worldbuilding entry 0: i oopsed

i semi-accidentally rabbit holed some world building stuff and now im here making a solar system. i don't care about being super realistic, i want to have fun and do fun stuff. one of the things i wanted to do was have a double-binary star system.
that is, two sets of binary stars(a set of two stars orbiting a shared centre of mass) orbiting a shared centre of mass. now, binary stars, normally speaking, are STUPIDLY unstable and not even vaguely habitable but i don't care i want my planet to have 4 suns.
My logic, to make it semi-functional, was that the pair of stars the planet would orbit would both be class-g(same class as earth's sun), but on opposite ends of the weight class, so a super fat class-g and a super small class-g in each other's orbit. and that should mean that the orbiting planet will be fairly stable, since both stars are so similar and them switching places shouldnt fuck up anything too badly, like the planet's orbit.
but what about the other binary stars? now THATS gonna fuck shit up. but, i thought to myself, what if the average/total massiveness of both sets of binary stars were similar? would that re-balance things in such a way where is wouldn't actually be too fucky? perhaps, i men without doing the calculations it makes sense to me. but i didn't want more class-gs, so instead for the distant pair i made one star roughly 1.5x earth's sun's mass, and the other about half our sun's mass, since the pair orbited by the habitable planet are both pretty close to our sun being class-gs.
Then, I actually got my hands in a calculator, messing with the numbers as explained above. and the numbers(as far as i can tell) agree with me that it should be balanced. it's very unlikely to exist or be habitable irl but close enough for me to work with and just close my eyes about lol.
And when I say āagreeā, I mean they agree that the binary sets are roughly equal in total massiveness and thus the sets of binary stars should in a super crazy hypothetical sense be able to share a centre of mass that won't be too unstable or wonky.

oh, and to make it better - this whole thing happened because drawing is hard but writing point form about random ideas and pretending they fit together is slightly easier...
and also i;
- got back into conlanging and re-re-RE-revived my hyper-dead first ever conlang from the grave because im not yet giving up onShanituian Thipluch Chi'ithkikai (they tale of multiple revivals could be another journal)
- decided that i should make a Sun and Moon Show AU to use the language in(i could make another journal about that too)
- made another language that was meant to be an older 'cousin' to Chi'ithkikai (name not figured out yet)
- then rewatched everything Artifexian and Biblaridion every posted and got really sidetracked with the plan, and decided it not longer worked with the SAMS AU idea, so they are not separate, and that 'cousin' language for the AU is now going to be used as a religious language for this new worldbuilding disaster. its still going to have developed as a relative of Chi'ithkikai, but its not going to be used the same way at all.

(NOTE: this was written like.... months ago when ruin first came out and i just never finished it and now ive given up so its some of it is phrased like HW2 isnt out yet that's why.)

so, in regards to my predictions, I was right that Gregory wasn't the real Gregory, but I seem to be wrong that he's dead, and the real glamrock freddy's nowhere to be seen.
My overall thought on ruin is that it was very good in some aspects, and pretty meh in others.
the good:
The game overall is 100x more functional than the base game so props to steelwool.
The AR mask, as weird as it is, and as much as I don't have a damn clue why it's one of the rabbit masks from the books, it functions very nicely and generally doesn't have any issues and is very seamless. Didnāt have a clue that it was pulled off with two maps which is hella nifty.
the bad and the disappointing:
the gameplay is very repetitive, and the puzzles donāt really get any harder as you go along.
The Daycare Attendant and the Endos were some of the most interesting parts of the base game and despite being in the same area together, we get even less time with both. The ruined DA never chases you or is hostile, and the Endos are again for only one, even smaller section.
Regarding all enemies, most deaths are likely going to be on purpose, or because the kill boxes are weirdly big. You are almost never in any actual danger as the animatronics don't really free roam. the most danger you really ever get in is with Ruined Proto Freddy, or if you're really bad at avoiding Black Rabbit, ie taking the mask off as soon as you hear it's spawn sound. I do have a theory on why this is tho.

