8 facts about Chances

2. Post 8 facts about your character.
3. Tag 8 other characters.
4. Post their names along with their creators' avatars.
Let's start!
1. Chances was born in Everquest 2 as a Ratonga, an alt character for darker / adult stories. Quickly he developed into a full blown character shortly after, even though his backstory springboarded off another character's.
2. Chances was never meant to be a fur or a fursnoa, simply a character in the Norrathian Universe. After preserving him in EQ2, he slowly became a fursona, and a line was drawn between the character and the fursona.
3. Chances' real name is Burian.
4. Despite his hedonistic nature, Chances could be considered a Feminist. (Respects women, considers them equal, goes out of his way to ensure this is true.)
5. Chances never had an 'occupation' officially, ex-thief, street tough, bouncer for a RLD. Now more considered a drifter, finding place after place to stay. (Currently bumming out at
Jawbreaker 's bakery)
6. Chances has a soft spot for kids and tends to act like a 'big brother' around them, much to the chagrin of his usual tough-guy demeanor.
7. Chances has a horrible, horrible sweet tooth he cannot deny.
8. Chances' 'pauses' (heavy uses of ellipses) is by habit, not by nature. He just tends to be careful on what he says sometimes, so it comes off deliberate or calculated ... or sometimes outright apathetic.
Okay, okay, there, dirty little secrets. What? You were expecting raunchy stuff? Go here to ask for that: http://ask.fm/ChancesRat

Tom Clancy The Division review - Activation Pending, Agent
Posted 9 years agoFirst and foremost, it must be clarified that this is a MMO Loot Shooter. If this is something you're interested in, read on. If not, turn about, this is not the Tom Clancy game you're looking for.
Pros:
+ Visually Stunning game that actually runs well on lower systems
+ Plenty to do for the price, the map is pact with activities
+ Great appearance system that lets your look not be determined by your gear
+ Varied equipment, talents, and skills, opting for many varied builds and playstyles
+ Optional PVP in the Dark Zone, balanced for PvErs as well in mind, bringing a huge risk / reward angle
+ Dark Zone is OPTIONAL
+ Robust VOIP
Cons:
- MMO mission tropes, missions can get a little repetitive
- Online only. Even if you're running solo, you still need to be online
- Some features not well explained, Fast Travel glossed over
- Crafting is a bit meaningless, gear you find in the field often is still better than what you can make (Until you hit end game. Thanks, Z.)
- Limited character customization at the start outside of clothing.
- Glasses or accessories are pretty much glued to your character's face on creation.
Need more? Here's the meat.
The Division is by far a loot shooter, typically akin to Borderlands, the cover shooting mechanics of Gears of War, and slathered with a paint of Modern-Military Shooters. However, unlike most Tom Clancy games, this is far from your standard ultra-realism shooter you've come to expect. Headshots, while always putting down heavy bonus damage, are not instant kill, enemies can sometimes take a full mag to bring down, and loot, loot, loot, loot, loot.
Now that then bares the question: 'Then how's this a Tom Clancy game?' The answer is 'In Story Only', and even that's being debated. However, even if it was missing 'Tom Clancy' in its title, and simply was The Division, it would hardly change anything regarding this game.
Now performance-wise, this has been one of the better MMO launches I've seen in a long time, with only one 1.5 hour server downtime after the US launch, the servers have remained stable and near lag free since, save for a maintenance downtime here and there. While the game can be played solo, it will always carry an Online-Only requirement, which can be dropped points for many people, but so far it hasn't caused much of a detriment to the game. For its benefit, though, matchmaking is made rather easy, and the Dark Zone, a PvE with optional PVP element area, is a smooth transition from single play to online multiplay.
A make or brake in this game will be the PVP and how its implemented. At this time PVP is purely done in the Dark Zone, and it is known as 'Going Rogue'. In the Dark Zone, friendly fire is active (save against teammates), shooting or even killing another fellow Operative will cause you to go 'Rogue' a state that flags you for PVP for a set amount of time. If you scratch or accidentally hit your target, you get a warning. Significantly hit your target and harm them, you're flagged Rogue for 19 seconds. If you KILL the operative, you are flagged for 90 seconds. Now, from what I've seen in the community, accidents do happen, some chucklenut will run right in front of your shot. This happens, and thankfully clearing your name is as easy as a quick VOIP callout for a misfire. Most folks I've run into have stayed from their triggers if you do this, letting you run down your timer. However, this is not garunteed. Why? Here's where things get interesting. Going Rogue has lots of rewards, huge Dark Zone XP bonus, and a huge DZ Credit reward, very tempting, and rises with every kill. However, while Rogue, you are marked as a 'Free for All' target, meaning any and all players are fully legal to gun you down without consequence, and if they do, they get a bounty off your kill and a credit payout, as well as getting a shot of your loot (not equipped gear), and credits. Stay Rogue for too long, and you are marked for a Man Hunt, which puts you on the map for everyone, and gives them all the all clear to take you down. Massive risk reward, but that's the Dark Zone in a nutshell. There is no complete PVP yet, but there sounds like plans soon, so keep an ear to the wind.
Now, is The Division FUN? Again, everyone's milage may vary, but after pumping several hours into this game, I'm coming out with a definite yes. Gameplay is solid, enemies are engaging, and the gun play varies pending on your playstyle. Enemy AI is varied, when you start out, you face rioters, who arn't very bright ... standing out in the open to shoot at you, making poor times to run for cover, even trying to be brave and run up to your cover out in the open. But as the game progresses, you face far more intelegent foes, coming to the point of facing mercenaries, who will move, act, and strategize more efficiently, using tactics against you and your team. Apperance items, gun variation, skill sets, talents, loot, etc, etc. Its all here to make a solid Action MMO.
Second question: Is it worth the price tag? I'll be honest, I'd have prefered the cost at a sale, the Season Pass and DLC can be a bit pricey for most folks, but overall, the game is living up to the hype in its own way. Its not what a lot of folks expected, but it surely delivers in other ways.
In conclusion, The Division brings a great new game with an unexpected setup. Though Ubisoft was crystal clear on the context of what they were delivering, it still came as a mixed bag of some very good ideas, with a few undesirable assets still found in MMOs today.
Time to be activated, Agent.

