I look forward to the future
Posted 2 years agoHey you old farts, I hope you're well. Just wanted to provide some closure in the event of FA banning me regarding their new policy bs
Any step FA takes towards metaphorically ending its self is a step towards progress as far as art hosting/viewing goes. This site is dated and run by idiots and there is a massive split amongst art posters and viewers throughout niche sites and twitter.
Who knows, perhaps this will spark some interest in a better alternative, or something new will be made in its place. I look forward to the potential latter.
I've thought about deleting my FA entirely several times but I have always kept it because it's fun to see how I have improved since I left for other pastures, but alas, I have no interest in manually editing my gallery to comply with whatever bullshit they're trying to push through, so I just deleted everything
To all of you reading, it was a pleasure starting my art hobby with you all. I hope you enjoyed my works posted, and feel free to reach out on other platforms if you know where to find me!

Might nuke my FA soon!
Posted 4 years agoHay friends (or anyone who still follows me or reads journals >w>)
I haven't really used FA in a hot minute. My inbox of new submissions im never going to check is getting bigger and bigger, and honestly, I feel lost on my own page. Some older art of mine has either emotional ties id like to forget, or just makes me unhappy to look at due to my lack of skill at the time, or content i dont care for anymore uwu.
I have been thinking about just making a new account on here and just refollowing the few dozen artists I actually like out of the hundreds I watched throughout the years.
I am however lazy, and none of this might happen, but if you care to, save any pieces out of my gallery you may want to keep for whatever reason.
If anyone cares, I mostly upload on inkbunny these days. Feel free to DM me for a link.

10 year aniFURRsary uwu
Posted 4 years agoThough I don't really use FA anymore, I regard the creation of my FA page the official moment i became a furry. It's crazy to think about, but its been 10 years since then, which is basically a third of my life @w@;
Maybe I'l do some sort of art related thing to celebrate. Maybe not because im lazy uwu
Thanks for all of the fun/support/interactions this past decade. Younger me never would of thought that I would be a part of this fandom, but at this point I can't imagine not.
Hooray uwu
As I mentioned a while ago, I do most of my uploads on Inkbunny now, and if you wish for a link to it, DM me!

Regarding my FA inactivity
Posted 5 years agoHello FA people, it's been a minute. I'm sure lots of people (no one) are wondering where I have been, and the short answer is that I have basically moved to Inkbunny. I'm still reasonably active artwise, and I still upload, albeit other places.
The long answer is that FA is a super archaic and outdated site, and the ownership and dev team clearly have no intention of giving it the modern coat of polish it needs (its 2020 and there still isn't a @#%#ing name change feature ffs!).
Also, as I'm sure most of my diligent watchers have probably noticed (and hate me for it), my art direction has shifted away from pokemon, and more towards traditional anthro art. I also draw cub related content sometimes, and it's not so much out of an act of protest so much as "its easier to post on a site where I can post all of my content" type thing, which is why I chose Inkbunny. Inkbun also has a really nice and supportive community for the most part, much like the way FA used to be when I first joined, and it's super inspiring and motivating for someone like me, who struggles with to be inspired or motivated ;0
On the note of cub stuff, I'v also gotten warned by our gracious FA overlords before for posting links to my Inkbunny in the past. Apparently I'm not popular enough to be one of the cool kids who can post blatant cub art on FA and not get told shit (seriously FA, get your shit together you hypocrites), so if you wish to follow me there, send me a private message ♥
Also its weird, I feel like switching away from pokemon art gives me little reason to upload here, since I'm assuming most everyone initially watched me for that reason to begin with uwu
I'll probably get around to posting a good chunk of my work/gifts/commissions on here in the future, but I don't see myself being super active on FA again. I know a lot of people main Twitter these days, but Twitter doesn't have a gallery type feature, and you have to sift through everyones political garbage and pictures of their breakfast to find their art, so I'm not really interested in moving there. It's like everyones Twitter page is the front page of FA; you see one good picture, a bunch of awful shit, and a picture of a train for some reason.
Regardless, I'll be around, and anyone who cares enough to do so will manage to find my art! Take care for now, nerds.