===== PQ/Brazil Ending Theory
I actually really like David Baronās theory that Ruin follows the Princess Quest ending, and that Glamrock Freddy is controlled by the Mimic. https://youtu.be/-LitsHXQpgc?t=1061 Helpi is constantly getting taken over by the Mimic(yellow eyes and black veins), and the Mimic uses Helpi to lure Cassie into the basement, and Freddy brought Greg down to the basement to Burntrap/Mimic. in the brazil ending, a take on the princess quest ending, freddy's head is gone and helpi is in his place instead.
another thing is, Freddy keeps just letting Gregory break his bandmates and take their upgrades to put into him. which is weird as he seems concerned when he finds out the upgrades are his friends but then doesn't say anything after seeing what happened to them.
===== Proto Freddy's Damage
Alternate idea regarding Freddy and the upgrades, i think that Proto Freddy might be as busted as he is because of the other Glamrocks mistaking him as the real Freddy and trying to get their parts back. Hes broken in the right places for this to be the case; head for Roxyās eyes, chest for Chicaās voice box, hands for Montyās claws.
===== Glamrock Bonnie's Death
Glamrock Bonnie's corpse does look like Monty's doing, having big green claw marks, HOWEVER. Monty is only described as being aggressive/destroying things AFTER he got Bonnie's hands, after Bonnie was killed. I don't think Monty could've done the damage we see on Bonnie prior to getting the claw upgrades. instead, i think it may have been Roxy. normally, the Glamrock's who have claws, have them on their casing, so when that casing breaks, their endo fingers are revealed. but when Roxy losing her hand casing, we see her claws go very far back on her fingers and are much bigger than what is visible with casing. as well, she seems to have always been aggressive, and much more importantly, competitive. it's possible she's the one who killed Bonnie, having lost bowling or something, and threw a bowling ball at his head before tearing him apart.
another thing to consider is the Wet Floor Signs surrounding Bonnie's corpse(assuming the corpse is even real to begin with). with them being deactivatable, i think its possible that they may be related to his death. It does appear they are part of the M.X.E.S system rather then working for the Mimic but both are possible. I'm still not sure what the Wet Floor Sign's existence even really means.
===== The Repeating of Birthdays
Eclipse says happy birthday to Cassie, Roxy remembers that it should be coming up and calls it āher special dayā, and entering the vent leading to the purple tunnel in Bonnie's green room you can hear Freddy and Roxy singing a birthday song. As well, Freddy has a green gift in his stomach hatch. With the mask on while in the salon, there are cutouts of Cassie crying and Gregory comforting her, as well as a lot of cutouts of Roxy. Like a lot of things in Ruin, i think itāll be explained later WHY birthdays and specifically Cassieās is so important in Ruin 2/SB 2/HW 2/etc. My guess is something happened on it, likely one of the two times she beat Roxy and the fact none of her friends other than Gregory showed. Seeing that her dad is mentioned 4 times, he sounds important, and my guess is her mom got disneyād the same day. or her dad got disney'd. one of the two.
===== Sun Knows Moon's Broken
In both SB and Ruin, Sun seems to know that something is wrong with the DAās system, discouraging the lights go off in SB, possibly because he can tell Moon's got whatever robot rabies that the Glamrocks and Vanny have, and is trying to keep Gregory safe even while heās malfunctioning. And in Ruin, he asks to be rebooted, knowing that he and Moon cannot function in the state they are. I mean, in SB Moon could still speak in proper sentences, in Ruin heās degraded to full Gollum.
Tbh, lowkey kinda funny that none of SB or Ruin wouldāve happened if some guy just put his wrench in the wrench hole and turned it 90 degrees to the left, so the DA was working properly and Gregory could stay in the daycare till morning without worry. But now he has to go kill his friend's dog and everything goes to shit. Good job man. lol.
===== Eclipse's Role
Eclipse seems to still not understand the true state of the pizzaplex, but seems content seeing Cassie as evidence that thereās still kids around. The question is what happens when Eclipse realizes that the kids arenāt coming back.
its also interesting how both Roxy and Eclipse are the only two who arent violent towards cassie and both of them respond to her with "happy birthday"
eclipse's safety mode isn't a "safe mode" like a regular computer. Safety mode is about protecting kids around you. I think eclipse was his safety mode from when he was an actor. Sun and Moon are his acting modes not meant to babysit, assuming that the books are to be considered. The virus forced the animatronics to disregard safety mode which should be active when children are going to be touching or close to the animatronic. its possible that Eclipse is the actual daycare attendant that interacts with the kids the majority of the day & ensures their safety as they play.
We know that Freddy has both a low-power ārest modeā, and āsafe modeā, when he turns on right at the start of SB, and he says "showtime already? But the recharge cycle hasn't finished". Freddy also doesnāt act like he seems to on stage as compared to the game, and the same can be seen with Roxy in Ruin, sheās cold and pretty mean, but once around what she registers as guests, she becomes rather kind and is no longer hostile, but also doesn't act like she does on stage or in the announcement in roxy raceway when you first enter it in SB. this becomes apparent after she hears Cassie's voice and replies "oh, im sorry, i, error".
this means that the animatronics have at least three modes, 'rest mode' to save power, 'safe mode' when on the floor or near guests, and a 'stage mode' of some kind where they are in character for the stage.
when the DA is rebooted, eclipse doesn't seem to have awoken from 'rest mode', and has to enter a new 'safety mode' when he sees Cassie and notes she's not safe. so when he woke up he must've either been in 'safe mode' or 'stage mode'. tbh, i think eclipse saying 'safety mode' made have just been a mistake, or a retcon yb the writers, and eclipse *is* in 'safe mode', or freddy was in 'safety mode'.
i think the Da having another mode like this would be odd.
alternatively, this is a sort of retcon from the books, where its mentioned that sun and moon were from the theater and got moved to the daycare but reprogramming is expensive so they just kept the lights on 24/7, but Ruin seems to imply that they added a new ai altogether to ensure the kids' safety.
Other things I noticed:
===== Who can see you in the Security Mask
Although the Endos and Glamrocks canāt see you in the mask and need to be lead by Black Rabbit, both the wet floor signs and the Ruined DA can see you, which makes sense as the floor signs seem linked to M.X.E.S., and in the base game Moon knew that you were in Freddy and itād be weird if Moon knew but Sun didnāt. I'm not sure what this means but it's certainly concerning imo
===== Ruined Daycare Attendant
During the daycare section, in the real world, Moon is in control, but in AR, Sun is. Sun also says that he is 'trapped in a nap' and sings about such while you have the mask on. i think what's happening, despite the DAās appearance, is that Moon has all or at least most of the control of the body in reality, and the AR mask just allows Cassie to speak with Sun because of Fnaf technomagic, hence why Sun says he's 'trapped in a nap'. he has little to no control of the body because its too dark.
Whatās interesting is that, we see that if you approach the DA with no generators on, Moon attacks you no problem, but turn just one on and Sunās already got enough control to at least try and hold him back(albeit he fails). This seems to confirm the the DAās current state is based on surrounding light levels and not linked to the actual daycare lights themself.
===== Moon and the Flashlight
Related to the above note, Moon āsuddenlyā being hurt by a mere flashlight, the DAās faceplate is totally broken over both eyes, which with how Moon covers his one working eye, implies that their eyes are extra sensitive, and the faceplate protected their eyes so the switching could occur without issue.
===== Teeth
The ruined Da's endo teeth look VERY similar to the mimic's teeth. I'm like 99% sure it means nothing but like... this is fnaf. anything could mean anything at this point. i just hope my clowns aren't afton or book evil. they can be evil on their own terms. plz. redeem moon. he didn't need the virus/vanny. he culdve just killed kiddos for funsies. plz fnaf.
things im guessing for the future:
Ruin feels like half of a game, half of a story, and I think that's because it is. i think we'll have a 'ruin 2' of sorts, and we'll be Cassie with roxy as our help to get back out of the pizzaplex. I'm not sure which ending is canon, but either way it'd be roughly the same thing; get out of the hole, and more or less back track through the place. although, the mimic can be heard copying roxy's voice and saying "cassie", so roxy calling cassie's name at the end of the elevator ending is more likely mimic than roxy.
To me at least, ruin was disappointing because I expected a full story but didn't really get one. SBās endings, even with how broken the actual game was, with the plot holes, with its unexplained events and actions, still felt like full stories with a beginning and an end. Itās part of why weāve spent so long trying to determine which ending is the cannon one. Ruinās endings don't feel complete, not as is the game is unfinished like SB, but that they aren't the ending of a story. And I think that's because they arenāt. Ruinās endings feel like the end not of a story, but of a prologue. And seeing ruin in this light, as a prologue, explains so much about the dlc itself.
why the enemies are so easy to deal with, why we spend so little time with the animatronics, why roxy and cassieās relationship is just thrown at us, why it's so unclear which ending ruin continues from, why the mimic is just there and why gregory abandons us in at least the elevator ending. Ruin isn't the story, it's the setup. Weāre going to get a ruin 2 or SB 2 or sorts that will explain what the hellās going on.
Due to there being evidence of multiple SB endings, making unclear which is the real one, and Gregory's comics, I think that the canon ending to SB is a mix of multiple, as there's evidence most notably of VIP, Princess Quest, and Afton.
headcannons until later:
regarding the attendant. I've already complained about the actual gameplay regarding the ruined Da. I think that eclipse is another ai of the Da, but fell out of use for some reason and similar to glamrock bonnie, was scrubbed from the pizzaplex. i think that eclipse was meant to function as a mediator between sun and moon, not a fusion of them. In the base game, moon is noted to scare the kids, and sun doesn't seem to be reassuring to them either, likely because he's too hyper and like moon is pretty strict with the rules. I mean when Gregory gets banned, sun up and throws him. but eclipse despite sounding like he's got a 100 mile stare at all times, seems like he'd keep sun and moon level-headed.

