T-cock references
Posted 3 years agoI found a great reference for drawing T-cocks and associated transguy bits, and felt it was important to share.

Seeking character commission - cute robot
Posted 11 years agoI just took over a local computer centre (I mean, I didn't storm the gates with a Viking horde and plant a flag in the corpse of its previous owner - I just got hired to run the place) and I'm doing a rebranding. The place is called SparkIT, and I'm looking to create a mascot for it - Sparky the Robot - to put on branding materials and "Sparky Says" informational signs. I'm looking for something cute, fun, and welcoming.
We do a lot of work with people who are scared of computers, so it needs to be a happy, approachable thing. Something more along the lines of Wall-E than Eve. I'm thinking along the lines of a DIY/Steampunk aesthetic, but I'm open to suggestions and I'd love to see sketches. Anybody up for the challenge? Or can anyone point me to someone who does cute robots?

A list of suggestions for cohabitational relationships
Posted 12 years agoDon't judge your partner's bathroom or kitchen routines, and don't be too defensive about your own.
Agree a level a household cleanliness that compromises between your definitions of "clean enough". If you're too far apart for compromise to be possible, get separate rooms. If you're the neatfreak of the relationship, take responsibility for cleaning the common areas; if you're not, do an equal number of hours per week of other chores, like cooking, shopping, or maintenance and garden work.
Communicate.
No, really communicate.
Look, nobody believes you when you say "Nothing's wrong" so just fucking talk, ok?
There, don't you feel better?
Decide whose job it is to make the coffee in the morning.
If you mess up, apologize. If you're offered a sincere apology, accept it and move on. The severity of the "mess up" in question can sometimes affect the meaning of "move on", in which case refer to point 3.
Things irrelevant to the discussion/fight at hand do not belong there. If you're fighting, that means that something's gone wrong. Fix that. Fights are not a chance to hurt your partner, they are a chance to fix what's wrong.
When a fight is over, it's over.
Sometimes it's ok to go to bed angry. You might see things more clearly after eight hours of sleep. You most certainly will not if you spent the last eight hours seething in sleep deprivation.
Keep separate alarm clocks.
If it works for you guys, go with it. To hell with what other people think - they're not in this with you.
Show that you care as often as humanly possible. A simple "I love you" text on your lunch break can brighten someone's day in startling ways.
Don't let yourself feel inadequate by other people's representations of their relationship bliss. You filter yourself in public and on social media, and so do they.
Do stuff you love together.
Do stuff you love by yourself.
Get an object of mutual affection. It can be a kid, a dog, a plant, or a fabulous piece of statuary, whatever. Care for it together.
Find your partner's weak spots and do things to help them cope with them.
Allow your partner to see your weak spots.
Remember that out of the seven billion possible people in the world, you've chosen to spend your time with this one. There's a reason for that. Cherish it.

Some good news
Posted 13 years agoSo, getting the bad news off my main page and moving on to better things :)
For those that don't know, for the last two years I've been involved in the founding of a new charity, Psychological Assistance Dogs UK. We are now an official candidate for accreditation by Assistance Dogs Europe, the European branch of Assistance Dogs International. This is huge news, as it is the first step towards this type of dog being officially available to people in the UK. A massive amount of work went in to this achievement, and I am just so chuffed about it.

Are there any spinners in the fandom?
Posted 13 years agoAnybody here good at spinning wool into yarn? I know how, but I suck at it - just wondering if anyone out there might be interested in spinning some of paxil's fur into yarn. It won't felt for shit (believe me, I've tried), but I'm sure it will spin.
And now for something less sad
Posted 13 years agoI'd like to thank everyone for their kind words after my recent post about Paxil. As a reward, have some animal puns: http://imgur.com/AlHsp

Posted 13 years agoThe following post deals with sickness, death, and other sad and potentially triggering subjects. I would like you to read it anyway, but I wanted to give fair warning to those that may not be in an appropriate state of mind to simply glance across it in their browsing.

Paxil has been diagnosed with cancer. Two weeks ago a 2-inch mass appeared suddenly on her tongue. It was biopsied, and discovered to be a malignant melanoma running all the way through the muscle. It is an aggressive and treatment-resistant form of the disease, and had probably formed deep in the tissue before coming to the surface. Her prognosis is essentially the same with treatment or without, and so I’ve decided to spare her the side effects of chemo or waste her precious remaining time making her recover from surgery. We don’t know exactly how long she has, but it is most likely a time span expressible in months.
As many of you know, Paxil and I have been together for over 13 years. She was my service dog for the majority of those years. You may have met her at Anthrocon or Furfright. Without her, I don’t know where I would be. I certainly wouldn’t have a university degree, and there’s a good chance that I wouldn’t be alive at all. She is my partner, my angel.
In the coming days we can treat the infections that come with the cancer, and give her pain relief when she needs it. Right now, she is eating, drinking, wagging, and enjoying her daily walks. When that stops being true, I will have to make the decision to let her go. I don’t expect that I will deal with this very well. I’m not dealing with it well now.
I know some of those reading this love her as well, and I wanted to make this post so that you can grieve in your own ways. I am also posting to let you know that I may not be at my best over the coming weeks and months. Thank you for understanding.
And if the phrase “it's just a dog” exists in your vocabulary, I’d like to ask you to kindly go fuck yourself.

Rule 34, subsection 2012 OR why isn't there Olympics porn?
Posted 13 years agoIf you thought the 2012 logo was incomprehensible, just wait until you see the mascots: https://mascot-games.london2012.com/
They are freakish and unusual - so why isn't there more porn of them? Hell, there's barely any porn of "Pride the Lionhearted" http://www.sportsfeatures.com/olymp.....team-gb-mascot, and he's a buff lion. The internet is seriously shirking its responsibilities here.

Pirate Versus Ninja kitties need a forever home
Posted 13 years agohttp://tamnonlinear.livejournal.com/849614.html
ATTENTION, those of you in the Germantown, MD area – or within a day’s drive!
Red and Scuse, two very close brothers, need a home!
They were abandoned by their owners and then attacked by dogs; Red had irreparable damage to one of his eyes, which had to be removed. Their rescuer reports that they are very very friendly and easy to love, sweet, lovable, affectionate lapcats. They need a forever home where they can be together without any other pets.
And on a personal note, these guys totally need fanart! Draw their piratey-ness and ninja-ness and spread the world. Lets get these adorable guys adopted.