Artists I commission be like
Posted 5 years agoI survived TFF 2020
Posted 5 years agoTwas a grand time of buying things, eating food, and little to no sleep. I'm happy I got to meet a lot of friends I didn't see last year!
I found the artist of https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6472426/ selling prints in the dealers den. This picture was one of the originals that initially got me into furry stuff way back in the day when I was like 17-18ish, and I froze when I saw that picture sitting on a panel.
If you haven't been to a furcon yet, you should try it, its preddy magical ;0

@ old Wildcritters users
Posted 6 years agoAs I'm sure you're all aware by now, Avabun/Paupe/Asda unfortunately passed away a day or so ago. He was a very kind person, and his life ended tragically early. An old acquaintance of mine, a fellow WC user, made a discord both in his honor, and as an attempt to do a sort of class-reunion for the old WC crew.
I don't know how well it will go, or what to expect, but if you're interested, send me a PM.
PSA for commission artists
Posted 6 years agoBefore I begin, I want everyone to understand that this is not directed at any one person. If you think this is directed at you, or that you may be someone I'm talking about in this journal, it's not you, please don't follow up with me regarding this. This is simply me advising/ranting a little bit about experiences recent and old.
To keep a long story short, I recently got a new job and commissioned a handful of artists with my newfound disposable income like the classy fellow I am.
Whenever I commission somebody I typically ask how long they think it will take to finish, not because I'm impatient or in a rush, rather, I get excited and like to have a rough idea of when to expect it. When I have sold art to people, I straight up tell them I am a very slow artist, just so they can be prepared to expect me to take a while.
A number of the people I commissioned quoted very fast turnaround times (a week or so), and its been well over a month to a couple months since I first paid them.
I very politely inquired with them if there were any issues, and that I wasn't rushing them by any means, and they politely responded that they were stressed and overworked and were trying their best and it would be done soon. Okay, understandable!
So, a few very polite inquiries yielding the same answer weeks later, and a bit of poking around later, I start to notice some patterns; people (artists) having trouble making ends meet and attempting to bring in as much art business as possible to fill the gap before it becomes more of a problem. At first glance, also understandable, but let me explain why this is a problem.
When you are struggling to pay bills, buy food, pay rent, etc, you are already probably under a lot of stress. I, as someone who has done commission work as a temporary source of income multiple times, can tell you that doing artwork for other people is also very very stressful. You're under pressure to not only do a good job by your standards, but also by your buyers standards, while trying to make reasonable deadlines for multiple people. TLDR: unless you are very practiced, speedy, disciplined, and not forced into doing it, living off of art commissions with average human expenses is next to impossible.
So not only are you stressing out over bills and life expenses, now you have the added stress of having to work on art you don't want to do, and the people buying your art now have their financial investment held emotionally hostage. This is unhealthy for you, frustrating for your clients, and ultimately hurts your business image in the long run.
If you are in a position where you are about to go under water financially, I promise, PROMISE you, unless you are the magical .01% of artists who can make an actual living through the stress, trials, and tribulations of being a freelance artist, there are better ways to fix your problem.
Go get a job.
"But I don't want to work for low pay and crap hours". Hey guess what, no one does, and what the fuck do you think most professional artwork is?! Do you think MilesDickheadDF just snapped his fingers and sold his first art commission for six thousand dollars? No! That person spent years building what they have, and I sincerely doubt they did it by starting 100% on art commissions alone. You are much better off starting off at some retail position, making a low, but semi liveable wage, while you get your shit together, instead of just riding a sinking ship downwards while stressing yourself out.
But I can't get a job due to issues™
Okay, so first off, you probably can, even if you think you can't. If you actually can't, living off of limited government income for the disabled or otherwise is better than the torture you are putting yourself through.
Regardless of either of those two points, while you're doing either of them, you can be working on your art business on the side if you truly want to.
There are literally hundreds of better options available to you than trying to pay off life expenses solely on sub-minimum-wage furry art income, I promise you.
Disregarding all of that, maybe you have a job, and maybe you just do art commissions for extra income, or hell, even fun, but, whatever the case may be, do not quote somebody a few days to a week, take someones money, and go months without updates, apologies, or even basic contact. That is shitty business practices at its finest, regardless if you are intending it this way or not.
I get it, you're stressed, you're dealing with some shit, and that is fucking fair, BUT, do not put your stressed self into an even more stressful situation while selling people a service you cannot provide, because that isn't fair to you, or the people supporting you.
/rant/
Once again, this is not directed at any one person. This spawned from the sheer amount of times this has happened to me and people I know both recently and in the past.
Don't PM me about this one, I'v spoke my peace on this and I don't care if you disagree. If you suspect you're one of the people I'm ranting about, I don't want an awkward confrontation or apology, I just want you to think about the situation and try to chart a better course for yourself for the future.
Have a good evening.