HW2 REVIEW

just wanna say before anything else, please. for the love of god and satan and everything inbetween, HW1 is an in-universe parody of FazEnt.'s crimes and characters and shouldn't be seen as scott/steelwool 'reconning' things about animatronic behaviors. one that bothers me is from the fnaf movie and HW1. in one of the games of HW, Cirucs baby is shown with glowing red eyes, which she doesn't have in SL. people thought this was some kind of like... proof that the classics having red eyes makes sense. But baby had red eyes in... ya know, HELP WANTED. which i've already stated is an in-universe parody made by FazEnt. FazEnt doesnt care about how the animatronic actually functioned, and i'm repeating this cus 1) is just bothers the fuck out of me and 2) a clip in HW2's trailer showed a flashlight effecting Moon, which is inaccurate.
im not saying that you cant *consider* what's shown in HW1/2 for theories, just take a bigger grain of salt with them than with other games, kinda like FNAF World. These games are not super reliable sources, but saying to disregard them entirely would make me a hypocrite, as i do like how some characters are portrayed in these games.(although i will say, HW2 is far closer to the actual lore and more literal and universe accurate(which is very nice to see) than HW1, which was more FNAF World-ish)
oh yeah also im typing this out as i watch a streamer play it so things might be written funky.
=====Other
Did not expect Funtime Chica on the start menu or her cupcake for the death screens what. also i think Baby was made shorter which is oddly. also the funtimes are not shiny enough mfers look grubby lol.
neat minigame layout tho.
Winning screen cupcake's eyes follow you. spoopy.

