I don't like just leaving it hanging like that, so here's a few updates.

1. I built my new computer. It's a beast. It's amazing. It is very awesome. etc.

2. Due to the generosity of someone I will have a tablet for a while yet. I'm saving up for a shiny Intuos 3 (or 4...?), but until that point I still will be able to do digital art.

3. The reason I'm moving on from this account is due to the negative connotations I have with this entire period of my life, which is of course intrinsically weaved into my art. I'm weird like that, yeah. Unfortunately I also promised way too much gift art and I'm just too much of a wreck right now to deal with that responsibility. Thus, I'm going to start fresh.

I think that's about it.

This account is now dead. I may revive it in the future, or I may not. All pending gift art is canceled.

Future art will be posted on a separate account. Find me if you can. ;)

Okay, so I'm selling my laptop and buying a shiny new (and powerful!) desktop computer to replace it. I'll probably be about two weeks without a computer at all, and then I won't have a tablet even after that. So chances are there won't be any new art here for a couple of months, until I can save up for a Wacom.

I'll be switching over to traditional art for the next while, but I have no scanner so while I may post some art it's going to just have to be shitty photos. Also I won't be doing any gift art in traditional mediums, so that will have to wait.

I'll still have this laptop for about a week or so, though.

I'm attempting to heave myself out of an art slump and to continue where I left off. I want to do some more personal projects, but I also want to complete the art that I have promised to a number of people on here. I haven't forgotten about it, I just haven't had the motivation to do it yet.

If I ever said that I would do art for you, regardless of whether it was a commission or gift art, it will be free, so don't worry about that.

Just please let me know if you're still interested in the art. Reply to this journal if you still want the piece, since I don't want to make art for people who are no longer interested.

Truths:

1) According to Thomas, I "make something out of everything". That's basically true. I think about everything, all the time. I tend to worry too much as well.
2) I enjoy almost any kind of music, with some exceptions. A shuffle through my playlist may bring up Coldplay, Autechre, Bob Dylan, Rage Against the Machine, Amon Tobin, and Deltron 3030. Show me a song and I guarantee I'll give it a good chance.
3) I may be gay, but apparently it's barely perceptible until you get to know me.
4) I'm not particularly unique when it comes to preferred climate. I like places that are warm, humid and near a body of water.
5) I'm in love. ;)
6) I'm fairly quiet, kind of shy, and pretty short (5'7"), but apparently I'm intimidating to quite a few people. I tend to be the person who ends up having to make the decisions amongst a group of people. As a kid, I was generally the one who invented new games to play.
7) I have deep self confidence issues which may not be very apparent outwardly.
8) I eat anything. My favorite foods are relative to the amount of 'artificial' processing.

My life appears to constantly be in flux. This is not something I am unhappy about, I rather enjoy the fact that I cannot metaphorically sit still. I had something going here for a month or two but I became tired of it. I'm beginning to find new direction now.

I know that I owe a few people here commissions, including a couple that are pretty long overdue. But you all know you're getting them free so I don't feel too bad about it. Unfortunately, my artistic inspiration has run pretty dry. I was finding my art too... stale, as if I'm trying too hard to reach some ideal rather than enjoying the creative process for what it is. That's been slowly changing.

So... yeah, I'm still alive! So is the web comic. I feel that needs a different direction as well, so I'm working on that aspect.

Well evidently the demand for Ceuper commissions is not terribly high. That's alright, I wasn't expecting much. I've changed up the pricing a little bit to make it more simple.

So, with the completion of my first commission I'm ready to start seriously taking offers. The pricing is as follows:

$20 will get you a relatively simplistic, fully colored portrait without a lot of detail. Alternatively, I can do fully polished and detailed linework (no color or BG) of any character in any pose.

$30 will get you a fully colored portrait of your character in a fairly straight forward pose with minimal background. I put a lot of detail into my pieces and aim for realism so you can really see your character come to life.

$40 will get you a more complex pose (jumping, running, etc, note me for details) and a full background. Basically I'll paint you a whole scene. Unfortunately I don't have any examples of this at the moment.

I've been doing freebie art for people for a while to get a hang of drawing furry characters. It's coming easier than I thought so I think I'll be opening up loose commissions now. I'll still be drawing free art for people but if you really want something, and you want it specific, drop me a line and we'll figure it out. The art will be at least of the quality and detail of my gift art for foxxtrot.

I'd imagine I'll start out at around $20 or something like that. Drop me a note if you're interested. I do pronz too but I haven't practiced with that yet so I can't guarantee awesome results. :)
