My superpower would be the ability to stop time, so that I could get more writing done in less time.

Probably the moment I lost my virginity, just so I could tell myself not to act like such a goddamn virgin while doing it! >.<

5. What is your Favorite board Game, do you play Board games?

Some quite shocking pornography. :P
9. Do you steal candy from the Halloween Trick or Treater bucket?

I like chocolate milk. :P I dunno, I can never think of anything for this question.

CURRENT DISTRACTION: Half-Life 2
Yesterday I was attempting to update my video drivers, because it had been something like two years since the last time I did it.
For those who are curious, I own a Lenovo ThinkPad T42 that was made back when IBM was still putting its label on the ThinkPad brand. It's a pretty good laptop, even being five years old. It has a 100GB hard drive, 1.25GB of RAM, a 1.7GHz Pentium M processor, Windows XP Professional, and an ATI MOBILITY Radeon 9600 graphics card, which was top of the line for laptops when I purchased it. The whole thing cost me around $1600, and it's been completely worth it. I try to take really good care of it, running virus and spyware scans twice a week.
The problem arose last night, when I went to the Lenovo support site to download the driver updates for my graphics card, and found that there had been no updates released since the last time I updated.
"Oh, shit" was the first thing out of my mouth. I was kind of scared about that. What if some of my favorite games would no longer function because my video drivers were out of date? In a panic, I started Steam up and fired up Half-Life 2 to see if it would still work.
Imagine my relief when I found that the game still functioned perfectly, even with everything set to the highest settings. No lag, no clipping, no sound garbling, nothing. All was well in the world of Gordon Freeman.
So, why the bleak journal title? Well...I've become addicted to Half-Life 2 once again.
Yeah.
This can't be good.

So I've been banned from the AGNPH Forums yet again.
Apparently the head moderator, Ardy, does not appreciate it when people troll board posters in exactly the same manner as he would do in the exact same situation. Also, it seems that doing in twice in one's entire career on the board (as of yet, constituting about two years) equals "abuse".
Apparently, he also has a problem with it a week after the fact, and not when it actually happens. Presumably after he has finished laughing his ass off at it.

The rules…
1) Post these rules
2) Post 8 true things about yourself
3) At the end you must tag 8 people and post their icons
4) Go to their page and send them a message saying you tagged them
5) NO TAG-BACKS
1) I have chronic acid reflux disease. Basically, I get violent heartburn at random times and without warning. I don't even have to have been eating spicy foods. My doctor said I could tone it down if I don't drink alcohol or eat foods with tomato in them, but goddammit, I'M ITALIAN!
2) I am a white male with nearly ZERO attraction to white females. I have no idea why, all I know is that Indian (as in the country India) women are a supreme turn-on for me.
3) This might surprise some of you. But I love boobs. Those of you who it does not surprise, it should be obvious to. XD
4) Entomology is my big passion in life. I LOVE insects, and I LOVE studying insects. My favorite insect is the red-tailed flesh fly, in fact. XD
5) I was happy when Michael Pervert *cough cough* Excuse me. When Michael Jackson died. I almost cried when Billy Mays died.
6) I love alcohol. Some people already know this. However, please do not think I am an alcoholic. I drink perhaps four times a month. I just have a DEEP appreciation for good spirits. :P Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss, Guinness, and Captain Morgan's Original are my favorites. What about y'all?
7) Writing often takes precedent over real life for me. O.O
8) While I am not a virgin, I have only had sex three times. All with the same girl. All in the same night.
Not tagging anyone because I think everyone I know has already been tagged. XD

Ripped ever so tenderly from the journal of
sanuramosi
This is how it goes:
1.) Comment on this journal with a photo of yourself.
2.) I will comment back with one thing I really like about how you look!
3.) Do the meme in your own journal!
Additional notes:
-ABSOLUTELY NO nude or non-worksafe photos.
-fullbody photos are preferred, but if you don't have one, a shoulders-up sort of photo is fine.
-you may comment on other people's photos with something you like about their looks as well, if you wish! However, please do not feel it reflects at all on your personal attractiveness if I am the only one who comments on YOUR photo - after all, some people might be commenting on their friends' pictures and just don't know you, some might have different tastes, or just might be too shy to leave you a comment!
-ABSOLUTELY NO comments on sexual anatomy: breasts, butts, and groins are OFFLIMITS. This is to make people feel good, not uncomfortable.
-please repost these rules in full when you do the meme.