FazForce should be a real toy set.
getting the 6th one causes the player(whom i think is Vanessa but im not sure) to see a memory of Mask Bot giving Cassie the ARMask is very odd. and then is leads right into the credits? wot. good credits music tho.
=====Carousel
ok so this is the minigame where you flash Moon. which obviously isn't accurate to how he functions in the regular games/real life(to HW that is). Sun and Moon in SB are shown to not be effected by lights of any kind, which is fair since their gimmick is light-based. lights on, sun. lights off, moon. simple. HOWEVER in Ruin a simple flashlight does hurt Moon, and brighter spotlights stunlock him in place. Why does this happen? well if you'd look at the DA's face, you'll notice that the casing over both eyes is broken, exposing the eyes and light sensors fully, which for Sun and Moon are likely more sensitive than normal/have a larger range so they can gimmick, while the casing protects it enough that if Sun stands in a shadow he wont become Moon, and flashlights to the face wont turn Moon into Sun. Without the casing, they have no such protection, hence why Cassie's light suddenly hurts Moon.
HW2 isnt meant to be accurate, its like... part of the experience. So Unruined Moon being hurt by a flashlight in this game doesn't bloody mean anything.
Carousel: Slightly Sassy Sun is also not expected but fully welcome. he do sounds a bit weird tho. wish moon did a little more talking and little less laughing but that's just me.
moon's got an alright but not too spooky jumpscare, at least it looks like he's actually killing you. also the SB jumpscare scream is doing him and also no one else ANY favours lmao.
also, the actual minigame is fucking SICK bro. 200/10 clowning right there.
also you can throw a pumpkin at moon and get the trophy "harvest moon"
Cinder: same game but spicier, including Jack-o-Moon. 210/10 spicy clowning.
=====Foxy log ride

at the end of job interview, Circus Baby walks up to you and gently asks that you have some icecream(if you don't take it she kills you). at the end of the non-cannon staff-bot ending, POV we are Maskbot and we give cassie a mask. and then there's Candy Cadet's story about the girl being lured by a kind voice. just pointing this out cus ooo spooky linked lore stuff that i don't really know what it actually means. um, i really, REALLY don't wanna say its "i always come back", cus that implies that the vanny/PQIV/claw machine ending ISNT cannon and afton's not perma-dead, which would suck major balls my dude.
Mystic Hippo is cool, neat to see a (mostly) normal animatronic lol.
however its VERY sensitive and takes an awful long time to figure out which card you picked. also astralspiff (the guy i watched) had so much copium that something would happen other than picking the cards lmao.
Finishing the msgs will also place the doll next to where the msg was spray-painted, and the image will be buffed out.
Following "noB a knoB tliT" msg on the arcade next to the cupcake claw machine, play bonk a bon: bonus round and when the machine tilts, inserting the repair code backwards gets you the "remember Jeremy?" achievement. iirc, Jeremy is the nightguard from fnaf2 and/or the bite of 87 victim? you also get a doll with a bonnie mask.
Following the msg by the confection corner, by playing fizzyfaz night 3 and pouring the sodaroni as well as one of each flavour, gets you the "graveyard shift" achievement, and sending it as an order gives you a doll with a freddy mask on it.
Following the ballora msg by the advertisement displays, by playing office: puppet master there's a drawer in the desk with a keypad. inserting the date "1983" gets you a doll with a puppet mask on it and no achievement.
Following the msg above Mystic Hippe of Helpy, playing Foxy's Log Ride and hitting the helpy signs to change route and hit some stars to turn them blue will get you a doll with a foxy mask on it.
Following the chica heads in trashcan msg, playing Fazbear theater and placing all chica themed items into the trash will reward you a doll with a chica mask on it.
Following the tentacle rocket msg by the Faz Force toys, playing all Fazerblast levels in order and in each, shoot the rocket. in the first level, the rocket is the last one you see, in western its behind the train, in fnaf1 its in the office section and in fnaf2 instead of a rocket, you have to follow the animatronics on the cams and "kill" them when they're in the vents. once you've done this, a haystack and a barrel will fall down, and Carnie will say "that there's a fire hazard", until the end of FNAF2 where the place will burst into flames. This will unlock Fazerblast:FNAF3.
returning to Mystic Hippo with give you a glitched coin, to insert into PQIV.
Completing PQIV resulting in killing yourself, and then you get the play PQ in first person. this includes lighting grave torches with each of the 5 dolls. then, if I'm understanding correctly, you give the king the mask, and he gives you a green rabbit doll, and you head down to the SL location, then you get brought into a claw machine full of random stuffies, and Vanny's watching you, and Moon is the claw?? you get the achievement 'Consequences', sure. and then you give them the green rabbit??? Moon says "naughty naughty" as he drops it into the rewards shute and Vanny pulls out Glitchtrap???? and then kills him????? AND THEN THE CREDITS ROLL??????????????? whu... what fever dream did i wake up in???????
i mean good to see that Afton is done and over with and we finally have new main villains in the form of Vanny and Mimic.
weird side thing, lighting the torches in the order of the dolls (bonnie chica foxy freddy puppet) rather than by number will let you move on, and give you a secret with a classic bonnie mask, with the text "this looks familiar" and the trophy "lost luggage". thing only thing this makes me think of is Cassie's dad, who through the Ruin collectibles in implies to really like bonnie.
Candy Cadet does shed light on wtf IS happening so that's good.
Candy Cadet's second story talks of a young girl being led astray by a friendly voice so its def about Vanessa and Glitchtrap/Afton, with the 'scar' being the Virus.
Candy Cadet's third story continues to explain the she returns to the forest to get revenge. Greeted by a young boy(Gregory) to offered her to help. but then the 'oven door closes', which i think is to mean that the 'witch' is either; glitchtrap, vanny, or mimic. i don't think its mimic as mimic only interacts properly with Cassie, not Vanessa or Greg. glitchtrap doesn't make sense along with the claw machine and us looking at Vanny as she kills glitchtrap considering we are Vanessa, so the 'witch' must be Vanny taking Glitchtrap's place in the story.
all of this nonsense basically confirms that PQ Ending is the canon ending to SB, and Brazil Ending might be the canon ending to Ruin, and that in HW2 we are playing as Vanessa between the two games.
and in other news, the credits music is basically perfect. it feels concubinary but still with questions to be asked. i really really really fucking like it. its also makes it oddly emotional?????? no explanation for that one. maybe just sheer happiness to have any kind of feeling of 'the end' in a fnaf game? the feeling of moving on? of closure of any kind?

