FUR MEET DATE! MARK IT IN YOUR CALENDERS! (CEO Info as well)

Ohiofurs ALSO INFO ONLY FOR CEOFURS INCLUDED AT BOTTOM
First off I profusely apologize that this hasn't been posted sooner. I had a little flood in my house recently and my laptop was kinda destroyed, so I'm in the process of replacing it. So I'm at the library hoping to god FA isn't marked as porn XD. Anyways about the meet.
So after having talks to many furs, I decided to just do a single day out at COSI for the meet.
COSI is the Center of Science and Industry, rated the number one science center in the country. There are multiple exhibits to visit, such as Gadgets which challenges visitors to expermient in creating their own devices. Or Ocean, which is a rich and deep view at sea life and all the creatures that reside under the water.
The official date is November 7th, 2009.
COSI's address is 333 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215
The cost of admission is $13.75 if you don't want to see the movie, $19.95 if you do want to see the movie. They accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover if you prefer plastic. Also there is an ATM inside.
The plan is to meet at COSI at 12:00pm, noon, and then pay our admission and wander around. For those who want to, there is a movie playing at 2:00pm on the Extreme Screen (The largest movie screen in the state [7 stories], and if I'm not mistaken the nation) called the Grand Canyon. We'll being wrapping up around 4pm.
Since most of us don't know what each other look like, just look for a black guy with a fauxhawk and skinny jeans. That's me ^^ I might also wear my black tail, so look for that too.
Either eat before, pack a lunch, or bring cash for the cafeteria. It is a bit on the expensive side, so if you plan to buy lunch there, plan on dropping $8-$10.
For those driving in, there is a cost for parking, which for the day is about $5.
For Cota bus riders (Like myself), the number 10 going west has a stop right in front of COSI. The fee for a bus day pass is $3.50.
For Bike riders, I have been informed there is NOT bike bars to lock up on. However, I'm more than certian there are places along the street to lock your bike on.
If you plan to attend PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! If more than 15 people plan to attend, I can get us a discounted rate.
My phone number is 559.762.2431. Please RSVP by October 31st, either by text or phone call. Also feel free to text or call with any questions or concerns.
Hope to see ya there!
P.S. I'm going to spend a couple hours tomorrow Shouting all watchers about the meet....goodness that's going to take FOREVER XD

October Furmeet?
General | Posted 16 years agoCross Post from
Ohiofurs : http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/951019/
So I've been doing some more talks with the folks at COSI and we realized with a group of the size I'm expecting (Between 10-15 people), it would make more sense to do an overnight stay with COSI just being one of the events.
So I'm thinking, how about that? A one night stay (for people outside Columbus, or inside, your choice) with a list of events for the two days. Almost like a mini con.
I have many contacts around Columbus, so Hotel's shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've already found rooms at Red Roof Inn in Downtown Columbus, in addition to the one on OSU campus, for around 60 bucks a night. I'm talking to some folks over at the Holiday Inn about trying to get reduced rates rooms there. If so, I'll manage to get Fort Rapid tickets included (Indoor Waterpark)
Tell me what you guys think, if October's a good time, when you might be available, ideas you have as to what could be on a list of events, etc.
I'm looking at the third weekend in October (23rd, 24th, 25th) and I'm thinking Sat-Sun or Fri-Sat.
I also noticed some people where not aware of what exactly COSI is, so if you want more information, visit their website at http://www.cosi.org.

Furmeet in the Future and Possible Ban

Ohiofurs http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/948744/
Okay guys so I'm going to touch on two things here.
First off, I'm in talks with some of the folks over at COSI about doing a furmeet there and having a room sectioned off for us to have pizza, pop, and such. I know alot of the people over there, since I collaborated with them in the past in organizing tweet ups, and in putting together a young leadership conference.
Be sure to stay on the lookout for information pertaining a date, and cost of admission.
In other news, if you're not yet aware, FA is in the process of banning Group pages. Now I'm quite upset about this, as it is my feeling group pages give the community a since of belonging.
If the
ohiofurs or
ceofurs page is to be banned, DO NOT WORRY! I'm close to taking over http://ohiofur.net, so you can watch for information there. In addition, I intend to start my own website, which more than likely will be ohiofurs.com. Lastly, you can watch my account
dalmydog if we are shut down.

General | Posted 16 years agoHey guys! Just wanted to give you guys a few quick updates on what's happening!
I'm currently in talks of becoming a volunteer admin for http://www.ohiofur.net which would be awesome! What I'm hoping is that with the site it can become the official portal for different cons, e-mailing lists, and furmeets around the state. So that would be just pawsome.
In other news, I've been doing some digging around, trying to figure out something fun for a little get together. I shot around some ideas and came up with
Bowling
Movie
MoMo2 (Google map it, Momo's2 Columbus, Ohio)
Columbus Zoo
Gallery Hop
Shopping
If you guys have any more ideas let me know. I'm thinking on a weekend, maybe a Friday or Saturday, so people don't have to work and such. (Only not next Saturday, that's Homecoming ^^)
And as shout out to
fur_gir for an AMAZING banner he did for the CEOfurs ^^
You can view the piece here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2777724
I'll continue to keep you guys informed of the latest happenings. Stay tuned!

FurMeet Cancelled
General | Posted 16 years agoI didn't get enough of a response to make the meet official, so for now I'll cancel it.
However, what I'll do in the future is give everyone about a week's notice, so more are able to figure out their schedule.
Sorry folks :(

Movies at One of Two Locations
General | Posted 16 years agoSo going over the comments people made, I figured somewhere up north would be more convient for the majority of furs, since while I live out east, most live in the Westerville, Worthington, etc. or other northern areas.
So I was thinking maybe the movies at one of two places.
Polaris
Easton
You can google map the two to find which is closer.
I was thinking a movie we can decide on around 8pm.
Let me know if this works for anyone.

Welcome to the CEOFurs Page!
General | Posted 16 years agoOh goodness this is so cool ^^ I just started the page like a day ago and already I'm getting some great feedback from people all over the state. I even helped some people who even though they didn't fit into the CEOfur area, guided them over to our good buddies at
NEOFurs
So I just wanted to offically welcome everyone to the Central Ohio Furs page. And I'm excited to have some many people interested!
Here you can expect at least weekly updates on events happening in and around Central Ohio mostly furry related. In addition I plan to keep an entire list of users in different areas so finally people can meet furs that live close to them ^^
Now just a forewarning, I'm a VERY social person, so be prepared in the upcoming months to have me planning some outings, maybe to malls like Easton or Tuttle and then next year trying to do maybe a fundraiser to help people get to Morphicon.
I'm really really excited about doing all this, so stay tuned!
Just as a side note, if you're interested in creating new icons, or art for the
CEOfurs page, send me a note with a link to the picture. It doesn't necessarily have to be on FA, I can upload it myself if need be, but at least link to a full size picture. If it is an icon, I'll upload it to the page and what I'll start doing is rotating the image every month similar to the FA banner.
