General | Posted 16 years agoHaven't heard back from the job I applied for. I suppose we all know what that means. :| I'm calling tommorow to check on it, granted I am able to.
Friday and Saturday my neighbor and I are having a garage sale. For them I am assuming it's going to be one of many, but for myself, I do believe it's the last one I'm having this year. Whatever doesn't sale gets sent off to the Salvation Army.
The only thing I'm not looking forward is having to do this on my own. :[ Errol of course will be working Friday, but he has overtime on Saturday. Good for us, but bleh for me. I suppose the GOOD thing is, I can take this time to catch up on my ready and hopefully finish "A Dirty Job". >.>;;;
I was thinking about working on commissions, but I don't know how well people would react to half naked Naga people. Hehehe. xD;;;

Sonic the Hedgehog. But I've always like anthromorphic animals.

I enjoy art and despite the weirdos you run into in this fandom, you find lots of awesome people. Sometimes you even find a lifemate. ;)

My husband after not shaving for a week! Man, his whiskers could cut glass!
*If someone found out you're a furry and asked you about it how would you respond?
I enjoy drawing anthromorphic animals, and no. I do have sex in a fursuit. Nor do I look at my cats in THAT way. :(

Some of the art and characters that come out of it.

Not really. I'll use the term "yiff" for fun, but my hands are hands. Not paws. :P

Most of the people who come on TV to "talk about" the furry fandom. I find these people don't know wtfux they are talking about to begin with. I wish it wasn't associated with zoophiles, pedos, or folks who have sex in their fursuits. The extremists in any fandom is generally what gives it a bad name overall.
*How strongly do you feel about someone bashing the community as a whole?
I guess I'm not "furry enough" to have it bother me. I mean, if there were a group of people who assumed because I drew furry characters that I was the type who also enjoyed diddling my cat, I'd be tempted to punch them in the face. I love my cat so much I would -never- think of -ever- doing something so dreadful to her.
*How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
Eh. Being an anime fan, I'm used to it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how biased or stupid it may be.
*We all know furries have alot of sexual aspects in this fandom, What's your opinion on it?
What you do behind closed doors is your business. But, if you're going to go out and public admit to enjoy jerking to photos of real-life animals or go on about how you enjoy soiling yourself in your adult diapers, don't get pissy if you get a negative backlash.

I don't know of any "Furry" meetups in my area.

No, and sure. Just because I don't consider myself a furry doesn't mean I wouldn't hang out with those that do.

The furry fandom (for the most part) is pretty accepting when it comes to out-there fetishes, which makes sharing them not to intimidating. I used to think that I knew all there was to sexual fetishes until I dove further into the kinky side of the furry fandom. Man. I'm still finding out newer ones by the day.
Non-sexual stuff aside, I have met a lot of wonderful and kind people who I am proud to call friend. The furry fandom (if you will) also gave me my husband whom I love and cherish dearly.

General | Posted 16 years agoThe company my husband was hired for is going to be doing inventory and everyone that isn't already working for the company is going to be let go for the week. Which means money is going to be severely lacking next week.
If I did $10 sketches, would anyone be interested in purchasing to help us out? I won't be taking them until after I've finished
mousran 's pieces (which will be started and hopefully finished this weekend! ), but afterward I would be willing to take commissions for them.

General | Posted 16 years agoThings have vasty improved in the Catcubus household since I last posted. My hubby finally landed himself a machinist position and has been working a buttload of overtime. I only hope that he manages to keep this job since he was hired by a temp agency. c.c If he could, it would be very beneficial! Especially since he is getting CNC training.
Alas, I haven't landed myself work yet, but I'm still trying! In the meantime, I'm still doing commissions. :) The prices are the same from when I last posted and no matter the size of my waiting list, I'm always open for more.
At least now with one of us working, there is no longer an unyielding fear of "How will we pay our bills, or eat?!" on our mind. :S

Boobs. I mean, females.

Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?

What do you have problems in drawing?
Backgrounds. =_= I hate drawing them.

Yeah. Someone teach me how to do this. :x

Depending on if it's a sketch, inked piece, or colored piece. And how distracted I am while working on it.

I like listening to New Age or Smooth Jazz. Peaceful + calm music helps me draw easier.
How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Depends if it's for me or someone else. If it's for me, I've already thought it out, if it's for someone else, anywhere from an hour, to a day or even a week.

The vast majority of my art is anime-influenced, but I'd really like to branch out and draw more "traditional American"-styled art.
Are you satisfied with your current art?
Nope. I want to color more than anything.
What kind of artist are you aiming for?
One that doesn't let self-loathing (when it comes to art) issues prevent them FROM drawing. Everything else will fall into place once I remove that problem.

