more inclined to Magic than others:
Most Fighting Type pokemon, especially Riolu and Lucario are natural Monks able to harness Aura or Chi (Life Energy) through their body and channel it into attacks or techniques that can be seen as supernatural ability
Magic comes easier to Psychic types and some Dark Types though some Psychic pokemon think they should reject the Arcane seeing it as a rival to their Psychic abilities.
Dragon, Ghost, and Fairy Types are naturally Magical. Dragon types are natural Sorcerers; they themselves are like a whirlpool of Magic where they themselves are a source of magical power and magic in the environment just whirls around them like a vortex. Stronger dragons have a more powerful magical pull and influence over Magic allowing them to shape the way it works for them.
Fairy and Ghost types have a natural connection to the magical realms of Life and Death. It's said that in the past the world was a lot more magical the Realms of Life and Death used to be part of the Material world, but then a cataclysm took place (Well get to that) and reality fragmented so the Realms of Life and Death got split off into their own extra dimensional space, otherwise known as the Fae Realm and the Spirit Realm. They seem completely opposite but they are really two sides of the same coin and believed to be responsible for the eternal cycle of Life and Death; Souls on the Material Realm who pass away go to the Spirit Realm and exist there as a Spirit so long as their memory is preserved in the world. Then when they get tired and have no more continued memory in the living world, they leave their old consciousness to rest and their vital energy becomes something new in the Fae realm, which could become a Fae being and live out eternity there, or eventually reincarnate back into the Material World.
None of these worlds are considered bad but are dangerous to go to if you are not already a Ghost or Fairy. The Spirit world is meant for ghosts and the dead so the energy of the realm is dangerous to living things unless they have some kind of protection, but other than having spooky atmosphere it's really a pretty nice place, it has its own order and institutions mainly operated by the Gede Loa, Powerful Spirits who overseeing aspects of Death and Fertility;
Ancestor Worship/Allowing Channelers to Commune with the Dead,
Bringing spirits to the Living world for special festival days,
Maintaining and Guarding Cemeteries,
Guiding the dead to their place in the afterlife,
Sparing loved ones, especially children from dying,
Deciding when a person's time has come
and Meeting the spirits of the Dead on the other side to comfort them and give them peace.
The Realm of Life and Fae is a lot weirder than the Realm of Death and Spirits, it's been described as a Dream-like acid trip, where everything is alive and in a constant state of change. Sometimes without rhyme or reason, that energy and magic decides it wants to be something with thoughts and form, and so it becomes a living pokemon but with some sort of oddity that is not common among their species. Most Fae beings come into existance this way, though there are other ways they can be made as well; They can also be birthed from normal pokemon or a normal pokemon could be turned into a Fae pokemon through overexposure to the energy of Fae Realm such as eating Food of the Fae Realm, which famously binds mortals to to the realm and typically includes too way much sugar, the Fae do not understand restraint. The Fae Realm lacks a lot of organized structure and tends to be just a lot of Pokemon doing whatever they want constantly since nobody can die in the Fae realm but almost worse than death you can still be transformed into something unrecognizable or lose your identity.
There are other realms too; Mainly there is the Celestial realm where Arceus and some of the higher Gods reside, the Distortion Realm which is the home of Giratina and Demons, and the Outer Realm also known as "Ultra Space" which is a sort of shattered space of weird dimensions that were not created by Arceus or the Pantheon of Legendaries, but Necrozma's many twisted attempts at creating his own worlds.
Necrozma in their prime was equal to Arceus, they calls themself "Arceus's Brother" a god of creation who did not take part in creating Arceus's universe remaining distant like the stars. Necrozma thought that Arceus was weak for distributing their power but then when they wanted to ingratiate themself into Arceus's world by splitting parts of their power to create Solgaleo and Lunala in the image of the Sun and Moon, something Necrozma believed that mortals would be familiar with and accepting of. Then Necrozma in it's weakened state was attacked and broken for their power and then reduced to a diminished form (We'll get to that). Necrozma hungers for their power to be returned to them and has tried many of times to break into the Material realm to cannibalize their children and retake the power he used to create them!
Back on topic of magic there are many ways for pokemon to obtain power beyond their normal means.
