I just made a grilled egg and cheese sandwich. Mayo on the inside of the bread, butter on the outside. Eggs and cheese in the middle. Made the eggs first, then put them on the bread with cheese and grilled it in butter.

General | Posted 15 years ago...A New Tablet :c
Mine is on its way out and if it dies...I won't be able to work on commissions until I have one.
Does anyone have a tablet they're not using that they would like to donate/sell at a cheap price? As long as it's better than mine, I'll be happy haha.
Mine is a super old Wacom Graphire and the rubber grip fell off of the pen long ago...it has been replaced with electrical tape so the plastic doesn't scrape my fingers anymore.
Or maybe someone can get me one for Christmas :D jk. I would feel silly accepting a pricey gift.
BUT it's mostly a heads up. If my tablet dies, no commissions until I can get a new one so the wait may be longer. HEADS UP!

Chest Binder Review - For Anyone That Cares
General | Posted 15 years agoA friend online suggested a binder to me from lesloveboat.com
The name of the site threw me off at first but I purchased the recommended product anyway: Click Here!
I'm gonna assume this particular binder is for smaller chested guys because it does fit a bit awkwardly on me.
But...it's comfortable as SIN compared to my last binder.
Because it's not made of an elastic material, it doesn't squeeze my ribs and restrict breathing (which also restricts physical activity). It's comfortable to sit in, lay down in, stand in and walk in. I'm going to be testing it tomorrow at a full day's work and see how it holds up. I want to see if I can stand wearing it all day or if it's going to get uncomfortable and make me sweaty etc...
The only issues I have with it are that it's not QUITE as effective as an elastic binder...but the comfort definitely makes up for it as I put comfort first ESPECIALLY when working a physical job (hauling around 50+ pound paper cartridges for the printers all day) so it's not so bad. It's a little more visible than my other binder BUT keep in mind that many men wear tank tops underneath their t-shirts so most people will probably just assume it's a tank top. Hell, most people don't even know what a binder shirt is.
The awkward fit causes for a few parts of the shirt to stick out at awkward angles but it's not made obvious unless I strike some strange poses...and being as I won't be holding such strange poses for more than a second or so (puffing out my chest, for example) then a brief glimpse isn't likely to raise any questions. Most people at work already know I'm transgendered anyway.
Here's two pictures of the binder in action (SFW) underneath a t-shirt. I won't be able to wear any form-fitting shirts but...I couldn't with my other binder, anyway.
Front View
Side View
Yes, I know I'm on the chubby side lol. Trying to slim down.
So it's a little noticeable from a side view if you're really looking, but keep in mind I'm a small D cup normally. And that's big. So this shirt makes a HUGE difference.
All in all I like it so far. We'll see how it keeps up against work tomorrow.

Jackal or Mutt?
General | Posted 15 years agoSo...I'm pondering changing Ace to a Mutt dog instead of a Leucistic Black-Backed Jackal. Turning him into a mutt will give me a chance to play with features and markings a little more loosely.
I dunno...still thinking on it. I think a mutt fits my personality a little better than a Jackal but...we'll see.
~Champ
P.S. NO I don't want to just go willy-nilly with the markings on a jackal. I prefer realistic markings to random or sparkledog marks...I'm already pushing it with my oddly specific Leucistic markings on Ace.

Jackal Love
General | Posted 15 years agoSo they finally added "Canid - Jackal" to the species list.
This makes for happy. But honestly, to cover all the common species in this fandom it would take a LOOOONG list.
There are plenty of others that are being left out that I, personally, see around a lot more often than some of the other ones already on the list.
- Coyote
- Jaguar
- Cougar/Puma/Mountain Lion
- Bull/Cow (Bovine)
- Weasel (ferret doesn't cover it)
- Hedgehog
- Penguin
- Antelope
- fish/sharks/etc...
If anything should be generalized it should be something like 'Rodent'...I see gerbil, mouse, rat and hamster on the list but there are SO many other rodents out there and no 'Rodent - Other' catagory to stamp them with.
And why are 'leopard' and 'panther' separate? They're the same animal. Similar to a red fox and a silver fox...same animal, different coloration.
And why the fuck is "Apple" on the species list?
Love,
Champ