Right.
Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Boobs. I mean, females.
Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Long.
Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Left. Right is harder.
Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Side view.
What do you have problems in drawing?
Backgrounds. =_= I hate drawing them.
What do you like to draw?
Boobs, boobs, and women.
Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
Traditional. :S
Where do you start drawing from?
The head.
What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
Not spending enough time on inking.
Any tips for coloring/shading?
Yeah. Someone teach me how to do this. :x
How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
Depending on if it's a sketch, inked piece, or colored piece. And how distracted I am while working on it.
What music do you listen to while you draw?
I like listening to New Age or Smooth Jazz. Peaceful + calm music helps me draw easier.
How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Depends if it's for me or someone else. If it's for me, I've already thought it out, if it's for someone else, anywhere from an hour, to a day or even a week.

My microns.

Purple or blue.

Take an economy in which finding decent paying jobs is difficult (at best) and add in a state on the verge of bankruptcy (or at least that's what the media is saying these days) and you have tough times for a married pair trying to make ends meet after moving from one home to another.
The comfy little cushion of money that my husband and I had to live off of is pretty much flattened. The both of us have desperately been trying to seek employment left and right with neither one of us succeeding. We're still trying but in the meantime, whereas I cannot find employment outside the house, I can offer my artistic services in the form of commissions.
The money gained from any and all commissions will be going directly towards helping both my husband and I stay afloat. The majority of it will be going towards food and/or gas. I can assure each and every one reading this that this isn't some sort of secret ploy to gain money so the both of us can go out and spend it on something frivolous. Being able to purchase a new DvD might be fun, but you can't eat it, right?
At this time I'm offering sketches and inked drawings for an affordable price. The prices follow:
Clean
$10 – Sketch
$15 – Inked
Adult
$15 – Sketch
$20 – Inked
No coloring as I would like the turnover rate for commissions to be as fast as I receive them. That and my coloring is very, very bad. :[
If you feel my prices are outrageously over-priced or you would like to work out some sort of deal, please feel free to note or email me!

I do not accept donations as I loathe the idea of being in debt to someone and while the idea of a donation is anything but, the amount of guilt I feel with being given money makes in impossible to receive any. However, if you wish to add a “tip” to the full amount owed for a commission, I will accept any and all extra money that way. Otherwise, I cannot accept donations, no matter how generous and giving the idea may be. :]
A special note: Please do not add any “Sorry, but I can't help you out.”-type comments. I'm not trying to be snooty or anything, so please don't take offense! If you would really like to help out, but can't, please link this entry in your journal. ;] You may not be able to help, but someone else might be able to!

General | Posted 16 years agoI'm really f'ing proud that my hubby has been working on his writing lately. He's finished another chapter to his Der-ra-jin series and it's turning out pretty darn good. I'm showing off his account in hopes that others who enjoy stories might enjoy his works and thus with the extra attention, he might be inspired to write more and more often!
I've always had this awesome idea of the two of us being an awesome artistic duo, where he writes the stories or scripts and I draw pictures to them or turn the possible scripts into comics. I think he just needs a little encouragement. ;)

Whoring out characters for money...!
General | Posted 16 years agoBeen thinking about it lately, especially with the reality that the hubby and I have been having crap-luck finding work lately. Ages ago I created a character specifically for whoring out purposes via commissioned artworks. I retired her as my ex was pretty peeved at the idea, but each time I offered her up for commissions, the auctions always sold (and pretty fast too!). I'm not considering bringing her out of retirement, but offering one or two of my characters for such purposes.
My question to you, the reader is, what are your opinions on this? I would be offering the auction as inked (no color), so the price would be around $20-25. I haven't decided on which characters are up for grabs, but it might be either my old Drowcubus character, Karrera, or maybe my old Puss and Boots characters. Still undecided. ~.~
Gonna be thinking about it more seriously as money is starting to get really tight. ._.
Thoughts? Opinions? Let me know about 'em!

General | Posted 16 years agoA situation where it's too hot to do anything! Storage was emptied out at long last today and so my art desk is back in my room. Now all I need to do is hope for a time where my office doesn't feel horrid to sit in.

Oh gawd. So much unpacking and there is STILL tons more than needs to be done. The plans were much easier back when we thought that most of our stuff was going to be chucked right into storage, but now with my father's place becoming our own, there is so much sorting through that needs to be done.
The kitchen and bathroom are, for the most part, finished. Now it's the bedroom and office that needs to be unpacked. D:
And have I mentioned how much my ankles and feet ache? T-T
Again. I'm never moving ever again, if I can help it!
Still alive, though buried under boxes and much unpacking.
