So it has been a little bit since my last update. I thought I would update my watchers with a progress report.
I'm currently in the final stages (fucking FINALLY) of the story I've been working on. Hopefully, the extended working time means this is of superior quality. I sure will be pissed off if that doesn't turn out to be the case. Writing time has been lagging as I'm working on a story in coalition with someone IN ADDITION to this story. If all goes well, I should have something to present to y'all by this time next week.
The time draws near for me to enter the next stage of my real-life career, however. In two weeks' time, I'll be unleashed onto the unsuspected public with a loaded handgun, a bulletproof vest, and a plethora of knowledge on state and local law and vested authority to exercise it. Just in time for Halloween, too, which anyone who lives in a college town will recognize as the absolute WORST time to be a rookie cop.

I will take any one of these guys out for a beer any day of the week. This is what being a cop is all about. They went to a call, they recognized the threat, and they dealt with it expeditiously and thoroughly.

So, it's been a while since I last tuned in to this channel, and I thought I should give an update. No, I am not dead. Yes, I am still writing, albeit very, very slowly. I'm swamped with work and completely stressed out lately, so finding the motivation to write has been an uphill battle, but I'm trying. I've been working on the same story and stuck at seven pages for two months, but I'm trying.
And for some fun stuff, I thought I'd do that character meme thing for two of my favorite girls: Kat and Tai from the "Study Break" series of stories in my gallery.

So, it's been a while since I last tuned in to this channel, and I thought I should give an update. No, I am not dead. Yes, I am still writing, albeit very, very slowly. I'm swamped with work and completely stressed out lately, so finding the motivation to write has been an uphill battle, but I'm trying. I've been working on the same story and stuck at seven pages for two months, but I'm trying.

This question just occurred to me: Why is beer so delicious?
Okay, first let me clear something up. This is not one of those immature journals you frequently see where the person posts just to say something like "whoa i just had a few wine coolers i'm totally buzzed guyz". This is a legitimate question that I'm curious about.
I love beer, you see. I don't like getting drunk, even though it often happens, as some of my friends will tell you, that I get on MSN with a slight buzz. That only happens on the weekends when I have two beers or mixed drinks instead of one.
What I do love, bar none, is the taste of a good beer. For instance, for lunch today I had a roast beef sandwich, some minestrone, and a bottle of Molson Golden, which is a golden lager beer from Canada. Essentially it's the Canadian equivalent of Bud Light Golden Wheat, but it's fairly tasty and definitely quite refreshing; one of those beers that is quite watery, but the good kind of watery beer, if that makes any sense.
I don't know if I can really describe what makes beer taste good to me. It might be the slight bitterness combined with the coldness of the liquid that I like, but then again I like sweet fruit beers like berry weisses and shandies, too. It's definitely not the alcohol taste that I like, because I really can't stand the taste of alcohol. It's why I need to cut rum with about four parts cola before I can drink it. All I know for certain is that a good beer tastes fantastic, and even a not so great beer is alright on a really hot day. I'll admit, I'm guilty of enjoying a Bud Light or a Miller High Life every now and again.
So for all you other beer drinkers out there, what is it that YOU like about beer?

It's a fairly good setup that I ordered for the price. It's an HP Pavilion p6500z Desktop and here's the specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Athlon II 245 Dual-Core Processor (2.9GHz, 2MB L2, 4000MHz bus)
3GB DDR3 - 1066MHz SDRAM (2 DIMMS) (not a lot, but there are expansion slots so I can add more later)
320GB 7200rpm SATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive
512MB ATI Radeon HD 5450 Graphics Card (DVI, HDMI, VGA)
LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti Drive
I also scored an HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier for $35 with it, so that was a bonus. The whole package was only about $650. For those noticing the lack of a monitor, I've already purchased an Acer 18.5" widescreen LCD.
Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about this, considering my laptop has an ancient ATI Radeon 9600 card and only 1.25GB of memory, plus a single core 1.7GHz processor. I can't wait to start messing around with it.

'Kay, so this is just an update for y'all, my loyal watchers.
Story-writing may be slowing down a bit sometime in the near future. The reason is that I got a job. Doing what, you say?
Please hold your gasps of surprise, horror, and outbursts of intense laughter until the end of this journal.
I'm going to be a police officer. Yeah, that's right. I got accepted into police academy and hired by my local department, so until late October I'll be training nine hours a day, five days a week. This will naturally leave me approximately fucking exhausted, so I might just have enough energy to come home, eat dinner, and pass out.
I'll have weekends free (I think) but two days is not a lot of writing time.
So I'm exchanging a fun time of writing, posting stories on line, and RP-ing with friends for...running, doing push-ups, getting shot at, and being hated by a significant portion of the general public.

So I just bought LoZ: Twilight Princess with some birthday monies I received (used Gamecube copy because I'm not fucking with the Wiimote in a damn Zelda game >.>), and so far it's pretty fucking awesome. I'm only just at the part where Link comes back from the Twilight Realm for the first time (searching for the first shield and sword in the village), because I've only put about two hours into it, but I have to say that I'm completely convinced it's going to be the most awesome game experience I've had since Pokemon Platinum and until Pokemon SoulSilver.
I never really understood the draw of all of the Midna fanart/fanporn, because to all outward appearances she just looks like this little freaky imp, but...
Jesus Christ, Nintendo, you made her so freakishly seductive in her mannerisms and speech that I totally get why she has such a big fan following now. I was playing this game with my family in the same room, and I kept on glancing back at them out of some inner sense of shame that I was getting turned on by this little, naked (and she IS NAKED) imp creature from another dimension.
So long, off to search for copious amounts of Midna arts...

IN PROGRESS: I Don't Want to Say Goodbye
CURRENT DISTRACTION: Pokemon Platinum
After almost a full year of taking requests, I'm closing it off temporarily. I'm just burned out on writing stuff that other people want, and I'm concentrating on stuff that I want to do for a while.
I'm not sure when I'll start taking requests again, but don't count on it anytime soon.