General | Posted 15 years ago...on my costume.
It was nice for a first try and the ears look really awesome.
But I made it too small (worked with a mannequin head that was smaller than mine and forgot to pad it) and the jaw doesn't work right. I got most of the way through the furring and just...decided to quit.
Practice makes perfect, though. Maybe I can salvage the ears and glue them to a headband or something of the sort.
Luckily, I bought from a local fabric store and the faux fur was affordable and great quality (limited color selection, though) so I can easily get more if I want to try again.
helped me out a lot and hopefully her advice will make my next try come out better.
So...I won't be going as a werewolf for halloween. I don't know what I'll go as. Maybe I won't go as anything. Maybe I'll just watch horror movies and stuff my fatass with candy.

Fucking Dogs...
General | Posted 15 years ago...I hate them sometimes.
Today is the one year anniversary of my little brother's death. I had a shitty, long, stressful day at work. When I finally got off at 4:30pm, I was stoked to go home.
And when I got home I found that my dogs had removed everything from the shelves I keep next to my computer to eat, shred, rip, tear, and otherwise destroy it. My blank checks, envelopes, CDs, a roll of duct tape, baked sculpy clay, bills, legal documents, letters, and a sewing kit were all victims in the crime. I can only hope they don't get poisoned by the sculpey (the little guy already threw up a couple times outside but otherwise they both seem fine) but other than that I'm pissed.
They both got the biggest whoopin' of their lives before I locked them in the kennel and shut them in the bedroom for a time out while I cleaned up the mess they'd made. I managed to salvage most of the blank checks, some envelopes and some of my papers, but the sewing kit was demolished, most of the thread was missing though I found all of the needles and some half eaten thread spools, the duct tape was shredded (and pieces of it were stuck to the dogs, which I had to remove)...it was hell.
Photos of my dead brother were included in the assault...but were luckily untouched in their envelope. They had just been pulled to the floor and forgotten. Thankfully.
What a wonderful thing to come home to on a day like this.
Love,
Champ
P.S. They normally don't bother anything on shelves so I didn't see it as an issue. Bowser knows he's not allowed to have something unless it's on the floor or we give it to him. He got a guilty look as soon as I said his name when I found the mess. He knew what he did wrong. Wickett was oblivious as always until I actually scolded him for it.

General | Posted 15 years agoSo...
As most of you may or may not know, I'm FTM transgendered. That means I was born a chick but have always felt like a dude, acted like a dude, wanted to be a dude, etc...
Well the good news is, I finally get to start my therapy. It will be awesome. Soon after it will be hormone therapy and all desired changes will be fulfilled...aside from the chest issue.
I need to get a new binding shirt because all of mine are too worn out OR don't bind well enough (curse being well-endowed). Any crossplayers or FTMs know of any good binding shirts for the big chested folks?
They cost around $30-40 USD from underworks.com...and I need to save up the money for one again :\ but this time I'm gonna really need it. It's gonna be obvious once those hormones kick in and I don't like getting funny looks.
So...it's finally happening. Hopefully it won't take me TOO long to save up money for the top surgery. I don't plan on getting bottom surgery any time soon and possibly not at all. The risks involved are too great.
Would it be bad to start a donation pool for my savings account? I don't care if anyone donates or not, but it might help. Maybe in the future. I'll think on it. I normally hate taking donations.Maybe just a donation pool for a binding shirt or something. (Had some extra cash in my paypal and bought one the other day c: ).
Anyway...as always I thank you guys (my watchers on both Champ AND Champford) for being my fans and friends and I appreciate all the support you've given me over time. I hope you'll stick around.

