CPFC Website / Registration Open
Posted 10 years agoSince I work in school and summer has hit, I get my 3 day weekends back.
SOOOoooo, I had some extra time to put together the CPFC 2015 website. *wipes sweat from brow* FINALLY!!
http://www.cpfurcon.com
I am still working on some of the pages so don't be a hater... *points finger at you and lifts an eyebrow* ..buuuuuuuut I should have the last year gallery and the GOH page up and finished by tomorrow....hopefully. *shiftyeyes*
It would be really really REALLY awesome if you could go register A.S.A.P. so that we can start working on ideas in our noggins about what to expect.
If you DO register now, you are NOT obligated to pay now (Even though it would be super helpful) but you have the option to pay at the door, and yes that WILL lock you in to the pre-reg price. But those who do pay early will get a little something extra for their help. Plus it just makes registration at check-in like 100% faster.
ummm...umm.....umm...The Forum is also up and free to use...(be sure to post if you need room/ride share)
hmmmm...I think that is about it for now.
OH OH OH, one last thing.... Dealer's Den Tables are FREE this year. First come first serve, and they are only open to dealer's, so not any Joe Shmo can just come in and sit at a table and just draw and take up dealer space, that's why there is that GIANT hall with round tables in the riverview room...that room is for artists and people who just want to hang out and draw and such and such and .....you get the point.
If you are a legitimate dealer and want a table or two, please be sure to mark it in the registration form when filling it out.

...and did I mention FOOD!! @_@

CPFC 2014 Registration Price lock-in
Posted 11 years agoAs all of you know the pre-reg price of $35 is no longer available starting Oct. 1st.
I know quite a few of you need a little more time to get the money together so we are going to help out a little. We will provide a link below for you to register for the con now, and if you do we will honor the the $35 pre-reg price at the door on the day you show up to the con.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet.....Z5dnc6MA#gid=0
(be sure to tell everyone you know that was interested in going so they can get registered to please, It helps us get better prepared for the proper amount of attendees.)
--
Also be sure to reserve a room at the hotel before then because as of oct. 1st the hotel will start opening the remaining rooms out to the general public. (It doesn't cost anything to reserve a room, and you can cancel it up to 24 hours from the reserve dates without any penalty costs, so its a good idea to lock one in now).
We still have lots of time and space for panels open for anyone who would like to have one. Art panels, Writing panels, pony or brony panels, just contact us as soon as possible so we can get it on the schedule for you.
EDIT:
Oh, and our head DJ
shastawolf87 is looking for one more person to perform, if your interested in DJ-ing please contact him A.S.A.P.
And last but not least, yes we have picked a winner for the T-Shirt Contest and he chose to stay anonymous for the time being. We will reveal them when you get to the convention.

CPFC 2014 Website is Live! + Pre-Reg is OPEN
Posted 12 years agoCPFC Year one a success ^_^
Posted 12 years agoFirst we would like to thank everyone who helped make our first year a huge success. Without the help from those who gave a hand with setup and tear down it would have taken ten times as long. And of course without all those who attended what would be the point of even hosting the event. So we give praise to all who participated and we would love for you all to come back again next year.
I think that we were very surprised how smoothly everything went. And the hotel staff was extremely happy how clean we kept the place. They enjoyed having us and want us to come back again next year, and that is definitely the impression we wanted to leave with them.
Our numbers were not that great, but I think the impression we left with everyone was. We had a goal to reach of 100 attendees, and we were just shy of that standing at 97. We pulled in $706 for our charity tanginyka wildlife, a very nice number for a first year con, which we can’t thank you all enough for.
We are trying our best to pin down a date as close to the original one for next year, but it’s possible that we might have to move it into November. It’s not a definite, but we will keep you all updated as we get the details worked out.
For those who did attend we would like to know what you did/didn’t enjoy, what you would like to change about the con, or what you would like to stay the same. Our goal was to make this convention for all of you, and thus your opinion is what matters the most. So please don’t be afraid to speak up if it’s something that could improve this convention for future years. If you want to remain anonymous please send us a private message via note here on FA.
For anyone who is interested in helping out or would like to take on a task of being a staff member please contact us with your information and a little bit about what your area of interest is. We will contact you and talk it over.
Aaaaaaaaaand I guess that’s about it…Thank you again everyone and we look forward to seeing you next year, (or possibly sooner at the lake afton campout coming this next May.)

