I'm starting to think my ability to produce art is completely related to the number of artists friends I have and how frequently I talk to with said friends about art.
Before I lost touch with an old friend of mine that I would talk to damn near every day about art, I was drawing at least SOMETHING every week.
Now I barely talk fun art stuff and share ideas with maybe one or two people ... one of which lives in a crazy German time zone (you know who you are haha) and the other going through life issues that keep him away from the computer (I think).

My production's slowed down significantly. The only reason I was able to pump out that crazy Q-HACK picture is because someone bet me I couldn't draw and color a picture of him within a month ... so I did it in about a week lol.

So I either need more art friends, more people interested in what I draw so I can continue to impress them, or to become self-motivated ... or some random 4th option that'd get me drawing again.

ON A RANDOM SIDE-NOTE. I think I suck at drawing cats. I can't draw Trina anymore. @_@;

So ... I finally got a fancy new tablet that's a good size for me ... and I opened up my doodle programs ... put down the base colors and all that fancy stuff ... and then came to the realization that I can't shade to save my life ... I think I tried all Monday and Tuesday afternoon trying to shade that Brick picture and failing miserably ... any tips, tutorials, references or whatever you can throw my way to help me out? ; -;

I've tried the separate color thing and it ended up hideous, inconsistent, and like I was trying too hard ... and didn't look right.
I tried to the "color everything gray and shade that" thing and throw a base color over that, but I felt like I wasn't doing enough ...