XCOM 2 Review - Coil Me Up You Scaley Bitch!
Posted 9 years agoPosted from my Steam Account Review:
The short of it is that XCOM 2 is the successor XCOM: Enemy Unknown needed, though not without needing some spit n' polish.
Story was never the series strongest points, but they do give a creative twist at the start, changing up all you knew and did in the first games to really give perspective on your situation. However, don't expect superior writting. While the story about it is passable, it still rings loud with the script of a B-Class Sci-Fi movie, however, it does flow well with the game as you play.
The gameplay, however, is the real meat of the product, and from what I've seen, it's got quite a bit of juicy detail, though some of the game's features have been streamlined, for better or for worse, all rolled into a ball of Risk vs. Reward for your efforts. For starters, the general gameplay of squad tactics and turned based combat has not changed one bit. However, some new tricks have been tossed in to improve gripes from the last game. Gone are the missions where you start by inching forward with overwatch every few steps till you stumble on a pod and trigger them into cover. Unless a mission is designated loud, your team will always jump into a Concealed Mode, which makes them invisible to the enemy, letting you scout areas, set up ambushes, and prepare for your next step. Pods (term for enemy groups) won't scatter to cover upon revealing, however, now pods won't stick around and wait for you either. Pods now patrol maps carefully, and can walk up on your team if you're not careful. This can change your game plan dramatically, and let you start a faster approach at the start.
Timers are now a bigger thing in XCOM, as some missions will require you to complete the mission in a set number of turns. Often in short, fast paced missions. This can turn to a bit of a gripe for some players as they have become more prevalent. However, unlike claims I've heard, I've only run into so many, usually 40% of my missions are timed, the others stand with standard rules. This has been my personal experience though, and while, yes, I have lost missions to those timers, I can't say they are unfair. Your mileage may vary, but I found them tense, and sometimes enjoyable.
Maps now are procedurely generated now, so no more set locations for the 'best spot' for certain classes. This does, however, lend to unpredictable situations that can both make or break a strategy. However, on occasion, maps can end up in a whole 'guaranteed lose' situation, but that's the name of the game to the RNG gods.
The map system has also undergone an overhaul. Instead of rolling the clock waiting for things to happen, you'll be jumping point to point to access locations for supplies, intel, and other random rewards, while also juggling these matters with sudden alerts, guerrilla tactics, and 'Dark Events' variables thrown in at random that increase the difficulty, but can be countered selectively. Much like the panic attacks, you pick and chose a target for Dark Events, you can counter one, but you will have to survive through the others. On that same breath, Panic is gone, instead gauged by an overall gauge for an endgame event, once full, you have 20 days to drive it back down, or lose. Thankfully, watching countries and the Satellite rush are negated here. There are plenty of opportunities to drive back the end game event, but again, risk vs. reward, you may want to allow it to progress to gain benefits you really need.
Outside of gameplay there are a ton of features to toy with, with a large range of customization for your soldiers, to even creating pools of these characters folks can share, hire, and deploy; streamlined base building, though this can annoy folks, it does make planning out your constructions easier while working with limited resources; and lastly, being able to lock soldier's language to their country (though there are fewer voices than Enemy Unknown, but this may change).
Now the downsides. Sadly, out at launch XCOM2 was released poorly optimized. While I did get it to run well enough on my rig, there are FPS issues, as well as graphics matters that were not addressed immediately, but these will likely see patches in the weeks to come. Others may be put off by the jarring difficulty curve that comes from timers and enemies this time around compared to EU, you will be challenged, you will fail missions, and you will lose soldiers. There are also issues with collission and obstruction, enemies shooting through walls, and attacks landing where they really shouldn't can cause a lot of frustration. Lastly, the save game gripe from EU was never addressed, instead piling in tons of autosaves and other saves into one window, making it hard where you want to restore your game.
All negatives aside, the game has just launched and will likely see patches soon to address everything from optimization to obstruction mechanics. Give it a week or two.
All in all, after 30 hours in, I want to do more. With open modding support, hours of fun gameplay, and a lot more strategic thought, the game is definitely hitting up there among the top rated games of 2016 in my book. However, the difficulty curve and changes prove that Firaxis is looking for a specific niche of gamers, not for a broader audience.
In short: I highly recommend this game, but its not a game for everyone.