Sorcerers are more common among Dragon Types but any Pokemon could be a sorcerer so long as they are born with powerful magic or have powerful magic thrust upon them.
Wizards, are essentially the Magic equivalent of Physicists who gain their power through rigorous study of how magic works and how to work magic. They tend to be quirky, reclusive, and have a tendency to do weird experiments. Becoming a Wizard is usually exclusive to those who have the money to afford it.
Witches are NOT the female version of Wizards. If Wizard Magic is Physics, then Witch Magic is Medicine and Biology hence the term "Witch Doctor". Witches focus on Spells, Potions, and Ritual that draw from nature or spirits and affects the body.
Artificers, Tinkerers, Engineers, Inventors, Smiths, Alchemists, and Potion Makers are skilled crafters who are able to craft Magic and Spells into their creations or obtain spell-like effects through technology and engineering. This is where most Magical Weapons and Objects come from, but tends to be exclusive to very specialized Craftsmon
Druids are rare in this world now. They are an old religion, maybe one of the first group of pokemon who learned to channel magic and incorporated it into their belief system. Druids drawing power from the land, sky and all living things in nature, giving them power over forces of nature. Many pokemon thought that their ways and secretive nature was strange and dangerous. Over time they became the targets of persecution and violence. Very few Druids remain, most of them are individual practitioners who keep their ways to themselves and practice in private.
It's not clear if Barbarians power is a sort of magic, but they have a primal power that is not present in average Pokemon and it does not come solely from practice. It seems to draw on extremely powerful emotions, particularly rage to tap into a power that is channeled into their bodies, making them terrifying to fight; They are able to shrug off injuries which would otherwise debilitate an average warrior, and the more you hit them the stronger they become.
Paladins or Oath-Knights is one of the most accessible ways that a pokemon can obtain power so long as they have a very strong conviction to a certain goal, so anybody have the potential, but it's not common that just anybody has that kind of will. By swearing their oath they make a connection with true divine power that flows from them and allows them to empower others. Like Druids, there are not many Oath-Knights around anymore. Kingdoms tend to discourage average citizens from taking up and Oath, being reserved only for trusted Loyal Knights of the Crown. That kind of power in anybody's hand could be dangerous to the kingdom, and worse if for any reason they break their sworn Oath. When their Oath is broken their divine power twists and inverts into something dark and unholy corrupting the Oathbreaker and turning them to Madness and Violence. (We'll get to that soon)
Clerics are like Oath Knights but rather that swearing a general oath to a cause, they swear service directly to a Legendary and are granted power from that Legendary. Some Legendaries choose one particular Cleric to be their Champion, a representative of their will in the world of mortals who they share the largest fraction of their power, and on rare and drastic occasions a Legendary could live within their Champion and make them an Avatar.
Warlocks are similar to Clerics that they get their powers from a stronger entity that isn't a Legendary usually through a brokered deal where the entity will share a fraction of their power, but usually in exchange for something important which varies between Patron and Warlock. This could be a Fae, Powerful Spirits, Celestial Entities, Demons, Genies, Otherworldly beings, etc
Bards come from an ancient and heavily respected tradition that words, art, and performance itself can tap into magic. An early form of this is the humble Court Jester who despite appearing to be a fool was respected and feared for their wordcraft. Should a King seem ill fit for the throne the Jester might challenge them with Insults, Criticism, and Jokes at their expense. If the King were to become flustered or outraged at the Jester then the insults can actually deal physical and spiritual harm and prove that this ruler is indeed unworth of the crown, then be expected to surrender it to their next successor. This might be the most accessible form of magic, all it takes is practice.
History:
Remember how I kept saying "We'll get to that", Now we are getting to it.
A long time ago, in the ancient past of Sinnoh/Hisui, there was a Charizard named Yaldabaoth Azoth who messed things up on a catastrophic scale! He was once an Oath Knight and a Conquering Warrior King who swore his service to the Legendaries, he fought many battles, and came out the victor but his goal was never for the sake of the Legendaries, for Peace, or for helping any other fellow Pokemon but himself. He simple wanted to be the strongest Warrior and Conquer the World. His pride and hunger for power were too great and all consuming, as he grew stronger he began to see the Legendaries as his next enemy to overcome. He had forsaken his oaths and grew in dark power, but he knew that if her were to try to truly conquer the Legendaries then any power a mortal could gain would not be enough, so he singled out Legendaries, and stole from them: Necrozma, Eternatus, Zygarde, they were reduced in form and he absorbed the energy they bleed with a forbidden ritual making himself on par with some of the strongest of Legendaries and his power became an unholy blight!
