Alright, I think 2 years is -plenty- long enough for me to finally get around to writing a new journal on here. So what's been going on all this time? What wild adventures have I had? Grand exploits to speak of?

Well, as anyone can tell, said exploits were not of the artistic variety (given I only wrote one story in all that time). In truth, I've been spending all of my time delved deep into my studies, getting things sorted out, and figuring out my next steps. I'm now entering a period of relative calm, as I've successfully completed my Bachelor of Game Design, and have begun working for a larger company working on game development.

The last year of the schooling program was actually a pretty interesting one, I really got to flex my coding skills. I was part of a team of 6 students all working on a Capstone game. We had a sound designer, a 2-D artist, 3-D character modeller, 3-D asset designer, production lead, and a coder (myself). We went rather ballsy with our design and made something for the VIVE, stepping into the realms of VR. The result was something I really feel proud of. We submitted our game at the 2017 LevelUp in Toronto, a competition including students from 12 different universities and colleges, and over 80 other teams, and of the 12 possible awards, our game won -two- of them, second best for technical innovation, and 3rd best overall game. I'll be patting myself on the back for at least a year or so for my part on -that- particular endeavor!

Once things fall more into a routine, I've got a number of plans underway. Things like getting my own private place to stay and keep my belongings, setting up work stations when I'm at home so I can properly get into story writing/art/music composition on my down time, and generally just relaxing after far-too-many years of school. Oh, and paying off student loans...yeah, that's going to be a long-running goal, no doubts there.

Hard to think it's been over 7 years since I joined FA. So many friends I've made purely thanks to this website. Who knows, without the people I met, maybe I'd of never ended up a furry? Maybe I wouldn't have even ended up in the discipline and career I am now? Who knows! such things are not for our particular timeline in the multiverse.

J- "Some people have had arguments over whether to classify the eon tree as foxes or dogs, but it's all part of the canidae family. Beyond that it's mainly semantics."

C- "I can be a bit scatterbrained at times...easilly distracted...also I sometimes forget to tell people who sleep with me that I tend to shift between anthro and feral in my sleep >.<; wouldn't be such a big deal if I wasn't as big as a truck..."
J- "Letting little shit-brains run their mouths for too long. Frankly, I'm far too generous with them."

C- "My parents...My mom's so kind and compassionate to everyone, and dad's just so...proud, majestic even! They're my role models..."
J- "Only to the degree of them being my next target. If someone's smarter than I am, I'm going to learn what they know one way or another to climb my way up. It's not a competitive thing, it's simply survival. Those with the greatest skills and intelligence, win."

Tis the season, to be greedin!

Hello to all! (if there's anyone who even reads these of mine, hah)

It's that time of year again, and it's time I updated my journal! It's been ages but...gotta start somewhere, right? Good lords my "submission" notices are through the bloody roof...ahh well, I'll deal with that later (I think...)

On to business! I got quite a wonderful haul this year, of yes! Here's a list of the christmas grabs.

- Two eye masks for sleeping (both of which are wonderful!)
- Two winter hats (One casual toque, and one super-fuzzy-holy-garbles!)
- A nice thick pair of winter mitts
- "Inheritance" the next in the wonderful Eragon line! (Gods I love dragons~)
- A ceramic glass with hot cocoa mix and marshmallows in it, sweet!
- Three cans of compressed air (trust me, I need 'em)
- Some feet and hand winter warmer things, doubt I'll actually end up using them though.
- A full set of nice tall drinking glasses, much needed for the 'ol Uni house!
- 40 AA batteries (again, trust me, I need 'em~)
- The complete fourth season of "Doctor Who" Which shall be watched soon!
- A Clear crystal diamond with a ringed planet bubbled inside~! (It's gorgeous~)
- Some Harry Potter "Fudge Flies" (good lords I hope there's not real flies in them...)
- A gigantic, mobile action figure of The Juggernaut (bitch!), and holy hell is it heavy. It's like lifting a weight!
- A lego figurine of the Master Chief (Already built and posed, I thank you~)
- Two plastic mode kits, one of a "Raptor" fighter jet, and one of a "Strategic Space Command" Both of which will look awesome when completed, I assure you.
- Various assorted other candies and treats horrible for my teeth~
- And Best of all, the cream of the crop, a new pair of wireless headphones! These are the "Logitech G930" brand, and they are SEXY. Not to mention the music quality...listening to "Lil' Slugger Battle" has NEVER been so intense!