CPFC Ride/Room share last chance
Posted 12 years agoFor anyone who still needs to find a roommate or catch a ride, this may be your last chance.
Post what you are needing in this journal, whether it be needing a room or needing to fill a room.
I know a few of you have been searching and I know a few of you have been set up with new friends already.
Be sure to get the word out to help your fellow furs.
We look forward to seeing you all in a few days. ^_^

CPFC Just a few days away!!
Posted 12 years ago“OMG!! Just a few days till the convention, and I haven’t even packed.” O.O
LOL, just kidding. We actually have everything squared away and ready to bring Kansas this much needed furry event. It took quite a bit of planning and more money than we would like to mention, but we have accomplished all the tasks at hand to kick off year one of Central Plains Fur Con.
We would like to say thank you to all that have helped us get this far. And a special thanks to all those who decided to go above and beyond by choosing to attend as a sponsor, super sponsor, or lifetime member. Your contributions helped considerably toward some of the major expenses in getting this event together.
We have quite a few panels (and space for more if you’d like to host one yourself). Just come see us and we will get you a time slot.
Lots of time to get your dance on, whether it be for the dance competition or just at the nightly rave dance thingy. So bust a groove and strut your furry butt.
If you’re wanting to make any requests for music during the dances please do so, we will do our best to integrate it into the mix for you.
We will have prizes for the top performers that participate in the variety show, so if you’re a musician, actor, comedian, etc. don’t hesitate to sign up.
Please remember to bring cash. Not all of the vendors have the option to take Credit or debit cards. So it would be a good idea to bring cash if you plan on buying anything extra. If you need there is an ATM located in the lobby of the hotel for your convenience.
Super Sponsors will have lots of extras this year, including the Guest of Honor dinner Saturday evening, so if you are one, please remember to not make any plans for dinner that night. I guarantee this is a meal you will not want to miss.
We are really excited about this event and we can only hope that everyone else is too.
We went to great lengths to make it happen and we plan on bringing it back for you all year after year. All we ask in return is for your help showing our charity that we care. If everyone could show their support by bringing anything they could pass on or live without and donate to the charity auction event, we would be extremely grateful, and so would the animals of Tangyanika Wildlife Park.
If there is anything at all that you would like to ask, PLEASE don’t hesitate to contact us directly. The staff is here to help with anything you may need assistance with.
We look forward to seeing you all in a few days, and thank you for your support.

Posted 12 years agoThere's only two days left to get pre-registered!!! If you haven't I suggest you do so to take advantage of the discounted price. So what are you waiting for? Click the link and go do so already. ^_^
https://sites.google.com/site/cpfur.....n/registration
There is also 3 lifetime badges still available at the moment, but they will not be after pre-reg ends. We need to send the orders in to have the custom metal badges made. So if your wanting to take part in this one time offer I would suggest to pounce on it while you can.
---
Other notes:
We are really excited about having tangyanika as our charity and it would be awesome if we could show our support by bringing things to donate for the charity auction. If you want to participate just bring anything you want to donate to the registration table and drop it off.
There will be an artist auction as well for any artists wanting to participate. If you want to submit anything into the auction please contact us about it and we will get you squared away.
If you are staying at the hotel you are basically fed the all you can eat breakfast and dinner for free, so there is no worries about extra costs for food. We did get pricing for those who will not stay at the hotel, and the all you can eat breakfast is only $5.99. (very affordable for all you can eat) and the 5:30 kickback dinner is $8.99 (which includes 3 adult beverages). But remember, it's FREE to anyone who is staying in the hotel.
Also anyone staying in the hotel get free access to unlimited soda pop and popcorn from 2pm to 10pm. Just another perk of the hotel. ^_^
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us. admin[at]cpfurcon.com

CPFC 2013 Updates (pre-reg ending soon)
Posted 12 years agoSo the con is drawing near and thus so does the pre-registration cut off date. As of Sept. 1st anyone who has not registered will have to pay the full price of $40 at the door. So if you are planning on making it out for the weekend we highly advise taking advantage of pre-registering. And just to let you all know there are still 3 lifetime badge slots available to those who are interested.
https://sites.google.com/site/cpfur.....n/registration
Also, if you haven't booked a room I would advise to doing so now. As of Sept. 1st the hotel will open any available rooms back to the general public and once they do it tends to get booked up pretty fast. It doesn't cost anything to book a room now, and you can always cancel a room reservation within 24 hours and not get charged for it.

Also, if you haven't booked a room I would advise to doing so now. As of Sept. 1st the hotel will open any available rooms back to the general public and once they do it tends to get booked up pretty fast. It doesn't cost anything to book a room now, and you can always cancel a room reservation within 24 hours and not get charged for it.

admin[@]cpfurcon.comRide share / Room share
Posted 12 years agoSo it has come to my attention that our Forum Page has been sabotaged. It was working fine till one day I get a message saying "your Forum has been flagged as being used for an adult site". Obviously if they would have looked at the site they can see that is entirely incorrect.
So Until we get that mess worked out and the forum back up you can use this journal to post ride shares and room shares.
BTW: only a half a month till pre-registration ends for the discounted price. Also, there are 4 lifetime badges left if your interested.

only 2 months >_<
Posted 12 years agoOnly two months until the Central Plains Fur Con! September 1 is the last day you can pre-reg for the lower price than at the door. You can still get a lifetime attendee badge, but there are only a few left. And also, there are still a few hotel rooms available. Book a room or register now using the link below.
In other words, PLEASE GO REGISTER NOW!! >_<
It really helps us to plan for amount of people attending, so we know how many shirts and conbooks we need to order and such. Plus you get that discount by pr-registering, so why not do it now.
We look forward to seeing you all there!