Yaldabaoth waged a terrible war unlike anything seen before against the gods and spanned across the world. In this war he dealt a blow on Arceus themself and shattered reality! The other Legendaries managed to stabilize the world by creating separate realms: The Fae Realm, Spirit Realm, Celestial Realm etc...and brought Arceus to the Celestial realm to recover. Arceus survived the attack but Yaldabaoth's power infected their wound with an blight that they could not cured so long as Yaldabaoth exists, but he is a Legendary now, so they can not simply kill him. In pain, Arceus fell into a comatose state to keep their infection in remission but it still plagues them and should it continue to grow fully infect Arceus then they will die and reality will cease to exist. The rest of the Legendaries could not fully defeat Yaldabaoth but they did trap him and sealed him away under a Mountain so he could never menace the world again. During this dark age following the war, the legendaries annihilated the legacy of the Yaldabaoth and removed all knowledge and memory of him from history and in the minds of mortal survivors in order to try to keep his prison secret while they try to figure out how to undo the powers that made him, there has not been a lot of success.
Several thousands of years have now passed, stories of the War of the Gods had become misremembered tales of disasters, yet despite being trapped and forgotten, Yaldabaoth has worn away at his prison long enough that his influence can reach beyond it's containing walls and enter the minds of pokemon who might be influenced to serve him. Being forgotten has done Yaldabaoth some favor convincing followers that the Legendaries may not be trustworthy, trying to keep mortal pokemon like himself from becoming Gods, and then gaslighting all other pokemon so they don't get any ideas. He promised his followers that if they release him he will raise them all into his new pantheon of Legendaries in the new world he creates, but like always he does not care about anyone but himself, and he does not share power. As a measure to stop Yaldabaoth's followers from reaching their master Dialga and Palkia have created a Space-Time rift around the entire region of Sinnoh/Hisui so nobody can get in or out and any attempts to pass through the rift will cause pokemon to end up somewhere else they do not expect in Space and Time.
Important Groups:
The Major Arcana
Thousands of Years ago during the original War with Yaldabaoth, a secret organization was founded by members within his own ranks, risking their own lives in order to try to put a stop to him and end this war. The original Major Arcana failed and their leader was executed but individual members managed to survive and pass down their duty across generations to monitor the world, fight followers of Yaldabaoth, and prevent his return.
The Celestial Stars
The Celestial Stars formed as a branch organization of the Major Arcana using the Brightest Stars in each Constellation of the Zodiac as their code names. While the Major Arcana are more prevalent in the East, the Celestial Stars are prevalent in the West. While the Major Arcana's main goal is to stop Yaldabaoth, the Celestial Stars take a more general approach to monitoring and preventing any major threats to the world
The Knights without Banners
The Knights without Banners, or "The Guardian Knights" was founded by Auren Starfall a Demigod son of Yaldabaoth who defected from his father and one of the Original Major Arcana. They have become a wandering group of errant knights who answer to no Crown or Kingdom. They work alongside the Arcana and Stars to Help and Protect the average Pokemon.
The Seven Deadly Sins
The Seven Deadly Sins are a very recent group founded by the Infamous Pirate Captain Kaida LaCroix as a group of Outlaw Antiheroes. They don't have a particular goal they serve, they mostly exist to do what they want and make a name for themselves, and when they come across somebody causing trouble or in need of help, more often than not they will get themselves involved.
Unlike the Soaring lore I will not be giving a whole summary of story events because this is not exactly a traditional story right now, this is an open world world building concept that doesn't just follow one story but individual groups all involved in different interlinked stories at the same time.

Soaring Arc 1 Summary
Posted 10 months agoIt has been brought to my notice that many people are interested in the dragon characters that I come up with for my story Soaring, but the only bits of story available right now are scattered in texts about character's backgrounds, Lore Ideas, and in my own head. I don't want to give away too much right at this moment because eventually I intend to publish my stories to be available for everybody to buy, and if I spoiled the whole thing ahead of time then why even bother reading it? But I also want to build interest in my work, and make people want to know more so when I do eventually publish my personal Magnum Opus it's met with people who are already Fans of my work wanting to get the full story.