I Play Way too Many MMOs
Posted 10 years agoSo, it dawned on me during my sifting through my game collection, that I had a stack of games I gave no organization to, only to come to the realization: It was a stack of MMOs I've been playing and gave no certain dedication.
Everquest 2 (main)
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Guild Wars 2
WildStar
Star Trek Online
Champions Online
Blade & Soul (just installed, Jiwan server yet to have a verdict on it)
I need to start cutting losses as I don't have time for all of them. 2 maybe 3 to keep at most. Maybe it's time to get a feel of communities I should stick to. @.@
Suggestions? Thoughts? Tomatoes?

Fallout 4 - Rodent's Review
Posted 10 years agoSo Bethesda drops another in a beloved series and its time to see if its worth the Hype. So far, my verdict is ... Yes? While this is another solid addition to the series, there were many changes that could be a deal breaker for some, but to me, it was worth the wait. For all the hate going about and anger on expectations on what this game was going to deliver, I was rather pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.
Pros:
- Varied, beautiful world to explore.
- Combat feels more fluid.
- Voiced character (make or break for some, I'm loving it!)
- Story is decent, not gonna get an award, but enough to give a care.
- Building / Settling. Build one settlement, build many settlements, there's a fun micromanagement game there.
- Customized guns! Build your guns how you want it to your playstyle!
- Graphics are beautiful. Its hardware intense, but if you got the machine, you're in for a treat!
- The music is spot on for it, and much more dynamic. Rather than 'peaceful' and 'in combat', music moves between quiet and calm to building suspense to all out chaos!
Cons:
- 'Streamlined' Player Builds. SPECIAL is the cover all matter in the game. No more stats. I feel like this detracts from the game, but still doable.
- Inventory is abhorent. Filtering, handling all your junk is still a nightmare when you stop by any home location. Bethesda really needs to learn to make a better inventory system.
- Conversation choices have now been minimized. Interacting with others is rather lack luster now, feeling like you have A) Nice Answer, B) Be a Jerk Answer, C) Smartass Answer, D) Question?
- Bugs. Still bugs, but this is expected. Fixes will come. (Though thankfully not one crash yet)
- Certain skills are level locked, not stat locked. While this was common in Bethesda games, there was some poor choices, especially for crafting, that I think could be changed. (Waiting to lvl 39 to slap a silencer on my combat rifle is NOT worth it.)
Ignore the Metacritic bombing and Steam rage-haters. Take the game for a spin. Do bare in mind though I got a high end rig, so your milage may vary, a lot of the issues so far stem from performance. So if you're not quite hitting the highest recommendations, but squeezing as much as you can to Ultra, you may end up with crashes till they fix it.
Rig Specs for clarification:
5Gbs SSD + 2Tbs HDD
nVidia 980 GTX
Intel i7-5820K
16GB DDR5 RAM
Win 10 Home Premium
1k Watt PSU

