I Think I Can Relax Now
Posted 7 years agoI'm now retired and, hopefully, my medical situations are now a thing of the past. I've had two rounds of cancer in the last four years, one prostate and one a parotid (sp?) gland under my left jaw. The first was found by carefully having my PSA checked every year (guys, it really pays, they caught mine before it spread and I've not needed any further therapy, chemical nor radiation). The other one was found when I went to the periodontist concerning an infected tooth that needed extracting; again, it appears to have been caught before it could spread.
On the family side, we've had a couple cats die and a couple more come into our lives, so we have as many as ever. Quite loving, too, excellent bed warmers in winter but rather warm in summer.
In any case, I'm back now and hope to be more active here in the future.

Blerg--And FUrther Apologies
Posted 12 years agoI thought things would slow down once I got on this new program at work. Well, between "carry-over" and...stuff...cropping up in my personal life, time to sit down and take care of what I owe has been woefully lacking (got barely enough time to post this, this AM). I will get payments and information out, it's just taking an excruciating amount of time. If anyone's noticing, I've not had time at all to get on FA at all.
Cateagle, out.

Yet Again Apologies
Posted 12 years agoTo those I owe money and/or information to. This week's becoming even worse than last week as I put in long hours at work, where FA is blocked, It's a matter of wrapping up one important project before moving to another and I'm working crazy hours, generally getting home for dinner and then to bed. Arter this weekend, things should slow down, the new project's just starting up, and I should be able to take care of things since I'll only be working eight-hour days.
Further Apologies..
Posted 12 years agoWhat can I say, it's been one of those weeks. Between a schedule at work that could easily be described as "aggressively sporting" and some family needs that kept me out late, I've not had time to do much of anything this week. The best I can promise everyone I owe money and/or info is late Saturday or sometime Sunday because I will be going into work tomorrow to meet that schedule (gotta wrap up this special job for Pax River because I'm moving to a new effort that's got very high visibility and support from the USMC and AFSOC).
Cateagle, out!
Cateagle, out!
Bleergh! And further apologies
Posted 12 years agoIt seems that the hectic Friday and Saturday took their toll, I've been sick Sunday and today (heck of a way to spend a holiday!) and haven't been doing much but sleeping and resting. To those I owe money and/or information too, I'll get it to you as soon as I can. On what I can foresee of my schedule, that will likely be Wednesday night. I apologize for the delay.

Apologies...
Posted 12 years agoTo those I owe money and/or information to. This past Friday and today have been hectic caps to a hectic week (for example, I left home at 7:10 AM Friday morning and didn't return until after midnight) and I"m a bit burnt out. I will take care of everything tomorrow once I'm rested and able to think clearly and carefully.
Again, my apologies for lateness.

Well, now I know...
Posted 12 years agoWhy that kitten was brought into our lives. Our oldest cat, Diana, passed away in her owner's arms tonight. She was 20 and old age finally caught up with her. We take comfort in that it appeared to be painless and it was quick, her body only failing throughout the last day or so. She was dearly loved and will be missed.
Oh, and BTW, the kitten has been named "July", yeah, we got him at the end of June, but June seemed to be a female name and he's definitely male.

New Family Member - Feline that is
Posted 12 years agoWhat do you do? I took some trash out to the dumpster the other night and this kitten climbs out and comes right up to me, quite willing to be picked up and petted? Well, he was obviously feral and so cute, I just had to take him in. He's now got his shots - the vet says he's only 'bout four months old - and he's adjusting to life in an apartment. He's also having to adsjust to life with the other cats here, but I'm certain they all work things out. His lines remind me of an ocicat but his markings are tabby stripes running lengthwise more than anything else. Since we found him near the end of the month and next month's name works for a male, he's now called "July". This isn't the first stray to have come up to me/us. As a friend put it, "Bast knows her own."