DJ Disco Bird
General | Posted 15 years agoI'm going to be swapping my bird for a baby bird in spring time.
I have a three year old Meyer's Parrot named DJ Disco-Bird (Disco, for short) and I've only had him for about a year and a half to two years.
He's extremely aggressive. I love him to bits because he's nice to me, but actively attacks my girlfriend,
viciously. He's gone so far as to jump and fly across the room to her while she's on her computer. He's been biting and hissing at everyone that comes near him and is generally very hostile.
I hate the idea of ditching an animal because they're tempermental, but in this case it will honestly be better for the bird. I'm going to be giving him to a breeder who will be keeping him as a personal pet. I've already taken him for a visit and he seemed to like her alright. She's also used to working with birds (even mean ones and biters like Disco) and said she'd love to take him in exchange for a baby Senegal or Red Belly (they're in the same genus as Meyer's).
But the Senegals and Red Bellies won't be ready to go until spring, as the birds usually nest and lay their eggs in the winter season. She's a very responsible breeder, which is why I'm shocked she's going to trade me a sweet baby for a grumpy three year old. But she's definitely a bird lover.
I'll miss Disco terribly, but I have until spring to spend with him and enjoy his company before he goes to his new home where he'll get love and attention and the company of other birds, which he seemed to enjoy while we were there.
And here's to hoping we can raise up the new baby to love both of us...or at least not attack people.
Love,
Champ
P.S. Anyone who owns or has owned Senegals or Red Bellied Parrots, tell me what your experience with them was like. Just for kicks.

A Day To Remember...
General | Posted 15 years agoThis month...at the end of the month...it will be the one year anniversary of the death of my little brother.
He was killed on October 29th last year. It's hard on me and I'm not in the best of moods this month so please bear with me.
If I snap at you or get irritated easily...that's why. I don't mean any harm I'm just under a lot of stress. I'm behind on commissions and I have a full time job on top of that...and then this.
It will not be a fun month for me. I was planning on making a costume for Halloween...but now I'm not so sure I feel up to it. I'll see. I might not have the money for it anyway. I might be behind on rent for this month.

Halloween Icons...
General | Posted 15 years agoWho knows anyone making good halloween icons for cheap/free?
I can't do any trades or anything right now and I feel like it would be silly for me to draw my own (though I will if I run out of time) but the holiday is practically upon us and I feel like I need to be more festive.
So...anyone?
EDIT: I think I already found someone to make a set for me. Thanks for all your offers!

A Food!
General | Posted 15 years agoI eated one!
I had an avocado sammich with lettuce and tomato at this vegetarian restaurant down the street. Also had a side of sweet potato fries and sipped a glass of ginger ale throughout. So far I feel just fine. I ate most of it and don't feel all that sick. There's a bit of gurgling in my stomach and I'm burping a bit, but other than that there's nothing weird happening.
I watched myself and didn't overdo it. I didn't eat too much and I ate slowly (for me). The ginger ale really helped. It was nice to be able to eat something with substance.
Now here's to hoping it stays down all night.

So Far So Good...
General | Posted 15 years agoToday I limited myself to a very simple diet:
Soup broth
Toast
Cran-Rasberry Juice
Water
It seems to be working well. I still have some moments of discomfort or nausea, but otherwise I seem to be doing better. I hope things keep going this direction until I'm back to my old self and shoveling down delicious foods.

Apparently...
General | Posted 15 years ago...I'm not allowed to eat solid food right now.
I was feeling fine today when I went to work. Had a tiny granola bar at break and still felt okay. My stomach was KILLING me. I was hungry by lunch time so I thought the only logical thing: Imma gonna eatit.
So I went out to get food. I had the tiniest of tiny soft tacos. One of the super mild Crispy Potato Soft Tacos from Taco Bell. Only a tiny bit of hot sauce.
I got more food than that because I thought I was super hungry. Usually I can eat a shitton of food from Taco Bell but this time...once I finished that tiny soft taco...I felt so sick I thought I was gonna puke again.
All day I've been feeling sick again. I tried to sleep it off, but I still feel sick.
I'm gonna try to have some soup. This sucks. If I don't eat, my stomach hurts...if I do eat, I wanna puke. I dunno what to do.