What are you bloody waiting for?! Get this awesome show one more year!
I grew up on these, and couldn't stop side splitting each time they dropped the bomb on these horrible, horrible movies! Who can forget them ripping into 'Manos: Hands of Fate'?
If you don't know what Mystery Science Theater 3000 is, do yourself a huge favor and look up an episode or two!

Okay, I've gotten enough questions about the topic about why I don't accept or watch gaming streams or let's plays, but gladly will let someone watch me game at any time. I've repeated my answer enough times that I'm just gonna post it here. May need to copy the link for future use ... >.>
Everyone's got their taste in media, some like to watch, others love to listen, some prefer to be active, some prefer to follow along. Gaming has evolved to let all of this happen through Lets Play and Gaming Streams, which when it first started happening, it made no sense to me, thought it was a fad that'll pass. Now we got Twitch, You Tube celebrities from streaming games, and now in built broadcasting in Steam.
Now to the point, I'm not a fan of it. I find it boring, no offense to those that do enjoy it, that's your cup of tea, but me, watching someone play just rises the itch in me to go play my own games. I never really understood the hype, so please, if you offer me a stream link, or ask I watch, don't get offended if I politely decline. It's just not a fun time to me.
That said, on the flip side I've been surprised on several accounts to be asked for a broadcast. This often happens in Steam only as I don't have any major streaming software save one package I used for a different reason. I was a little weirded out, but today I'll shrug and click the accept. Doesn't slow down y performance so what the hell? Steam is weird though as I have no idea how to set the comment box aside so I can see what folks are yammering about while I play. Granted, that audience has been as far as 5 tops.
That said, I've made my point. I'm a fur gamer that prefers to play games, rather than watch. If you wanna watch me, send a request on STEAM or nudge me, but please understand my reluctance to link up to a stream or video myself.
Thanks for understanding.

October 15th, 2015! Great Scott!!
Posted 10 years agoWell the Back to The Future fan in me is squeezing at the date purely because I enjoyed the movies. However it makes you wonder how close the predictions were to today from the 1989 flick.
True:
Holograms - okay so we don't have Holo-sharks flapping around, but we are already doing that to celebrities and other media.
Future Glasses - Okay, not a funky, but we already have Google Glass.
Flat Screen TVs - Dead on the money, it's a standard now.
Hoverboards - Okay maybe not exactly like it but we already go prototypes around.
Video Conferencing - Skype anyone?
3D TV - Not as mainstream but we got em!
Autolacing Sneakers - Well not commercial wide, Nike did try to make these for the coming date.
Drones - Okay it's not walking the dog or cleaning the house, but commercial drones are here.
Not so True:
Robotics - While we got some nice advancements we don't have anything that advanced. The most sophisticated robot most houses have is a Roomba.
Fax Machines - Seriously, who has one of these dinosaurs anymore? These days you're more likely to be fired by text message than a fax.
Flying Cars - Where's my leveraging DeLoren? Hell, I'll settle for my civic to do that!
Not Sure Yet
Cubs win World Series - Up in the air, but gonna take a miracle if they do.

