Samurai Jack Season 5... Premiering Tomorrow
General | Posted 9 years agoHere is a quick reminder that the new season of Samurai Jack is premiering tomorrow night on Toonami at 10:00 pm, and of course i will most certainly be watching when it premieres. It is nice to see them finally continuing the series after nearly 13 years of wondering whether or not it would ever see the light of day again, at least we can now see the series properly wrapped up as it should have been years ago.
Seriously, i am personally beyond psyched for it.

R.I.P Bill Paxton... 1956-2017
General | Posted 9 years agoI just heard on the news a bit ago that actor Bill Paxton passed away from complications due to surgery yesterday at age 61, of course as we know he had many well known roles in his acting career like wanker Chet in Weird Science and Apollo 13. My favorite of his being Billy "The Extreme" Harding on Twister, one of my personal favorite '90s natural disaster films. He also had notable roles in other classic films like Titanic and Alien.
Rest in peace, Bill. May your long and amazing career be forever remembered through your films!!!

New Samurai Jack... Coming to Toonami 3/11
General | Posted 9 years agoI just looked at a thread over on the Toonzone forums announcing that the new season of Samurai Jack coming in March. It is told that this will basically be continuing where the last season of the original series left off. I am glad that they are finally reviving the story after over twelve years, it was certainly long overdue.
Coincidentally, the 17th will be the 20th anniversary of Toonami's premiere on that day back in 1997. It is hard to believe that it has really been that long since it all started, of course i didn't really start watching the block until TOM was the host sometime around mid 2000 or so.
Of course i will post a dedicated journal on the actual anniversary date.

Hilarious DBZ English Dub #2- Speedy Dub
General | Posted 9 years agoHere is another look into yet another dub of Dragon Ball Z that is legendary among fans for it's amazing crappiness. I am of course talking about the Malaysian dub or as it is more commonly known as the Speedy Dub. This is probably the most absurdly funniest dub i have ever seen, even more so than Big Green.
Things it is most well known for
Really bad English- Arguably the most infamous aspect of the dub, you can barely even comprehend what they're saying most of the time.
Horribly distorted music tracks- This makes it sound even more weirder.
Absurdly funny translations- Saiya People, Combine our body.etc
Here are some videos to demonstrate the epically hilarious horror of this dub

Hilarious DBZ English Dub- Big Green Dub
General | Posted 9 years agoHere is a few videos i found showing one of the most hilariously bad dubs of the Dragon Ball anime ever made, this is known by fans as the Big Green dub which was produced by a company called AB Groupe in the Netherlands based off French translations of the series and movies. This dub is infamous for it's incredibly rushed dub with horrible run on delivery of lines and utterly hilarious voiceovers from unknown voice actors.
Here's some more notable things about this dub
Random name changes- Vejituh, Clearin, Big Green, Brawly
Hilarious names of items and things- Magic Baton/Magic Stick, Magic Cloud, Crystal Balls, Space Warriors
Every attack being called Kamehameha- Kaio-ken, Genki Dama/Spirit Bomb.etc

Inauguration Day- 1/20/2017
General | Posted 9 years agoThe main event is about to to begin, as we officially are about to begin the official transition of power to the incoming 45th POTUS and First Family. I decided to do a quick journal to mark this very special occasion, as this truly is a momentous event that occurs every four to eight years as a new president succeeds the previous one before him.
I just have to say, god speed to the new commander-in-chief and his family.

Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie TV Update... Premiering 11/23
General | Posted 9 years agoI just found some updated information about the upcoming Hey Arnold! movie, the most notable of which being that it will premiere on Nickelodeon on November 23. Just right before Thanksgiving this year, similar to the Legends of the Hidden Temple movie around Thanksgiving of this past year. The thing i like most about this is that a lot of the voice actors/actresses from the original series is returning to voice their respective characters. I am glad that after nearly fifteen years we are finally seeing this long unresolved story be wrapped up, this is truly what all of the fans of the show have waited for so long to see.
I can tell you that i will be watching on the premiere, seeing as how much i watched the original series when i was a kid.

Sayonara 2016... Hello 2017
General | Posted 9 years agoHere is another quickie journal i am posting as we are close to closing out this year 2016, out with the old and in with the new as you know. I must say that this year was quite uneven with many ups and downs inbetween. Here's to a wonderful next year!!
Highs and lows of this year- this applies mostly to me personally.
Highs
- The election (definitely one for the record books!!!)
Lows
- My grandpa's passing this past summer, and my uncle's passing a few weeks back. God rest them both!!!
- All the celebrity deaths in this year alone, definitely a shocker for sure.
Have a very happy New Year's, and please note that i will be stepping up on submissions very soon.

