Well! I've been a regular drop in panelist and news producer for Echoplex Media, and it's been terrific. I know a few dozen of the people in the Northern California music scene, mostly San Jose and Santa Cruz... and it's making me study harder and learn about making and recording music.

I made a spam can electric guitar. I'll probably make more wacky instruments.

I had to ask the questions in enough places and someone had a suggestion to reinastall in a different Steam library. Back in business. But I deleted my profile in the course of trying to solve it so I have to grind all my songs again to unlock all the notes.

Fell off the bike. Locked up the wheel in a sudden stop and slid to a safe but minorly painful ending. Thanks to Levis 501 jeans, Fieldsheer jacket, Sidi boots, Shoei helmet, Otterbox phone case, and MSF training, I'm ok, and I'm going to Kaiser to have the knee looked at. I walked up stairs to post this so I am better than I would have expected for my first accident on the bike.

I had an infuriating little conversation over e-mail with someone else in the area.
He said that he just didn't have any luck with dating sites and couldn't seem to meet people.
He posted a dozen links to FA which were all RL photos.
He said that okcupid was crap, and pounced was crap, and everything was just going wrong
He asked the mailing list "Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone have suggestions?"

We gave him several:
* Trim and style his ponytail
* The beard makes him look Amish
* If he's going to pose with katanas and pistols, for god's sake, handle them with respect
* "Wife beater" tanktop and camo shorts do not a fashion statement make
* Find new hobbies, to meet people and make himself stand out as someone unique

Well, instead of replying to the emails, he started a new topic, where he proclaimed:

* he just needs to go out and find new places to meet new people, that's 100% of his problem
* the only reason he doesn't talk to people because he's worried they're not single
** (implying the only reason to talk to new people is to find a mate)
* he would rather turn down employment than cut his hair
* those weren't recent photos and maybe now his chinbeard is ok because it's longer
* he was wearing a costume, don't judge his fashion sense by those pics
* it's no fair, that was a cheap katana, he doesn't have to hold it right
* it's no fair, that was an airsoft gun, he doesn't have to hold it right

I'm no psychic, but I predict he's not going to get very far in his quest for self-improvement.