This is going to be a detailed summary of the First Arc of Soaring as I have planned it out, including:
-Background world information
-Major Characters involved
-and a Simplified telling of events that start off the novel
Background World Information:
Soaring is a Xenofiction Fantasy told from the perspective of Intelligent Sapient Dragons in a similar to the Wings of Fire series by Tui. T Sutherland of which I am a fan of but this is not meant to be a derivative of her work; I had started working on this series and planned on publishing it as my own original story before I came across Wings of Fire. The main difference between these series is that while Humans exist in Wings of Fire, there are no such thing as Humans in Soaring. The setting of Soaring is a Uchronia (No Time) that is Inspired off of parts of the Mesozoic Era, the periods of time often thought of as the Age of the Dinosaurs and in a world that is very similar to what Earth would have looked like during that time, but is in no way meant to be taken as Our World or a realistic depiction of any specific period of time, exact events that may have occurred in that time period, or species who were around in that particular location. This is my Sandbox World and I have set it up how I like.
All organisms from Animals to Plants and Fungi, and even Micro-Organisms have some supernatural uncanny ability, this is a world that is saturated with Magic in every aspect of nature. Usually this means that each species has evolved at least one uncanny ability that helps them survive. Some of these abilities can be very simple like giving a creature unnatural Strength or more durable hide, while others let plants survive in areas of extreme conditions, allow certain creatures to teleport, or whole Herds of creatures could change the weather around them! Possibilities are nearly limitless. I should also mention that while not inherently a source of Magic, gemstones can project certain magical effects when Magical Energy is channeled through them, so Gemstones are valued by what they can do rather than scarcity, so a Quartz could be valued over a Diamond.
Another trait that is different about creatures in Soaring is that all Terrestrial Vertebrate species are descended from Hexapod Ancestors, so creatures tend to have 6 limbs instead of 4. I always thought it was odd how in stories that feature Dragons why there are no other/rarely other creatures who are like dragons; Having two pairs of legs with a pair of wings on their back doesn't just come out of nowhere and neither do Reptilian Megafauna. Some stories have corrected this by making their Dragons Wyvern-esque with two wings/two legs. I have decided to take an opposite approach by making every other creature more like Dragons, hence why I decided to base my world off of Prehistoric Earth. Dragons are Large Reptilian Creature so Dinosaurs are probably biologically the closest real world equivalent to a close cousin of dragons. Then I went and messed with things a little by introducing 2 different Dragon Categories: Sauropsid Dragons (Dragons related to Archesaurs and Reptiles) and Synapsid Dragons (Dragons who are more based on Ancient Synapsid Proto-mammals, most famously: The Dimetrodon! They are NOT Dinosaurs, they predate Dinosaurs and are closer related to US than to Dinosaurs.
From a real paleontological standpoint I should not have Large Synapsids and Sauropsids inhabiting the world at the same time, but once again this is my world and I will do what I want. Typically these two kinds of Dragons would not be interacting much. I have decided to split them up over different continents so in certain places Sauropsids are more dominant and in other places Synapsids are more dominant, however where the main story takes place on the Island Continent of Laramidia there are both Sauropsid and Synapsid Dragons who have feuded for dominance.
History:
The Sauropsid Tannin Dragons were the native inhabitants of the Island Continent Laramidia. The Synapsid Valkirtanni Dragons arrived from across the western Ocean invading Laramidia and establishing a Colony Empire, taking Tannin as Slaves. Eventually the Tannin discovered the Lunar Ritual which gave them Elemental powers and used these new found abilities to turn the tables on their Valkirtanin oppressors, freeing themselves and toppling their empire. The Valkirtani who couldn't escape went into hiding, some of them forming new settlements in very remote locations, while others integrated into Tannin societies. Even though it has been over 1000 years since the fall of the Valkirtani Empire and no dragon alive today is old enough to have been subject to their past tyranny, Tannin still widely hold an ancestral grudge against the Valkirtani and persecute or kill them if they are found.