What about you, possible readers?~

So I've been browsing the old interwebs for a long while, and even still, I keep on finding things related to my little pony. I honestly don't get it. I mean, besides videos on youtube and such, there's art of it EVERYWHERE. Every furry site I check, more and more MLP stuff. Take E621 for example. I love going there, but for the longest time now every single new page of art has been at least 50% or more of just MLP artwork.

Why?

I mean, I even checked out an episode or two online to see the hype, but I don't get it, even now. Sure, the series isn't by any means -bad-, it's got life lessons and warm-feelings and all that blah, but to have literally exploded in popularity THIS much? It makes no sense! I'm not able to find ANY reason why this simple show would have gained so much unanimous appraisal, love, and frankly, addiction!

I am one very confused individual.

This is something I've been doinking around with on MSN recently, but I figured I'd turn it into a meme for fun!

The rules are really quite simple. Here there'll be a list of every single pokemon, and your task is to decide whether you, if given the option, would do anything of a sexual nature with them.

Meme Answer Format:

2) Oooh, what kind of fighters are they?

Cellidor is among what could be described as the "Paladin" class, utilizing both combat skills and arcane magic to protect himself and those he cares for against his enemies, able to use healing spells when needed.

Jack is a battlemage, Fighting with fierce close combat weapons and devastatingly destructive spells from a distance, obliterating any who stand in his way to dust.

3) What are their stats? (grade THEM from 1-10, and no restrictions!)

4) Woot, sounds like all kinds of BADASS! What are their weapons of choice?

Cellidor prefers to use a curved khopesh, one handed but with a long handle, so that he can switch between using it as a two handed blade, and using a sword and shield, along with an array of healing, protective, and disarming spells.

Jack always uses his split-blade two-handed barb claymore. despite its large size and weight, he's trained his body to be able to wield the blade with one hand, so he can readily fire off any one of the many destructive and cursing spells he has at his disposal.

5) What would be their first phrase upon meeting the party?

Cellidor - "You look like quite the group of adventurers! I can only imagine the stories you have to tell."

Jack - "Interesting little pack you've assembled here. off to fight some big baddies, are you?"

6) When they're invited to join, what is their reason to accept?

Cellidor - Loves the chance of making new friends and going on an adventure.

1. If you lived in one of the many worlds of anime or comic. What would it be? (please be specific)
Pokemon. Why is that? Simple. In any other anime or comic i can think of, while there are great adventures going on, there's always one of two problems... The first problem is called "the unlikelyhood complex", which basically means that while there are lots of coo people and special abilities, they're only belonging to a select few people (see: Inuashi, Powerstone, Shaman King, etc.) If one were to be put into that world, chances are, they'd only turn out to be some commonplace farmer, who might see some action at some point, but might also get themselves killed. No fun. The other problem is "The game complex" which in essence means that the whole "world" is based on some kind of game (see: Yu-Gi-Oh, B-damon, Beyblade, etc.) While this could be entertining at some point, its still, in essence, a game, and that's it. though some of them have special "magic" involved, you'll usually hit the first complex again, that being that only a few choice people can use this "magic" (like Beyblade's "beasts"). In pokemon, those problems are gone. In pokemon, anyone can be a trainer and capture pokemon, even the common farmer boy. The main characters of the series itself are still just normal kids, who happen to be god with their pokemon, nothing more. You don't have to follow the same "huge plot" that most animes do, and you can just grab some pokeballs, head out into the woods, and make your own adventure!

Ditto-like abilities. Change my form, weight, voice, smell, everything, at will.

Back when I was young, about 6 or so, I was at school and got in trouble, along with another guy. we were both sent to stand by the school wall until the end of recess, and when the bell finally rang, I ran off to join the line-up to go inside. I didn't realize this, but on running past the other guy, I had accidentally bumped into him, which made him cry and got me into trouble with the principal. Though I don't remember hitting him, I still wish I hadn't, as I had no intention of hurting anyone....

1. I've never left Canada. Nor have I gone on a plane, obviously.

2. When it comes to the things I do, I'm usually a jack-of-all-trades. I've taken karate lessons, sailing lessons, swimming lessons, rock climbing lessons, volunteered at various places, gone to a tournament or two (one was a chess one, actually pretty fun!), and gone camping on occasion.

