I work full-time for an open-intake animal shelter.
We lost a kitten in adoption the morning.
I carried her in my arms to the euthanasia room.
She had probably passed not an hour or two ago.

It tore me up inside.
I deal with euthanasia every day.
I see it happen. It doesn't hurt this bad.

I've never lost a healthy adoptable kitten.