Somehow despite not being closely related some Tannin and Valkirtani couples have managed to create a Hybrid species, often simply called "Hybrids" though the official name is Valtannin. Don't worry too hard about it.
There are two main regions of Laramidia: The Northern and Southern Region since this Island is long and narrow.
The Southern Region is dominated by a single powerful Empire which takes inspiration mainly from the Aztecs, Inca, and Imperial China. There is an Emperor who is the main figure of ruling power, however the Emperor does not have absolute authority. Authority is also given to the Bureaucratic council of royal advisors, Local Authority of individual cities, the Priestly Caste, and a Council of former Emperor Mummies who's spirits can be channeled to offer advice to their descendants.
The Northern Region is not dominated by any one kingdom or empire and is made up of multiple scattered Kingdoms, City-states, and towns who have webs of different affiliations and primarily operate independently, but have allied to keep the Southern Empire from further northern expansion. Each civilization have their own unique identity and rules that they operate by, some are friendlier than others.
One thing that is consistent between the North and South is that civilizations will typically have different districts or entire cities for each of the Tannin Lunar elements:
Light, Crystal, Wind, Sound, Wood, Poison, Water, Ice, Shadow, Phantom, Earth, Metal, Psionic, Fear, Fire, and Lightning
When a Tannin grows into old age, their element starts to outgrow their body and then release a powerful elemental discharge upon death which over time and multiple similar discharges of the same element in the same area can alter the local environment creating the ideal habitat of dragons of the same element, however certain elements are valued differently than others:
Crystal and Phantom are more rare than the other elements and are seen as incredibly valuable or even sacred. Crystal Dragons can utilize Crystal based Magic, and Phantom Dragons can communicate with or Channel Spirits.
Shadow and Poison are often looked down on or treated poorly. Shadow dragons are stealthy and can blend in with the shadows but are sensitive to light so they tend to be mistrusted and are not able to interact with other dragons in daylight. Poison Dragons are often thought to be dangerous and unclean/diseased or just harmful to be around because anything they touch could be poisonous. This is not entirely true but that's what some dragons believe.
So why don't dragons just avoid getting these elements? Well Shadow and Phantom are paired on the same lunar phase meaning that there is a random chance that a dragon could hatch with Shadow or Phantom but Phantom is a lot rarer. Thanks to the value of Phantom Dragons some dragons believe it is worth the gamble, so as a result there are a lot of unwanted Shadow Hatchlings being one of the most common elements.
Simple Summary:
The main story follows the adventures of a group of young dragon friends and their fight against an evil society of mad scientists (Actually more like Alchemists) called "The Legion of Zelophbog" who are trying to capture them!
Bys was an failed test subject of their experiments who ran away in a mass break out. Bys doesn't have much knowledge or experience with the outside world being young and hatched in captivity of the Legion's laboratories, so they don't know much, but end up following a group of other young dragons who are all misfits of some sort who found a place to belong with one another. Arc 1 mainly focuses on these dragons having miscellaneous adventures while they wander from place to place trying to avoid the Legion, introducing the world they live in, different locations, characters, factions, and building on each character's personal motivations, but eventually they need to confront the Legion and stop them from releasing the Mysterious Monster Zelophbog!
Important Characters
The Prodragonists
Bys:
Bys is a young dragon (They/Them) who was hatched and raised in the legion base. They don't remember much of what was done to them but they were deemed a failed experiment and failures get put down for studying. Bys can't control any elements, but unlike most dragons who only have 1 which they hatched with, Bys was artificially given 6 which have a will of their own and act if Bys is in danger leading to them being very chaotic and dangerous to everybody. Bys is trying to learn to work with their elements and believes there is a magic stone somewhere out there which they can use to wish back the other experiments who didn't make it out of the Legion's lab alive, then find a place they can all be free.
Bys is the youngest of the group; They are naive and are easily frightened but they care about their friends and willing to do crazy things if it means helping them.
Pinto:
Pinto is a Valtannin Hybrid Dragoness with the poison element. She grew up living in the forest with her father isolated from other dragons because he feared what other Tannin would do if they discovered her. She has great survival and hunting skills, she very studious and interested in learning, especially how to master her Valkirtani heritage abilities since she didn't have anyone around who could teach her, and she is compassionate going out of her way help other dragons but dislikes violence.
