Is it just me, or do movies in a series tend to get worse as they progress? PotC was fucking awesome. The next two? Tedious and annoyingly trying too hard. Harry Potter's another one (though at least there's the excuse that the series changed directors). I was never into The Godfather, so I can't really comment there.

I think the only exception is the LotR trilogy, but then again they were very faithful to the works of a brilliant author. Oh, and Evil Dead. Fuck that first one, Army of Darkness was a /masterpiece/.

Maybe it's just that no sequel could live up to the magic or whatever it is that I feel when I first see something I love brought to life. My jaw dropped when I saw the floating candles in the Great Hall. I drooled over the Pillars of the Kings. It's just really hard to match that, I guess.

I'm in between jobs right now and financially fucked. I'm thinking of opening commissions again. I'd be doing digital work and digital badges printed and laminated. So that includes Tamas, Tama icons, and any other character work.

Would there be any interest? I need to decide on prices, but they'll be around what they always are. I may take some prices down a bit.

I have all of the commissioned Tamas in stamped envelopes, ready to go. All I need to do now is track down my customers to find out addresses. Then I need to start uploading actual art here.

And those Tamagotchis are back with me. Not open for commissions, but my customers who haven't gotten theirs should expect notes soon. Everything has been printed and cut out, all I need to do is laminate them, cut 'em out again, and mail them off.

Apologies for never being around. My offline life took a horrible turn right after everything seemed to be looking up, and I folded while trying to deal. My physical problems (scoliosis and neck and shoulder problems) have made it very difficult for me to sit and cut things out, and that's been the holdup. I should have come and made this announcement sooner, but with work and school, time slipped away from me.

Sorry for the disappearing act. As some of you know, my life hit a big rough spot and I shut down and couldn't deal. Hi everyone, this is Jolyn/SilverWing updating for Caishide. Ever since getting home from AC Caishy has been going through some really awful crap. To make a long story short, a HUGE drastic change has just happened in her life. She's having to move out of her apartment and into a new place, where she has no internet access currently. And not to mention she's still dealing with all of her health problems on top of these horrible things that went down recently.

So the reason she has not responded to notes or comments is because she literally has not been online since before AC - as in around June 30. She appreciates all the comments and the inquiries about Tama commissions, and as soon as she is up to it and has the internet again she will get back to all of you!

And now a little aside from me - send her some loves, even if it's just a comment on here or Facebook for her to see when she comes back. I know she will appreciate it.

Tomorrow James and I are flying up to visit , then we'll all drive to AC together.

As most of you know, I've been fighting with my health. I recently had an epidural that went wrong, so I've been spending much of my time at the doctor's office and in bed. I have all the Tamas and icons ready, I'm just waiting to get back to my computer at home so I can post them. I apologize for the wait, this usually isn't my style. I hope everyone understands.

I'm ready to mail off the laminated Tama badges, but with AC coming up I could hand them out there. If you've commissioned a badge and have not yet received it in the mail, please let me know if you'd rather get it in person. Just send a note my way and I'll give you a number to contact me at the con. I'll be running around with quite a large group of people, too, so hopefully I'll be very easy to get in touch with.

Whelp, it's been a weird week. A friend of mine's being a self-centerd twat, I got in a huge debate about abortion with a group of disrespectful morons, and worst of all, I got my epidural yesterday.

It was injected into a nerve bundle in the base of my cervical spine, so the entirety of my upper back, neck, and shoulders are intolerably stiff and painful. The slightest movement causes extreme pain, and I'm not allowed to move around too much today so that the injection properly absorbs. I can't expect results until next week, so right now everything sucks. Thank god for Percocet.

I thought the crappy week was over, but when I woke up this morning there was an emergency. One of our dogs, Shawnee, was taken on a leashed walk, and an unleashed and unescorted neighborhood dog attacked her. She has a huge gash into the muscle on the front of her chest. She's at the vet now, and it seems like everything's going to be okay after stitches.

And hey, wanna know the excellent reason the owner had for leaving an unleashed dog running around? Well, she's getting an electric fence installed on Saturday.

Excuse me? Are electric fences retroactive?

Our friend Casey (who technically owns Shawnee) had to take a day off work for this, so she's making the owner of the dog reimburse her for the medical bills and one day's salary.

Sooo yeah, everything kinda sucks. But it's all gonna be better after 8:30 when and arrive! I've needed something this awesome for a while now. They're going to be here from tonight til Tuesday. Which will be the saddest Tuesday ever.

Sorry I've been so scarce. I have a lot going on in my non-art life.
I've been doing a major overhaul of my apartment in preparation for and coming down for a visit! And just because the apartment needed a makeover something fierce.

Physically I'm going through some major issues, and I'm scheduled for an epidural this Wednesday. I don't know how that's gonna affect my energy, but I have a feeling it'll suck.

I have 2 icons to work on still, as well as a new batch of Tamas to cut out, and 2 trades. Hopefully I'll be back in action no later than next Wednesday.

Until then, hopefully I can get to work on reading and replying to all your wonderful comments. I hope no one has felt ignored.
