My lack of activity
Posted 14 years agoI've been getting several new watchers here lately, and I'm completely sure that this is the result of reflected fame from my mate
ixerin, because I haven't uploaded anything here in more than two years. The amount of watchers I've been getting makes me feel kind of bad about how little I upload: everyone who watches me in hope of seeing new art here is probably going to be disappointed. But the reality is that lately I've been devoting a lot more time to writing than to art, and when I produce new work that's either art or writing, it usually isn't furry.
So with that in mind, I think it's worthwhile to link to a few of the things I've recently written outside of FurAffinity, so that people who watch me here can get at least something that's worthwhile from it. It's kind of difficult to predict which of my non-furry work is going to be of interest to my watchers here, but here are a few examples that might be:
1: This article that I wrote for Wikipedia about William Beebe, a famous 20th-century naturalist and explorer who was a close friend of Teddy Roosevelt. Writing this article took me around a year when you include the amount of time it took to research it, which involved a lot of obscure out-of-print books from the 1970s. I'm pretty proud of the result, though.
2: This poem that combines dinosaurs with references to the Back to the Future series. Unlike the Beebe article, I wrote this poem in just a few hours.
3: This poem about courtship in hadrosaurs. I actually wrote this poem years ago, in 2003 I think, but just a month ago decided to update it slightly and put it in my DeviantArt account.
In general, I'm much more active at DeviantArt than I am at FurAffinity, so people who are interested in seeing my art or writing outside of the furry community would be better off following my account there. I'm also the co-admin (along with Ixerin) of Domain of Darwin, an evolution community at DeviantArt. She and I take turns writing journal entries about evolution topics once a month for that community, so that's another place to see both her and my writing.
I'm currently working on a sci-fi short story that expands on the concept of my poem "A Trip to the Past". That story won't be furry either, so I probably won't upload it here, but when it's finished I can post a journal entry linking to it if my watchers here want to read it.

Well, this is a surprise.
Posted 19 years agoI haven't been very active at FA during the past couple months, since I joined this site just because Ixerin is here and she hasn't been very active either. Yet somehow I've already got ten watchers! How did that happen?
I expect that most of you have been hoping to see more uploads from me, so I'm sorry to disappoint any of you about this. The reason I've uploaded so little here is because only about one-quarter of my art is furry, and I don't feel like uploading things at FA that don't fit the theme of this site. The main thing I've been drawing lately is a webcomic that makes fun of creationism, which can be found at http://www.captainoccam.com/ .
I'll be sure to upload any furry art of mine here whenever I draw it, though.

Im here.
Posted 19 years agoSince Ixerin is already a member here, I figured Id join also. But while Im at it, I might upload some of my own art here, since at least a couple of my pictures are of things that DeviantArt wont allow.
Most of my art will probably still be in my DA account, though: http://agahnim.deviantart.com/