One day her father went missing so she left her home behind and started off on an adventure to find him, and rescued Bys who was being attacked by wild animals.
Requiem:
Requiem is a Poison Dragon. He did not hatch in Legion captivity like Bys, he was given to the Legion by his mother at a young age and had his element experimented on and altered. Now instead of Poison he has the power to control Viruses and Disease in order to emulate one of the 7 Calamities, mythical figures that represent 7 of the worst disasters that threaten Dragon-kind. However Requiem doesn't want to hurt anybody.
After escaping the Legion's labs he split off from the rest of the Calamity group in order to teach himself to control his powers and use them to be a Doctor rather than making Dragons sick. Requiem is brilliant but he struggles with recognizing his own self worth.
Asherah:
Asherah is a Water Dragoness and former Pirate. As a young dragoness used to be their prisoner and was told she had to fight for her keep, as a result she became strong, fierce, and very self reliant. After fighting her way up she earned the respect of the pirates and was made a member of the crew who was feared despite her young age but had issues with relying on other Dragons.
She is introduced as a minor antagonist to Bys and Pinto but after Requiem joins the team Asherah has a falling out with her captain and joins the team to be with Requiem. The two of them are a couple. Asherah is the most skilled fighter of the team but tends to be a little too headstrong and stubborn.
Kineta:
Kineta is a Fire Dragoness but she has a hard time breathing fire, instead she can only manage to produce a lot of sparks. She was a kidnappee of the Legion from the Southern Empire who because of her weak Fire abilities was not seen as very useful so she was not experimented on but she has witnessed the horrors of the Legion. In the break out she grouped up with the Calamities for safety in numbers but didn't agree with their agenda of vengeance against the world, she just wants to go home.
Kineta joins the team at first seeing them as a safer option of traveling companions but after being with them for a while comes to see them as true friends and decides she can't just let the Legion's atrocities go unheard.
Cobalt:
Cobalt is a Metal Dragon Tinkerer with a pet Kobold named Glauco. The team meets Cobalt as a worker in a shipyard who long for adventure and discovery, as well as an opportunity to put his inventions to use. He's quick to want to join the team, especially after learning about the Legion and what they are up to, but is initially very distrustful of Pinto because of her Magic.
His mother was not a Valkirtani or a Hybrid, but was a practitioner of Magic who would describe herself as a Witch. She did not see the potential she wanted in Cobalt as a successor, so she neglected Cobalt, amputated his tail in order to "create a better successor" and then once she had the child she wanted, abandoned Cobalt. Cobalt developed a strong dislike and distrust for any magic outside the common Tannin Elemental powers and is determined in spite of his mother to make all mysteries and magic able to be understood with Reason and Logic.
Auburn:
Auburn is a Wood Dragon and the oldest member of the team. As a child he would travel around with his parents on archeological adventures; His father was the expert on studies regarding the fallen Valkirtani Empire and magical artifacts which Auburn developed an interest in as well following his father's footsteps. One day his father was taken away by the Legion and Auburn would find Legion agents desecrating Valkirtani ruins and stealing artifacts.
Auburn made it his own duty to try to protect these artifacts from falling into Legion claws and try to find and rescue his father. The group meet him in the middle of trying to stop the Legion and quickly become allies having a mutual enemy, and he and Pinto share an interest in Valkirtani Magic.
The Rivals
Barak and the Calamities:
Barak is the Leader of the Group of rogue experiments of the Legion called The 7 Calamities of Disaster. They were designed to match the powers of a Dragon Legends about 7 mythical figures who represent disasters that would wipe out all Dragons: Tempests, Plagues, Droughts, Eruptions, Blizzards, Desolation, and Hysteria.
The Calamities decided they were not going to be used by the Legion and started the mass break out, escaping out into the world to put a stop to the Legion, but also have a grudge against the rest of the world for the Legion's existance, with the exception of Requiem who broke off from the group.
Barak the Calamity of Tempest is a decent leader and wants to save and protect all experiments of the Legion, but is too tunnel visioned by his wrath to really be as effective as he could be. He tries to get the Prodragonists to join with him but when they can't go along with his methods which would hurt innocent Dragons they become Rivals.