Oh sunnuvab*tch, Overkill!! (Payday 2 Rant)
Posted 10 years agoYou had one job! One! Job! And you dun f*cked it up!
Microtransactions?! Seriously?!
Okay, all seriousness aside, I admit I'm among the many players who felt this was a completely wrong way to go, and on the first day of Crimefest. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, afters wearing up an down there wouldn't be Microtransactions the whole time. Normally I wouldn't care if it was just cosmetics, like its supposed to state, but the fact these cosmetic add stats to the weapons they're added too leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Sure, they're minute additions, but that leaves no excuse, slippery slope to pay to win. Hopefully most players avoid this pile of stink like the plague to make a point, or at least Overkill gets the common sense to correct this mess pronto.
/rant off
Okay, that outta my system, it was a rather disappointing discovery on day 1 of Crimefest, but I'm hoping the rest is far more interesting. I'm gearing up and getting ready for more PayDay 2 action while poking my head into Warframe and EQ2 again. Catch you gamers around!

Street Fighter V - Yes another Update
Posted 10 years agoOkay, really shouldn't do this too often, but I was ecstatic to the news of another addition to the roster. Keep it up, and it'll be Street Fighter Alpha all over again.
Now goldielocks makes a return? I -loathed- her laugh and attitude, but damn she was fun to play and easy to get a hold of. Now she's back in action, gotta say, my interest in this game grows.

Diablo III - Season 4 AKA What the Hell Am I Doing?
Posted 10 years agoIt's upon us, and the gaming bitch collar is on...
That's right, dragged by
Zhaliz's leash, the rat is back in action in Diablo III, trying a class I never thought I'd try. Creaky knees and chicken heads, its Witch Doctor time. First time I play a squishie!
Catch me around if you're on the servers, I'll be busy puking frogs and making zombies to the Macarena!

Street Fighter V - Thoughts so Far
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so anyone who's gamed with me knows I'm a horrible Fighting Game bitch (love them to death but was never good at them). I was getting iffy on Street Fighter V, after the mix match that Street Fighter IV was. However, the lineup is starting to show some promise, and bringing me back to my days loving Street Fighter Alpha (loved that time in the series).
Now they did it again...
Mika is back!
Now I admit her voice in the past was annoying as hell, but damn she was fun to play. Looks like this time she brought a tag-partner, and it rather plays out well.
Though lets be honest, folks ... who's gonna voluntarily block THAT final combo?
I expect the cosplay images to come very shortly.

Updates n' Gaming
Posted 10 years agoAs you might guess, I'm -horrible- at keeping journals and the like. So if you're looking for updates on the rat, they tend to be few and far between, unless I'm bounding giddy to the keyboard to belch out some pearl of wisdom.
That said, on with the show.
Firstly, arts, yeah, more still coming, and I've been hunting for a few slots again, but finances and job kept me from getting opportune slots. Life happens, and gotta take care of myself first, but that said, I am looking for some new pieces for myself and with a few friends. Though the big thing is I'm feeling nostalgic, eager to get art done on some storied characters I made years ago from EQ2. Yes, getting that bug again, but more on that later. Now while a few fun ones to show off my gaming hobbies are fun, these are ones where it was more than a game, but a cherished story, and they deserve to be seen. So yeah, sorry folks, smut might be on the back burner for a bit, but there's still some in the works. (Well there went half my viewers)
So that aside, how's gaming going? Well as I mentioned earlier, I got the gaming bug. I have been, and perhaps will always be, an avid EverQuest 2 player. Nearly 11 years running with my ragtag gang of misfits and outcasts of Qeynos, The Vagabond Knights, its been a truly storied journey with them, and perhaps the one thing that keeps drawing me back, regardless how lame the game play is, or how repetitive the dungeons are, it is the RP community and the stories that keep dragging me back. This is not mere Tavern RP that keeps plaguing games with RP communities (got a huge beef with that), but actual -stories-, good vs. evil; development of character through tragedy, comedy, and suspense; triumph and loss through years of hardships and trials; and the heart strings tugged over the years as the characters make their place in this world. Everquest 2 made this strongly possible with the factional war, and yet allowing both to interact (at least on PVE servers), even now as the hay day of EQ2 has passed, the stories still live on, and often draw in more every day. So yes, the art will majority be on the faces I have written, a good fantasy artist and the like would be in my interest.
As for the rest of the gaming, whatever grabs my interest.
Zhaliz and I have been just bouncing from game to game that catches our interest. From Dying Light, Killing Floor 2, and whatever game we can get our hands on, though occasionally running off to my Fighting Games and Witcher III. Just wish I was into RTS as much as some of my other friends, keep trying and keep losing all interest shortly after.
PS. I was going to consider a Ask Me Anything a few times after some suggestions from friends, but instead I opted just for an Ask.Me account to make it easier. Figured it was better than spamming a journal.

