Commission Opening Update!
Posted 6 years agoSlight change of plans! Due to some medical things that had to be scheduled at the end of this year, we're moving our partial and bodysuit opening to October 1st for Quarter 1 of 2020 (that's Jan-March construction & completion)! This way we'll also be able to take more slots during that opening and not have to push to complete things in a shorter time frame.
Our next fullsuit opening does not have a set date, but will be sometime in the beginning of 2020! We're still determined to keep our turnaround time from purchase date under 6 months. Updates will be given when we have them. Thank you for your understanding, and we can't wait to see who joins the family next!
All the best,
CFS

Commissions Open August 1st!
Posted 6 years agoA lot of you have been asking, and we finally have some opening dates! We will be opening for commissions August 1st 2019 for bodysuits and partials, and November 1st for fullsuits. More info below!
Projects in our August opening will be placed in our Quarter 4 (Oct-Dec 2019) batch, with completion estimated for the end of December 2019. This opening has EXTREMELY LIMITED SLOTS. We already have a few projects booked in this quarter, so we will not be able to add too many more. Ideally, we will be taking 2 bodysuits and 2 partials. This can be fudged, i.e. 4 bodysuits, 1 partial and 3 bodysuits, etc.
Due to these spots being limited, we're entertaining a few options that would be applicable to one of the slots. These would be: Higher offer based (I'm willing to pay a little more to get a chance at a slot), auction style (I'm willing to bid to get my slot guaranteed), or leaving it artists' choice (I can’t go higher than the quoted price and I'd just rather take my chances). We'll be creating a poll to weigh our options based on interest!
Slots can have additions (armsleeves, indoor feet for partialing if the feet fit a four-toed mammalian pattern, etc) but the MINIMUM ORDER is a partial or bodysuit! We will not be accepting applications for just heads, just paws, or just tails.
Partials include: Head, hand paws, tail, and bandanna OR fursuit collar OR character headshot badge.
Bodysuits include: Digitigrade (or padded plantigrade) bodysuit with zip-off feet.
Our bodysuits look best with an attached/sewn on tail, because of how much we like to push our body padding. So we recommend getting a tail with your bodysuit order but it's not strictly necessary!
The next opening will be coming up pretty quickly! November 1st will be a fullsuit opening with construction taking place in our Quarter 1 (Jan-March) 2020 batch, with completion estimated for the end of March. That's a 5 month turnaround time! We plan on taking 3-4 fullsuits for this opening, and will have a few adoptable designs available! (Patrons get to see potential designs we put up first, and the final picked designs will be posted with prices at the time of opening)
These openings are placed ~2 months before construction begins to give clients ample time to send in their measurements and duct tape dummies, and to get materials delivered. We'd like our turnaround time to remain under 6 months, so we will only take a few projects at a time but openings will be pretty frequent!

With the turn of the new year, we're also changing our Patreon a little bit! It's something we've been thinking about for a while, so here's a run down of the tier updates!
$1 Tier: No change! Still get the news feed, polls, new plushie and merch design news, etc.
NEW $3 Tier: This is the new tier for early photo and video access!
$5: This is the new WIP tier! Access to WIPs, early viewings of premade/adoptable designs, and all the previous tiers.
$10: 15% Etsy store coupon, occasional free small merch product when we have them (we plan on getting into pins and other new stuff, but they won't be every month!)
$20: This tier still gets you early access to buyouts of premades, but will be going away starting February! We appreciate all of the support people have given us so far but we no longer feel comfortable keeping these kinds of things behind a paywall. We feel it's more fair to have everything go straight to auction! We know a few people are currently at this tier for Bone-Apart, so that's why it's sticking around a little longer.
The rest of these will be updated on January 1st, so be sure to change them the one you want before that (if you want to!)
Thank you all for your support, and we're excited to move into this new system!

Commission Open January 4th!
Posted 7 years agoMark your calendars, commissions are opening January 4th, 2019! We'll be opening for a limited number of fullsuit slots for our Q3 batch of 2019, including offers for Bone-Apart.
When are you opening for commissions? Commissions will be open to the public starting January 4th, 2019. Applications can be submitted for three days (4th-6th) via the commission form on our website. Patrons have access to Bone-Apart even earlier- January 2nd! https://www.patreon.com/CFStudios
What are you open for? We will be open for fullsuit slots ONLY. No partials or pieces for this opening.
If I get a slot, when will I get my suit? Commissions taken for this opening will be worked on and completed during our Quarter 3 batch period. Q3 runs July 1st through September 30th. That means we will begin working on your project after July 1st, and it will be completed roughly by September 30th. "Roughly" because we do not accept deadlines, this is an estimated completion time. Completion may exceed this date because of things like changes being asked for during construction, wanting a new or replacement material to be used, duct tape dummies being delayed, etc. Should everything go smoothly, all commissions in this batch should be completed by September 30th. [b]That means a ~9 month turnaround time for this batch opening!
How do I pay? Do you take payment plans? We do NOT take payment plans, all payment must be made upfront and in full within 24 hours of slot acceptance. If you really need a payment plan, we suggest using a credit card to pay your amount off at your own pace!
How much would a suit of my character cost? I want to know before I submit an application. You can get a quote at any time! Additionally, all applications come with a quote when we alert you that your application has been received. We have an easy to use quote form on our website. http://www.cfstudiosonline.com/quote-form
What furs will you use on my commission? All application reception emails come with a breakdown of furs and materials ideal for your character. In cases of hard to match colors, we often show many possible options. We take into consideration pile length, cohesive color palettes, and design qualities when choosing furs. Client, of course, has the final input! We order all materials ourselves as soon as payment has been received.
How do I get Bone-Apart? Bone-Apart will be available first for our Patrons for 48 hours starting January 2nd. This will NOT be first come, first served. Patrons at the $20 tier will be able to make private offers starting at $4600. If no one places an offer during this period, he will be open to public offers. Read more about this 2-in-1 suit here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/28581603/
How do I see when my slot is coming up? Our queue is public and on our website. It is always accessible! We also send reminder emails starting 2 months before their slot to remind people when to send their DTD and measurements. http://www.cfstudiosonline.com/commission-status
As always, please read our FAQ and TOS. If something is not answered anywhere on our website, please feel free to email us at CFStudiosMail@gmail.com. We do not answer DMs, email is the only way to get a hold of us!
We look forward to seeing your characters and designs!

