Dragon Ball- Rare Harmony Gold Movie 1 Dub
General | Posted 9 years agoHere's a video i found of the entire "lost" dub of Dragon Ball movie one aka Densetsu no Shenlong/The Legend of Shenlong/Curse of the Blood Rubies. This was produced by dub company Harmony Gold sometime in 1989, a full six years before the next attempt a la the first FUNimation/Ocean dub in 1995. The third DB movie was also dubbed this way, and it's believed that the first five episodes of the original series were adapted as well. This dub was considered lost to time for many years due to it airing only in a small number of markets in 1989/1990 and overall failing to find a significant audience at the time.
This is a pretty exciting watch, as we're actually getting to see the very first attempt at adaptation back when the franchise was still at it's height in Japan at that point.
Fun fact: The voice of Puar/Pu-erh was done by none other than Cheryl Chase aka the voice of Angelica from Rugrats, that was definitely something that i will not be able to unsee.
Here's the link to the video- Note: this video has apparently been deleted from YT.

Edit: Here is a replacement link since the other video got taken down a while back

My Thoughts On Confirmed Rocko TV Film
General | Posted 9 years agoThis is just a quickie journal following up from my last one where i talked about the upcoming Rocko's Modern Life TV film. Anyway i believe that this is a cool thing for Nick to do, just like the revived Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie i mentioned before. This shows that a long ended series can be revisited to appeal to those who grew up watching them, like we 90's kids did. Even if it isn't a full series but just a one off TV movie. I think this will definitely be an awesome thing to watch, being that it is after all creator Joe Murray who is footing this. It will be interesting to see how the premise of the original series is expanded upon in reference to modern society.
I'm betting that the original cast will indeed be coming back, as there's no one who can voice the characters like them.

Rocko's Modern Life TV Movie Confirmed...!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoI just saw a bit ago that Joe Murray confirmed there will be a Rocko TV film airing on Nick at some point in the near future. I find this to be very exciting news given that it's been almost 20 years since the original series ended production in 1996. What's more is that he will be heavily involved with the film's production, as i had a hunch that he would given he is the creator of the series to start with.
This is a very exciting development, first with the Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie coming next year and now Rocko. I wasn't expecting it at all. I'm betting that they'll get most or all of the original cast back together for this.
Here's an article talking all about it
https://www.ew.com/article/2016/08/.....ie-nickelodeon
BTW, today is coincidentally the 25th anniversary of the debut of the Nicktoons brand back in August 1991.

In Memoriam, Grandpa... 6/8/1939-8/10/2016
General | Posted 9 years agoIt is with great difficulty that i have to post something like this for the first time ever on my page, for sadly my eldest grandfather passed away early this morning after a brief bout of illness over the last few days. It is extremely hard to put into so many words all of the grief and sadness that i feel right now. But i am left with a lot of great memories of the many wonderful times that we all shared with him to the very end.
R.I.P Grandpa, you will be sorely missed and remembered fondly by your loving family and friends as well as everyone who's lives you touched in all your days with us all... at least you are no longer in pain now.
If any of you here wish to express condolences to me and my family, please don't hesitate to do so.

MTV Classic Coming August 1st
General | Posted 9 years agoI just read that VH1 Classic will be re branding into MTV Classic on August 1st, which just happens to be the 35th anniversary of MTV's launch back in 1981. The debut will feature a special first block that will play all the music videos that aired during the channel's first hour on that day, and afterwards it will feature many programs aired from the '90s and early 2000's, this clearly displays how dissatisfied people have been with MTV's downward spiral into reality wasteland since the mid 00's. I will definitely be checking this out when it premieres as i believe that this was long overdue to happen.
Splat Updates- Double Dare Week with Marc Summers!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoIt's been a long time since i last did an update on Splat schedules. But i just saw that there will be a weeklong Double Dare event starting on the 25th about two weeks from now, with original host Marc Summers running the show. And from what i've seen so far in the promos it looks to be pretty good. It appears that the various iterations of the show will be airing from the original onwards, i hope they air more than just the original and Family Double Dare.
What i would really like to see is for Double Dare 2000 to air during it, as i haven't seen that version played in any form since Nick GAS was discontinued in December 2007 on most services and April 2009 for Dish Network users.

I'm Back.... Update Time!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoJust a short and sweet message letting you know that i finally got my laptop fixed up, so i can now start uploading all that artwork and photos i had lined up to post.
I'm just making sure you knew i wasn't gone, just a little downtime due to technical difficulties.

Update- Still Out Of Commission
General | Posted 9 years agoJust a little update about what's been going on, as my main computer still hasn't been repaired yet. Which unfortunately means that i still can't upload all of the artwork and photos that i've had back logged these last two weeks, but please know that i'm going to get it fixed soon and be back to my usual routine of posting my drawings and stuff.
Bear with me people, i'll get everything up to speed soon i hope.