so, in regards to my predictions, I was right that Gregory wasn't the real Gregory, but I seem to be wrong that he's dead, and the real glamrock freddy's nowhere to be seen.
My overall thought on ruin is that it was very good in some aspects, and pretty meh in others.
the good:
The game overall is 100x more functional than the base game so props to steelwool.
The AR mask, as weird as it is, and as much as I don't have a damn clue why it's one of the rabbit masks from the books, it functions very nicely and generally doesn't have any issues and is very seamless. Didnāt have a clue that it was pulled off with two maps which is hella nifty.
the bad and the disappointing:
the gameplay is very repetitive, and the puzzles donāt really get any harder as you go along.
The Daycare Attendant and the Endos were some of the most interesting parts of the base game and despite being in the same area together, we get even less time with both. The ruined DA never chases you or is hostile, and the Endos are again for only one, even smaller section.
Regarding all enemies, most deaths are likely going to be on purpose, or because the kill boxes are weirdly big. You are almost never in any actual danger as the animatronics don't really free roam. the most danger you really ever get in is with Ruined Proto Freddy, or if you're really bad at avoiding Black Rabbit, ie taking the mask off as soon as you hear it's spawn sound. I do have a theory on why this is tho.

===== PQ/Brazil Ending Theory
I actually really like David Baronās theory that Ruin follows the Princess Quest ending, and that Glamrock Freddy is controlled by the Mimic. https://youtu.be/-LitsHXQpgc?t=1061 Helpi is constantly getting taken over by the Mimic(yellow eyes and black veins), and the Mimic uses Helpi to lure Cassie into the basement, and Freddy brought Greg down to the basement to Burntrap/Mimic. in the brazil ending, a take on the princess quest ending, freddy's head is gone and helpi is in his place instead.
another thing is, Freddy keeps just letting Gregory break his bandmates and take their upgrades to put into him. which is weird as he seems concerned when he finds out the upgrades are his friends but then doesn't say anything after seeing what happened to them.
===== Proto Freddy's Damage
Alternate idea regarding Freddy and the upgrades, i think that Proto Freddy might be as busted as he is because of the other Glamrocks mistaking him as the real Freddy and trying to get their parts back. Hes broken in the right places for this to be the case; head for Roxyās eyes, chest for Chicaās voice box, hands for Montyās claws.
===== Glamrock Bonnie's Death
Glamrock Bonnie's corpse does look like Monty's doing, having big green claw marks, HOWEVER. Monty is only described as being aggressive/destroying things AFTER he got Bonnie's hands, after Bonnie was killed. I don't think Monty could've done the damage we see on Bonnie prior to getting the claw upgrades. instead, i think it may have been Roxy. normally, the Glamrock's who have claws, have them on their casing, so when that casing breaks, their endo fingers are revealed. but when Roxy losing her hand casing, we see her claws go very far back on her fingers and are much bigger than what is visible with casing. as well, she seems to have always been aggressive, and much more importantly, competitive. it's possible she's the one who killed Bonnie, having lost bowling or something, and threw a bowling ball at his head before tearing him apart.
another thing to consider is the Wet Floor Signs surrounding Bonnie's corpse(assuming the corpse is even real to begin with). with them being deactivatable, i think its possible that they may be related to his death. It does appear they are part of the M.X.E.S system rather then working for the Mimic but both are possible. I'm still not sure what the Wet Floor Sign's existence even really means.
===== The Repeating of Birthdays
Eclipse says happy birthday to Cassie, Roxy remembers that it should be coming up and calls it āher special dayā, and entering the vent leading to the purple tunnel in Bonnie's green room you can hear Freddy and Roxy singing a birthday song. As well, Freddy has a green gift in his stomach hatch. With the mask on while in the salon, there are cutouts of Cassie crying and Gregory comforting her, as well as a lot of cutouts of Roxy. Like a lot of things in Ruin, i think itāll be explained later WHY birthdays and specifically Cassieās is so important in Ruin 2/SB 2/HW 2/etc. My guess is something happened on it, likely one of the two times she beat Roxy and the fact none of her friends other than Gregory showed. Seeing that her dad is mentioned 4 times, he sounds important, and my guess is her mom got disneyād the same day. or her dad got disney'd. one of the two.
===== Sun Knows Moon's Broken
In both SB and Ruin, Sun seems to know that something is wrong with the DAās system, discouraging the lights go off in SB, possibly because he can tell Moon's got whatever robot rabies that the Glamrocks and Vanny have, and is trying to keep Gregory safe even while heās malfunctioning. And in Ruin, he asks to be rebooted, knowing that he and Moon cannot function in the state they are. I mean, in SB Moon could still speak in proper sentences, in Ruin heās degraded to full Gollum.
Tbh, lowkey kinda funny that none of SB or Ruin wouldāve happened if some guy just put his wrench in the wrench hole and turned it 90 degrees to the left, so the DA was working properly and Gregory could stay in the daycare till morning without worry. But now he has to go kill his friend's dog and everything goes to shit. Good job man. lol.
===== Eclipse's Role
Eclipse seems to still not understand the true state of the pizzaplex, but seems content seeing Cassie as evidence that thereās still kids around. The question is what happens when Eclipse realizes that the kids arenāt coming back.
its also interesting how both Roxy and Eclipse are the only two who arent violent towards cassie and both of them respond to her with "happy birthday"
eclipse's safety mode isn't a "safe mode" like a regular computer. Safety mode is about protecting kids around you. I think eclipse was his safety mode from when he was an actor. Sun and Moon are his acting modes not meant to babysit, assuming that the books are to be considered. The virus forced the animatronics to disregard safety mode which should be active when children are going to be touching or close to the animatronic. its possible that Eclipse is the actual daycare attendant that interacts with the kids the majority of the day & ensures their safety as they play.