Back home from TFF, thoughts on my first furcon!
Posted 6 years agoSo, after spending two weeks in Texas, I was greeted by good old Michigan welcoming me with a blanket of snow in April. Its good to be home. I was going to post a journal earlier, but I was staying with friends and I wanted to wait until I got home to freshen up and do it!
Aside from a few cold days, and a few obviously-under-the-influence-of-something and charming public transportation weirdos, it was a wonderful trip!
Going to a furcon is something I didn't think I would ever do, partially being put off by the idea from being lightly involved in the community, the prospect of socializing on such a scale away from home being scary, and the thought of people judging me for being a part of it even scarier.
Iv always been afraid of judgment from others, and I have always worried about what people think of me. I grew up in an environment where everyone bullied and made fun of each other for their interests, so its only natural that most people established a sort of barrier socially as they were kids. Unfortunately, this barrier persisted well into my adult life. I have had confidence issues for as long as I can remember, and opening up on a personal level is something I really only did with online furry friends. I'v been getting better about it over time, slowly, but its still something I struggle with.
Using TFF as an excuse to go visit out of state friends Iv been wanting to see for years, me, and a few other friends all traveled to Texas to meet up with our group. The con its self was a lot better than I was expecting; everyone participating was so friendly and open. Iv never seen so many people just happy to exist in a place together. I dressed up in a silly little outfit that I'l probably end up posting later. It wasn't much, nothing like a fursuit, but it was nice to just be able to walk around, be myself, not have to worry about acting collected and professional, and just be a big dumb gay furry. Mingling and flirting with people in public has never been something I'v ever had a desire to do prior, but I found myself getting friendly with people, saying hi, the whole nine yards.
I learned a lot about things I thought I knew already. Talking to random furs, stuff like open relationships and gender neutrality make more sense to me. (Not that I was against either! It was just brought some clarity)
After its all said and done, I feel a lot more confident in myself, and my ability to socialize on a level past casual friendship. I'l be looking for cons to go to in the future, and I most certainly will be going back to TFF next year.
Thanks for reading if you bothered, I wanted to at least talk about it and this is the only place I really have to do it ^^

The fact that someone so involved in the community feels the need to do something like this is unacceptable, and the fandom as a whole should be ashamed of its self.
Not a single person in this fandom isn't weird, strange, different, or is free of liking something that could be considered detestable or gross by someone else in the fandom, and NOT A SINGLE PERSON IN THIS FANDOM has the right to pass judgement, or make assumptions about anyone else in it, and if you think yourself exempt to this, or that your preference of animal people fucking other animal people is somehow higher on a moral pedestal compared to others, you are straight up, a fucking moron.
To say that drawing / having interest in cub art makes you an actual real life pedophile is akin to saying that drawing / having interest in furry art makes you an actual real life dog fucker.
Guess what, there are actual pedophiles all over the world, and attacking furry artists isn't the way to stop them. There are people who fuck animals all over the world, has attacking furry artists stopped that? No, and it never will, because being a furry doesn't make you a dog rapist, and drawing cub art doesn't make you a fucking pedophile.
At what point do we forgo logic to go on a witch hunt because someone likes something that we don't?
At what point do we forget that this is artwork; drawn fantasy, that it is not real.
"ABLOO BLOO BLOO DRAWING SMALL CUTE CHARACTERS IS SUPPORTING CHILD ABUSE"
No. No it isn't. Anyone with the slightest shred of common sense knows the difference between a piece of paper, and a living creature. And anyone with a brain in their skull knows that witch-hunting something you don't like and lashing out at the nearest convenient target isn't the way to fix anything.
Ironically enough, most of the more mature and logical people I have met in the fandom have been in places where cub art is the predominant topic.
If you don't like something, that is completely 100% fine, you do not have to like that thing, infact you can hate it with every fiery fiber of your being, but, that does not make it okay, or give you the right to try to violently ostracize someone who hasn't done anything wrong, or something that anyone else in this fandom isn't guilty of in some way shape or form.
This is a community based around weird things, and if you feel it necessary to attack someone because their flavor of weird isn't okay with you, then you are straight up, an asshole. An asshole that needs a reality check.

Posted 10 years agoI have some life obligations I have been neglecting for a while, and I need to get back in gear.
Also been stressing a lot about stuff lately, which really hurts my art in the long run. It should never take me over a month to do one picture, thats just bad business ;-;
Anywho, I wont bore you with crycry crap. I may or may not open them again in the future, WHO KNOWS WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS ;3;3;3;3
And no, I'm not going to disappear completely, I still have pictures I want to draw for myself, which I haven't done in a while it feels like, so that will be nice.
Thank you dearly, everyone who commissioned art from me, your support and kindness means the world to me ♥

Do you have vanilla WoW nostalgia? Click here ;3;3;3
Posted 10 years ago If you're like me, then at one point in your life, you sunk ridiculous amounts of time into World of Warcraft during its early stages, because, lets face it, it was one of the best online video game experiences to ever exist.
Unfortunately, since blizzards merger with EA games, they haven't been able to produce anything more than steaming turds with game titles stuck to them. This unfortunately also applies to all of the recent WoW expansions. It pains me to see the smoldering hunk of crap the game has turned into.
BUT WAIT, IS THAT A LIGHT SHINING THROUGH THE ENDLESS DARKNESS SURROUNDING EVERYTHING WE HOLD DEAR?!
Probably not, but it is a good vanilla server