Lack Of Uploads....
General | Posted 9 years agoIf you've been wondering why i haven't uploaded content in the last few days. It is due to the computer that i normally use for uploads has not been working correctly and i had to take it to be repaired, but please note that i haven't abandoned this account or site. I've just been out out of commission for a few days without a computer to post my art and such on here.
Just hold tight people, i'll be back up as soon as possible.

General | Posted 9 years agoI haven't been able to upload artwork in the last few days due to my computer going on the blink and not working properly, i hope to have it fixed really soon so i can get back to my regular round of art uploading soon.
Bear with me folks, i will get it done when it's back to working right again.

All That Retro Episodes On iTunes... With Music Performances
General | Posted 9 years agoI just found out that Nickelodeon has re released some of the All That season two episodes under the "Retro Essentials" banner a while back. The big difference here is that said eps actually have the music guest performance sequences fully intact with the original opening and closing credits as well, this fact alone really surprised me because i thought that they couldn't legally include the music parts at all. I guess they somehow managed to obtain the royalties for at least these episodes' performances. It's certainly better than nothing to say the least, but i wish they could get the other ones eventually in the future.
Edit: Episode 237 still doesn't have the music guest, but the other three do have theirs included.

Lack Of Artwork
General | Posted 9 years agoYou may have noticed that i haven't uploaded much artwork here lately, well the reason for that is the scanner that i was using to copy the drawings to my computer to post went kaput not too long ago. As of now i'm still trying to find a replacement to start getting back to it eventually.
Anyways, i'm mainly uploading photos as placeholders to ya'll hold over until i can start getting my drawings copied again.

Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie...Coming In 2017!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoI just saw that the revived Hey Arnold! Jungle Movie will be airing on Nick some time next year as a two part TV film, and this is the first that i have heard about it in quite a while. Though the exact time has not been announced yet i think this is still very exciting news, i will definitely be checking it out when it does eventually air. Then we will see the long cliffhanger and loose ends finally be resolved. This is what the series' fans have waited over 12 years for and now it has finally come.
Note: It's quite a coincidence that they're going to be airing it on TV, for that's how Hey Arnold! The Movie was originally planned to be shown back in 2002. As it was initially called Arnold Saves The Neighborhood before they decided to release it to theaters instead which ended up under performing and causing the previously planned Jungle Movie to be shelved for years until now.
Here's the link talking about it.

Two Years Later...
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has already been two whole years since i created my account on this site, and it seems like that time has gone by in the blink of an eye. And over that span i've found a good place here to show off all kinds of stuff whether it be artwork, photos, or other miscellaneous things. Not to mention all the other artists and people of many other interests that i have met in my time here. Another awesome part is all the watches and favorites i've gotten from many of other members on here.
So a happy 2nd year to me as a FA user, and for many more great ones to come.

10 Years Of Angry Video Game Nerd....!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoIt has officially been 10 years since James Rolfe started uploading his famous Angry Video Game Nerd review and rant videos to YouTube back in April 2006 in the site's infancy, this was after he made the two test videos (He never intended it to be an actual full series, at the time it was just another side project done right after he graduated college) about Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest and Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde a couple years before in May/June 2004. The Nerd videos have only expanded upward in popularity ever since then, such is the greatness and comedic genius that his vids are. So a very happy 10th to James and AVGN, may your quest of reviewing crappy games continue for many more years to come.
Wow it's hard to believe that it's been nearly 8 years since i started watching the show, that was way back in May of 2008. Boy how the time flies by.
Here's the new vid he recently uploaded to celebrate this milestone.

Finally Saw Zootopia Today... My Thoughts
General | Posted 9 years agoI finally just saw the film at the cinema today, and it was as interesting as the clips that i saw on TV before it came out. And this being the first time that i've watched a Disney film in theaters since i saw Wreck-It Ralph four years ago. I thought it was a pretty decent film for what it is, and the fact that it is only the fourth feature it the canon to have absolutely no human characters at all after Robin Hood, The Lion King, and Chicken Little. It certainly ended up being better than i'd initially thought from the early sneak peeks that i saw.
So overall on a scale of 1 to 10, i give it a 7.9.

New HQ Version Of 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special On YT
General | Posted 9 years agoI recently found this while looking up videos of the special on Youtube recently, it is a new high quality rip of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from a few months back. This came from someone's collection of videos from back in the day and they just so happened to have a VHS of the complete special in decent quality, way better than the 9th generation bootleg copies that have been long circulating in various forms for years. This is most likely the best quality version of the special in recent history, it even includes a Kenner toy collection commercial and the CBS preemption and special presentation logos from the mid '70s-early '80s.