Wildfire Update (We're okay!)
Posted 7 years agoHey, folks! We're sure a lot of you have heard about the fires happening around California. We are in Northern California, but our area is totally okay! They shouldn't affect us, BUT they are projected to affect shipping times until they are contained. If you've ordered something and live along the West coast, it may be delayed. We appreciate your understanding!

Northwest Coast Native Art Inspired Suit? [RESOLVED]
Posted 7 years agoEDIT: We really appreciate all of the feedback! We will not be making a suit replicating the Northwest Coast artistic styles. We'd still like to make a suit with intent to donate to a Native run non-profit, but it will probably just be an orca (maybe with some unique colors to make it interesting!). Thank you guys for being willing to speak with us!
We were interested in creating a Northwest Coast art inspired suit (specifically an orca whale) and donating some of the proceeds to a PNW Native community/non-profit. However, we are both white and the LAST thing we want to do is be culturally appropriative. We understand that some forms of art are specifically from closed cultures, and these cultures are not costumes. If we are not allowed to use certain motifs/themes, even if our intentions are good, we won’t!
We’d really like to talk to a few people from these specific backgrounds about what is/isn’t okay for us to do. Our ideal situation would be to commission an artist from one of these backgrounds for a character design, which we would turn into a fullsuit with their permission. We’re also open to talking to several people about approving or critiquing a design to make sure it is appropriate. If we do this, we want to do it right. If you’d be open to talking with us, please shoot us an email at CFStudiosMail@gmail.com!

Rush Order Partial Slot Auction- Get it by October 31st!
Posted 7 years agoTons of you guys have expressed interest in getting a partial from us, and while we aren't taking them for our January opening, we do have a little bit of extra time this fall to take ONE rush order partial commission!
This is an opportunity to jump the queue a little bit. We won't be sacrificing any time for our previously scheduled commissions, but this slot will be completed far ahead of our next available slots. Instead of having to wait until the end of Summer 2019, we'll have your partial completed by October 31st, 2018!
Please be sure to familiarize yourself with our TOS and FAQ, and remember there is a 5% sales tax added to all transactions.
The auction will begin Friday 8/24 at 6pm PT and end Friday 8/31 at 6pm PT. That's one whole week to place your bids! The highest bidder will be contacted and full payment is due within 24 hours. Should the winner not respond or not pay within the allotted time, we will contact the runner up.
If you have any questions, please email us at CFStudiosMail@gmail.com!
Bids and all information will be updated on THIS PAGE on our website.
AUCTION DETAILS/BIDDING REQUIREMENTS
-All designs MUST be approved and quoted BEFORE you place a bid. You can use our quote form to get a quote, and then let us know the amount you'd like to bid. If you are interested in the rush order slot, we ask that you submit a quote even if you have gotten a quote from us already - exceptions would include anyone who got a quote AFTER August 10th, 2018.
-This slot is for a fursuit partial as defined on our website, which consists of a head, hands, and tail. We will NOT be taking any extra parts for this rush order slot (no feet, arm sleeves, upgrade to fullsuit, etc.)
-All bids must be placed via direct email to CFStudiosMail@gmail.com.
-You cannot bid less than your design is worth. For example, if the current highest bid is $1800 and your design is quoted at $2000, you cannot bid less than $2000. If your design is quoted at $2000 and the current highest bid is $2200, you would still have to offer more than $2200 for a chance at the slot.
-Bidders will be notified via email each time they are outbid. You will have the option to opt out of these notifications.
Thanks for reading, and keep your eyes peeled for Friday!

Posted 7 years agoAnnouncement and Polls!
Posted 7 years agoSmall announcement! Some of you may already know- Our fabricator has epilepsy and experiences difficulty working with LEDs and other forms of costume lighting due to her deteriorating condition. As such, we will not be quoting or accepting projects with lighting for the time being, and any we do accept will most likely be high-budget creature suits or props. We will usually not include LEDs in fursuit commissions since they don't work with our eyes and we don't use resin pieces.
We also have two polls up on our Twitter regarding future commission openings and what we’ll be taking. Involves adoptable slots, fullsuits vs. partials and pieces, etc.

