Where has The Dood been? + A great series recommendation
Posted 2 years agoHello all! I'm here to announce that I am not dead! More on that below. But first: I'd like to recommend a series to anyone who is interested in sci-fi, isekai, monsters, or vore.
I have a friend,
kinversewriter who has written a series called "Path of the Emerald Maiden" (SoFurry Link) which is a deconstruction of a lot of things that I like. I recommend reading the description and seeing if it interests you. I also wrote a longer review on the first chapter. It's a well-written series that deserves much more attention.
Secondly, where have I been? Well, life has made me a bit busy. I've finally gotten a job after spending almost three years out of school searching for one. The job market is not kind to people with no experience, especially in my field. I have a good job that pays well, has decent benefits, and allows me a good schedule with some free time. The pace of writing has definitely slowed down lately but I promise that it will pick up as I get used to the new schedule and now that I'm out of training. Plus, now I'll have money to get comms!
Thank you all again for watching me, and I hope you all enjoy what I make in the future.

Other Places to Find Me
Posted 4 years agoI have an AO3 (Archive of Our Own) account, and I finished putting all of my stories on the site.
Please check it out for an enhanced reading experience. I will try and keep it updated as often as I can.
You can also find me on Sofurry. Again, I will try and keep all of these sites updated as often as I can.

End of the Year Celebration
Posted 4 years agoHappy New Year! It's been quite a year, hasn't it? I got a good amount of writing done and uploaded many things to my gallery. Overall, it felt very productive. I hope it went well for all of you too, though it's been tough for many out there. My total view count surpassed 10,000 a few weeks ago! Thank you all so much for reading my stories and faving my uploads. To my watchers who take the time to read this journal: Thank you very much. Your support keeps me going and every little comment emboldens me to keep going.
Here's the tl;dr:
-I'd like to start an AO3 (Archive of our Own) account, but it's going to take a bit.
-I'm going to go over the stories I've released since the last journal and give some commentary about them/mention any cute references I may have made.
AO3 ArchiveArchive of our Own is a fanfiction site that has also been used to archive original works of writing. I like its layout and tag system much more than other sites I frequently use. One of the reasons I made the Sofurry backup was so that people without an account could view my work. Unfortunately, that only works if they have a direct link to the mature work in question. When uploading to places like /trash/ it makes it difficult for people to find my work when it's not in the OP post.
I'm going to get an AO3 account and start uploading my work there. The only problem is: the process takes a while. I need to wait almost a month for them to give me an account. (Unless someone has an invite they want to throw at me, though I'm willing to wait.) As soon as I get it and start uploading, I'll write another journal to alert people. This and sofurry are the only alternatives for writing I'm currently aware of. Pastebin automatically bans nsfw content now, and I don't really do vore so Eka's is not ideal. Plus, FA is the most popular furry art website for better or worse.
Reflecting on this year's workLayabout
A short story I was inspired to write based on a fun scenario some friends tossed around. I really should write more short stuff like this since people seem to like it and I enjoy spending an afternoon on it. I'll always remember this one for a few reasons. The greatest of all is that a kind fellow on Sofurry wrote a comment almost half as long as the story itself giving me suggestions, criticisms, and praise. It really warmed my heart.
Be My Moon
PRAISE THE MOONS! And praise Boni! Joxiris is a character that got really popular in our dnd campaigns thanks to her simple design and award-winning personality. She's been a mainstay for any dnd group I'm in and I'm glad to see people enjoy her. She's also the first character I uploaded to this site, so that's cool.
Front Page Bingo
Ah, the classic "Shitpost gets more views than anything I put effort into" moment. Gotta love it. I think the popularity came down to the many many tags I used which drew in people who liked them. Sometimes I still look at the front page and try to find a bingo.
She Shook Me Cold
A gift for Martini and a fun story to write. I wanted to capture the essence of a couple who had fallen into a rhythm; They frequently get intimate and they know each other in and out but they're still figuring out what they're really into. Maybe Will doesn't know he's into that stuff, and May is just rolling with it? This was also a test to see if I could do something close to commissions by satisfying a person's requests. I think it went well all things considered. As I pointed out in the description, the name came from a David Bowie song. I've been listening to his work on and off while writing and I consider myself the second coming of Hirohiko Araki, so I must reference my favorite bands and artists from now on.
Tempted to write a sequel with that strapon...
Macro Chad Kiva
Your waifu vs. My Waifu
Photo Op
Oh boy, this is the big one. Boni offered to draw me a series of images (Thank you!) and I couldn't say no. This is honestly the work I'm most proud of. It's a great series of images by a good friend, my brain was firing off on all cylinders for the writing, and it's just adorable. Kiva is my favorite character out of the ones I have created so far. Here's to more of her in the future!