One more candle and a trip around the sun. - May 21st
Posted 10 years ago32 years. How the he'll did I make it to 32 years?! A rat shoulda burned out by this point!
Okay, maybe not that big a deal, but by science predictions I was supposed to be getting my first cybernetic upgrade, damnit! Well, may not get my nanotech and cyber upgrades, but a helluva year coupled with a lotta progress, all thanks to some great friends keeping me somewhat sane over the year. From a full time job, to a relatively new car, and now even house hunting in Houston. Gotta say the whole thing has been a rush, and thanks to some great friends, I've settled well into the fandom.
Zhaliz getting me started on my commission streak and being a great sound board and gaming buddy.
glowybits for some great story writing and character development.
chaoscabbit for adopting a lonely rat as family in SL.
ami and
fireboy224 for being good friends and gaming buddies.

Posted 10 years agoI do not have enough free hours during work days. Witcher III demands much more attention than a few scant hours daily. Knew I shoulda called in sick.
In all seriousness my take so far has been nothing short of amazed, but I've barely grazed the start. I'll give a proper review when time allows. Don't play this game if you're just looking for a casual time kill, this game is going to require a little dedication.
As for my gaming buddies, don't worry, were still good for our other games.

Storied Characters, Commissions, and Gaming!
Posted 10 years agoReally need to update this more often...
So other than juggling life, work, and now a potential new house in the works, I've been a rather busy rat. Recently I've been on a bit of a commission binge, looking for and snagging up slots when I can, and still hunting. Though I'm enjoying the stories and 'entertaining' stuff I'm catching with friends, there's another angle I'm looking for.
I've had a long list of storied characters who are in dire need of an imaged representation, some of them have stories that I believe would do them justice to have a proper picture for them. Namely looking for artists familiar with Everquest 2 races, namely Iksar, Ratonga, even Sarnak. Eyes open, suggestions are definitely accepted (IMs only please, don't wanna spam the contents section). On top of that, I'm really getting an itch to show my gaming side again, from cosplay to just random antics I have with the PC, its high time a rat show how else he has fun these days.
On that note, I'm practically vibrating for Witcher III, I'll share my thoughts when it comes out and I had a time to play it. I had to personally cancel my preorder on STEAM just so I could get it from GOG to show full support for CD Projekt Red, so far writting the book on how a game developer should be, even for AAA games. Lets see if they sink or float from this next iteration. If they do, they're going to have a -lot- of bragging rights and a good bit to say to current AAA developers who seem to be having trouble. That said, tiding myself over with a short Binge of SWTOR with
Zhaliz as well as other games from my library while I wait.
Catch you all on the other end of the controller! And keep your eye open for more commissions on the way in the coming months.

Still Rattin' + Ori and the Blind Forest
Posted 10 years agoWell last few weeks have been as hectic as ever with work and all, but still alive and kicking in Houston! So far its mostly catching up with all the gaming I missed, as well as sinking back into Everquest 2 with my favorite guilds. However, that doesn't mean I'm skipping out on the PayDay 2 Spring Break event (New shotgun *drool*), as well as a few other bits here and there.
But the highlight of this week?
Ori and the Blind Forest, I'll be perfectly honest, this wasn't even a blip on my radar till the day it was released. The trailers were rather enticing, with the right tug of heartstrings, music, and art. However, we've seen this all before ... that was till I picked up the game (thanks to you Pale for getting it for me!) and gave it a go. The praise its been getting is earned, a good mix of ludicrously good art and music, good gameplay with an acceptable learning curve, and while light on story, it makes no apologies to tug on those heart strings.
The only way to describe it is Castlemania meets Super Meatboy. Constant action, but slowly learning new tricks just makes it all the more fun, while not overdosing on difficulty. You level up skills, you bound off walls, but the game manages to keep the pace to a level of difficulty you can enjoy without being frustratingly hard. With the music and the scene catching you at once, its hard not to ignore the work they put into this game ... well, when you're not trying to rebound off a wall and do an air slam into a projectile to send it back at the caster, only to land perfectly between two hazards. (*Raises a 10 on the landing*)
Seriously, even if you're just a casual gamer, give it a try. There are a few gripes, but over all, an enjoyable experience!