3. I like to create in many different mediums. I'll draw, write, photograph, design, among other wondrous things. self-expression is fun!

4. I've never smoked, had any kind of alcohol, drugs, or any of that kind of stuff, nor do I ever intend to.

5. I hate coffee.

6. When going up or down stairs, I always make sure to end on my left foot. No ones ever noticed.

7. I've never been able to answer the question "what is your greatest fear". I have no fears....and every fear. My fears are constantly changing, seemingly at random. One day, I'll not be able to go within ten feet of a spider without completely loosing it, while other days, I'll let one or two of them crawl over my arms and legs with no problem. One day, I'll be all of 15 feet off the ground, and I'll become woozy, and have to back away right away, yet other days I could be on top of a 15 story building, leaning over the railing and wondering what it'd be like if I just jumped off just to feel the breeze.

I'm bored, So it's time to do a bit of deep thinking. What's the topic going to be? Let's start with...life.

A bit of a broad topic, perhaps, but it seems the necessary category. So tell me, what does it mean to be alive? One might go for the literal meaning, and say that it's when you have a functioning heart, breathing lungs and a working mind, but what else? People have been said to be "dead to the world", yet they still breathe, do they not? they still feel pain and pleasure as normal? Or do they? Sure, when we get hit, our body says its painful, and when we are rubbed, caressed by a gentle hand, our body says its good. But one will notice, through possible speculation and experimentation, that not everyone will react the same to the same touch, the same hit. It depends on how we feel about it, on how our minds, who we are, says we should feel. one might be hit, and take pleasure from that pain, saying it feels good, despite the soreness of it. One might be felt and massaged, yet shy away from the pleasant feeling, on the grounds of what their minds tell them. So if us being normal, being human, is weighted on how we react and feel to things, then what are the requirements? what are the limits? Is there a set amount of "emotion" that one has to give off to be alive? And if people need emotion for this, then what kind? There's good and bad emotion, along with everything in between, but then there's another bump we hit. What we see, not in ourselves, but in others, is also dependent on how we ourselves feel. One person might like someone they know, because of some similarities or pleasurable differences between their minds and emotions, yet hate another person because they DON'T like they way their mind is. Everyone is said to be different, but there is still that guideline, that similar "human-ness" that everyone possesses. So what if someone lacks this? this thing that makes us alive? What does that mean to everyone else who's "alive", should they be shunned by it? How can one even tell, when they are talking to someone with no emotion? Well, one might find it simple to answer, as in most people's minds, an emotionless person will just sit around not doing anything, not reacting to anything or anyone. Then again, there are others who would argue that being "emotionless" means that you feel no remorse (aka, killing tiny animals with no feeling). I have a different theory. I say that whether or not one is alive is dependent on how they truly feel about what they do. Even if someone sits around, not reacting to anyone else around them, are they not still aware of what they are, of who they are? Perhaps so, perhaps not. But think of this, what happens if you try to get an emotionless person to do something deemed to have emotion in it? Chances are, they'll shun it off, or ignore you. Has anyone thought that perhaps they enjoy their emotionlessness, in their own way? Maybe the life of not caring is pleasant, or at least better than what it would be if they DID show emotions? So my theory stems from whether or not people feel, deep inside, what they do. lets think of actions here. If one laughs, Is it not enough for that common spasm of the diaphragm to occur? Is the familiar rushing of wind from your lungs to your mouth not good enough? Is it that, to really laugh, no matter how loudly or quietly, you have to feel it, you have to actually be feeling SOMETHING from what you're doing? Notice I never said joy, as that isn't required. If you are laughing simply to be nice, or laughing from something awkward, or to make light of something painful, even if its not the emotion people connect to laughter, you still feel it. You feel the painful awkward laughter, feel the uncomfortableness of doing it. And then the other end, tears. Those simple droplets of water falling down your face. They could be tears of joy, or of the greatest regret and sorrow, but you still FEEL it. So tell me, what is a person, who does not feel that which they do? What does it mean when someone laughs and feels nothing, cries, yet is confused as to why they do so, as they feel none of the sorrow, or joy, or ANYTHING that comes with it? Are they human? Are they just a common husk of flesh and organs?

