RIP Stan Lee
Posted 7 years agoWHAT THE FUCK, RYANAIR?!
Posted 7 years agoSaw this story on Phillip DeFranco's channel about Ryanair not doing a damn thing about this fat old white British racists asshole verbally assaulting this poor disabled woman:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPuDkz8TApA
I mean, seriously? Ryanair should have put a boot to this guy's ass and kick the fat-fuck off the plane! Hell, they should have tossed him out the cabin door and fall to the ground below! That's how pissed I feel toward this bastard. I mean, seriously, it's the 21st century, and we still have racist in parts of the world! It's pathetic!
And the airline turned a blind eye. They told authorities and that they would handle the matter, but I think that wasn't good enough. They should have taken serious action on the spot.
What are your thoughts on this shit?

Paypal Problems...
Posted 7 years agoSo today I try sending $10 to my Debit card via paypal, like I usually do once in a while, and for some reason today, it denies the transfer. I tried again, twice, same problem. I call up Paypal Customer Service, and they tell me the problem could be on my Bank's end. I then try calling my Huntington Bank's customer service, and they said the issue must be on paypal's side (plus they say someone else is having a similar problem, since another bank teller is on the phone with another guy with the exact same problem). I then called paypal again, and try transferring money to my debit card again, but this time, the Transfer would be delayed 24 hours for security reasons. I hesitate and cancel. They suggest that there may be a limit on my card, I then recall Huntington - they say there is no limits on their debit cards. So while I'm talking to them, I decide to transfer to my debit card with the 24 delay and no 0.25 cent fee anyways, just for the hell of it.
I don't know what's going, since this hasn't happen to me before. They say it cannot be a hack, so what is it? A transfer error? Anyone else having or had similar problems like this before? =/