Commission Hunting / PC Busts
Posted 10 years agoWell, so much for the PC that Roared. Got a good rumble, great build, and choked...
The VGA card I got for it sadly had a wiring malfunction on it, causing it to spark and short out the PSU the moment it was installed. Thankfully, its the only thing that fried. So gonna run an RMA with the manufacturer to get that replaced. Miffed, but eh, this sorta thing happens.
As for what she's sporting now:
i7-5820K Processor
16 Gbs DDR4 RAM
500 GB SSD
2 TB HDD
1200w PSU
MSI GeForce 980 GTX (dead and being replaced, currently replaced by my old 670 GTX)
Dual Monitors
AZZA Hurrian-A PC Case
Sweet rig for what it does now, but the real joy was assembling it. Love putting PCs together from scratch, and this baby was worth it.
On the artist front, as you saw, I'm getting commissions in again and looking for some artists. Hopefully got a few things lined up for V-Day (mrrf >.<), so keep tuned, hopefully I'll be uploading some good ones.

The Computer That Roared
Posted 11 years agoIt is alive! IT IS ALIVE!! AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA-... *Gag* *Cough* ...ugh...
Anyways, just finished working on my new rig, if folks were wondering where I was. I had to overhaul a lot of it, but the real fun came into assembling this beast! Pics to follow later, but for now, I got a lot of configuring to do. Forgot that I needed to restore a previous image to my PC, thus needing to leave it cooking just a little while longer.

Rat BDSM Testing - Or: How Flexible ARE You?
Posted 11 years agoSo I just got dared (volunteered more like) to throw my honest opinions at another questionnaire site. Usually I don't give these things much credence, but eh, they can be fun. So far it looks pretty spot on for me, for once, but I'll let those who know me be the judge.

CRIMEFEST ... and some Borderlands on the side
Posted 11 years agoWell I know where I'm going to be this next week. As Overkill is doing their Crimefest yearly event, I'm actually rather excited for it. Usually 'game events' are often just shallow promotional garbage that teases a tidbit or two. I honestly can't say Crimefest is too different, save the sheer amount of freebies and awesome community love this game gets. So grab your masks and hit me up on Steam for the events!
So far been addicted to this game, especially with running with friends and furs who can communicate making these heists pure excitement. Also snagged a copy of PayDay: The Heist, I can see the improvements.
On that, though Borderlands: The Presequel came out recently ... and naturally I snagged it PURELY for the fact I could play as Claptrap! So if you can stand a team boosting rat-bot out there, gimme a shout! Love to make some noise .... eh... preferably with guns, though maybe some verbal nonsense too, but mostly guns.

Its been a wild few months with a new contract and a ton of game time dumped in my lap. A lot of it spent lately back in EverQuest II ... I swear, its like a bad habit, think you kick it and it comes right back. Granted, doesn't help AB had the best RP community and the game, despite its age, is still rather fun for me. Besides, how can you hate a game that has a playable rat race?! (I may be biased there)
Other than that, its been a mix of hunting potential commission artists while getting in game time for titles I still have in my Steam account ... not to mention a ton of fighting games I'm loving ever since they hit steam!
And finally, what's a rat to do to get a working team in PayDay 2?! Coop games are addicting to me, but PayDay 2 has just been an absolute blast. Not quite what I expected, really, but a ton of fun, especially with a team that knows what they're doing!
Anyways, more art comin', and a reference sheet I've so badly been in need of coming soon.
