Ok, here is the thing, I work for a relatively small company that is landing some pretty big contracts. Almost of all of them are as third party's to a larger multinational who frankly can not do the work themselves.

I have no problems with this after all this is how companies are supposed to operate coming together in the mutual per-suite of money.

What I do have a problem with is the stupidity of some of the procedures.

Take today's incident.

I had to take ownership of a bit of a mess of a call. the company that we answer to asked me to talk direct to the end user to resolve the issue. Not a problem off I went and after a lot of poking around figured out the problem and fixed for the customer Horray! every body happy.

My last email was to the customer asking if they could set the call to completed.

a little latter I received an email from the umbrella company or more correctly a department of that umbrella company it read along the lines of:

"Please note ALL communications to the customer are to come through us all chases and progression of calls are to be through us."

now. this department plays no part what so ever in resolving the issue or assisting in changes there only job is to forward emails between us the customer and presumably other departments in the multicorp and that's it. they do not even read what we put into the emails and in times past when we have questioned them they have said flatly they are not technical. there only purpose is to forward emails...

I almost responded with the following email, almost but not as sadly I have rather more tact and professionalism at work and I am mealy using this site as a medium to vent my rage. any how the email would have read thus:

"Dear pointless layer of bureaucracy

It is not my job to justify your existence as a meat based outlook rule. Kindly go away and do something more productive with your life other then forwarding emails. "

this really does justify me reasons for being in furry. it is the escapism from situations like this to the fun of furry. Bring on the floofy tails and big paws and please let me forget the simple minded layers of middle management.

Me and drac have made it back from EF 2011 we had a lot of fun. it had its ups and downs as these things always do. it was a lot of fun though and now both me and drac are frothing a little about plans for EF2012!

Well that's me signed up booked and my flights now paid for, Me and my Dragon are coming to EF!

Auckland reminds me of a cross between the UK and a lot of US cities I have been to. so far so good though. I get my roaming paws on tomorrow.

Sooooooo yeah providing the weather does not foul it up Jan the 22nd I will be boarding a flight to New Zealand. going to be a long arse flight but meh all part of the fun. Taking my camera so hopping to get some fantastic pictures which I will probably end up posting somewhere if any one wants to use them as refs, or just note me (I love getting private notes). going to Visit my brother in Wellington lucky git emigrated there a while ago but generally I will be bimbaling around doing the tourist thing. not sure if there are any furs out that way that fancy meeting up but would be kind of interesting if there are.

In these times of economic crisis we are all looking for a good deal. Can I therefore recommend http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/...../#cid:14330268 this artist is insanely cheep for the quality of work that he puts in to your drawings and really needs help getting commissions.

If you can not commission him yourself then please at least look at his work and maybe spread the good news.

So I just got back from EF 2010 and there is something I really would like help with. LANGUAGES! I was desperately embarrassed that I could not talk back to a large number of Artists and furries at the con as the only language that I was able to speak was English therefore I am putting out this plea. If there are any furries out there with a good grasp of both English and German that would be willing to take the time to teach me how to talk at least conversation level German I would be really really grateful. I figured I would start with just text but if people are willing I would like to eventually extend this to Skype conversations to help me talk and learn :) well, hear is hopping

Well I have just gotten home from EF 2010 and OMG what an awesome wonderful time I have had.

EF was like my first con where every thing was fun and new and did not have any of the drama that sadly put a cloud over latter cons. I will be going back next year with out a doubt as it was so much frigging fun!

Yes I am going to EF and I need someone to room with. I want to be with someone I have had chance to actualy get to know first rather then a a complete stranger.