TOP 10 FILM SEQUELS THAT WEREN'T NEEDED
Posted 7 years agoSince my birthday is only one week away (on the 13th), I really don't have anything planned other that maybe order take out of go out to eat somewhere. But that's not why I'm here today. I want to talk about movie sequels - you either love them, hate them, or somewhere in between. There's are sequels out that critics love, but fan hated, and vise versa, and then there are sequel that in public opinion where never needed in the first place, like those direct to video/DVD releases we always get.
Here, I talk about my top 10 movies that I felt never needed to be made, as in my personal opinion, they either just don't live up their predecessors or they just didn't added anything to their respective franchise. So here is my list of top 10 movie sequels that were never needed to begin with:
TOP 10 MOVIE SEQUELS THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE MADE:
10.) Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
I'm starting with a video-base film. Now we all know that most, if not all video-game-base film adaptions can suck. From Super Mario Bros., to Doom, we can mostly agree that they aren't good, but there were just a select few in my opinion at least that pass the bar just enough to warren my liking, and the first Mortal Kombat is one of them. My Dad & I went to go see it in theaters when it came out in 1995, and in my Dad's own words at the time, it was "Kick-ass from beginning to end." I even remember my Dad saying "Jesus Christ" or "Holy Shit" when Shang Tsung crushed Chan Kang's back in the beginning dream sequence. It was that bad-ass of a film at the time. However, none of that could be said for its sequel, Annihilation. First off, recasting Johnny Cage was the first red flag for me. That pretty much told me something was off, and boy was I right. The whole story line for the film was terrible. Shan Khan breaking the rules and causing mayhem, Raiden becoming mortal, and let's not forget the HORRIBLE SHITTING CGI that was the Bestiality Fight sequence - it was hideous! But what do you except from 90's CGI, right? Overall, the whole movie was just to cash in on the fame and popularity of the first film, without putting any thought into the story or the characters.
09.) The Resident Evil sequels
I'm going to get right to the point. The 1st Resident Evil film was perfection for a early 2000's horror action film based on a game. For me at least, it is a film done right. The characters, the setting, and the pacing was spot on for me, as it build up the reveals and unlocking the mystery of the film little by little until the end. For me, it was good all by itself. The sequels were, again, more cashing in on the previous film, but worse - continuing the cycle every time. While the first film had a solid story and setting, the sequels was all about mindless action and gore at the expense to turning Milla Jovovich's character Alice into the new Ellan Ripley. The whole thing about the sequels was pointless for me. I was hoping it would end with part 3, Extinction, but it just kept going and going like a demonic energizer bunny on crack. Even though the sequels are done, I still feel like they just didn't contribute anything to the first film. Like I said, the first film stands on its own.
08.) Starship Troopers 2 & 3
Before I begin, I never saw the first CGI, Invasion, so that one is not going on the list. Second, I did watch Traitor of Mars, and I was at least happy they brought back Casper Van Dien & Dina Meyer to replay their characters. That was the only saving grace for that film, so it's off the list too. With that in mind, Starship Trooper 2: Hero of the Federation, and 3: Marauder, was pure shit in it's entirety. The first sequel was more like a sci-fi horror film that didn't fit in with the franchise, and the character were forgettable. Nothing in the first sequel stands out or makes tribute to its film series in any way shape or form. If this didn't have Starship Troopers in the title, and you change the setting a bit, this could have been a cheesy B-rated original sci-fi film for Sci-Fi Channel, but that's as far as I go with it. Marauder on the other hand, while it does bring back Johnny Rico, the story is the same shit again, with forgettable characters and a plot that also does little to add to the series' mythos. Both of these films just don't live up to the original.
07.) Tremors 4-6
The first trilogy of Tremors films, in my personal opinion, were great. They completed the films' overall story line and complimented each other very well. Its prequel and two additional sequels, on the other hand, do nothing but give Micheal Gross a paycheck and something to do. While I LOVE Burt Gummer to bits for his military wackiness, I feel that the last 3 installments do nothing except inflate his ego and just repeats what was done before in the first trilogy. And the fact that he had a son in the 5th & 6th films felt just put in for the sake of it. Overall, the 2nd trilogy was just another made-for-tv cash-in.
06.) Hollow Man 2
I remember seeing a teaser trailer for the first film, thinking that the plot was about a convict getting sentenced to invisibility as an experiment, only to escape and cause mayhem. I was immediately hooked and couldn't wait for see the first film in theaters. When the full trailer came out and gave me the real story, I was still hooked and ampted to see it. The film's story about Kevin Bacon's character testing his invisibility serum on himself and finding out it can't be reversed, and seeing him slowly lose his sanity and become a homicidal killer is just pure sci-fi action horror fun. That can not be said of the 2006 sequel. I get that in the story they introduce a "buffer" serum for the brain to avoid going crazy like in the first film, but even so, the whole was just another "take-2" of the first story, but with two hollow men fighting each other in the end. They even just put in flashbacks of the Kevin Bacon's character going invisible from the first film in this one when the guy explains how the current guy became the new test subject. Pure laziness. Overall, nothing new to contribute in any way, and that's why I say the 1st Hollow Man should stay a stand-alone film.
05.) The Predator
I love the first two Predator films, just as much as I love the Whole ALIEN Quadriliogy films. Even 2010's Predators is sequel done right in my opinion, but 2018's The Predator was just a huge mess from beginning to end. The story was ridiculous, and the characters were dimension-less. I felt like the movie overall was trying too hard to make a likable sequel and failed miserably. The super predator was just terrible and seem like the writers just ran out of ideas. And the ending in which the good guys got their own Predator Armored to fight other Yautja in the future, while looks cool and fun, seems pretty dame stupid. I would have been happy if they just reverse-engineered all the pred-tech and just created their own weapons an armor. Overall, the movie was pure Pred-dog shit.
04.) The Thing 2011
The first film from 1982 (which is a remake of the 1950's sci-fi classic) was a pure science-horror MASTERPIECE. The dark tone of the story, along with the isolation setting made the film scary and dark as hell. I remember watching my recorded VHS copy all the time since I was like 8 or 9 years old, and it was the version with The Four Tops's "One Chain Don't Make No Prison" in stead of "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder playing on Nauls' stereo in the Kitchen. While the 1982 remake was perfection in a Film reel, it's the total opposite for it's 2011 prequel. First off, way to many inconsistencies, like in the original film, there were only 10 total Norwegians station at their camp, while in this prequel, there are like 12 + 4 Americans in total. Inconsistencies like that is a big no-no in my book. Also, the people behind the scenes were originally going with practical effects for most of the creatures, but the higher-ups said otherwise. Then there's the UFO itself - It looks NOTHING like the original from the 1982 "sequel." That one prop piece alone really got on my nerves. For me, The Thing prequel is only half of how you do a sequel, while half of it is done by producers who either forgotten the small details of the first film, or just never gave a shit to begin with.
03.) Jurassic Park III & the Jurassic World films
Jurassic Park 1, a masterpiece. The Lost World: Jurassic Park, a good sequel to said masterpiece. Jurassic III, is just a big pile of shit, weather it's dog shit or dino-shit. First, the 3rd installment felt rushed in someway. Second, having a side story about raptors being smarter than dolphins was just stupid, it felt like a joke. The only saving grace for J3 is the T-rex getting its' ass killed off by the Spinosaurus and having said Spinosaurus as the main villain. Other than that, nothing new. Jurassic World & Fallen Kingdom, to me, just felt like they were trying too hard to bring back the "magic" of the first film for a modern audience, and while it might have worked, I still feel like they both just can't live up to the original Micheal Crichton classic.
02.) Terminator Salvation & Terminator Genisys
I know that Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines should be on this list, but I'm giving that film a pass, because of the Judgement Day ending. I felt that T3 ending with the start of the war was a good send off for the film itself, and I remember my Dad saying he liked how it ended in that fashion. However, its' sequel, Salvation, while trying to picture what the war would actually look like, felt like another generic apocalyptic sci-fi war film with Christian Bale in it. As for the super sloppy mess of garbage that is Genisys - TOTAL BULLSHIT. The story of having the original timeline re-written was totally dumb, and it just leaves a lot of writers trap-doors. A complete waste of potential and a total waste of time. This film should be burned.
01.) The Star Wars Prequels & Sequels
The Original Star Wars Trilogy. We all know it, and we all love it to death. The original trilogy, along with its' 80s Droids & Ewoks cartoon series, and even the shitty Ewoks films, were in my opinion, all the Star Wars you'll ever need. Now, when the first prequel was coming out, I wasn't hyped, but I was all for it. But after watching it a few times, it felted like a disappointment. The same is said for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. They may have started out great during their first showings, but then you realize just how bad they are after a 2nd viewing. The CGI was BAD. And that's not counting that living, walking, & talking turd that is Jar jar Binks. I'm not going to go into details, because you can look up Red Letter Media's review of the prequels to get what I'm talking about. As for The force Awakens, I liked the film as it felt like it was going back to the series' roots, but I can only watch so many times before I'm sick and tired of it. As for The Last Jedi...a big middle finger to the fans. Enough said.