I was watching one of those Volkswagen "future self car recommendation" commercials when a question came to my mind. Perhaps someone can answer it for me.
Say someone travels forward or backward in time. If you were to have sex with your spouse or significant other in the future or past, would it count as cheating on your spouse or significant other in the present?
And to compound the conundrum, what if you had sex with them in a period in time when they were with someone else, and not with you? Would that mean that THEY were cheating on someone?
These are the kinds of questions that pop into my head when I am bored.

Here's a rather unusual meme that's been drifting around slowly:
"Love is..."
Complete this statement with one word or phrase that defines love for you.
For me, love is having the faith to believe that someone will be at home every night, and having that faith rewarded.

ysrntyCigarettes and the Smoking of Them
General | Posted 16 years agoMOST RECENT STORY: Going Home: Final Chapter: The Departure
IN PROGRESS: Family Matters
CURRENT DISTRACTION: Pokemon LeafGreen
Okay, I know some of you are going to read the next sentence and either stop reading, bite my head off, or both.
Today, I tried my first cigarette.
If you got past that sentence, congratulations. You've got the sanity and maturity required to read the rest of this journal.
Yes, I'm aware that smoking is terrible for me. Yes, I have asthma and I was aware that the first puff could potentially have killed me. Yes, I am aware that it was a very stupid thing to do.
However, NO, I do not plan to ever do it again.
I suppose the motive behind this was to see what all the hype was about. I have a few friends who smoke, none of them more than two or three cigarettes a day, and I just wanted to try it. My grandfathers on both sides and my grandmother on my mother's side smoked nearly their entire lives (my dad's dad died of lung cancer, and my mom's parents quit when I was in elementary school). My mother smoked when she was young (quit before she met my dad), as did my aunt (quit) and my uncle (God rest his soul...no, he died in a car crash, not from smoking). I guess you could say that smoking is in my blood, but then again my parents and grandparents grew up in the days where smoking was a lot more common and the cigarette companies hadn't yet been forced to be honest about the health risks associated with smoking.
So, anyways, this evening I walked from my dorm to a convenience store on Hillsborough Street and purchased a pack of Camel No. 9 Menthe cigarettes, for about six bucks (quick note here: for about that much, I could have purchased a filling meal at the Chinese restaurant a few blocks down the street). Yes, I am aware those cigarettes are for girls. All I did was say "can I get a pack of Camels", and those were the first thing the nice lady behind the counter pointed to, so I said "yeah, those".
I walked back to my dorm room, and then I opened the pack. I smelled the cigarettes and thought it over.
Nice smell...Reminded me of prunes and a hint of candy, with just a touch of mint.
Packaging was pretty cool, too. Black box, outlined in mint green, and the lettering was pink. The foil lining inside was pink as well.
Price was...Well, for the price I could have gotten a fairly nice cigar at the tobacconists shop on the other end of the street. It would've been a lot more healthy (yes, I am aware it's not a healthy thing to do, but as it's pure tobacco, it's a hell of a lot safer than a cigarette and there are sure a lot of worse things I could do to my body). I guess I can't complain about the price, as it was a learning experience, but now I wish I hadn't paid so much. Anyway...
After mulling it over for a few more minutes, I opened my desk drawer and pulled out a lighter, and then went to my backpack and retrieved my inhaler, just in case something went really, really wrong. So I wouldn't make a complete ass of myself, I walked away from my dorm to a courtyard that's deserted in the evening. I've heard horror stories of people passing out or puking with their first cigarette, and I sure didn't want anyone to see that if it happened, so I was glad to be alone. Then it was time for the moment of truth. I lit up that first cigarette.
The first puff was just to taste the smoke. I'm not gonna lie, it tasted pretty damn good. I guess that's how they hook people initially, is the taste. It really had a minty flavor, which I'm assuming meant it was a menthol cigarette (double bad, yes, I know). Next, I was going to actually inhale the smoke.
I admit, I wimped out on the second and third puff. I was actually pretty scared. What if I died from just one puff of a cigarette? What if I got addicted from my first cigarette? What if a friend suddenly walked up and walked away thinking I was the stupidest goddamn person in the world? (And even I have to admit that they would sort of have a point)
Anyway, on the fourth puff, I inhaled.
Ladies and gentlemen, that was enough to turn me off from smoking. I don't understand how ANYONE can smoke this shit. It was FUCKING HOT. I thought my lungs were on FIRE. My God, they STILL ache, even an hour later! I breathed out almost immediately upon feeling the sensation, that's how bad it was. But I manned up and finished the cigarette, because I was going to go all the way with this experiment. I regret that now, but that's what learning is for.
And don't get me started on this supposed "buzz" that you're supposed to get from smoking. People, I get more of a buzz from a shitty-ass can of Milwaukee's Best Ice after eating a seven-course dinner. For God's sake, I get more of a buzz from a CIGAR, and you don't even inhale those!
As we speak, the remainder of the pack is sitting in the drawer beside my computer desk. I do not plan to smoke any more of them. I'm either going to give them to one of my smoking friends or throw them in a trash can on my way to class tomorrow morning.
People reading this, if you ever get the slightest inkling to smoke a cigarette, don't fucking do it. It's not worth it, in EVERY sense of the phrase. If you want to look cool, buy a pair of nice sunglasses for about $200 (which is about 4% of what the typical smoker spends on cigarettes in a YEAR). If you want to enjoy the taste of tobacco, get a pipe or smoke a cigar once every two weeks, like I do. If you want a buzz, go out drinking with friends every once in a while, which is something I also enjoy (please drink responsibly).
Just don't smoke a cigarette. You're gonna regret it, sooner or later.

