An Update
General | Posted 7 years agoHey!
It's been awhile! D:
I'm back and hope to be creating and posting more art! I've been out of the game for awhile, and I'm hoping to get back up to speed shortly, as well as up my game a bit. I've also updated my profile.
I'm very grateful that communities like this are still active and welcoming, it's been a little intimidating getting back into things. There's so much amazing art out there! But I really appreciate the support I've gotten, both now and in the past.
Fur Affinity has always been especially supportive, and all of you here really are amazing. I know I've had long periods of being away due to life, and you guys always make me so happy when I'm able to be active. This community is what keeps me coming back.
Thanks!<3

Commissions?
General | Posted 7 years agoI know it's been a long time since I've been active here. But just in case anyone is checking these things out, and are interested...
I'm going to try my hand at commissions.
I'll open two spots, for single character full body illustrations, little or no background.
I can offer either traditional media, or digital.
Something similar to the Cheetara featured on my page HERE
or Taako HERE
I'm willing to hash out any details with anyone who is interested. Feel free to ask questions! :)
Thanks for reading! :D
EDIT: all spots are claimed for now! Thanks!

Where I've been
General | Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
It's been awhile.... :/ In the past three years I have moved from Florida to New Jersey, gotten divorced, and threw myself into trying to make enough money to survive. In June, my subconscious decided I needed a break, and so in my sleep I pulled my laptop down off the shelf and gave myself a nice concussion. I've been recovering from that, and trying to get back into art a little bit.
For now it's mostly been traditional, but as it goes I'm hoping to get back into digital art as well.
One thing I have been lacking a bit of is inspiration. I can't make any promises, but if you wanna make a suggestion, maybe it will help stir the pot? :D
Anyway, I missed this place. I hope it's not changed too much D:

Shelter in Place wins an ENnie!
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm not certain if I mentioned it here, but I did illustrations for a very fun live-action zombie horror game created by my good friend J.R. Blackwell. Just recently, that game, Shelter in Place, has won a 2012 Judges Spotlight ENnie award! Check it out!. It's good times with friends and brains!

Wolfies!
General | Posted 15 years agoI've been a bit out of the loop lately as I've been going through some major life stuff and pretty much not drawing at all sadly. However I did something today that I thought you folk might appreciate, so I thought I'd share. I'll be back to posting art as soon as I get back to making it. :D
So, the man and i went to seacrest wolf preserve today.
http://www.seacrestwolfpreserve.org/
It was such an amazing experience. we got to walk into three different enclosures, and did a 'through the fence' meet and greet with the rambunctious 10mo old timber wolves. We got up close and personal with the British Columbian wolves, Lots of rubbing and petting and scratching and kisses. One of the females knocked my man over and practically made out with him, nipping at his nose. I got lots of kisses too, and hugs. The Arctic wolves were shy and stayed away from everyone, and the timber wolf pups were too playful for us to go in the enclosure with. I still got lots of kisses through the fence.
Two things about the trip were amazing. Firstly, of course, was the experience of getting up close and personal with such amazing animals. They were friendly and adorable, but were at the same time in no way dogs or domesticated. It was very moving.
Secondly, what i found fairly mindblowing were some of the other people on the tour. The first enclosure had wolves who were shyer, and didn't come over to us. So all anyone would ask was 'when do we get to pet the wolves'. as if just being in an enclosure with wolves wandering around and checking us out wasn't utterly amazing enough. and kids. *sigh*
Luckily, the people at the preserve were pretty fantastic, and I really liked the way they had the place set up for the wolves, and the guests. It didn't have any of the ambiance of zoos, and really felt like the animals were the first and foremost concern, and educating guest second, rather than just a 'petting zoo' environment.
all in all, it was just amazing. :D

chronic illness and a calli.
General | Posted 15 years agoSo, I'm currently recovering from a chronic lyme infection, and slowly getting my life back through extensive use of antibiotics. and if you've ever been on antibiotics, you know they come with their own fun set of problems.
the short of it is that i've been mysteriously ill since 2005, no one could figure out what was wrong and i just kept getting worse, to the point that i was in constant pain and unable to think or stay awake....
random coincidence had me get my wisdom teeth removed and laser surgery on my eyes, both of which had me on a metric butt-ton of antibiotics. lo and behold, all my other symptoms started clearing up!
so i found a doctor willing to work with me and we both think it's lyme. the first round of treatment had me feeling like a normal human being again, but when it ended, everything came back. so it's on to round two. i'm getting there slowly.
i'll likely be getting my eyes re-lasered this summer, and hopefully since i'm being treated for the lyme my body will be capable of healing properly. even now, i find i'm healing from minor injuries better, and am less sensitive to things that used to put me in bed for days.
so that's where i am in my life. i'm hoping to get to a point where my health isn't fluctuating so i can start making commitments, possibly in the form of commissions. it's nice to finally have the energy to draw, but i'd hate to promise a piece to someone then have a bad relapse and be unable to deliver.
anyway, misery loves company, or it's nice to know that i'm not alone in the joys of crippling illnesses, so if you or a loved one has a chronic illness, or even a sucky acute illness that you'd like to share, go ahead. <3 here's hoping we all get better!