Regarding the T-Shirt contest
Posted 12 years agoWe couldn't have said it better...thank you Max. (pulled from a post on the last journal)
-He said, and we quote:
"The voting was completely open to the public and at the mercy of the majority rule. Whether or not someone may or may not have prodded their friends to vote for a particular submission is a moot point. Being public voting, every submission is subject to the same treatment and it is at the whim of artists, their friends, fans of artists, fans of submissions, etc to call upon the public or people within their circle to vote for any one submission. Rallying people to vote is not "fixing" the vote; otherwise we may as well not bother voting for any presidents.
Regardless of such, any person prodded to vote for a submission are of their own free will to pick whichever submission they want. This is why it is called public voting. Or in other words, the con staff has no control of the winner.
It's entirely possible the rules were loosened on the criteria for the submissions because there was a lack of any. Just for example, in light of only 3 credible submissions, do you only vote on those three or do you open up the rules to allow more people a chance to win? How is the latter favoritism? Do you think they hand picked particular submissions to allow to slide? I believe it's more they slackened the rules to a point that they got enough submissions to have a variety of choices."
---
Everything stated above is well said and absolutely true. What would be the point of "Fixing" the votes when we could have just lied and said that we had so many votes noted to us to make a certain one work to our favor.
Max said it best above there, (and thank you again). Rallying your friends to vote is just what happens in situations like this. We know it doesn't seem fair but it tends to be more of a popularity contest more than an art contest when that happens. Which is why it would have been nice to keep things anonymous, but there is only so much we can do.
And again, yes, the rules were loosened on criteria for the submissions because there was a lack of any being submitted. When we decided to extend the deadline it was because we were holding only 3 submissions. Within that last 2 weeks we got the remainder of those to push forth and get something submitted. So we were actually lucky to have anything to have voted on at all. I know it's a hard truth, but furries are the worst when it comes to procrastinating. Hopefully in future years we will have lots more submissions, but as for now we kinda have to work with what we can get.
We don't want any drama over this, we really are just trying to be fair to everyone who posted an entry and I don't think it would be fair to the current winner, who was voted on by you all, if we told him that he is no longer the winner.
If anyone is truly stuck on a different design than the winning one, then we might be able to work something out. Place a special order with us or something prior to the con.
There is no need for all that drama and hoopla that went on in that last journal guys.
The only things that should have been posted there was, "Congratulations Acrux" (or something along those lines). But instead it was a mob with pitch forks...I mean really, how do you think that would make you feel if you were in his shoes?

T-Shirt contest winner
Posted 12 years agoFirst we want to thank those who entered for their time and effort.
Second, we know there wasn't a whole lot of entries and some of those entries didn't quite the follow the rules to a "T", but we figured that we would be fairly laxed with it this time since it was our first year.
And so, now on to the winner of this years t-shirt contest.
----
We would like to congratulate
acrux, for taking first place this year.
He will receive a free Sponsor level registration to this years convention as well as have his art used for the T-shirt design. And not to mention an extra $50 bucks spending cash courtesy of Chubby Dinosaur Productions.

Thanks again for all who participated, and we look forward to seeing you all at the convention this year.

Central Plains Fur Con Updates n such
Posted 13 years agoSo registration is off to a good start. Thank you to all who are interested in coming next year.
Also, For anyone who may be interested in a lifetime badge you better act quick, as it seems there are only 8 slots left to fill.
http://www.cpfurcon.com
----
On another note, there is a possibility that we may have a t-shirt design contest for our con shirt. We are still discussing the idea and what not, but as for the just of it, we will be awarding the winner with free con registration and of course the honor to have their shirt made into a reality. (and of course you would get a shirt for free too)
If this sounds like something you may be interested in participating in then send us a note or e-mail admin[at]cpfurcon.com
If we generate enough interest then we might just go ahead and do it.

Registration open for CPFC
Posted 13 years agowww.cpfurcon.com
I know it seems a bit early for us to be opening registration. But we feel that giving everyone plenty of time to get registered will help out with our numbers and planning things around our attendance properly.
We added the Limited Lifetime Membership option to the registration just until we fill those ten slots, then we are removing it leaving the regular choices for the remainder of pre-reg.
So if your interested and want to come out next year come register with us.

Registration
Posted 13 years agoRegistration Opens Oct. 5th
So we think that it's time we get things started and open up the registration.
We feel that by opening registration as early as possible everyone will have ample time to plan and schedule things.
But there is just one thing I should mention though...
-Since this is our first year, we will be offering 10 lifetime badges, and they will be "first come, first serve".
These Badges will be sold at $200 each and it entitles the owner of the badge attendee registration for CPFC... for life.
We will be posting journals on our FurAffinity pages as well as here and on the Con Web-page when we have officially opened registration.
And at that time we will supply a limited quantity Lifetime Registration Button on the registration page for whoever would like to take advantage of this one time offer.
