I just got a puppy so art is a bit slow. I spend most of my time following him around to make sure he doesn't chew on things he's not supposed to or potty in the house. Once I'm confident that he's got his training down I'll be able to return to regular art capacity. If anyone wants pictures I am posting plenty on my personal non-art instagram: roadkill.jack

My bank charged me an overdraft fee for a transaction that was cleared yesterday and didn't even overdraw my account (end of day total was about $18 after it was cleared). Now, my auto payments for Netflix and Hulu would have overdrawn my account, but a friend sent me some money to cover it. THEN my bank took out the overdraft fee, putting me at -$25 before the auto payments cleared.

So they're going to charge me an overdraft for those after all! I hate online banking.

I only have a handful of commissions left but I'm struggling through some mental health issues. Seeing a therapist soon and adjusting my medications etc... and working on commissions when I can.

My work hours might be increasing soon as it's the only way I can stay on my medication (which I need to be even semi-functional these days).

This means I might be dragging on commissions a bit more. I know I've been posting personal art but it's mostly scribbles and quick doodles and I wouldn't feel right applying lazy methods to paid artwork.

Despite this I am VERY EAGER to get through my commission list so I can focus on drawing for myself for a while (without guilt lol). So I am still working through it.

After a meltdown last week I've been a bit slow on commissions. Been mostly doing crappy doodles on my personal account while chipping away at commissions in the background.

I know things are WELL overdue at this point but please bear with me. I'm doing my best to put out quality work. I don't want to rush things and end up falling short.

I’m still keeping all my old personal art accounts disabled, but I figured I would enable RottenRoadkill again so people had access to commissions posted there.

I haven't been in the right mindset to draw much this weekend (my weekend is Tues-Wed) so I apologize on further commission delays. I'm going to try to get some finished soon.

Found out the other day that my home town in the Santa Cruz CA mountains is on fire. Family and friends have evacuated. Some might lose their homes. It's all very upsetting and it's hard to focus on much while it's all still going on. (I currently live in NV).

I know my sister and most of my friends are safe, but their homes and livelihoods are not and there's nothing I can do. I can't stop a raging wildfire. All I can do is hope that they come out of this alright.

So please excuse me for being a little slow. I know I'm already very behind in owing art and I will do my best to get back to it ASAP!

I went ahead and deactivated all of my other accounts except for this one and RenegadeRascal because I was tired of having so damn many floating around on the site.

This means that any artwork on those accounts is no longer viewable. However, I still have (most) files for any commissions posted to disabled accounts. All you have to do is PM me and I can send them to you if you are the one who paid for the art. I'm not gonna send files just for people to view, sorry.

I may re-post favorites from other accounts over time but there are so many I don't have time to re-post everything to my gallery.

Eventually I will be deleting the other accounts when I have time to go through and do that.

...FA would hurry up with implementing a username change option. I saw a forum post from about 3 years ago where it was brought up and a comment saying it was a "top priority"...but still nothing.

Guess I'm not too surprised. Things take forever with this site.

I returned to this account because I was tired of account hopping just to change usernames but I would still like a different username. I just wanna keep all of (or most, at this point) my art in one place. Or two, I guess...commission and personal.

I have pondered primarily using a different site once I complete all the commissions I owe here on FA. Maybe Weasyl...?

Anyone have suggestions? I'm avoiding InkBunny due to their no-human but pro-cub crap. I'm already on Twitter and it's not great for an art platform. I do have Weasyl but I keep forgetting about it lol. I also have Pillowfort (also keep forgetting it). I just want a decent site with the option to change usernames and no cub art. Maybe Weasyl is the best bet.

[And yes, I know IB has keyword blocking but that's not always useful since many people don't properly tag their shit...also I would rather avoid sites that promote cub art, in general].

I may start working on non-animated commissions via iPad in between finishing up the animated ones at my computer. The iPad screen is too small for animation work to me but I've proven to myself that I can whip up decent still images on it, regardless!

It will put commissions a bit out of order but I'll be able to move through my list faster, I think, rather than focusing all time on the large animations and getting nothing else done, otherwise.

Hopefully this is alright with everyone. I have limited time during the week where I can be sat at my desk working at my computer and this way I can dedicate all that time to animation and some iPad time to still art commissions as well as personal art!

I know I've been having trouble working on commissions lately due to stress, anxiety and tablet issues...well the good news is that all of that is starting to get fixed!

I cut back my work hours again to lower stress AND was still able to keep my health coverage. My workplace is allowing employees to keep coverage so long as they work a minimum of 20 hours per week due to the COVID-19 crisis...and I'm working 24 hours per week now.

I just finished virtual-meeting with a doctor and got a prescription for Prozac to help manage my anxiety. I'll be medicated again and I'm very excited and relieved. I was on meds for about 6 months last year before losing insurance and it really helped me.

Also, my new tablet arrived and I've played around with it a bit. It's strange drawing on a display tablet and it'll take some getting used to, but I think it'll be good in the long run! The connection cord seems a bit faulty and will drop the connection on occasion (or may be it's the port on the device) but I'm just being careful not to jostle the cord and it seems ok.

I hope to get back up to speed with commissions soon! Things seem to be coming together now.

Soft hold meaning I'm not going to say they're on hold because I might be able to work on them a bit...but due to stress, work and a bunch of other stuff I don't have the energy or motivation to churn them out right now.

I'm working 32 hours per week and moving at the same time. It's a slow move, bit by bit, but it's still been stressful and it's draining my energy. On top of that my anxiety and depression has been hitting me pretty hard. I can't seem to do more than a few iPad doodles, art-wise.

I did finally get my new XP-Pen Artist 15.6 display tablet and played with it a bit. It's going to take some getting used to but I have it!

I am hoping everything will settle once the move is done but it'll be another week or so. I'll try to keep everyone updated here!