Humans?
General | Posted 15 years agoso, you guys wanna see some human type stuff or should i keep this place fur only?
inquiring minds want to know!

omg, that art meme~!
General | Posted 16 years agoWhat do you, as the audience, think that my art style says about me personally?
What type of feeling do you get from it, and what kind of feeling does that give you about me?
(These next two questions assume you actually know me. Only a few people on these boards do. So you may skip these last two.)
Do you think it describes my personality well?
If not, what do you think would reflect it better?
I'm really curious! I'd love any kind of reply, even an 'your art doesn't give me any impressions or feelings about you, the artist'. :D

eye trouble
General | Posted 16 years agoso my good health wasn't to last! my eyes aren't healing properly, and it's looking like i'll have to have another surgery. as of right now i'm looking at the world through a thick white haze, so my art is going to have to wait.
i'm still excited about the suggestions i got in my last journal so once i can see again, i WILL be doing those. i just want to be able to do them justice, and having sight is important for that. ;)

oekaki~
General | Posted 16 years agoi just moved, and my health is doing much better than it's been in a long while. i've got a drawing bug, but no ideas! so i figure i should get some light practice to break myself in.
So here's the deal!
First five people to give me a gender and an animal (with ref if it's something uncommon) will get an oekaki anthro piece. I don't mind OC either, as long as you've got some ref. I'd like to stretch my normal boundaries a little, so any kind of anthro is cool. nude or clothed, only one character per oekaki.
give me your ideas! *grabby hands*

home again
General | Posted 16 years agoI've been away for awhile. Sadly, I haven't been off creating art, but there's been a lot going on. I've moved, and gotten eye surgery, so now I can see!
Hopefully I'll find my muse again now that things are calming down. At the very least I have a TON of great art backlogged in my inbox to go through. ;)
I know I'm not hugely active here, but this is such a great community. I just wanted to thank you all for making this place such a pleasure to visit.

dA interview~
General | Posted 17 years agoSo I was asked to do an interview about anthro-oekaki work over at deviantArt. I thought some of you might be interested in checking it out. You can see it here:

Two things!
General | Posted 17 years agoJust two things I thought I'd mention while I was thinking of it.
1: I understand that some people are very picky and possessive of their characters (and thats understandable!) I have some characters I feel that way about, but Aoi is not one of them. So if you'd like to draw him, please be my guest! Don't worry about offending me, the best thing about Aoi is that you can do whatever you want to him and he bounces right back. ;) All I ask is that you show me when you're done. I <3 arts. :D
2: I'm pretty free with my art. If you'd like to use something of mine, just let me know and link back to me with credit. As long as it's not for profit, I'm cool with it. Share the love<3
You guys are awesome, coming to this site never fails to make me happy, Much love<333

General | Posted 17 years agoI'd like to say thank you to all my new watchers! I'm always flattered when people enjoy my work. I have to apologize for the lack of arts these days. I'm not as prolific as I once was, sadly.
On that note, I'm open to suggestions! Especially concerning Aoi, but other characters too. I can't guarantee I'll be able to do all, or any of them, but hey, maybe it'll help? :O

Expansion?
General | Posted 17 years agoI originally intended this to be an Aoi-only gallery, just to finally have a place to gather all my pics of him. But I'm slowly falling in love with this place. Everyone's been really sweet! So, I'm thinking of expanding this gallery to include other works, old and new, that don't really have a home in any of my other galleries.
I'm still not sure though! Is there interest in seeing other works? I kinda wish there was a folder system or something so i could sort aoi and other characters into their own places, but I guess its not too hard to sort through.
Anyway, thanks again for all the faves and comments. You guys are great. :D

intentions!
General | Posted 17 years agoI've not been drawing much, or even interneting (is that a word??) all that much. life has just been crazy. i do eventually want to post all my aoi arts here, it would be so nice to have them all in one localized gallery. i'm totally paranoid about flooding old art though (i don't know why) so it will probably trickle in until i can finally settle down and start producing some new pieces.
this place has been really fantastic so far. i love you guys <3

New home for Aoi.
General | Posted 18 years agoSo this is my new space for my favorite bunny Aoi. I'll be uploading some of my favorite older pieces, as well as anything new that happens to appear. Thanks for bearing with me!