-Its unmodded
-Its free
-No special "donor benefits"

-A few guilds have done molten core, but most everyone is still leveling / a fresh 60
-its populated, anywhere from 3000-6000 can be seen on at a time
-Euro server
-Lag free (for me at least, im in USA)
-Factions are almost balanced, think its like, 45-55 alliance/horde ratio
-Easy to install, click the link i sent
-Only a few minor bugs, nothing gamebreaking
-Dedicated dev team that doesnt want your money
-No you wont get banned from retail WoW for playing this (though you probably wont care once you start!)
-Probably the closest thing to a vanilla experience possible, probably the last good one that will ever exist
-Yes, barrens chat is still inoperable cancer
Whether you're an old vanilla veteran, or new to the scene, its definitely worth checking out. As I stated above, this is probably the last good vanilla server there will ever be, so get out there and start leveling!
If your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, you can thank me later
FOR THE HORDE >:U
Unfortunately, since blizzards merger with EA games, they haven't been able to produce anything more than steaming turds with game titles stuck to them. This unfortunately also applies to all of the recent WoW expansions. It pains me to see the smoldering hunk of crap the game has turned into.
BUT WAIT, IS THAT A LIGHT SHINING THROUGH THE ENDLESS DARKNESS SURROUNDING EVERYTHING WE HOLD DEAR?!
Probably not, but it is a good vanilla server

-Its free
-No special "donor benefits"
-Its been up since march, i believe
-A few guilds have done molten core, but most everyone is still leveling / a fresh 60
-its populated, anywhere from 3000-6000 can be seen on at a time

POKEMON X&Y HYPE SURVEY THING YEAH
Posted 12 years agoI R EXCITE FOR GAMES
What better way to get excited for them than to make another freaking journal about em?
ANSWER THE FOLLOWING NERDY POKEMON QUESTIONS FOR MY AMUSEMENT
1. Which any one of the starters from any generation was your favorite? (YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE!)
2. Which trainer (the one that you played as) from any generation was your favorite?
3. Who was your favorite rival?
4. Was there a pokemon you have used repeatedly in every single generation? (if possible) And if so, which one?
5. Which town or city was your favorite from any of the generations?
6. Which game from any of the generations was your favorite? (AGAIN YOU CAN HAVE ONLY ONE!)
7. Finally, even though the answer is obviously Glaceon, which pokemon is your favorite? (THERE CAN BE ONLY OOOOOOONNNNEEEE!)

If I was to offer commissions, would anybody be interested?
Posted 12 years agoTitle pretty much says it all.
I want to draw things, but need motivation, I need money, and you need morally questionable furry art, so the question stands, if I were to offer commissions, would anyone be interested in potentially buying them?
I know I'm not the best, or even good really, but I would certainly try my best to please (with art) any potential customers! I have been doodling here and there, and I think I have improved a little bit with a few new techniques over my period of artistic solitude.
Anywho, let me know what you think of the idea! (Or don't and i will take that it a not interested lolol)

POKEMON ECKS AND WHY
Posted 12 years agoSO! If you weren't born in a barn, chances are, you probably know about the next generation of pokeyman games on the horizon.
You can look at all of the new and shiny features; the first actual 3D pokemon RPG, sylveons, new pokemon, sylveons, pokemon stadium style battles, sylveons, and other things im sure im forgetting!
(Did I mention sylveons?)
I know I'm not alone when I say that my inner man child is drooling in excitement, so in lieu of being patient and waiting to ask what people think when the games actually come out, I think I'd rather just ask what everyone thinks.
By that I meeeeean
What do you think about what has been previewed so far?
What new features / pokemon / anything are you hoping to see?
What old features do you hope they bring back?
Me personally? I'm hoping they add some longevity to the game. 8 gyms and a trip to the elite 4 isn't all that time consuming for the seasoned player, and online play being limited to pretty much just battles, the games can grow boring quick after you power through the story.
I also hope they add in a difficulty choosing option, or just make the game all around more challenging.
And one feature I REALLY hope they bring back for innermanchild reasons, is the feature from heartgold/soulsilver to have your pokemon follow you around so you can get a glaceon and spam talk to it instead of actually do anything productive in the game! I thought it was a cute feature, and it kind of adds to the pokeyman trainer immersion and stuff.
One thing that leaves me scratching my head, is that pokemon is nintendos best selling series of all time, and they could really make a truely epic-in-every-way game, yet they seem content with just the same old game with slight updates each time. (probably because they know it will sell regardless ;-;) Either way, Im not ashamed to say that Im excited, and I will be one of the fully grown males waiting in line at game stop to pick up my reserved copy on release day :o