I Had NO Idea...
General | Posted 15 years ago...you could get food poisoning from a Veggie Delight sandwich from Subway.
Maybe the ranch that I got on it was just slightly off...I dunno.
All I know is that I felt sick around 2pm yesterday, but I struggled and pushed and managed to make it through the rest of my work day. Got off at 4pm and went to pay my rent. Was feeling alright by the time I got home. I took the dogs out to the back yard and that's when I started feeling it again, so I took them back in and laid down in the bedroom. About an hour later, I felt so sick...and got up to go to the bathroom...
...where I promptly puked out the entire content of my stomach. Some of it even came out of my nose. It was chunky. That was the worst part. So I could taste AND smell nasty subway vomit and I couldn't stop myself from heaving for even a second, not even when I was just dry heaving (which was painful).
Once I was done, I rinsed with mouthwash to get rid of the taste and went to lay down again. A couple hours later I took some Pepto Bismol to help my stomach. Bad idea.
I ended up vomiting pepto-pink goo a little later. It didn't come out my nose that time, thank God. I have this sensitivity to vomit. If I see it, I start gagging. So imagine what it was like for me to have my face in a toilet bowl of my OWN vomit. I couldn't stop heaving because of it.
I spent the whole night tossing and turning, curled up on the bed with shakes and shivers and sore muscles. I had to call into work this morning because I just wanted to get some sleep. I'm super nervous. I've only been working there three weeks and calling in is a bad move, but I'd rather not puke on a photo order and make it worse. Hopefully they can function without me.
Love,
Champ

Gotta Love The Block Feature...
General | Posted 15 years ago...so people can get in the last word and block someone before response so they can look oh so big and strong!
I think it's hilarious. I laugh whenever someone blocks me in mid-conversation, either here or on Deviantart. Especially if I'm just trying to have a casual (or what I see as casual) debate with someone and they flip shit and get defensive and finger-bang the block feature until it can't walk straight anymore.
In my opinion, if you can't handle the drama, stay off the internet...or don't start it in the first place.

My Dog...
General | Posted 15 years ago...seems to be doing just fine now. The vet bill was only $100 and I THINK I have that much without sacrificing my rent...I think. We'll have to see :c
Shit...then there's the internet bill. I think I'm gonna be using my little bit of emergency savings. At LEAST I have a job now so it's not as frantic as it was when I was unemployed. I get my first paycheck on the 6th! I'm so excited.

The Joy Of Owning Dogs...
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, my big guy, Bowser, swallowed down a rib bone. A smallish one about 3-4 inches long, maybe a little less than half an inch thick. We think he crunched it up first because we heard crunching noises.
Took him to the vet (which cost $100 in itself) for a check up. She said to keep monitoring him and report any abnormal behavior including vomit, runny stool or lack of stool altogether (indicating blockage).
We gave him several pieces of bread to help bind any edges before we took him in and the vet said that was a good move. My neighbor (who drove
and me because we had been doing some celebratory drinking when this happened) told us a comforting story of when her dog ate a rib bone when he was just a puppy and he passed it alright.
I just hope this goes over without any complications. Surgery to remove blockage will be very costly. At least I have a job now!

Sometimes...
General | Posted 15 years ago...I get into arguments with people and I think they will be interesting and amusing...then the TL;DR comments start and I get bored.
That ever happen to you?

I Don't Toast My Bagels...
General | Posted 15 years ago...I just slather cream cheese on them and devour.
On another note, I have a question for you all:
How would you like to keep up to date with my art life? Such as commission progress, updates and information, general art updates, things I'm doing in my life that concern art or creativity in some way with perhaps a bit of personal nonsense thrown in there from time to time...?
Keep in mine it will not be used to give you EXACT updates on who's commission I'm working on or whatever...but it will just be info about commissions in general, or projects I'm working on or occasionally some updates to explain why commissions are slow or what-not.
An art account somewhere. I'm pondering doing it either on FaceBook or Twitter (though I hate Twitter)...which one do you guys think would be more effective and easier to keep up with? Those of you who DO use Twitter please lemme know why it's so great and I might be persuaded.
Also, still pondering a user name. I'll probably just be gay and go with "Ace Champford" or something.