And it happens again...
Posted 7 years agoUPDATE 9-25-18: Got the $15 back today! =)
A few days ago, I updated my core membership, and just like last time, they take not $15, but $30, AGAIN!
Luckily, I was expecting this. Originally, I was going to put in a full $50 for a year-long extension, but decided to go with $15, just to be safe. I'm glad I did.
After trusting my gut, and seeing this happening again, I decided to contact the Help Desk. I had to use Internet Explorer, because for some odd reason, the Help Desk won't spawn in FireFox. After explaining the problem in a post, I waited a couple of days, and finally got this reply this afternoon:
Thanks for providing the information I've requested.
After looking into your purchase history, I see this second charge is a pending hold to ensure funds were available for your order. Rest assured as this pending transaction will expire within 10 business days.
If you have additional questions or concerns regarding this matter, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards, Anthony J

So this means that the double-purchase error is intentional as a precaution?
Well, I'll wait until the 10 days are up, and if the $15 isn't back in my bank, I'll contact them again.
Other than that bullshit, This month has been uneventful. I'm still working on finishing up Different's comic commission, despite claiming that I would have it done over the last 3 months. Right now, I'm currently doing the shading and highlights, and HOPEFULLY, I will actually have it completed this week for real this time. You can blame me due to work IRL and laziness if you guys want. I don't mind.
^^;
Anyways, gotta go.