We know that Freddy has both a low-power ārest modeā, and āsafe modeā, when he turns on right at the start of SB, and he says "showtime already? But the recharge cycle hasn't finished". Freddy also doesnāt act like he seems to on stage as compared to the game, and the same can be seen with Roxy in Ruin, sheās cold and pretty mean, but once around what she registers as guests, she becomes rather kind and is no longer hostile, but also doesn't act like she does on stage or in the announcement in roxy raceway when you first enter it in SB. this becomes apparent after she hears Cassie's voice and replies "oh, im sorry, i, error".
this means that the animatronics have at least three modes, 'rest mode' to save power, 'safe mode' when on the floor or near guests, and a 'stage mode' of some kind where they are in character for the stage.
when the DA is rebooted, eclipse doesn't seem to have awoken from 'rest mode', and has to enter a new 'safety mode' when he sees Cassie and notes she's not safe. so when he woke up he must've either been in 'safe mode' or 'stage mode'. tbh, i think eclipse saying 'safety mode' made have just been a mistake, or a retcon yb the writers, and eclipse *is* in 'safe mode', or freddy was in 'safety mode'.
i think the Da having another mode like this would be odd.
alternatively, this is a sort of retcon from the books, where its mentioned that sun and moon were from the theater and got moved to the daycare but reprogramming is expensive so they just kept the lights on 24/7, but Ruin seems to imply that they added a new ai altogether to ensure the kids' safety.
Other things I noticed:
===== Who can see you in the Security Mask
Although the Endos and Glamrocks canāt see you in the mask and need to be lead by Black Rabbit, both the wet floor signs and the Ruined DA can see you, which makes sense as the floor signs seem linked to M.X.E.S., and in the base game Moon knew that you were in Freddy and itād be weird if Moon knew but Sun didnāt. I'm not sure what this means but it's certainly concerning imo
===== Ruined Daycare Attendant
During the daycare section, in the real world, Moon is in control, but in AR, Sun is. Sun also says that he is 'trapped in a nap' and sings about such while you have the mask on. i think what's happening, despite the DAās appearance, is that Moon has all or at least most of the control of the body in reality, and the AR mask just allows Cassie to speak with Sun because of Fnaf technomagic, hence why Sun says he's 'trapped in a nap'. he has little to no control of the body because its too dark.
Whatās interesting is that, we see that if you approach the DA with no generators on, Moon attacks you no problem, but turn just one on and Sunās already got enough control to at least try and hold him back(albeit he fails). This seems to confirm the the DAās current state is based on surrounding light levels and not linked to the actual daycare lights themself.
===== Moon and the Flashlight
Related to the above note, Moon āsuddenlyā being hurt by a mere flashlight, the DAās faceplate is totally broken over both eyes, which with how Moon covers his one working eye, implies that their eyes are extra sensitive, and the faceplate protected their eyes so the switching could occur without issue.
===== Teeth
The ruined Da's endo teeth look VERY similar to the mimic's teeth. I'm like 99% sure it means nothing but like... this is fnaf. anything could mean anything at this point. i just hope my clowns aren't afton or book evil. they can be evil on their own terms. plz. redeem moon. he didn't need the virus/vanny. he culdve just killed kiddos for funsies. plz fnaf.
things im guessing for the future:
Ruin feels like half of a game, half of a story, and I think that's because it is. i think we'll have a 'ruin 2' of sorts, and we'll be Cassie with roxy as our help to get back out of the pizzaplex. I'm not sure which ending is canon, but either way it'd be roughly the same thing; get out of the hole, and more or less back track through the place. although, the mimic can be heard copying roxy's voice and saying "cassie", so roxy calling cassie's name at the end of the elevator ending is more likely mimic than roxy.
To me at least, ruin was disappointing because I expected a full story but didn't really get one. SBās endings, even with how broken the actual game was, with the plot holes, with its unexplained events and actions, still felt like full stories with a beginning and an end. Itās part of why weāve spent so long trying to determine which ending is the cannon one. Ruinās endings don't feel complete, not as is the game is unfinished like SB, but that they aren't the ending of a story. And I think that's because they arenāt. Ruinās endings feel like the end not of a story, but of a prologue. And seeing ruin in this light, as a prologue, explains so much about the dlc itself.
why the enemies are so easy to deal with, why we spend so little time with the animatronics, why roxy and cassieās relationship is just thrown at us, why it's so unclear which ending ruin continues from, why the mimic is just there and why gregory abandons us in at least the elevator ending. Ruin isn't the story, it's the setup. Weāre going to get a ruin 2 or SB 2 or sorts that will explain what the hellās going on.
Due to there being evidence of multiple SB endings, making unclear which is the real one, and Gregory's comics, I think that the canon ending to SB is a mix of multiple, as there's evidence most notably of VIP, Princess Quest, and Afton.
headcannons until later:
regarding the attendant. I've already complained about the actual gameplay regarding the ruined Da. I think that eclipse is another ai of the Da, but fell out of use for some reason and similar to glamrock bonnie, was scrubbed from the pizzaplex. i think that eclipse was meant to function as a mediator between sun and moon, not a fusion of them. In the base game, moon is noted to scare the kids, and sun doesn't seem to be reassuring to them either, likely because he's too hyper and like moon is pretty strict with the rules. I mean when Gregory gets banned, sun up and throws him. but eclipse despite sounding like he's got a 100 mile stare at all times, seems like he'd keep sun and moon level-headed.