Saahira Concept
I've had this one on my hard drive for a while now. The holes in the hood are silly, but I imagine that her robes are meant for decoration instead of utility. Plus, she's a wizard. She probably has twenty different spells to stop rain from touching her. It's funny, but in all my outlines for part one of the story I refer to her as "The Witch" or "The Cat." Coming up with names for the characters was torturous until someone suggested that I use a baby name site to come up with it. Saahira means "Magic One" in Arabic. Kramer means "Merchant" in German, and Banyan is the same for English. Thanks, baby name sites.
Rat doesn't like this one as much as the next one, but I love it. It's simple enough to make a great profile image.
Saahira Interpretation
A significant improvement! Ratafari once again growing as an artist. Look at that fur, those scales, and how they blend together! Wonderful! I want to write more about Saahira and Banyan someday.
Home Movies
Another big one. Did I say Photo Op was the big one? This is the big one writing-wise. This story is one the longest single chapter things I have ever written. DADW Part 4 barely beats it, but it felt longer while I was making it. I really struggled with this one compared to previous stories because I was worried that the joke of "amateur porno fails spectacularly" could only be stretched so far. Luckily for me, after a few edits and suggestions from friends, the final product came out wonderfully.
Somehow, I got the idea of Kiva in platform heels in my head. Kiva doesn't like footwear as a general rule because nobody makes them for her size. (Side Tangent: Isn't it strange that we get very customized health things fitted for us like braces and such, but shoes are incredibly important to our health and we just make them en-mass instead of making custom sizes for everyone? That seems unhealthy. Anyways...) Kiva doesn't like wearing footwear, but she hears Vinny likes a tall woman in heels and she grabs the largest "fuck me" platforms ever and ambushes him one night. This happens before she goes macro and gives them a taste of what it would be like if she were a little larger.
Kiva: Giant Furry Wall
I want a hug from a giant furry woman...
Druidic Figure Painting
Sweet lord look at the size of them! She's growing melons this time!
It took me an embarrassingly long time to start collecting seeds for my druid character. There are so many uses for them when your most basic power is "instantly grow any seed in your hand." And yes, the potential for jokes was infinite and I missed it.
Hell's Guard Dog
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I've had a lot of ideas in my head about Kiva doing stuff at the cabin because she's bored and doesn't have a lot to do. She moves to creative pursuits. (Hey, doesn't this sound familiar? Not like I got trapped doing nothing for a while and turned to writing.) Kiva writes up a list of things she wants to make, then a list of ingredients, then she spends all day at the craft/fabric store and buys way more than her list ever had. She'll make a day of it then head home and have enough stuff to spend the week making her next big costume. I could see her getting into cosplay culture and going to cons.
This one doesn't even have an outline. It was brain to paper in an instant with very minor edits and beta reading from friends. Sometimes it just hits you.
The Twin Moon Goddess
This is an interesting upload. Rat did literally everything for it including the writing. I helped touch it up, but it's all from him. A cool idea and a good example of why most dnd campaigns never go up to level 20.
Saahira's Guide to Safely Pondering an Orb
Ironically, the only story I wrote this year to jump on a trend didn't get many views! The orb pondering meme showed up and quickly became irrelevant. I'm trying not to get obsessed with numbers and just write what I like, but there is an addicting quality to seeing number go up. Still, this was a fun excuse to do a crossover gag or two and foreshadow a future series.
A Very Dire Holiday
My final story of the year! Seems like every series has a holiday special. Maybe next year, I'll write about them playing in the snow at home instead? Kiva could use her size to make a snow mountain and carve out a staircase and smooth hill, then shrink down and slide down it with Vinny. So much potential to work with.
Vinny's parents are named after the couple from "Attack of the 50' Woman." I had thought about making one of them anthro to fit in with the universe, but I decided to keep it simple. I also like implying a lot about the many cultures and how there would obviously be more tension between races if there were actual major physical differences between them. In the same sense, I enjoyed making Kiva's species one of the Native American equivalents in their world and implying that some of their culture was just gone. I imagine them as a tribe somewhere in the north near British Columbia, and one of the Bald Eagle tribes like the equivalent of the Seminole Tribe who stayed very independent compared to the many other tribes which were forced onto reservations.
I have decided that, in a funny role reversal, Vinny wears Kiva's oversized shirts like dresses around the house. They're all anthro band shirts.