Recovering...
Posted 7 years agoFinally got to go to the dentist today and take a look at the toothache, and the doctor said that the cavity was very bad, going down into the root of the tooth, so she gave me two options: pull out the tooth, or get it crowned. And because my Medicaid didn't cover crowning, I made the hard decision to have the tooth pulled. They gave me injections in the gums to numb everything, and I spent the next 10-15 minutes feeling tight pressure (that wasn't too painful, but made me weep in case of pain) as they slowly removed the tooth. When it was finally out, I ask them if I could have a look, and the tooth had this big hole on its side. It was bad. I wanted to keep it, but they had to throw it for bio hazard reasons.
So right now, I'm at home, feeling much better, and using gauze cloths to press against the extraction area to created a blood clot that will seal the hole. I'm also taking my pain meds, just in case I have pain. Can't spit for now until the clot is formed, and I can't drink from a straw until next week. Tomorrow, I'll have rinse with warm salted water 3-times a day, at least until I got back to work on Thursday. Also have to rinse gently after every meal for the next few days.
I just hope the healing process goes by without any further problems or complications. Wish me luck. =)

Teethache DX...
Posted 7 years agoMy left side sores. It starts out with the back teeth on the top and bottom and then flares up through the gum line to the front almost. And flaring comes and goes so often that I have to almost constantly gurgle luke warm water to calm the nerves. I've been having this problem since Tuesday, and it's been keeping me up all night for the last two nights! DX
I don't have dentist, since I haven't seen a dentist in 9 years ude to moving out of state, so I'm going to have to ask my social worker for help finding a dentist to see ASAP. I don't know if this pain from from lack of enammal or a cavity or just bad gums.
I just hope I can get the help I need to make this pain go away. I can't work at my new job or on commissions like this.
UPDATE:
I think the problem is from this back tooth on the top-left:
https://orig00.deviantart.net/c49f/.....ra-dcikpu9.jpg
I've told my social worker and she gave me oral gel & pain meds to numb the pain (at long last), plus she got me a number to dental clinic, which I'm going to on Monday! =)
Hopefully they can help me with this tooth problem so I can get back to work.
Wish me luck.

First Paycheck! 8D
Posted 7 years agoFirst off, I wanna thank
Bladedge for loaning me $15 until I got the $15 returned to me for the mishap I mentioned in the last journal. The $15 extra that was taken from my bank when I updated my subscription here was return a few days ago, and I manage to return the $15 JD loaned me. I am thankful for his help.
Anyways, just got my 1st paycheck from Pizzahut today, and I was surprise at the amount. I thought it would be $40-$50 at best, but the total ended up being $91.79! 8D
And that was just for about 9-10 hours+ during the first week, I think?
I'm looking forward to my second week's paycheck, which will be next Friday, which should be over $110 for doing 14 hours.
Anyways, I completed the lineart for Different's comic commission, as well as the lineart for the 3 versions of the 9th YCH auction for winner
barcod. I should have both done by either the end of next week, or the end of the month tops, depending on my work schedule.
I also have plans for my 10th YCH, which will be drawn out soon after when I start work on sketching PurpleHedgie's commission.
So overall, I have still have some work to do. Hope I can get these done.

GODDAMMIT DA!!!
Posted 7 years agoOK, so get this, I got up this morning after getting me next payment for groceries, and I decided to get just a 3-month extension on my DA membership until I have more than enough money to take care of things.
I put $15 from my debit card on to my subscription, and look what happens, they charged me TWICE:
https://orig00.deviantart.net/bbd1/.....ra-dcg79zq.jpg
THEY CHARGED ME TWICE!!!!
I'm currently trying to contact the Help Desk. Who know when this will be deal with.
I want my extra $15 back!!!
...Don't suppose anyone can just paypal me a $15 to make up for this if nothing happens with the Help Desk? =(

I'M EMPLOYEED!!! 8D
Posted 7 years agoFinally, after 9 long years, I got a new job!
I'll be working at my local Pizza Hut as part of production staff, making the pizzas, kitchen prep/clean up, etc.
So far, I just finished my first day on the job, and it was pretty good so far, although I still need practice stretching the dough into crust size. So I still have a long ways to go in terms of learning the ropes.
Anyways, now that I'm working, I'm going to be having a little less time to work on YCHs & Commissions. But I promise to get to everyone's when I got the time for it.
Wish me luck! =3