R.I.P Carrie Fisher... 1956-2016
General | Posted 9 years agoThis is truly a sad day for all of us Star Wars fans, for sadly Carrie Fisher passed away today following the heart attack she recently suffered in the last few days. This is truly a devastating loss to us all who enjoyed her work both in the SW films and her many other roles beyond that.
Farewell Carrie, you will be forever remembered for the amazing charm and personality you brought to the role of Princess Leia.

General | Posted 9 years agoHere is a quickie journal i decided to post in case you were wondering why i haven't been uploading artwork or photos lately, and that is due to the fact that i have been really busy over the last few days with Christmas and all. This is just to reassure you all that i will indeed be posting stuff again once things slow down a bit.
Just to reiterate, i'll be back to uploading within the next few days.

General | Posted 9 years agoI was just looking at the upcoming schedule of the next Splatlight for the Nicktoons Anniversary celebration, and it turns out that the weekend of December 3rd will have the debut of Oh Yeah! Cartoons on the block. From what i have seen so far it appears that the first few episodes of Season 1 will be airing in the 11:00-11:30 time slot that Saturday and Sunday. This is definitely exciting as this was a show i only watched a few times as a kid, so this will be exciting to check out.
Here is what the schedule looks like so far

11:00- ChalkZone; What is Funny?; Jelly's Day
11:30- F-Tales; Twenty Five Cent Trouble; Cat & Milkman

Obscure Stuff #1- Tickle U
General | Posted 9 years agoThis is just a little something i decided to do while digging around for obscure stuff on the big cartoon channels from back in the day, as i happened to stuble upon this long forgotten nugget that was a part of Cartoon Network's schedule for just under a year. This block which was known as Tickle U was supposed to be CN's answer to Nick Jr/Noggin and Playhouse Disney. It premiered in August of 2005 and ran on the channels' morning schedule until some time in early 2006, the block was largely a critical dud with low ratings as well as primarily being comprised of re dubbed UK kids' series and no original shows. I personally remember watching it only about once or twice in '05 before completely forgetting about it until now. The only thing i really recall watching on it was Krypto the Superdog, as that show was indeed part of the block for a brief time as well as being on the regular schedule.
Of course i wouldn't be surprised that almost no one would remember it nowadays, given that it had such a short run before being trashed altogether. I personally have only that one memory of watching it.
Here is a promo of the block from '05 that i found just for the heck of it

Classic Adult Swim Bumpers And Promos
General | Posted 9 years agoHere are some old promos i found from Adult Swim's early days, back when it was just a block on CN. These are from when it had the original pool motif which was used from it's debut on September 2, 2001 until they were replaced in May of '03. The earliest memories i have of this incarnation of Adult Swim was some time in early 2002. Boy how time flies by!!!

Oldie Robot Jones Promos... With Original Voice!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoHere are some old promos i found for the long obscure show Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?, i discovered these after watching one of the Forgotten Media videos about this very show and triggering my long buried memories of watching it when I was a kid. The thing that make these even more cool is that they have the original Macintosh Junior text to speech voice for Robot, these are definitely a treat to find considering most of the other clips of the show line are the later Bobby Block re dubs.

Double Dare Special Airing on Nov 23....
General | Posted 9 years agoI just read a while ago that a Double Dare commemorative special will be airing on the Splat i assume at some point later on, and i would assume that this is in celebration of the series' 30th anniversary of it premiere in 1986. And of course it will have none other than original host Marc Summers hosting, i am guessing it will air within the next few weeks.
I just learned actually isn't airing on the Splat, instead it will be airing on Nov 23 on Nick at Nite as a prime time special presentation.
Correction, it actually will be airing on the Splat after it finishes playing on N@N.
Here's an article i found talking about it

The Splat To Air Legends Episodes Before Legends TV Movie...
General | Posted 9 years agoI recently read that the Splat will be airing a possible marathon of Legends of the Hidden Temple episodes as a lead in to the Legends TV movie premiering next month, i am hoping that they will finally air some episodes from Seasons 2 and 3. Since most of the re runs of the show thus far have primarily been first season episodes, it will be exciting to see which ones they select to air for it.
Note: The film itself will be premiering on regular Nick, not the Splat.

The Splat To Air Unaired ATBG Episodes...!!!!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoI was just looking on the Splat's Twitter page and found this exciting news, it turns out that later this month the block will air some never before aired As Told By Ginger episodes. I am betting that these will be the high school episodes that were barely broadcast when the series was cut short by Nickelodeon, this was definitely a surprise as i had only heard a little bit about these.
There is also rumored to be an unaired Angry Beavers episode airing too, i am wondering if this is the episode that was vetoed by Nick due to it referencing the impending cancellation of the show.
Here is an article talking all about it

Happy 20th B Day!!! Hey Arnold and KaBlam!...
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has officially been 20 years since Hey Arnold and KaBlam! first premiered on October 7, 1996 on Nickelodeon as the two newest Nicktoons that year. I decided it would be fitting to commemorate the anniversary, seeing as they are two of my favorite of the classic Nick cartoon shows.
To celebrate this milestone, here are some commercials that aired before the shows officially premiered. These were recorded sometime around late September 1996.

