Alive and Somewhat Active? + Update
Posted 3 years agoSo I haven't really touched this site in, heck, 2-3 years? But just recently started randomly checking in here and there on here.
I could possibly upload some art, newer fursuit pics, etc but that would be at a later date.
Life has been busy and stressful as fuck as of recently. Dealing with a sudden move in the next month and a half, so having to pack up our current place during the busiest/most stressful time at my work.
No MFF for me this year bc the work I currently do, December is our big end of year main event and I help lead a lot of prep for it, so I can't take any time off. We'll see if I might be able to swing MFF in the future, but it may be another year or two before it's a possibility.
I've had little to zero drive (and time) to create/sew/draw, so I really don't have a lot to post, other than what I haven't caught up here in the last couple of years. Unfortunately I lost a lot of my drive after dating my toxic ex a few years ago. He tried to force me to quit/leave the fandom, but only wanted me to continue to make tails/etc because it was cash flow. So there was no feeling to it. No enjoyment.
I'll probably be posting a couple things here though as I'm trying to sell a partial suit and a foam base, trying to help us raise some funds for the move and clear out my hoard that I've held onto for years.
If I can get my groove back, I might open for commissions again, but it will be limited slots, no rush orders, that sort of thing.
This ended up being a lot more of a ramble than I planned but its also 2am and I'm awake now after taking migraine meds that have caffeine in em. Oops.
So yeah tl;dr I'm alive, mostly here to browse, not really post much anymore. Possibly in the future might update my gallery with art/finished work from the last couple years. Shit's been stressful but life goes on

Update + MCFC Meme
Posted 6 years agoHey all! I'm not dead, I promise. Things have been...interesting to say the least. A lot of ups, a few downs. I moved up into management at my current job, which unfortunately keeps me pretty busy. I've not been able to work on much for projects due to either working or being home, too exhausted to do much of anything.
Unfortunately as of recently, my roomie ( kitsuma-kun ) and I will be looking to move sooner than planned. Looking at moving to the north side of Indiana, by Elkhart/Goshen. Long story short, the house we're currently living in is being sold from under us (we're not renters or in any sort of legal agreement, but it was sprung upon us with very little notice). It stinks because I do like my job, but I would have to transfer to a new store when we move. But it gives me the chance to also look for a new job, something that I know I like.
Plus, I will be closer to my partners, so I can see them more often. Rather than the maybe once a month we have right now.
I may try to mass upload all the art I've had commissioned/done in the last year since I updated.
But! MCFC! I will be there!!!! Haven't been since, what, 2016? Very excited to see the new hotel (though I am a little sad about not being across the street from Taco Bell), see friends, make new ones, and make lots of good memories <3

Posted 7 years agoI swear I'm not dead! Just been very busy after I moved and started a new job. Where I'm currently moving into management and doing all of the training and classes for it. So been a very busy panda recently! One of these days I'll spam all of the art I've been getting ^^'
And yes, I WILL be at MFF this year! For sure!
I'll be getting there Thursday night with kitsuma-kun and then staying with lunabrony and batterypowered in the main hotel <3
My plans are to have a good time, spend time with friends, maybe catch a rave or two. But just be there. Be able to enjoy my time with my friends and just have that back in my life. I'm really sad I couldn't make it last year (due to personal issues, that are thankfully way over). But this year is gonna be amazing, I can feel it!
So if you wanna meet up or anything, best bet would be to message me via Telegram or Twitter (both @CaptainCandro) but I can't make any promises. Going to be spending a lot of time with a couple cuties mostly who I don't get to see very often. :)

Please Excuse my Absence - I'm Back (Life Update)
Posted 7 years agoSo you may have noticed that I was MIA for the last few months. I was in a relationship that ended up being very toxic and a lot happened. I not only "left" the fandom (had been asked/told to "quit"), but ghosted and disappeared from my friends and family as well. It's a very long story that I really don't want to get into.
All that matters right now is that after moving away from home, I'm back home and I'm safe. I learned my lesson, a hard one at that, but I'm getting back onto my feet, reconnecting with everyone, and getting back to work on everything I had left behind.
I'm not sure exactly which convention will be my next one. If I can get everything lined up, I'd love to go to AC for the first time this year. But otherwise I'm going to do what I can to be at IFC. I missed MFF and MCFC so it's been quite a bit since my last con (IFC 2017).
While I'm trying to either get my old job back or find a new job, I'll be working on a commission and finishing up the pre-made suits I've had laying around for awhile. Hoping to get one finished by the end of the month. I'll probably also be getting some other pre-made things made and finished to sell.
So all I ask right now is for some understanding and patience from everyone. I've got a long road ahead of me but I made the hardest step already.

Indy Fur Con 2017!
Posted 8 years agoJust got the OK from my manager that I have that weekend off, so this pandapard is planning to be there!!
Really looking forward to it because my last fur con was...MFF? Yeah. So it's been 6ish months since my last con. Very much needed.
My plans will most likely to spend most of my day in the Artist Alley (if possible) and spend evening/nights with friends Going to try to get a bunch of premade stuff finished to have to sell. Things like bandannas, tails, hand paws (?), plushies (?), Squeakiez (?), perler bead badges, and maybe some other things!
Who might I see there? :3 Also this will be my first IFC ever!
I also plan on getting Candro all gussied back up for this con. She needs just a little tailoring (I seem to have lost some weight since I had her made? Plus she's almost 2 years old now *cries* ).
I have some partial premade suits I'm working on but they won't be ready to debut in time for IFC. I'm going to focus on other premades for now and then work on those after.
So either look for the skinny mini with brown and neon green hair in the Artist Alley or look for the giant derping green and grey panda.

