I know I don't update often but I thought I should now while I think about it and before I forget in 15 minutes.

The title might be a bit misleading. Let me start off by saying I am not changing anything about my furry or kig side. Those are still here and not going anywhere. The direction I mentioned is a career change. At the end of this month I will be quitting work and going back to school full time using my G.I.Bill. Cons may be put on hold while I go to school, depending on work load. With more home time I may try for some small pictures of all the girls working on stuff but nothing major. Going to save my pennies and see about either upgrading a suit or maybe look into a new kig when this is all said and done. That will be a while from now though.

I know I have been very quiet recently but I have been a busy kitty. Most trying to get a house and having to fix it up. Waiting on paperwork to finalize before we can do any major repair.

As for the furry world. I have no forgotten about it, just been lurking and being mellow. I have a special project in the works that will take a bit longer until it is done and revealed.

One bit of sad news though, due to wanting to pour money into the house I will not be attending Anthrocon this year. I just cannot justify spending between $500-600 when that money can be used to fix up the house, which needs a lot of love due to being build in 1945 and not really being cared for.

While I love my new Chainer suit I still feel as though I am missing something. I want some clothing. Problem being is that I am horrid as picking out stuff. So I am posting this asking what you, my watchers and friends, think would look good on hir. I would like something sexy but variety is the spice of life. Send me ideas and links.

Not so recently there has been a lot of people asking for southern meets. Which I can understand. Here is the deal though.

The next meet is in Manchester, VT on February 7th. About as south as you can get on the west side. So far I am the only person to say I will be there. I have seen two others post. One saying they do not have the money, understandable. The other is not sure of her schedule and couldn't get the link to work. Also understandable.

This is why there are almost no southern meets. People cry about how there are no meet and then when on is planned almost no one says anything. Even if you cannot go it is good to post on the journal that you cannot make it and why. It does not need to be a description but something along the lines of "work" "time" "money" are good to let the people who run the VTFurs know. The reason being is so that in the future they can think back to why a meet did not work well and maybe see if there is a particular reason.

Maybe a lot of people do not have the money to afford the place to eat. Alright so they can plan something with less cost. Maybe it is too far away. Then look up something close to you and suggest it. Any information you give them is good and will help the group in the long run.

The VTFurs are suppose to be a tight knit group. We are a small state and as Vermonters, the people who live in the safest state in the U.S. we are more than willing to try and help each other out. You need to speak up though. Just complaining about something doesn't help.

Off to bed I go. Get to wake up at 2AM meet up with Rustic then do a 10 hour drive to Pittsburgh for the con. Going to be an amazing weekend.

After getting the DTD all cut up I laid out the pattern for one arm on the cheap fabric. Got a good trace and cut it out. Just for some test fitting I sewed it up quickly and tried it on. My hand would not fit through the wrist. I ripped the stitches out and tried again leaving less extra fabric on the outside of the arm. Still no good. This small failure has taught me quite a bit though. I think for the arms and most of the legs I need to do manual measurements and go from that.

If nothing else this suit building will be a learning experience. Now I just need to find stretchy thread.

Well Tonight I was hanging out with  ChazzFox and  LuckyChance02 and got a DTD made. Mildly annoying and not sure how well it came out but hopefully this will be the beginning of my new Chainer bodysuit that I have done in time for AC. Should be fun.

Fair warning to all. Sunday morning I leave the country for a while. Going on a cruise in the Caribbean Islands for about a week. We start in Puerto Rico and hit Barbados, St. Kit, St. Thomas, and a few other places. Wont be back until the 20th. No I will not be bringing a fursuit or a kig with me. As much as I would love to.

I have a small list of things I need to do while around. Most things I need to eat like Flying Fish and Roti. Anyone else think of anything they have down down there that was fun?

A little back story first.

Just about 3 years ago I had put in a commission for something rather expensive and very time consuming to make, as well as fragile. After this long it was done it was finally sent out to me. The insurance that was put on the package was $1000 and was also used as tracking.

The package was sent out on the 14th from a little over half way across the country. While going from there I was not able to keep track of it. The tracking had said that it was to arrive on the 20th. No package and no tracking information to know where it was.

The weekend came and went with no package and no tracking update. I went to my local post office Monday and was able to find out that it was finally close and was being tracked. Finally it arrives last night. I was so excited I was squealing in delight.

I grabbed a knife and cut the box open. It had been nice pulling one thing out at a time, until the final and most important piece. As I lifted it out I had seen a part of it had broken off and was left behind on the box. My heart sank. I had waited so long for this just to find out it was broken.

The worst part being is that I cannot just send it back right away to get fixed. I need to file a claim with USPS which could take 45-180 days.

Anyone out there have any advice for dealing with USPS and their insurance?

Last year while working I was sitting in the car listening to some good old rock music. This song caught me off guard but has since become one of my personal favorite holiday songs and I hope it becomes one of yours.

I lately I have been playing a lot of Smite. It is a MOAB type game very similar to League of Legends but with a over the shoulder view and they use actual gods from mythology of all different cultures. Greek, Roman, Norse, Mayan. I have a couple of friends I play with but I am looking for more. I am about level 13 and it can be challenging but fun.

It is free and as you play you earn "favor" which is kind of the ingame currancy. Save up enough and you can buy a god. I spend $30 to buy all the gods that are out now and all the ones that they will release in the future.

You can either note me in private about your name or put it up for public display.

This past weekend I went to a small local con. Bakuretsu Con in Colchester, VT. The only suit I really wore was my Twilight Sparkle. It was nice to be able to suit at a smaller con and still get so love for a pony. There were a few things that made it a great con though.

The first being that most everyone loved the pony. I ignored the haters. I put so many smiles on so many faces, including little kids. I think I really made there lives a little brighter. One little girl was dressed as Strawberry Shortcake. It was adorable.

What really made it shine was the fact that I was able to inspire someone to make their own suit. Plus they were having a rough time and I was able to help make it a better con for them.

All in all this has proven, once again, that if you do what you love then you can make the others around you happy as well.

Good Evening all.

I am in need of some advice. I know almost all of the people that will read this and comment are smart and level headed people.

Here is a bit of back story about the situation.

Two years ago I made a commission, I will leave out the details of who or what. When I first put in the paperwork I ask if it could be completed and in my hands 9 month later. I was told this could be done. As the months went on I would ask for updates and get very little info. Eventually the date came and gone and was then told it would be delayed a month. Alright, I can understand one month, we all have personal lives.

Then another month, then another. As this point it was over a year and I was told it was little over half way complete. Fine whatever, just send it when it is done. A couple more months went by and I asked for updates. Nothing. I did not hear anything.

It took a while but finally there was some dialog and up to a few weeks ago it was hard to get an answer. I received some pics of the almost completed item and asked that it be in my hands by tomorrow. At one point I was told "No prob". I inquired again 4 days ago and then was told "Will try our best to have it to you by then."

I have not heard anything nor received a tracking number. Even to get to this point took a lengthy message to them about myself being a very dissatisfied customer.

I understand real life does get in the way and things happen. Was has pissed me off the most of the lack of communication from their end. That and the fact that they used the money I send them on their own stuff instead of the items they were going to get for me.

I am at my wits end with this whole situation and am curious as to what others would do.

Again, I am leaving names and items out of this and do not wish to see anything else posts names if you know about this situation.

Ok so I will probably get called dumb for pondering this but there is something that I have never understood.

1. house cat babies are called kittens
2. large cat babies are called cubs.

....What?

They are both feline species so the idea of a different name just boggles me.

Can someone please explain this?