Some people are said to change the way they feel about things. One time they might like this, another day, that. One day they agree with something, and another they don't. Part of how we feel about things comes from what we know, and of how others act, etc. etc. Tell me, what is the normal time, for someone to change an opinion to another? For some, it could be seconds, but those usually come from swift acts, such as someone changing their trust in another after the person does something horrible. Is it normal, though, for one to change their opinions so often, to alter what they think so much, that they HAVE no opinion? What does it mean though, to have no opinion or feeling towards things? The word that comes to mind is "neutral". It could be good this way, but the other is fine too, both paths seen as the same thing. Some people forget though, what neutrality can also be. think of simple math, is zero only zero? no, zero can also be -3 + 3. two opposing numbers, evening out to...nothing. People can be indecisive at times, since the pull from two different choices is equal, leaving them in blank middlespace. What if that blankness, that middle nothing, was your entire life? Lets say, perhaps, that someone may act nicely, or act cruelly, but their thoughts in their heads make them neutral? To put it humorously, what does it feel like, to feel absolutely nothing? What's it like, to enjoy everything, and hate everything? do agree and disagree with everything, even yourself? To what ends does one get, understanding all, yet understanding none? Is it painful, all of the indecision? yes, it is. Is it joyous, not having to commit to any opinion? yes, it is. but at the same time for both questions, no, it isn't. There's no decision to be made.

Lets move on from that, though, and onto a new topic, about life and its difficulties. Where is someone in their life, about how they feel on what their situation is? One person, one in a high class society and home, might look at the children in Africa or otherwise, and say "How can they ever be happy? How can they ever smile, when they have so little?". To this, I am reminded of the phrase "Is it better to have loved and lost, or to have never loved at all?". Most would say it is better to have loved, so that you will have never missed out on the wonderful feelings you got while the time lasted. I disagree. I believe that a more fitting response to the previous saying would be another saying in itself, "What they don't know can't hurt them". People talk about how precious life is, but think about this. Imagine if, by chance, there was another person in the world, just for you. be it friend or otherwise, this person fits to you in every way imaginable. You can imagine how wonderful it would be to meet this person, right? Now think about this, let's say that that other person was in an accident. Let's say that, in their youth, an illness claimed their life. Tell me how sad you are. Tell me, honestly, how much grief you are feeling this second over the person lost forever, you're perfect person. You cannot honestly say that you truly feel all that bad. And why is that? Simple, because you didn't know them. You have no idea what talking to them was like, as you never have. You don't know anything bout them, as you've never met, and now they're dead. Parent's will grieve over the loss of a child, but do they grieve over the literal millions of their 'children' that never made it to the egg? Do they give any thought to those who never got to multiply and grow, becoming human? no, Because they didn't know them, not in the slightest.People can look at blissful unawareness and scoff at it, saying that that person should be seeing what they missed and feeling something over it, but they won't, because they can't. Back to the thoughts of people in, lets say, "lesser" countries, You would wonder why they can be happy? Why they can smile? It's simply, the only life that they know if is the one they live in. Living in that country, with their small (or large) family in a ramshackle home is fine, since they have with them everything they've ever needed since birth to be happy, which is usually just their family. Now what would happen if someone in a high class house somewhere else were to be placed into that country? Guarantee, they might enjoy one, possibly two things, but otherwise they will be miserable. Over and over, their minds will play on all of the things they're missing, all the things they no longer have. I think, to really gauge how bad a life has been, you have to take what they had, and compare it to what they have. Someone has a shitty life? With parent's who don't care and abuse and such? That's bad, as we could expect. But then say that person's brother dies, or something. Yes, that's bad as well, but it's just another crappy thing being added to their life. All their existence their life has been at a -12, and that death would only further bring it to a -14. Now take another person. Take a person who is completely happy, with everything they'd ever want in their life, money, good family, friends, everything. Now take that person and strip it away. Take away those friends, reduce the money, and separate the family. Take a look at where the family is, is it nice where they are? Well, sure it is. The remaining family still cares, they still have enough money, but it's not the same. It's more the drastic amount of change that just happened that matters most here, as that child just went from a +20 life, to a +3. The life he has is still good, no doubt. It's still better than the first child's, for sure, but which child is the saddest? Is it the one who just had another bit of crap added to their life, or the one who had all of his good life taken away from him? To put it another way, the bathroom smells the worst to the one who was just sniffing flowers. To take off the rose-coloured glasses is painful, and I say, leave them off from the start. Otherwise, how can you expect to feel anything, after such a huge change? It's a simple process to be happy, when you no longer care either way. It's easy to pull a trigger, when you aren't effected by the results.
