Home situation continues to deteriorate, and I will be out of a place to stay within the next couple weeks or so. Emergency housing options are not available (thank you stupid WA state government shutdown), and because of my transitioning stuff I'm extremely wary of staying with just random strange.

So! I'm seeing if anyone here knows anyone that's trustworthy and who is willing to take on a roommate. I can pay about $300-400 a month and cover my own living expenses.

Despite my best efforts, I won't be making it to BLFC this year.

I had several dozen people all tell me that they couldn't spare any room space at all, even though I was offering to pay.

That kind of thing is soul crushing.

As a result of this experience, I'm strongly considering skipping cons altogether going forward. Both because I can't afford to pay for rooms by myself, and because it feels pointless and even rude to subject other people to my presence.

I love painting and coloring and rendering, but I kinda loathe the whole "posing and doing lines and such" part of drawing.

Given this - I've been considering offering to give significant discounts to commissions if I'm provided existing linework to use (with full permission and credit to whoever actually drew the linework, of course.)

Is there any real interest in this sort of thing?

Heyas! So! With much help from some friends, and a lot of planning, I've decided to go and launch a "quest" over on TGChan!

(What is a "quest", you ask? Good question! "Quests are interactive games in which one person posts pictures and events, and the other posts decide how to behave. This produces a collaborative story.")

"Aardvarks Need Love" stars Aubrey, a female aardvark with a proclivity for getting into interesting situations, and who's in search of hot lovings.

I have a lot of really fun ideas planned for this one, and a whole cast of new characters. Some of my existing ones may make a few cameos as well. ;D

I had an amazing vacation at  slither's place! Sooooo much awesome and so many awesome things. One of the highlights was definitely getting to meet Adam Savage (from Mythbusters) and Michael Stevens (from Vsauce). Such great guys. :D

Anyway, I am physicalllly back, but mentally a bit exhausted. I plan on spending today decompressing, and then tomorrow it is back to work! I had planned on working while I was away, but that didn't end up being as possible as I'd liked.

So, this is my favorite of the Mass Effect franchise. Hands-down.

Objectively, it's a game that has been getting great review scores as well (well, the Metacritic average is the same as some other games that have been lauded as "great" by the media).

However.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy, because there is so much freaking negativity about it. It's like a bunch of gaming websites banded together and decided that they would just shit allllllllll over this game. Going by the headlines everywhere, you'd assume that ME:A was an abomination of a game, with poor sales and a sub-50% review average.

I've had to stop browsing a lot of my favorite sites, just because I get bombarded with condescending and click-baity articles. It SUCKS.

I just wanna enjoy my xenophilic, space-exploring, shooting things simulator in peace, guys. Bleah.

Just... have all of my money already. All of it.

*Oh my goodness. That was easily, EASILY the best con I've ever had. I'd been away for a few years, and I neeeeeeeded it. I specifically made certain to explore outside of my comfort zone of friends, too, and that paid off in spades. I now have plans to accelerate my role in the business side of things, and I have some pretty crazy plans that I'll be putting into motion.

First and foremost, if you use Telegram, then great - I won't stop you, and I won't try to talk you out of using it. I am making this journal because I am getting more and more requests from friends to use it, and with FC coming up I can anticipate getting many more requests to sign up.

There are many, many reasons I won't use Telegram - enough that I could write a good-sized essay at this point, with references and sources and all - but, if I were to sum it all up in one sentence, it would be this:

Telegram scares the shit out of me.

(Now, to clarify - I actually did end up trying it out. In fact, I tried it for a week before I said, "Fuck this," and deleted my account... and that was BEFORE I learned what I now know about it.)

According to them, your desire to have privacy from other people - to not be stalked or harassed, to be left alone, to not have your life on public display - is solely the result of a brainwashing campaign by Google and Facebook.

The Durov Brothers have complete and total control over the company, a company that has ZERO oversight and ZERO controls - since it's completely funded out of Pavel's gigantic pile of cash, it doesn't even have to answer to market pressures, or to having to turn a profit.

THAT is what is terrifying: The thought that two individuals - individuals with an erratic political history and a penchant for conspiracy theories - have so much control over the lives of 100 million users, and there is absolutely nothing preventing them from doing whatever they want with those lives.

Huzzah! After having missed a few years, I'm finally able to make it to FC again! I'll be arriving on Wednesday (unfortunate, since the people I'm staying with won't be there until Thursday, but oh well). I'm really excited, because after 10 years of promising to do it, I've actually managed to get some pieces into the Adult Dragon Panel. :D

2. Trico isn't a baby. Seriously. She's not underage, and porn of her isn't underage.

First off, I have NOT played this game. I don't have a PS4. What I have done, though, is watch several different streamers play it, and... I've noticed a common theme among those who get frustrated and upset:

They keep trying to force their will onto the game.

Instead of going with the flow, immersing themselves into the experience, and seeking harmony, they take a very "gamery" approach. And they keep getting stuck, and then get angry that Trico won't listen to them.

And every single time that has happened, the solution to whatever they were stuck on has been very obvious to someone who would have approached it from the perspective of the boy.

For example - and this is a generic example, nothing from the game specifically - say they get trapped in an area. People would spend five minutes crawling over everything, poking at everything, and then getting angry at "no obvious answer"... when all they had to do would have been to call Trico for help. Which, to me, makes perfect sense - you're a young child, you're scared and alone, the first thing you would do would be to call the big, fluffy friend you have to help you.

...I dunno. It's just frustrating to me to watch people pan this game.

There's a major typhoon that is expected to hit here in the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, and we're supposed to have extremely strong winds from now (Thursday afternoon) until Sunday. There's a very good chance my area will be losing power; if that happens, it's possible that it could be up to 72 hours before power is restored. Just wanna let everyone know in case anyone needs to get in touch with me and I don't respond. <3

So, I need money, and I am sitting on a ton of original commissioned works by a bunch of different, well-known anthro artists (and a few mainstream ones as well).

So, I just finished Undertale. I played it perfectly as a pacifist, and put in the work to get the best possible ending.

...I don't say this lightly, but that was the best gaming experience I have ever had. Undertale exceeded every single one of my already-high expectations.

I haven't felt this connected to a game since I played Lunar SSSC, almost 20 years ago, and I haven't felt this drawn in to any sort of narrative property since Homestuck.

My life is much richer for having the chance to play this game. Wow.