When I wrote the scene in the bedroom, I was originally going to have Kiva go bra-less or still be wearing her trademark sports bra. However, the thought of Vinny holding a massive bra in his hands that is almost as tall as him and large enough to fall into was too good to pass up. My justification in-universe is that he made her wear more modest underwear so she wouldn't embarrass him in front of family. It's sort of like looking at a giant footprint. You can directly compare your own foot to the massive impression in the ground and get a feeling for how ridiculously large they are. Same here. Vinny can look at this bra that is larger than his head and think "the creature that wears this must be huge to support something like that!"
I've been told multiple times that I really captured the essence of an awkward family reunion, and that makes me happy. I've experienced a few and it makes me happy as a writer to know I can evoke those emotions.
Closing ThoughtsOnce again, thank you so much for watching me and reading my work.
Kiva in Macrovision!
Posted 4 years agoI got my character Kiva in
chemicalcrux's Macrovision! Check her out. You can search her name, find her under "Author: Bonimenteur," "Owner: CaptainDood122," or under "Species: Direwolf."
I'll see about adding other characters once I get art of them or they become macro. It feels wrong to add a character to it if they're not incredibly large or small.

Looking back at my work and looking toward the future
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone, thank you for reading this journal. The people who watch me and take the time to read my journals are the best. You are the greatest supporters I've ever had and you all make me wanna keep writing. This is a catch-up journal where I talk about my previous works, the things in my gallery, the people who support me, and what I want to do in the future. I'm doing okay physically and mentally, so don't worry about me!
Wrecking Crew
This one was fun to write! I've always loved old buildings with gothic architecture. It's a shame we don't design buildings like this anymore, but funding to keep these buildings around is nonexistent. Anyway, I wanted a "legitimate" excuse to have Kiva destroy a building and although demolition is cliche, it worked out pretty well. A lot of the early scenes were references to the movie "Session 9." Gordon and Hank are named after characters in the film, and I based the asylum on the one in Danvers. Sequel in the works. I just need to iron out the details in my outline.
Dating a Direwolf: Complete Edition
I was really glad to make this. I think every artist wishes to go back and change their old work at some point. I promise not to go full George Lucas and change anything else though. This was a much-needed addition that rounded out the story.
Put a Spell on You
This one started off as a one-shot that became a trilogy after it became popular. It also started off more "fetish-y" than it ended. I didn't put too much thought into the mechanics of the magic or anything. I just wanted an excuse to shrink a few people and use a Lynx as the macro. Still, kinda proud of it. I wanted to do more vignettes and one-shots and ended up creating another series. I don't want to limit myself by word count or anything like that, but having written with word counts in mind my whole life it's difficult to let go of that. This one was inspired by multiple dnd campaigns and my many modded Skyrim playthroughs. There are some great mods that add size-changing spells. Unfortunately, they're usually unbalanced compared to most magic mods.
Bewitched
This is the one I'm least confident in. It's a fine bridge between the other two parts, but I think it's kind of boring. Without going full fetish mode, I think it misses out on the action the other two have. I could have added a sex scene in the middle but it felt in bad taste.
Magic in the Air
The big conclusion! I have not written proper action scenes before this, and I think it turned out pretty well. I ended up cribbing a lot of the magic from Dungeons and Dragons. Banyan is a level 1 wizard with the ritual magic feat, and Saahira was like a higher level wizard with lots of bonuses to strength and endurance. By the end, she's a half-dragon too. She's gonna be really overpowered if she trains!
Now that I am mildly internet famous, I must use my powers for good and shill artists who deserve views. Today's lucky contestant is
mroble, a friend of mine who is an up-and-coming artist who is attempting to "Git Gud" at art. Give him lots of love and support so that he can grow up big and strong someday.
There are artists who have gifted me art recently. I always credit them in the things I post, so go check them out if you haven't! Go watch

The near future is going to get very busy for me. I have a busy summer, but I will attempt to get writing done whenever I can. Please don't be afraid to comment on my work. Your comments, faves, and watches give me life. I will keep writing no matter what because it makes me happy, but it makes me happier to see people enjoy what I create.

Backup Profile
Posted 4 years agoI made a backup profile on SoFurry!
As you know, FA has pretty frequent outages. I think it's important to keep backups of everything I create just in case. I'll upload all my new stories there as well.
I will still primarily post here, but if something happens to this account then that's where you can find me.

100 Watchers Celebration + Future Stories
Posted 4 years agoThe time has finally come! As I write this, I have accumulated 100 watchers and over 300 faves. Thank you everyone for supporting my writing and making this hobby worth it. I figure I'll write a journal like this for every "milestone" number (assuming I get that far) so I can keep people up to date about what I'm doing and what I have planned.