One Year Ago...
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has officially been one year since the '90s Are All That was re branded into the Splat, and we have seen quite a few highs in that time. Most notably with shows that never previously aired on the former block, including but not limited to You Can't Do That On Television and Double Dare 2000. Though there have been quite a few lows too. Like certain Nicktoons being played too much, but hopefully we'll see them shake it up a little more in the coming days. As we are seeing with KaBlam! finally getting some love, i am sure we will see much more in the days and weeks to come.

KaBlam! To Air On The Splat Next Weekend... YES!!!!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoHere is another journal to follow up the last one i posted, in which i revealed that none other than KaBlam! will be airing on the Splat for the first time ever next weekend. Of course you can gather that i am personally beyond psyched for this. Seeing as it will be the first time the show has aired in any way since June 2008, when the pilot episode "Your Real Best Friend" aired as part of the 100 Greatest Nicktoons Moments event on Nicktoons Network. The last time it aired regularly was in the summer of 2005 shortly after Nicktoons' Animation Capital re brand, as a part of the early "3 Headed Monster" lineup until it was pulled from the schedule a few months later.
I really had doubts that it would ever see the light of day on TV again, but now it seems that our wish is coming true. This will definitely be on my priority list of things to watch this weekend, i say kudos to the Splat for finally making it happen.

More Splat Updates.... Even More Surprising News!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoHere we go with yet another update on what is going on with the Splat, and first off is that Pelswick will not be airing like i had mentioned in the last Splat update. Though the specific reason hasn't been mentioned. I guess that it had something to do with Nelvana still having a stake in the license for the show, thus they were not able to get the show cleared to air as planned. It is a disappointing yet understandable thing to happen, and i still don't know what has become of the As Told By Ginger marathon they were talking about earlier. Maybe it will air at some point eventually.
I've certainly saved the best news for last, as the Splat's Facebook and Twitter pages confirmed that KaBlam will indeed be airing on the block for the first time next weekend. I was totally shocked when i read that. Never once did i imagine that they would be able to air it at all, of course i bet that they will only be allowed to air the episodes with the shorts they have ownership of. It is still more than i could hope for, seeing as it has been nearly a decade since it last aired and over that since it played regularly in any way.
I am in shock even now, i can't believe they are finally going to air it...

Adventure Time to End After Season 8...
General | Posted 9 years agoI just looked on the Toonzone forums recently and confirmed that Adventure Time will be ending it's long run on CN, just a little over two years from now in 2018. Of course i figured that it was bound to happen eventually, as i haven't really watched the show that frequently since around season 4 or so. At least it will have hand a pretty good run for a series of it's kind. Being that it has been running for just over six years as of now.
Of course we still have a ways to go before it is over, including the theatrical movie that's supposed to come out at some point in the future.
Still it's hard to believe that it will have been on for eight years when all is said and done, i remember when i saw the first promos for the show way back in March of 2010. Boy how time flies!!!

Another Splat Update... Surprising News!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has been a good while since i last did one of these Splat updates, but i figured it would be a good time to do so. As there are two interesting rounds of oldie shows coming next month, the first being the airing of none other than the long unaired Pelswick on October 1. This was the one that surprised me the most as i haven't seen that show since it was still airing on the main Nick channel, way back in 2001 or 2002. Also coming up is an As Told By Ginger marathon as well later on in the month, and i will watch that too seeing it has been a while since it was last on the lineup.
I truly never expected Pelswick of all things to be showing on the block. Seeing as it was a Canadian show that was not produced in house by Nick but by Nelvana and only licensed it to air on the channel for a short time, though i guess they still have had the rights to air it even after all these years.

Happy 20th B-Day, DBZ Ocean Dub!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has officially been 20 years since the original English dub of Dragon Ball Z aka the Ocean Dub premiered, on September 13, 1996 in syndication and on most local affiliates. This dub was primarily the way many fans first saw the show who had not already watched it from either fansubs or raw recordings of the Japanese version. I personally didn't see this version that much until it re aired quite a ways later on Cartoon Network, i did not really get into the show until i started watching the the in house FUNimation dub on Toonami with my first cousin around late Season 3 or early Season 4. And it won't be much longer before the aforementioned dub has it's milestone too.
Boy, it is hard to believe that it's been that long since DBZ first took to the airwaves here.

Happy 50th Anniversary, Star Trek!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoI'm posting a special quickie journal, as tonight marks exactly 50 years since the original Star Trek series premiered this night at 8:00 on Sepember 8, 1966. It is hard to believe that so much time has passed since audiences first witnessed the Enterprise explore strange new worlds, and even now the franchise still continues to be a cultural icon into today.
Happy 50th Star Trek, may you be a vastly popular series for many more years to come.
