Major Brain Scatter 0__x
Posted 16 years agoJust like me to neglect this account for months Xp
Lately I've been having one thing after the other, trying to get my PhD project done (3rd time I had to change the subject), desperately trying to look for a job, trying to find time to work on my commissions, preparing my webpage...... I'm amazed I even have time to sleep!!!
If you want to follow my works you'll have more luck if you keep an eye on my DA accounts, but I'll try to drop by more often, even if just to post a study for my artbook project ^ ^;;
Still taking commissions (no requests or trades though). I need all the help I can get to keep myself fed T T

OPEN for Commissions
Posted 16 years agoOne of the reasons I haven't been very active in terms of art is because I've been trying to look for a job. Been sending job applications for several months now and I've FINALLY got a positive reply a couple of weeks ago
It's only a summer camp job and not much in terms of money because it's only for 5 weeks, but I have hopes this will open new door and help me establishing new contacts
Not so good news, although they pay for food and lodging, I'm the one who has to pay for travel expenses (I live in Portugal, Europe). Also I have to go around and get a work visa, which means extra expenses and loads of paperwork Xp
Which brings me to the next piece of news, I'll be taking commissions in order to raise enough money to pay for the trip
Last time I tried to set up a pricing system there was lots of people who had trouble figuring out the calculations, so I've made a Price Calculator http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2091320/
Because I have to work on my PhD project I can only open a few slots at a time, but as soon as I complete a batch they'll re-open again, so keep your eyes open if you're interested
To order just send me a PM and we'll discuss the idea and prices in more detail. Also I take other types of work other than those presented in the Calculator, so don't hesitate to ask

My Art Book Project
Posted 17 years agoI want to talk about a Art Book Project that I had in mind for quite some time, but haven't had the chance to really work on it until now (because I finally delivered the damned Master thesis to the supervisors for printing approval)
It started with this project a friend of mine showed me http://projectkilimanjaro.blogspot.com/ I have intentions to participate in this, but also it reminded me of my own project that had been stored in a corner of my mind's attic ^^;
The project is called Comparative Anatomy: a guide to Anthropomorphic Drawing
One of the things I've noticed over the years is the amount of misinformation when it comes to anthropomorphic body structures and the lack of proper resources to correct that situation. Some examples of what I mean: a dog's heel being considered as its knee or a werewolf with 4 leg joints instead of just 3
What I intend to do is to write a book that visually explains the similarities and differences between several body structures and how can those be combined into proper anthropomorphic creatures. Also I intend to cover other important topics, like the different type of anthros within the same base species, types of locomotion (plantigrade, digitigrade, unguligrade...), common ancestors and how each species differentiated, etc
This book doesn't aim to be a how to draw step-by-step book, but an informative and well illustrated compilation of information that can be easy to understand by everyone
What I'm asking here is opinions and suggestions on what you think that should be mentioned and what topics are most relevant
Also I want to ask opinions about how to publish this. I live in Portugal (Europe) and sadly the market for this type of content isn't very high, so my aim is to release the book where it has a higher chance to reach the people truly interested in this topic. Problem is I have little to no knowledge on how to publish an art book or what type of publishing companies deal with this type of books best
I've posted this in the Forums as well, along with a with a general idea of the different topics the book would cover. Please let me know your opinions about this project. Any suggestions are more than welcome ^^