Sorry for the screw up. ^^;

I'm not dead
Posted 7 years agoI've spent the last week drawing up Different1357902468's 4-panel Sonic Riders Zero Gravity comic commission, and All I have left is to draw up Rika in her 3 Extreme Gear poses, riding the Magic Ride Yacht Gear (the magic broom). I also had a job interview on Wednesday, which I didn't snag.
I also have yet to sketch
sam_the_Hedgehog121'S commission, and I'm going to get those today. Hopefully I have his 2-sketch adult commission done by the 15th. I also have to start the lineart and coloring on the YCH winner's auction piece. So I'm still busy just on these 3 commissions. I'm sorry for keeping everyone in the dark. These things take, especially if it's a comic. ^^; ^^; ^^;

Posted 7 years agoToday was crazy warm! While I was walking to & from the Walmart, the temperature outside was like 77-80 degrees! And I was wearing black jeans and dark shirt, so you can guess what happens when you wear dark colored clothing on warm weather. I was tired walking home, just because of the weather. Once I got home, I turn up the AC and took a shower and put on some fresh clean clothes.
And this is just a taste of what summer will bring for me, that's for sure!
Anyways, commission slots are filled, and I'll be starting work on them again along with the YCH winner's commission this week, and I'll see if I can get the YCH commission posted by the 15th. With any luck, I'll see to having a few of these commissions done by the end of the month.

RIP Stephen Hawking...
Posted 7 years agoI just found out that the great Stephen Hawking has passed away at the age of 76, from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/stephen-.....035055007.html
For a long time, he was one of the greatest human minds that ever lived. Even though I'm not a science geek in any way, I did know of him from a few documentaries and TV appearances.
Rest in Piece, Mr. Hawking.

10 years, and I still miss her...
Posted 7 years ago10 years ago today, my Mom passed away from blood clot in her bad leg. I still remember the last thing I did for her earlier before that night, buying her a fish sandwich from McDonalds.
There are times I still think about her, and ask myself if she were alive today, would she like it here in Ohio? Or any of the places me & my Dad had moved to over the years, like Rochester MI, or Dover, DE?
I don't know for sure. But I like to think that if she were still alive today, I like to think we would all still be living together in Warren, MI, on Blackmar Ave. I either would still be employed by the Detroit News/Free Press, or if worse comes to worse, have a different job elsewhere. And even though my Dad's ex-girlfriend Angela (aka, the devil woman) got me my SSID, I also like to think that she would still have helped me get my SSID income if my Mom were still alive. Maybe even with my Mom's help have even a bit more income than what I usually get each month, and would be working part-time for a certain amount of hours so that the income doesn't drop.
But that's only my fantasies. My dreams of what if.
Either way, I still miss her very much. I miss her smile, her voice, & her cooking. I miss getting hugs from her. I miss her laugh. She kept my family together. And for that, I will always be grateful.
I love you, Mom. I always will.

Seriously Considering Patreon
Posted 8 years agoFirst off, I apologies for not updating as much over the last 3 weeks. I've spending spending all that time dedicated to completing both the YCHs #3 & #4, which are both now on FurAffinity, as well as finishing up Captain-Jim55's Star Trek Online Commission, which is now finished, and awaiting final payment before posting.
Anyways, I was looking over some old artwork sketches that I've made over the past few years, and I realized I have a quite a handful of them. Most of them are art projects, including some fanart, from 2012-2016, and I even found a fanart piece for an fellow DA artist from 2005 that I never even colored!
Because these sketches were originally planned to be colored and posted on my sites, but never fully realized, I'm considering opening up a Patreon Page that will focus not only on previews of future art, YCHs, & Commissions, but so these old sketches as future drawing projects.
I'm still not 100% certain about opening up a Patreon Page, but if I do, I would really like to include these old sketches as part of my future art projects and previews for the account.
What do all of you think?