To all you aspiring and current writers out there,
I am going to share with you the secret of overcoming that most hated and feared opponent of all of the literature-inclined: the dreaded writer's block. And that secret is music.
No matter what state of writer's block you might be in, and no matter how long it has lasted, music can and will cure it. I frequently find myself struggling to write, but rather than get off the computer or put down the pencil, I turn on my iPod and listen to music.
Not just any music will do, though, as I have discovered. The ideal music is purely instrumental. That is, it has no lyrics, no words of any kind. I've found that having my mind half-focused on the lyrics of a song is quite distracting, and actually hinders the writing process.
But, not just any instrumental music will do, either. The best kind of music, in my experience, is music that has a good beat and is a moderately speedy tempo. For example, right now I am listening to my favorite writing music: the soundtrack to the computer game Half-Life 2.
Other favorites that I've found help me write are the soundtracks to Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 5, as well as the soundtrack to Final Fantasy X. The music from the Command & Conquer series of PC RTS games is also very good. Some movie soundtracks may help, but so far the only one that I've found helps very much is Joe Hisaishi's score for Princess Mononoke.
So, if you ever find yourself lost for words or stuck in a rut, turn on some good music. I guarantee it will help you overcome your writer's block.

As of today, everything on AGNPH seems to be running relatively smoothly. Varka has a thread on the forums for reporting bugs if you see them, and the bugs seem to be being fixed fairly speedily.
If you're still getting redirected to the message from Eevee about AGNPH being down, it's a simple matter of manually deleting all private data and cookies related to AGNPH (in other words, using the "Clear Private Data" command in Firefox will not work for it).
It was a rough couple of days, but we've weathered the storm and are under new management.

CURRENT DISTRACTION: Pokemon LeafGreen
As of today, everything on AGNPH seems to be running relatively smoothly. Varka has a thread on the forums for reporting bugs if you see them, and the bugs seem to be being fixed fairly speedily.
If you're still getting redirected to the message from Eevee about AGNPH being down, it's a simple matter of manually deleting all private data and cookies related to AGNPH (in other words, using the "Clear Private Data" command in Firefox will not work for it).
It was a rough couple of days, but we've weathered the storm and are under new management.

1) Yes, AGNPH is totally down.
2) No, I don't know when it will be back up. Please stop asking me. As far as I know, Doc and Eevee didn't know/care I was an admin, so obviously they told me nothing. I know just as much as you all do about the site's current state.
3) As soon as Varka gets back to me with an answer, I WILL TELL YOU. Contrary to beliefs among certain people from AGNPH (read: the fuckers who didn't know how to write), I am not a heartless, ruthless bastard.
4) Yes, I am aware of how ironic the last sentence of the previous statement was.
5) I want some Oreos.
6) Titties.