just wanna say before anything else, please. for the love of god and satan and everything inbetween, HW1 is an in-universe parody of FazEnt.'s crimes and characters and shouldn't be seen as scott/steelwool 'reconning' things about animatronic behaviors. one that bothers me is from the fnaf movie and HW1. in one of the games of HW, Cirucs baby is shown with glowing red eyes, which she doesn't have in SL. people thought this was some kind of like... proof that the classics having red eyes makes sense. But baby had red eyes in... ya know, HELP WANTED. which i've already stated is an in-universe parody made by FazEnt. FazEnt doesnt care about how the animatronic actually functioned, and i'm repeating this cus 1) is just bothers the fuck out of me and 2) a clip in HW2's trailer showed a flashlight effecting Moon, which is inaccurate.
im not saying that you cant *consider* what's shown in HW1/2 for theories, just take a bigger grain of salt with them than with other games, kinda like FNAF World. These games are not super reliable sources, but saying to disregard them entirely would make me a hypocrite, as i do like how some characters are portrayed in these games.(although i will say, HW2 is far closer to the actual lore and more literal and universe accurate(which is very nice to see) than HW1, which was more FNAF World-ish)

=====Carousel
ok so this is the minigame where you flash Moon. which obviously isn't accurate to how he functions in the regular games/real life(to HW that is). Sun and Moon in SB are shown to not be effected by lights of any kind, which is fair since their gimmick is light-based. lights on, sun. lights off, moon. simple. HOWEVER in Ruin a simple flashlight does hurt Moon, and brighter spotlights stunlock him in place. Why does this happen? well if you'd look at the DA's face, you'll notice that the casing over both eyes is broken, exposing the eyes and light sensors fully, which for Sun and Moon are likely more sensitive than normal/have a larger range so they can gimmick, while the casing protects it enough that if Sun stands in a shadow he wont become Moon, and flashlights to the face wont turn Moon into Sun. Without the casing, they have no such protection, hence why Cassie's light suddenly hurts Moon.
HW2 isnt meant to be accurate, its like... part of the experience. So Unruined Moon being hurt by a flashlight in this game doesn't bloody mean anything.
Carousel: Slightly Sassy Sun is also not expected but fully welcome. he do sounds a bit weird tho. wish moon did a little more talking and little less laughing but that's just me.

