So yeah, I mentioned in the Nicole titty pic that I should draw more but had no ideas. So I'll take a vote - which character should I draw next? It doesn't even have to be my own. I'll draw whatever wins after a couple days, probably naked, because I am short on ideas.

I'm still here, I've just pretty much retired from drawing due to vision problems and a general lack of motivation. I did have some surgery (one of many) late last year that was helping, but the whole epidemic thing has put a big damper on recovery and follow-up. There's a shortage of some of the medicine I've been getting (an injection, yep, right into the eye, enjoy that image) so it's recovering, but slowly. Anyway since I'm stuck at home anyway I might try drawing something, so who should I draw? Probably naked of course. Make this an informal poll or something.

So a random post that today's my birthday, and 's birthday too so go tell her happy barfday too. Mainly posting this up because that last journal was like a year and half old, I been real active I tell ya!

As I've mentioned before there have been several reasons why I've more or less quit drawing. Some of this was a simple lack of motivation and ideas, nothing really excited me enough to pick up a pencil. But another (and related) problem, one I haven't generally discussed, was my declining health. I have had vision problems for a long time, worn glasses since I was seven or so, and over the past couple of years my vision has been worsening. It made it hard to see what I was doing and if you look back at my relatively recent work you can see a point where I was no longer able to see well enough to ink my work and had to use Photoshop's pen tool to get it done. As this takes approximately forever it resulted in me finishing something every couple of months at best, most of which hasn't actually been posted here since it's all fantasy RPG related stuff and nothing anthro-related.

Last Tuesday I went in for surgery to try to repair the damage so I could see clearly again, and initially it seemed to work perfectly. When I went in for a checkup the day after the surgery I was able to see better than should have been humanly possible, I could read further down the eye chart than they had ever seen anyone able to do while most people couldn't even read the top line. But now there have been complications and I might lose my vision in that eye completely, leaving me with one barely-functional eye. I was going to have surgery on that one as well, but at this point, it's no longer an option, I can't risk losing both of them in an effort to improve the one I may end up left with. I will be going in for another surgery, maybe today, in the hopes that this complication can be corrected. If so, great, I may be able to get back to work. But if not, well, I guess that's that.

I only mentioned this to a few people since I know that nobody wants to hear me talk about my problems, there's always way too much of that going around as it is. But I figured all those people who have followed my work the last few years deserve to know. I've had fun drawing stupid and sexy things, and hope I'll be able to do so in the future, but at any rate thanks for coming along for the ride and enjoying my dumb crap. I've enjoyed working on it and enjoyed the company, if you don't hear from me again, thanks for being there. So... Merry Christmas I guess, and all that. Here's hoping.

So it's my birthday today, which doesn't make me very special as it's also , , and apparently 's barfdays too. But this just means we are extra awesome, right? I cheerfully accept boobies as gifts!

It's no secret that my contributions around here have slowed to a crawl over the past year or so, ground to a halt really. While I could blame this on a lack of time due to school and work the truth is that the amount of free time I've had hasn't changed, it's just that I've felt less and less like spending it on drawing anything. There are so many things I would like to do, and wish I could do, but when I stare at a page, nothing happens. And rarely do I even feel like bothering with that much.

This isn't art block, this isn't burnout. I know what those are, I've gone through those plenty of times in the past. This is me looking around and seeing people moving on, being successful, advancing their life, making new friends, while I just sit here in the same spot, wasting my time and life. It's time to move on, I honestly have zero desire to draw anything anymore. There's nothing to inspire me, and nothing to make me want to do anything artistic. A brief rekindling of that interest was snuffed out in a heartbeat, and now, I just feel like it's something I need to leave behind. In the past drawing was something I did for fun, something I enjoyed, and something that I did to be part of a group. Now it feels like more of a chore and I dread picking up a pencil because it's just something else to make me feel useless and depressed, which is the last thing I need.

Maybe someday things will get better and change but I honestly could care less if they don't. I need new hobbies and new interests and just a general change in life. I'm not going to delete anything but I don't foresee me posting anything new either. So thanks for coming along for the ride, I wish things could have ended better, but I'm not going to go into that. I appreciate people hanging around and looking at my stupid crap for this long but frankly it's just time I moved on and found something else to do with my life. So take care and enjoy what other people around here are doing, it's all better than mine and there's plenty enough that I won't be missed.

OK so I've been very inactive and hardly drawing anything at all. And while I could go through the long list of craptastic reasons why, fuck that, I'm just going to try to get back in the swing of things now that things aren't quite so craptastic. So I'm taking requests of my own characters, because I at least need to re-start with what's familiar, doing... whatever. The first five that I think are cool or at least not lame I will try to draw up over the next couple days.

This first wave will be the colored, shaded designs I did a while back that I didn't turn into actual characters, though when I looked, I did that for about half of them, go fig. OK so the hell semester that has kept me busy and relatively non-productive around here has ended, so I now have about a month off until the next one starts, during which I'll just have one class. Several months ago I tore up my shoulder doing yard work of all things. Hurt for a few days and then degraded to just hurting when I did certain motions with it but it's been lingering for a while now and lately getting worse. While I was in school I wasn't able to do anything about it but with school out I went and had it looked at. Got a mo-hunking cortizone shot in it and then started in on physical therapy for it which I'm doing now. Long and short of it the short term cure is worse than the problem and my shoulder's always sore and achy now though it is helping, I can already move it better than I could before. And since it's my drawing arm, I can't really do much with it in that regard, it starts acting up after about five minutes. So, I won't be doing anything with it for a bit. I have some old things I drew a while ago that need coloring though, so I'll try to keep up with that.

Well classes for the semester are done with, so I'm now free for the summer, at least for now. I have a number of neglected projects I hope to get to now that I have free time again, may have a few unfinished pics pop up in the next day or two and a story before long.

Also, as promised, I will be doing three, uno dos, tres, three character pics for people participating in the PCA SECT thingie (this thing here) who don't have illustrations of the character they're submitting and need one. This isn't a free request for just anyone, this is for people who have no visual reference for their character, have no ability to produce one themselves, and will be sending something written in to the project.

These will be fairly basic, lineart and some flat colors, but enough to get the job done. I won't start on them immediately but they will be done by the deadline. The first three people to leave a comment here wanting one (don't send notes, comment) will get them. When I need the specs, I'll let you know. Happy SECTing!