Finally, the jury came to the correct decision.
For anyone not familiar with this case, Robert Higbee is a New Jersey state trooper who was in the middle of a low-speed chase at night, went through an intersection, and hit a car traveling through the intersection, killing two teenage girls who were on the way home from the store. Higbee was following all legal police procedure during the chase, including traveling through an intersection, and according to every policeman's organization consulted on the case he did nothing wrong. Yet he was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide because he was supposedly "reckless".
For anyone to be found reckless, they must reasonably know that what they are doing is extraordinarily risky, and still go ahead with the action they are considering. In this case, the legal definition of reckless was not met, because Trooper Higbee would normally have taken that risk, as any police officer would have, during any pursuit. Even though it was a risk to go through the intersection, it was not an EXTRAORDINARY risk. The vast majority of police organizations were astounded that charges were even brought against Trooper Higbee.
Condolences to both the families of Robert Higbee and the victims' families, because both parties have been through awful times during the two years that this case has been ongoing. But I don't think this case could have been prosecuted successfully and resulted in anything but a marked decrease in the quality of police work nationwide. If we make our officers hesitant to engage in pursuits of drivers who are driving unsafely, then we expose everyone on the road to greater danger.

I ganked it from somebody, but I don't remember who.
1 – Do you and your "fursona" look alike?
Not really. Apart from the fact that we're different sexes, she's a bit taller than me, and has different colored hair. The fur is kind of problematic as well. We have the same eye color, though (green), and she has pierced ears like I do.
2 – Do you and your "fursona" share attires?
Other than that she'll wear a skirt every now and again, yeah, pretty much. Pants and short-sleeved shirts, with military-style clothing as well.
3 – Do you share the same sexuality as your fursona?
For the most part. She's about 95% straight, whereas IRL I'm 100% hetero. It's honestly just a little more exciting when your fantasy character goes both ways from time to time.
4 – If you hadn’t already made your fursona look like you, if you would to change how he/she looked like to make him/her look more like you, how would you think he/she would look like?
For starters, I think I'd make her male. But I like her the way she is.
5 – Did you work hard to develop your fursona? What is the (brief) history of your fursona?
I didn't really work that hard. She popped into my head pretty much fully-formed when I was in middle school. The rest was just me developing her backstory.
6 – Do you and your fursona share relationship status?
She is attached and I am not, so no. >.> Actually, to be quite honest, in my fantasy world she's my girlfriend, so I suppose you could consider her a sort of quasi-fursona.
7 – Do you find yourself jealous or upset if you get paired with someone you don’t like or your partner does?
D: She would never do that!
8 – How would you like your character not to be used?
Solo porn is fine, but I don't like to see her with characters other than my human character and her fur friend.
9 – What’s your fursona’s specialty?
In my furry stories, she's into law. In my science fiction stories, she's a military girl from a background of royalty.
10 – At a score of 1-10 how much are you and your fursona alike?
I'll call this one a 4, since we share the same interests but not a lot of the same personality traits or physical characteristics.
I her anyway, though.

I do so love it when you decide to slip right on the very edge of my upper lip. Thank you so much for the crimson afternoon greeting you gave me this fine Saturday. I was in such a wonderful mood, and your gift only contributed to the overall theme of the day.
Thank you so much! I was growing worried when my shave went so absolutely perfectly all over the rest of my face. And then you revealed that I would not be disappointed when I felt the lovely stinging kiss on the final stroke of the blade upon my lip.
Your work was masterful, really. Half an hour later, I still had the flowing, rosy reminder of your gesture of affection. Dripping down my face and onto the tip of my tongue, the sanguine flow brought to mind the many times before now that you have shown your love for me.
So thank you, razor blade, for cutting the goddamn fuck out of my motherfucking lip.
Lovingly resolving to grow a mustache,
Havoc

Somehow I seem to be an admin on AGNPH now.
I have no idea how it happened or what led to it happening, but Shiguya made me his replacement.
I suppose I will do my best, and try not to abuse my powers for personal gain.