circus baby, moon, and mystic hippo all ask "what makes you so special?". i feel like some more did as well but i cant recall.
at the end of job interview, Circus Baby walks up to you and gently asks that you have some icecream(if you don't take it she kills you). at the end of the non-cannon staff-bot ending, POV we are Maskbot and we give cassie a mask. and then there's Candy Cadet's story about the girl being lured by a kind voice. just pointing this out cus ooo spooky linked lore stuff that i don't really know what it actually means. um, i really, REALLY don't wanna say its "i always come back", cus that implies that the vanny/PQIV/claw machine ending ISNT cannon and afton's not perma-dead, which would suck major balls my dude.
Mystic Hippo is cool, neat to see a (mostly) normal animatronic lol.
however its VERY sensitive and takes an awful long time to figure out which card you picked. also astralspiff (the guy i watched) had so much copium that something would happen other than picking the cards lmao.
Finishing the msgs will also place the doll next to where the msg was spray-painted, and the image will be buffed out.
Following "noB a knoB tliT" msg on the arcade next to the cupcake claw machine, play bonk a bon: bonus round and when the machine tilts, inserting the repair code backwards gets you the "remember Jeremy?" achievement. iirc, Jeremy is the nightguard from fnaf2 and/or the bite of 87 victim? you also get a doll with a bonnie mask.
Following the msg by the confection corner, by playing fizzyfaz night 3 and pouring the sodaroni as well as one of each flavour, gets you the "graveyard shift" achievement, and sending it as an order gives you a doll with a freddy mask on it.
Following the ballora msg by the advertisement displays, by playing office: puppet master there's a drawer in the desk with a keypad. inserting the date "1983" gets you a doll with a puppet mask on it and no achievement.
Following the msg above Mystic Hippe of Helpy, playing Foxy's Log Ride and hitting the helpy signs to change route and hit some stars to turn them blue will get you a doll with a foxy mask on it.
Following the chica heads in trashcan msg, playing Fazbear theater and placing all chica themed items into the trash will reward you a doll with a chica mask on it.
Following the tentacle rocket msg by the Faz Force toys, playing all Fazerblast levels in order and in each, shoot the rocket. in the first level, the rocket is the last one you see, in western its behind the train, in fnaf1 its in the office section and in fnaf2 instead of a rocket, you have to follow the animatronics on the cams and "kill" them when they're in the vents. once you've done this, a haystack and a barrel will fall down, and Carnie will say "that there's a fire hazard", until the end of FNAF2 where the place will burst into flames. This will unlock Fazerblast:FNAF3.
returning to Mystic Hippo with give you a glitched coin, to insert into PQIV.
Completing PQIV resulting in killing yourself, and then you get the play PQ in first person. this includes lighting grave torches with each of the 5 dolls. then, if I'm understanding correctly, you give the king the mask, and he gives you a green rabbit doll, and you head down to the SL location, then you get brought into a claw machine full of random stuffies, and Vanny's watching you, and Moon is the claw?? you get the achievement 'Consequences', sure. and then you give them the green rabbit??? Moon says "naughty naughty" as he drops it into the rewards shute and Vanny pulls out Glitchtrap???? and then kills him????? AND THEN THE CREDITS ROLL??????????????? whu... what fever dream did i wake up in???????
i mean good to see that Afton is done and over with and we finally have new main villains in the form of Vanny and Mimic.
weird side thing, lighting the torches in the order of the dolls (bonnie chica foxy freddy puppet) rather than by number will let you move on, and give you a secret with a classic bonnie mask, with the text "this looks familiar" and the trophy "lost luggage". thing only thing this makes me think of is Cassie's dad, who through the Ruin collectibles in implies to really like bonnie.
Candy Cadet does shed light on wtf IS happening so that's good.
Candy Cadet's second story talks of a young girl being led astray by a friendly voice so its def about Vanessa and Glitchtrap/Afton, with the 'scar' being the Virus.
Candy Cadet's third story continues to explain the she returns to the forest to get revenge. Greeted by a young boy(Gregory) to offered her to help. but then the 'oven door closes', which i think is to mean that the 'witch' is either; glitchtrap, vanny, or mimic. i don't think its mimic as mimic only interacts properly with Cassie, not Vanessa or Greg. glitchtrap doesn't make sense along with the claw machine and us looking at Vanny as she kills glitchtrap considering we are Vanessa, so the 'witch' must be Vanny taking Glitchtrap's place in the story.
all of this nonsense basically confirms that PQ Ending is the canon ending to SB, and Brazil Ending might be the canon ending to Ruin, and that in HW2 we are playing as Vanessa between the two games.
and in other news, the credits music is basically perfect. it feels concubinary but still with questions to be asked. i really really really fucking like it. its also makes it oddly emotional?????? no explanation for that one. maybe just sheer happiness to have any kind of feeling of 'the end' in a fnaf game? the feeling of moving on? of closure of any kind?

i hope that the Ruin DLC follows the Afton ending(ik that Burntrap's probably actually Mimic not William but shh), but its a bad ending. Cassy spends the whole game running around the PizzaPlex looking for/talking to Gregory, but never finds him. Until she gets to Roxy Raceway, where she finds his body. We get a cutscene where she looks at Glamrock Freddy and he's got those Fnaf 1 possession eyes, and Gregory say 'Hi' through him.
This would kick off a new era/story line for Fnaf, where the whole old cast(William, Michael, Elisabeth/Circus Baby, Cassidy, Henry, Charlotte/Puppet, etc) are all dead and Vanny/Glitchtrap and/or Mimic replace William's role, Cassy(or someone else idk) replaces Mike, and Gregory and GR Freddy replace Charlotte and Puppet. And maybe they could even tie the books in a little more by having the new cast meet the Charlie robot from the books. idk.
tl;dr, steelwool will use ruin to fix/change/do anything to the plot. there is a 99.99% chance they will not.