All That Reunion on "The Splat"- Coming in April
General | Posted 9 years agoI just read that the Splat will be airing an All That reunion event sometime in Apri, which they will be showing to celebrate the show's 22nd anniversary. As the show's pilot episode originally aired as a sneak preview on SNICK on April 16, 1994 before the series officially debuted later on in December the same year. I don't know yet exactly which of the cast members will be in the event, but i will let you know soon.
I wonder if this will be something like the All That 10th Anniversary special that aired on Nick back in April 2005, i still remember when i first watched it after seeing all the promos for weeks before it premiered.
Here's the article i found the news at
https://www.eonline.com/news/751120.....-everyday-life
Update: It looks like Kenan, Kel, Josh, Lori Beth and Danny will indeed be in it. I don't know why the others like Angelique, Katrina and Alishia aren't going to be in it, unless they couldn't do it for whatever reason.

Happy 20th B-Day, Pokemon on GB!!!
General | Posted 10 years agoIt has been 20 years since the original Pokemon Red and Green debuted in Japan on this day back in 1996. Who would of thought that those two simple monochrome games would spawn such a mega hit franchise, and that it would soon spread to the rest of the world in both game and anime form.
So happy 20th Pokemon, and may you continue to be a popular franchise for many more years to come!!!

Happy 30th B-Day to Dragon Ball
General | Posted 10 years agoIt has been 30 years since the Dragon Ball anime series first premiered at 7:00 PM on Fuji TV on February 26, 1986. And for nearly 11 1/2 years was one of the highest rated anime premiering weekly in prime time.
So i say a very happy 30th to Dragon Ball, may you continue to be an ever popular franchise both in animation and in print.
I decided to post this a day in advance just in anticipation of the milestone.

Early Nickelodeon ID's/Bumpers- 1979-1984
General | Posted 10 years agoI found this video while browsing YT, and found these ID's from Nick's early years. This was well before the network became a big success, back when it was just a little known premium channel unlike the juggernaut it became post 1984. These bumpers clearly show how the channel struggled to find it's feet and audience in it's early days.
Note: There is no known footage circulating of the channel when it was under it's 1977-1979 branding of Pinwheel at this time.
Kid Viewing Nickelodeon ID (1979-1980)- The only footage available of the network in it's infancy, this sure is a weird bumper.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tBFmMkQxs8
Nickelodeon Mime ID (1980-1981)- This is most likely the creepiest bumper that the channel ever used, hands down!!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOHA9pSJQTM
"Silver Ball"/Pinball ID's (1981-1984)- Fairly decent, even though the effects used for these bumpers are pretty dated for their time

Favorite to Least Favorite Cartoon Network Brandings
General | Posted 10 years agoThis time i'm listing all of the CN brandings from my favorite to least.
Best
1# Powerhouse (1997-2004)- My absolute favorite CN branding, this is the era in which i watched the channel the most as a kid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynWfhouOSsQ
2# Checkerboard (1992-1997)- Pretty decent, even though i only remember a little of this era as i was still very young when this branding was used.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LS30omqV7U
3# CN City aka YES! (2004-2007)- Fairly good, though i wasn't quite watching it as much by then. It was still cool seeing all the characters interacting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpfTQpIWM1o
Decent
#4 Noods (2008-2010)- This branding was ok-ish, even though the network was still in a bit of a rut at the time. At least it was better than that lame-o Fall '07 branding.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtiIHW9gdI8
5# CHECK It (2010-present)- Ok, though not as great as the ones listed at the top.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ChxdnYUFQ0
Worst
#6 "Fall Is Just Something That Grownups Invented"/ The Hives (late 2007-early 2008)- Absolutely horrible, this is probably the worst of all of CN's brandings. At least it didn't last for very long.

Original Trans-Lux Speed Racer Opening!!!
General | Posted 10 years agoI found a video on YT showing how the intro originally looked before Speed Racer Enterprises remastered the series around 1992 or 1993, this was how it was seen when the show was originally broadcast from 1967-1968. The credit was later eliminated from the opening shot since Trans-Lux had long since closed down by the time SRE acquired the license.

Nickelodeon Suites Hotel in Orlando, FL Rebranding In April
General | Posted 10 years agoI just saw a bit ago that the Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando will be rebranding into Holiday Inn Suites and Resort after April 17, just a little over two months from now. The Nick time capsule which was previously housed at Nickelodeon Studios from it's burial back on April 30, 1992 until the studios' closure (rather ironically happening just 13 years later) in April 2005 when it was then re buried at the hotel after opening will be removed and resettled at another location at some point in the near future.
This will be the hotel's third rebrand, as it originally opened as the Holiday Inn Family Suites back in 1999 and ran under that name for around five or six years prior to the joint venture with Nickelodeon in early 2005. This is a full circle thing as Holiday Inn is effectively retaking the property they owned to start with.