From 2017 To 2018
Posted 8 years agoAs the last journal for this year, I just want to say that I hope next year is a good one.
I still got to handle a lot of things, though. Other than commissions and YCHs, I still have to take care of renewing Social Security, getting help from Beacon Health on finding work, and I know that my folks are thinking of moving out of the state by the end of 2018, so my Dad will have to eventually pass the payment for my SSDI to me, and teach me how to pay bills. Other than that, I just hope the rest of the new year goes by well without any trouble.
I've been thinking about opening a Patreon or Ko-Fi account, but I don't know yet. I want to wait until I have the current commission list finished first before I decide. I also got some old sketches from way back as 2012, and even a pic from 2005 that I want to color eventually. Hopefully, I'll try to make the time.
Anyways, I like to wish everybody a HAPPY NEW YEAR, and we'll see you in 2018!

Top 10 Christmas Movies/Specials
Posted 8 years agoSince Christmas Day is almost over with, I thought I would share my Top 10 favorite Christmas Film/TV Specials. So let just get right to it:
MY TOP 10 CHRISTMAS FILMS:
10.) Amazing Stories: "Santa '85" (1985)
Sadly, there is no trailer for this episode for Season 1 of Amazing Stories, but I will leave a link to the full episode on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pzUsLHMb70
09.) Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983)
This is one of those made for TV specials from the early 80's that I was most fond of as it was this special that introduced me to both the story of "A Christmas Carol" as well as Scrooge McDuck himself:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNfzL9r1DIo
08.) The Grinch (2000)
Unlike the original 1960's animated classic, this film is a more in-depth look at Cindy Lou, the Grinch, and his origins. Overall, the full-length Jim Carrey film is a story about Redemption and finding that Christmas isn't all commercialized:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQV5Pr7pWtM
07.) Home Alone 1 & 2 (1990-92)
Both of the first two films in the franchise tie here, as both were funny and fun to watch. Seeing Kevin beat up The Wet Bandits with his house & apartment booby traps is a real blast of entertainment! I remember the first time seeing the second film my family & laughing SO HARD at Merv getting electrocuted into a skeleton! LOL!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEDaVHmw7r4
&
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h9VDUNtoto
06.) Gremlins (1984)
This film was also part of my early childhood during the Christmas season. Part Horror, part Comedy, all Spielberg Magic at it's best:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9DNOuEv7iI
05.) The Santa Clause (1994)
Only the first film deserves to be on anyone's xmas film list. The two sequels do not. Enough said:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t067u2Jnks0
04.) Christmas Everyday (1996)
This is the only Made-for-TV film that's in my top 5. This Family Channel classic is a personal favorite of mine about a teenager reliving Christmas Day until he learns the truth meaning of the Holiday. Again, no trailer, but here's a link to the full film on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRxf3wbbHMw
03.) Disney's A Christmas Carol (2009)
Disney's 2009 masterpiece of Charles Dickens' classic has become a personal favorite of mine for quite a while now. Jim Carrey as Scrooge just works. After all, if he could play the Grinch, he can no-dough play Scrooge:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ3lr3urgDU
02.) The Polar Express (2004)
The story, the music, and the depiction of the North Pole just makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Everything about this film is magical. Hell, any Holiday film with Tom Hanks in it has to be:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQhRqtt-Fpo
01.) Santa Claus: The Movie (1985)
Many people always have Tim Allen's The Santa Clause as their #1. Not me. For me, THE Christmas film - one that I think is the Holy Grail of Christmas - is the classic 1985 film starring David Huddleston as the title role, Dudley Moore as Patch the Elf, & John Lithgow as the evil business man, BZ. I totally love the origin story from the fist half of the film, telling the origin of Claus & his wife, Anya, as they are brought to the North Pole and introduced to the elves and the workshop, and become immortal legends. I LOVE the look and design of the North Pole Cabin "Mansion," as it is something I would picture being real if Santa and The North Pole were IRL. Also, the second story about Patch & BZ, with the kids Joe & Cornelia in supporting roles, makes the film a joy to watch:

Perhaps now the surviving families of the victims can finally rest easy knowing he's gone for good.
Good riddance, asshole!
