Decision Making
Posted 10 years agoOkay, okay, okay. Been a while. But not without justified reasons. Why have I been so inactive when the last journal update I made promised more content coming soon?
1. I was made of the FOOLISH MISTAKE of assuming that my college workload would be getting lighter.
2. I've been struggling to make up my mind with exactly what I want to /do/ on FA.
And I'm just going to get straight to the point from here.
There's some details about the whole IMVU deal with FA that are going right over my head, and due to this there's going to be a change in how I go about things.
I'd like state that any further stories posted here will be content that I fully decide that I'm comfortable with limiting to FA /exclusively/. And as such, this also means that it will likely take longer for more content to uploaded as this will not be a decision I'll be making lightly.
HOWEVER.
I WILL keep my current and potential future followers updated on where they can find my more "multiplatform" works (such as potential serial fiction or actually published-by-a-publisher novel/novella-length projects) as such content comes along.
And as always, I will still be floating around on this site to shoot the breeze with artists and other writers.
I'm sincerely sorry that it has taken this long for me to make up my mind, but I'm fairly certain that there shouldn't be any more..."snafus". Hopefully, THIS time it will be full steam ahead.

Where has the Cecil Bird been?
Posted 10 years agoWell, it's certainly been quite a while since I've been on the ol' FurAffinity. It's been a month since my last journal update and a few weeks since I've uploaded anything, after all
SO. Where has the Cecil Bird been?
WELL. I'll tell you: I've been trapped in the daily grind of college and other factors of life! ^v^; It's been a long, terrible struggle to maintain how I manage the precious resource of time available to me week after week after week. xvx
However, AT LONG LAST, things have taken a positive turn. I finally have times to squeeze more writing back into my schedule and inspiration has never been more plentiful! ^v^
At long last, my creative endeavors should be getting back on track and you, dear party animal folk, will be seeing a lot more from me very soon!

Random Writer Reflection + Update
Posted 10 years agoThe general responses and critique I've received on a few of the pieces of short, short, short fiction I've posted around the internet have been fairly encouraging and constructive, but at the same time some portions of the critique made me realize that while my stories DO have their positive aspects...I'm just not there as a writer yet.
initially, as a significant amount of my writer associates will attest, this revelation sent me into an emotional downward spiral of eating handful after handful of M&M's (and other sweets) and airing my dreary bird lamentations on the Furry Writers Guild chat room. >v>;
However, thankfully, I was comforted by and encouraged by my writer associates and had another realization.
An obvious realization, most certainly, but an epiphany that brought me out of my WRITER BIRD ANGST stupor.
Writing, like any creative craft/career choice, is not something one can excel at without countless moments of trial and error.
Practice makes perfect, as they say.
Furthermore, it's ALWAYS best to run pieces of fiction past neutral Beta Readers before posting it online or submitting it to a publication. ALWAYS keep that in mind, fellow amateur writers. No exceptions.
So, for the time being, my uploading of content will be somewhat delayed and irregular as I take the time to work on improving my writing privately and run my progress by select writer associates!
I'll still be active on Twitter and Tumblr when I can be, of course! Plus, I'll always find the time to favorite/leave comments on the work of the good artists of FurAffinity.

A Minor Update Regarding The Past Week
Posted 10 years agoSo, just to run through WRITER THINGS that have taken place in the past week that has certainly had its ups AND downs.
I finished up a Paintball-themed story that I sent off on the last day of the open submission call for Jaffa Books' (a small-press run by the marvelous
jaystoat) Sports anthology. I received a rejection a few days later and I accepted the fact that it definitely could have used more work.
However, I was NOT DETERRED. +v+
If anything, the rejection just sent me into a writing frenzy over the past view days and I certainly intended to post a portion of the stuff on here some time soon!
All in all, life has been good and somewhat productive! Cecil D. Fritz - KING OF BIRDS - is definitely in high spirits as of late!
I'll be a little more active here in the coming days.
Keep your eyes peeled, you fine animal folk! ^v^