Commissions open in ONE WEEK!
Posted 7 years agoFullsuit Commissions Open June 1st
Posted 7 years agoAfter several months of discussion, we’re excited to announce that we have an opening date! CFStudios will be opening for fullsuit applications on June 1st, 2018. We will be taking two slots which must be paid in full upfront. We’re letting you know now so anyone interested has time to save up!
These two costumes will be worked on in tandem starting April 2019 and should be completed by the end of June, 2019.
We’re also changing the way we handle slots and work on commissions. This will apply to everyone interested in working with us in the future, so we would recommend reading further if you’d ever like to commission us!
Up until this point, CFStudios has made roughly two fullsuits a month, with scheduled work months per project that are contracted into each slot. We operated with hard monthly due dates to give customers some peace of mind that their projects had an end in sight. This works great in theory, but in practice, so much time has been lost in communication limbo – people have jobs after all, you can’t be on your phone 24/7 – that we will be changing this model. We have also greatly improved the quality of our product and continue to do so more rapidly than we book slots, so many of our slots and contracted due dates don’t account for the extra time our increased quality takes to produce. We don’t want to rush anyone’s projects and feel this is the best solution!
For all future commissions placed with us, we will be using a batch model and giving completion estimates rather than working on one costume at a time with a hard due date. Starting with a second planned opening in January of 2019, we plan to open 3-4 times a year. During each opening we will accept applications for one week, and we plan to take 2-3 fullsuit slots, 1-2 partial, piece, weapon / armor, or fantasy costume slots, and 2-3 small order slots. Pre-designed adoptable slots will be included in these numbers, and will be offered up as guaranteed acceptance slots alongside custom orders. These orders will be worked on nebulously throughout the next 3-4 months. That way if one person needs a few days to think about a decision, we can work on another person’s costume and not lose any time. We have some pretty extreme response time requirements in our current model, and we think this change will help alleviate some pressure on the customer’s end.
Halfway through our current batch we will open for the next batch’s slots. Unfortunately this does mean that we can no longer take long-term payment plans, and clients will need to make all their payments within 1.5-2 months of slot acceptance (if they didn’t pay upfront.) The good news is we’re hoping that with this new business model it won’t make a difference! If you want to commission us but need a payment plan, put those payments into a savings account and contact us during one of our slot openings. We will be opening 3-4 times a year for the foreseeable future so there’s no reason you couldn’t still get a slot! We would like to be more inclusive to those who need longer payment plans and are currently considering options that allow for a few of them a year while still fitting with our new business model. We will update everyone accordingly if we find a way for this to work, but for now you should plan to have to pay in full.
When a batch is finished, everyone should have gotten their photoshoots and will have their costumes in the mail. Ideally we will be finishing orders before the end of a batch, but we wanted to transition to more open-ended due dates in case of emergencies, slow communication, or in case we need to alter or fix something. Each batch will also have a premade suit or new inventory experiment attached to it; we really like making premades for you guys but don’t have any time with our current business model! We also don’t have time to experiment with new items (like kigus, stickers, new plushies, new construction methods or suit offerings, etc.) and are hoping this change will allow us some time to continue to improve.
All of our current contracted slots (now through March of 2019) will remain unaffected by this change, and will have their slots worked on according to our old business model. If this doesn’t end up working out for us we’ll definitely consider going back to the way things were, but for now it’s something we’d really like to try. Since this model has not been implemented yet there are still lots of things that will come down to trial and error, so we ask you to bear with us in the meantime! These changes will not go into effect until January of 2019; we are beginning our batch model with our June slots, but will be taking a six month opening hiatus to shorten our queue and will not be working on them until April 2019 due to previously contracted commissions. Our current queue length is actually the reason we’re only taking two slots; we desperately want to shorten it and hate that some people have to wait over a year for their costumes, so we’re taking as few slots as possible until our queue is at a reliable 6-8 months.
Finally, to support this batch model, keep up with inflation, and address our growing quality and skill levels, we have recently raised our prices. Our website’s price guide has been updated as well; we would recommend checking it out! We are back open for quotes and these quotes will be good through our June application opening. You will still need to submit an application form to be considered, but your quote should not have changed (unless we find something new to offer and you want on board!) And as always, $30+ patrons will get first access to our adoptable slots and premade auctions when we open for them!
We hope everyone understands and is as excited about this new direction as we are!

Constellation Deer Partial Auction!
Posted 7 years agoLook to the stars with this big and little dipper constellation deer! He’s got lots of sparkles and some Swarovski crystal stars, too – he’d love to come home and stargaze with you!
https://www.thedealersden.com/listi.....on-deer/130691
This handsome guy is up on Dealer’s Den, bidding starts at $1k! If this auction is not sold, he will not be relisted and will be sold at either FC or TFF. If he fails to sell there then he will be donated to a charity fundraiser. This is your only chance to get it if you won’t be at either convention!