The rest of the Calamities are:
Scirocco the Calamity of Drought (He's a dumbass)
Melpomene the Calamity of Eruptions (She is very Angry)
Desolation the Calamity of Blizzards (He's a Loner)
Calamity the Calamity of Desolation (She is Broken)
and Echo the Calamity of Hysteria (He is a Trickster)
Rulers
Emperor Caldera:
Caldera is the current Emperor of the Southern region. He is very elderly Fire Dragon who looks like an erupting Volcano, but despite his intimidating looks he is a fair Ruler and values Peace in his land.
Queen Alzien:
Alzien is a Valtannin Hybrid who has established a secure sanctuary kingdom under the sea in order to protect other Hybrids from being persecuted. She is a Genius especially in Transformation Magic, but she has a tendency to absent-minded and likes to mess with dragons.
King Jokull:
Jokull is an Ice Dragon King in the Northern Region who sees Emperor Caldera as his ultimate Rival. He wants to Unite the Northern Kingdoms (By force if he has to) in order to raise an army to Conquer the South.
The Bone King:
The Bone King is the Leader of a Warrior Desert Tribe. His tribe are harsh and dangerous, but he believes strongly in a Warrior's honor and integrity. He can always be taken at his word and if he fights you he will fight fair.
The Villain
Dr.Bhaal:
Doctor Bhaal is one of the Alchemists of the Legion. He is a very old Valtannin Hybrid, nobody is entirely sure where he came from but he is terrifying and the Legion specifically requested he join them and they would help fund his personal projects. Among his many contributions to the Legion he figured out how to artificially put multiple elements in one dragon; it was also Bhaal's decision to use live children as test subjects, not all subjects survive the process.
At one point Bhaal thought that Bys was his most successful test subject having survived the longest with 6 elements and would be the one to help complete his own secret goal, but something went wrong which ruined years worth of of Bhaal's plans. Despite declaring Bys a failed experiment he still needs Bys, and was furious when he learned of Bys's escape. Now more so than any of the other escaped experiments, Bhaal is fixated on capturing Bys, and will raise hell in order to get them back.

I also I think I am pretty good at it too with how much thought I put into most of my own descriptions, check them out yourself for examples of what I am able to do.
I don't have any exact set of prices yet for writing projects, but we can work out the prices depending on the project; How many words go into it, how long it would take to complete, how long you want it completed by. I like to keep my prices reasonable I know money can be tight right now, I am sure feeling it myself
I can do:
Description for your own artwork
Character's Personalities
Character's Backstories
Character's Stats
D&D Stats and Abilities
Short Stories
Long Stories with multiple chapters
LORE
WIPs
Fanfiction
Proofreading
And More...
Let me know if this is something you are interested in and if not please share this around or let anybody you know who might be interested know I am offering this service.

Should I change my username?
Posted 11 months agoI have been Bysthedragon everywhere online for over a decade that's how people know me online, some of my friends don't call me by my first name, they call my "Bys" because that's what the username says and that's how they think of me, and whenever I am trying to reign in my train of thought and focus on something, in my head I repeat the phrase "Bys, Bys, Bys" etc... The Main character of the Novel I have been working on is a little Dragon named Bys, and I have identified with this character, but my younger brother is getting uncomfortable with me using the username "Bysthedragon" especially as I am moving towards making a business from my art, because he is the original Bys (B.Y.S are the initials of his name).
Let me take you back to how it started. Back when we were kids my mother bought my brother a computer game for his birthday, and his username on it was "Bys". He stopped playing it after a while and I began playing it very frequently but I couldn't change the username so people in the game started to know me as Bys, and then one of my friends came up with the initial version of Bys the Dragon as a character for me that stuck. At this point I don't know who I would be if I wasn't Bys anymore and it's hard to imagine being anybody else now, and my initials don't work quite as well as a name
AMS
Ams the Dragon? No doesn't sound as good.
And could I even change the name of my main character at this point?...They have always been Bys, their name was never meant to be my brother's initials, it's just Bys.
I tried experimenting with an alternate version of Bys once called Starry Knight in a sort of playful reference to the famous Van Gogh painting, but it didn't stick with me quite as well as the original. I thought the design was fine and everything, I still like them but they can't replace Bys for me.