Here's the tl;dr:
-I want the people watching my stuff (yes, you!) to tell me what you like and why you watch me.
-I'd like to write more vignettes and short stories in the future, expanding the really good ones into larger series.
-I'm writing down some story ideas I've come up with to see if anyone is interested in them.
As you probably know, I haven't done any commissions and I don't plan to in the future. But that doesn't mean I don't want to hear your ideas! Many of the stories I've written were inspired by conversations with doomedsizemarine as we sorta spit-balled ideas at each other. We've come up with a lot of stories this way, and when I'm feeling particularly inspired/motivated I type up an outline and start writing. What I want to know from all of you is what sorts of stories you all like. My content has been pretty diverse and I've had fun writing situations I never would have thought about a few years ago.
So what kind of stories do you like? What have I written that you like the most? What about my stories do you enjoy, and what would you like to see in the future?
My experience writing comes from English classes at the high school and college level. That means I'm really good at writing essays and book reports, but I've only recently practiced writing stories like this. (Thank you, years of reading books and fanfiction!) I'm most comfortable writing stories above a certain length because word count was very important in those essays. dtf suggested that I start writing vignettes based on the ideas I've come up with and that if I compile enough of them I've probably got another series in the works. I'm going to see about writing short story compilations based on certain themes. Which brings me to...
I've got a plethora of ideas written down on a text file on my pc that I'd like to write someday. I'll post some here and see if anyone is interested in them.
-A horror themed macro story: A person is being chased through a Silent Hill-esque haunted town by a vaguely anthro monster. This one is kinda open because the monster design can be anything, and that can change the story however I want.
-Superhero themed stuff: Superhero settings have so much room for macro content. I have two major ideas for this one. First is a person whose power is to transform into an anthro (probably of the opposite sex for comedic purposes) and they have powers in this form based on their degenerate fetishes. So the conflict becomes trying to help people while juggling the insanity of a power the general public will be repulsed by.
"Thank you for saving our city from the tornado Wonder Bitch. But did you need to cum on all those buildings before you did it?"
"Sorry citizen, but that's how I recharge my abilities..."
The second idea is a person who gets a "guardian angel" as their power. But unlike the other people who get powers, the guardian doesn't have hard limits because they don't have a frail biological body to take care of. So now this person is thrust into a chaotic comic world with an overpowered furry protector. I'm thinking the main conflict would be that the protagonists power easily defeats this weeks cosmic level threat and every faction from the local Justice League equivalent to various world governments try their hardest to recruit a person who does not want that life.
-Fantasy Stuff: Fantasy is wonderful for macro because magic makes it much easier to suspend your disbelief. I'd like to either work in established universes or just make my own. Fantasy universes are easy to set up because everyone is familiar with the big ideas and you can fill in the details as the story moves along.
Idea #1: A (I'm thinking Cat or Lizard) witch is ostracized by her village for practicing the dark arts. She spends a year perfecting a ritual to shrink the entire village, but has to deal with the consequences. (She shrunk innocent people along with the bigots, nobody is farming anymore so she can't get food easily, the local monarchy is gonna want to know where a whole village went, etc.)
Idea #2: Every wizard has a familiar that grows in strength with them. A small apprentice will summon a Raven to assist him. But when he grows older and more experienced that Raven becomes a 30' tall Gryphon woman. Lizards become dragons, Fox kits become Amazonian Furries, etc.
(Please note: I don't plan to write exclusively macro/micro stories. It's just that I have a preference for them.)
Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who has ever read my writing, favorited anything I've uploaded, commented on any of it, and especially the people who watch me. What may seem like an inconsequential action is a huge boost to my self-esteem and makes me want to write more and more. Here's to another year of good stories!

The future of my writing, Dating a Direwolf, and more
Posted 5 years agoHello everyone, thank you so very much for reading my work and reading this. I didn't expect to get this many people enjoying my work, so this is all very exciting for me.
As of writing this, I have 190 faves and 58 people watching me. That's all people who saw my work and thought "yeah, I want more of that", and that just blows me away. So thank you everyone.
If you're busy, here's a tl;dr:
1. "Dating a Direwolf" is complete. The universe and characters are not. I have side stories planned that I want to write someday.
2. I'm busy this week doing life stuff, but I'll try and get a little bit of writing in when I can.
3. Future stories will most likely be one-shots. If I find a really good one I like, it might get expanded into a multi-part series.
