Today I hit the big five-O
still rocking all original parts (though they got some wear on 'em),
had a few people accuse my of lying about how old I actually am today, so I must not be doing too badly.

Happy Birthday to my old ass, turned 49 this time around. Feeling it now too.

It's the 10th of September, birthday time again Survived another year round the Sun. Just getting older with more ailments piled on. Don't know wtf I want to do today.

My father is now at peace. After 21 years apart he's back with my mother.
Mom loved Atomic Fireball candy, there was always some in the cookie jar in the kitchen.
Dad enjoyed a good whisky and we always had shots with him whenever we visited.

So me and the sister decided a couple of shots of Fireball whisky was an appropriate sendoff to both of them.

Another year around the sun, another year closer to death.
Only 47 though, may hang in there a while yet.

Thank you to all of you whether you draw, color, write, paint, music, animate, video, whatever. Thank you for sharing your creative works with us! It's been a shit-fest of a year for all of us, and your works have helped many of us get though this craptastic year! Given us something to look forward too and enjoy amongst all the misery.

I am thankful that I have a job that allows me to have time off for the actual holiday (fuck retail).
I'm pretty sure my family is thankful to actually have me able to come visit for the holidays too.

Posting some commissions I've been to lazy/busy to post for a few years now. Felt like I should get off my ass and update something.

For fuck sake! Both me and my roomie just got a temporarily laid off over this bullshit! Now we both have to try and find a job until this shit blows over, money just became noose-tight.

Another year survived, another birthday achieved.
I've already reached Grognard status as a gamer, (everything I play is two or three editions before the current version). Now got grey in the beard and 'stache and what hair I have left, do I qualify for Geezer status yet?

Curiosity, which side of your computers desktop do you keep your icons?
I notice that Windows slaps the icons automatically on the left side of screen, and yet almost every desktop wallpaper I see artists post have the main image/character on the left side, the same side where it's going to be covered up by all the icons! WTF? Am I the only one who leaves their icons left-centric or something? It's anoying having to mirror flip a wallpaper image everytime I find a good one I like.

This Saturday I turn the answer to life, the universe, everything.
Here's hoping that I can avoid the usual shit-storm and actually game on my birthday without getting kicked out of a game store for biased bullshit false reasons. (Fuck you Dragon's Lair!)

While discussing anime recently a friend of mine had a difficult time understanding what/why I absolutely loathed about Detective Conan. This neatly sums up what I had trouble putting into words the moment I saw the first episode.

So one day, the plot rests on him going to an amusement park with his best friend, Ran, which quickly becomes the worst day ever when two men in black (that look like they stepped out of the movie itself) decide to beat him up and shrink him into a child with a convenient plot device drug-*cough, magical drug with no cure*. What? Flat WHAT, like TV Tropes says?

Are..you….freaking….kidding me? What the hell WAS the creator thinking when he came up with this bullshit? This sounds like something some fourth-grader would come up with on some acid or speed, not a professional writer. What kind of author degrades themselves by writing something so retarded and expecting us to take it seriously? It just gets worse from there.

He has to hang out with an idiot who can’t solve mysteries, so he has to give him heroin doses-just kidding, tranquilizes him so he can take over and pwn the old man at his own game with his deduction skills and so this kid sits there talking into a bow tie and no one notices. WHAT? How can we expect to believe something that farfetched?

Second, the love interest notices nothing unusual about said kid, despite the fact that he looks like her childhood friend, talks like her childhood friend, has same interests, same birthday, and same effing knowledge in detective skills?
This….is just too much….even for anime, it’s just too stupid a plot to be taken seriously. Sure, Shinichi may be the most badass detective in fiction since Sherlock Holmes himself, but the contrived plot that makes us want to take it literally is the stupidest I have ever seen.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, every single case this kid takes, the fat drunkard moron with an IQ of 40 takes the credit like the dumbass he is and poor Shinichi has to live with this dumb a-hole telling him to shut up and hits him at every opportunity. Guess, what happens then? No one helps him with his abuse. So, yeah, this anime may be great, but its plot is seriously retarded and you should feel ashamed that a writer even dared to publish a plot this stupid."