Back From My Trip + BLFC???

All I can say is thank you. Thank you for showing me a lovely time, giving me lots of great memories, helping me make some new friends, and reminding me that life is beautiful. Even through the shitty days, we can make it when we know that we will always have one another. I'm so thankful to have you in my life. You make my life better every day that I get to talk to you and grow with you.
I got to see some beautiful scenery, take a hike in the mountains, make dinner from scratch with friends, actually have a good time dancing at the club, and so many other wonderful things. It's going to be very odd trying to get back into the swing of things back at home.
I did get quite a bit of sewing done while I was gone and will have some projects finished very soon. Hopefully will have these finished in the next week or so!
Next on my list of things to look forward to is (hopefully) BLFC. Just gotta get all of the plans set in stone.
Let me know if you'll be there! If I can go, it will be my first BLFC and my first time that far out west. Now that I've flown a couple times, I'm not as nervous about flying. But still nervous for flying out that far ;3;

No MCFC for this Pandapard
Posted 8 years agoAs much as I would love to go again this year, I decided to take a week off and fly out to see areddpanda instead.
So I will be gone April 12-19, but will be taking some projects with me to work on.
Believe me, it stinks that I can't afford to do both MCFC and this trip. But I'm really excited for this trip and there will always be more conventions.
My next convention will be BLFC this summer and then MFF in the winter. I will look into IFC but it's up in the air at the moment.
I hope everyone who is going to MCFC (or FWA as they are the same weekend) has a fantastic time! Take lots of pictures and videos for those of us who are missing it!

Posted 8 years agoSo I noticed that I really haven't posting much here lately. Thought I'd give a bit of an update and let you all know that I am in fact alive XD
Back in July/August, I picked up a second job working as a waitress at a hookah lounge to help bring in a little extra cash, as I was looking at moving out. So I've been working two jobs lately, plus my own crafting. Recently, I just finished up school and did in fact graduate with an Associate's degree in arts. Taking a break from school for a bit while I just work and try to decide what I really want to do with my life. I've changed my major so many times and I still have no idea what I really want as a career or really anything with my life.
My 23rd birthday is coming up here soon (the 27th of this month) and I really don't have any plans. I'll be working the weekend before, as I work every weekend. But I do have plans for some cons. As of right now, my plans are to attend MCFC in April and then kitsuma-kun and I will be taking a road trip out west and attending BLFC. Sadly, BLFC is the weekend right after GLFC and we were planning on taking a couple weeks to go out west, so I will most likely be skipping GLFC this year. I don't want to have to take 3 weeks off of work. I've gone to GLFC every year so far and I've always wanted to attend BLFC. You win some, you lose some. And then of course MFF at the end of the year.
As for my crafting, I might open up for commissions in a few weeks after I get some other personal pieces done. I've also got plans for a partial suit in the making right now, that I'll be selling once it's done. But I had wore myself out with sewing right up to MFF, so I've been really slow lately with my crafting. Not to mention that I've been working 5/6 days a week and not having the energy to do much other than work, chores, and maybe do a little destressing (video games, watch TV, etc).
Thankfully I still have been able to take some days off here and there to be able to hang out with some friends, so I'm not always working. But because of my jobs, I've been living on more of a 3rd shift schedule. So when people message me, I may not respond until later because I'm normally awake from like 3pm to 5am XD
Also, I technically have a place of my own now. Parents found their dream home and to help them out, my sister and I (plus her bf and their friend) are renting the old house from them. I didn't have to move at all, which was really nice. Helped them move to their new house the week before Christmas so the holidays were especially busy for me this year.
Long story short: I was pretty busy the last few months but things have calmed down now. Letting myself be a little lazy because things were so hectic and busy. Got some plans for the upcoming year and still making more. I'm alive and well, just taking life day by day.
Probably going to spam upload some art one of these days. Had a few commissions done that I've only posted to Twitter or not reposted at all.
And to those who I haven't responded to in awhile, this is my "sorry I'm a dummy who's bad at communicating, so here's a general update so you know that I'm alive" post.
Hope you all have been doing well! And thank you if you actually read this whole thing XD

Life Update + Closing Commissions
Posted 9 years agoAs much as I'd like to stay open for commissions (even though I haven't had much for interest lately anyway), I'm going to be closing commissions. And here is why.
Life, pretty much. For those of you who don't know, I work part time at a craft store. It's been nice for while I'm in school, but now that I'm looking at graduating this coming semester, I really need more hours.
But of course it seems that now I said something about leaving, others are leaving and another one of my coworkers got injured. So I've been working every day, since last Monday through this Saturday. Plus possibly more in a row once I get my schedule.
Having narcolepsy, I've been extremely exhausted from working every day and coming home to do chores and have not had much energy to get my own work done. I am getting things done, but very slowly. Which is why I'm having to close my commissions. Unless they're okay with it being a little bit until I can get to it.
Being a crafter rather than a traditional/digital artist, it takes me longer to get things done. I like my sewing machine, but I prefer to only use it for simple sewing and things that would take me forever to hand sew (like floor dragger tails). Hand sewing just gives me more control.
Anyway. Yeah. So if you're trying to ask me "what's up, what have you been up to", the answer is work. Work at the craft store, work at home, work of my own.