4. I've got some random trivia about "Dating a Direwolf" down at the bottom if you like that sort of stuff.
Writing this story has been a big learning experience for me. I've written before, but this was my first time doing a multi-part story with such a high word count. I've learned that I'm the kind of writer that gets super inspired by something, writes for five hours straight to get it out of my head, then crashes for a while. Now maybe some authors can keep doing this, but I need a break once in a while. If I write another series, I'm gonna have a backlog of pre-written stories before I start posting. I want to keep up the "once a week" pace I mostly had going, but I don't want to miss the deadlines I have in my head. (I was inconsistently uploading stuff on either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday)
"Dating a Direwolf" was basically my muse. It's a work I've had in my head forever that I really wanted to get out. Now that it's out I feel less pressure and stress about writing. This isn't a job for me, it's a hobby. Also please note that between quarantine and not having a job, I haven't been very busy. That might change in the future.
I put some references in "Dating a Direwolf" that I wanted to point out. (Mostly because I want to recommend these series to people who don't know about them. They're all good.)
Part 1:
-Kiva's name is a reference to the woman from the future in "Megas XLR". A wonderful show about a guy from Jersey fighting aliens in his car that is also a giant mech.
-Vinny quotes Zapp Brannigan from "Futurama".
This scene absolutely helped me fall for tall women.
-Vinny remembers the exact date of Australia Day for some reason. In the game "Bioshock" there is a puzzle that requires you to use the date as a code for a door. For some reason that code has always been stuck in my head. Probably because I played the game so many times.
Part 2:
-"Doctor Smith" was purposefully an incredibly generic name. So generic you know the person using it is lying to you. It could be seen as a shoutout to "Doctor Who", where the protagonist likes to use it in lieu of his real (hidden) name.
-Kiva and Vinny get into an argument about "Smurfs", and whether or not they lay eggs. This is a reference to the same argument Henchmen 21 and 24 get into in an episode of "The Venture Bros."
I've always imagined them having a relationship like that, where they talk and argue about stupid and petty stuff that nobody else cares about.
Part 3:
-The lake scene is a wholesale reference to a similar scene in "The Iron Giant". Except this time it's played very realistically. I've always been fond of this film. Maybe it contributed to my future fascination with macro stuff?
-The movie the couple watch at the end is "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I considered writing in some AU elements and implying certain characters were Anthros instead of Human to reflect the world they live in. But doing lots of italics and quotes in FA and Microsoft Word is already tedious. I consider this film one of the closest to being truly perfect next to "Back to the Future".
Part 4:
-When Kiva gets big enough her body heat starts to set nearby trees on fire. I took this idea from a scene in "Attack on Titan". (Spoilers for Season 3) The titans produce so much body heat being so large, and it made sense that a kilometer tall warm-blooded creature would set things on fire. It also adds to the whole "can't interact with people" thing that Kiva suffers with.
Just things that I thought were interesting that I learned while writing this series.
Part 1:
-Dogs don't sweat. They can sweat on their paws for traction, but otherwise they cool down by "panting". Humans and Horses do sweat though. It's part of our "Endurance Predation" thing.
-When Ferrets go into heat, they stay in heat until they are bred. This can actually kill them, which is why it's important to take care of that ASAP. (Might write a story about this someday)
Part 3:
-By scaling up the average lactation rate of a pregnant human at about 5'5", I figured out that at 200' tall Kiva could express about 4272 gallons of milk a day. That's 1.5x more than a concrete mixing truck can hold.
Part 4:
-Vinny tells a story about a Capybara woman. Capybara are basically giant rodents that are super chill. I highly recommend looking them up because they're adorable. They're also the friendliest animals ever, so the Capybara being so aggressive to him means he's really attractive or she's unusual for her species.
-After doing some similar math like the above, at one kilometer, Kiva's milk production would be an insane ~42054761 US gallon. Or six times bigger than the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Or 30 times bigger than the Goodyear Blimp. Assuming it wouldn't vaporize as soon as it left her body due to heat.
If you're wondering how I did all that math, I use a couple of websites.
Mr. Initial Man: http://www.mrinitialman.com/OddsEnd.....zes/sizes.html
A neat little tool to check basic scale for two characters. There's a link to get up to six figures at once. It's made outdated by...
MacroVision: https://macrovision.crux.sexy/
A very useful tool for doing scale (especially for furry characters). Really helped me visualize the insanity of the truly large sizes.
MacroStat: http://www.macrophile.com/macro-stat/
Neat tool for scaling up measurements based on multiplication or linear growth. Made the lactation calculations possible.
The Measure of Things: http://www.bluebulbprojects.com/Mea.....gs/default.php
Another great site for understanding scale. Helped me visualize a lot of the stuff that happened in the story.
Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me in my writing. Every watch, favorite, and view inspires me to keep going. See you all in the future.
