Anniversary Week
General | Posted 12 years agoHey folks! Just letting ya know, if I don't seem to active or talkitive this week, it's because for the first time in a very long time, Eric & I are both taking a paid vacation week off together :) so needless to say, we've been keeping each other entertained & catching up on some alone-time together. I tell you what, it doesn't feel like 6 years, feels like so much less with everything we've been through.
Anyways, I'll holler at ya'll later next week! ;)

General | Posted 12 years agoGood news, my dear friends! General | Posted 12 years agoHello fur-peeps. Just wanted to let ya'll know I'm not dead nor have I quit FA or any of that shenanigans. Ever since hubby & I have moved into our new love nest, we're still organizing & tidying up around the place, thus I haven't touched my sketchbook since Lord knows when!!! When I have spare time, I may upload here & there, but just wanted to update ya'll that life is good & we couldn't be happier :)
By the way, thank ya'll for the birthday wishes & sending me good vibes & prayers! Hopefully, I'll update sometime this weekend!

Turning 24 today...
General | Posted 12 years agoIt seriously doesn't feel like I'm 24 today. It seems like ever since I turned 21, my years of being 22 and then 23 just disappeared. After 25, I'm gonna adopt my sister's age system. After she turned 25, she just started adding stars onto her age years after that. She's now 25+4 stars :P
But as my Dad use to tell me, you're only as old as you feel.

YCH Auctions?
General | Posted 13 years agoHey folks, I got a curious question. If I started a series of Your-Character-Here auctions, how many of you would seriously consider participating?
And not to sound hateful, but don't just leave comments like ,"Aw, I wish I cluld but (insert financisl excuse here.)" I'm flattered if you're sincerely interested but I've been seeing so many of these things going on, I figured I'd try a shot at it if any of ya'll ate GENUINELY interested.
Lemme know your 2 cents! :)

Slowly Looking Upwards
General | Posted 13 years agoDearest peeps & furs,
Sorry again for another long absence. I'm still slowly but surely taking baby steps out of my depression & getting back to normalcy. Great news though! Within just a week, Eric & I will be moving into our new apartment! The landlord's working on a few finishing touches & all we'll have to do is just get our utilities turned on :) I'll be able to have all my critters inside & not have to pay a cent more! And the rent's very affordable with it being just $300 a month!! WHOOOT!!! Again, it will still be a while before I upload what little work I've done but it's only because I've just been busy with the other great stuff, what with packing up & getting our nest ready :3
Seeya folks later!

Truly, Thank You All So Much!
General | Posted 13 years agoMy dear friends,
Thank you all so much for the kind words and advice you've given me during one of the hardest times for me in my life. I've been back to work since last week & slowly but surely healing the emptiness that was in my heart. Obviously, some days have been better than others but I'm trying to focus on all the good times I had with Dad and how much he still means the world to me. His physical form maybe gone, but truthfully, I still feel he's around me no matter what. If anything, I've had a couple of blessings occur in my life that I truly believe is thanks to my new Guardian Angel.
I was very fortunate to be with him during his last moments. Friday, December 21st, I had found out hospice was getting set up at my parents due to the dact his cancer had taken so a hold on his body tgat the doctors had given him 2 to 3 weeks. I went to go see him the next day and for the first time in months, he was finally sleeping really good. I would remember how the cancer had hurt him so much that he barely got an hour of sleep every night, and listening to his peaceful breathing as I watched him slumber was truly reassuring to me. However, as tge day progressed, my mother, my sister & I started to worry about the fact he hadn't awaken, thus we called the hospice nurse to check everything. As mom & sis stepped into another room, the nurse took his vitals, and that's when we knew...
We gathered around Dad, holding his hand as we held each other & said our final good-byes. His breathing wasn't labored, his face peaceful with no pain in his expression. It was truly a blessing he passed away as peacefully as he did, since I know others with lung cancer who weren't as fortunate.
It's taken me a while to heal but my Dad fought with evety bit of strength he had and held on for as long as he could for us. I know he wouldn't have wanted me to just wallow in mourning for him, but to continue living my life to the fullest and enjoying the things we had fun doing together, regardless if he's not there anymore.
My friends, hold your parents tight & tell them you love them. Your parents are human, and though they may not be perfect and make mistakes, they're still your parents. Cherish the time you have with them, because life is tragically so short and unexpected.
I love you, Dad. I will always be your baby girl & "#1 Buddy"!

The WHOLE Truth of my Absence
General | Posted 13 years agoMy dear friends,
For those of you that have noticed my absence, I've only told partial reasons as to why. However, due to saddening circumstances, I'll tell those of you who care as to the main and most important reason I've been away.
My dad's cancer condition has worsened severely. He has what is known as small cell carsinoma which has now spread into his liver. The docs have provided hospice care for my family because he's just not doing good...
The docs and nurses said 2 to 3 weeks, 4 if he's stubborn....
Guys, my dad has been the most important man in my life. He's had a rough life, been a war veteran, and has always been loving and supporting of me. I could not have asked for a better father. He's been struggling with this cancer since September 2011 and it seems this will be one fight he won't be victorious over. Thus, I have been trying to spend every moment I can with him and enjoying every precious moment I have left.
Keep us in your prayers & send us good vibes. We're going to need it.

Humanity & Gun Control
General | Posted 13 years agoAfter everything that has happened with the CT school shootings, of course, everyone's spouting off about gun control and who "if we did this ban, this wouldn't have happened, blah blah blah..." when only one thing needs to be kept in mind.
Whether you ban guns or not, human lives are fragile things and can end so easily. It's a sad fact of life, and whether you use a bullet or a blade, a life can be taken regardless.
While I am a gal who loves firearms and while I believe in my heart you should not be allowed to purchase automatic and/or assault rifles unless you have law enforcement/military background history, it still does not matter. Hell, in China, basically the same thing happened with a knife, so who's to say that only expert culinary chefs should be allowed to own sharp cutlery?
My heart bleeds and goes out those parents. I may not be a parent, but I shudder at the thought to think "What if my little cousins had been there? What if my best friend's daughter was there?"...
To think those parents will never pack another lunch...
never see that child's joy unwrapping their Christmas presents...
never see their kids bring home their first boyfriend/girlfriend...
never see those children graduate...
...
Never hold them & say how much they love again...
I remember when my sister & I were young and how our parents would kiss & hug us good-bye and wish us to have a good day at school, a place that's supposed to be safe, fun, & educational. I would never forget how excited sis & I would be when our parents would tell us they could pick us up from school since we hated our school bus rides so much. Never again will I take those memories for granted...
Hold your children and cubs close to you, folks. Life is so short and so very precious, and the sad fact of today is that psychos are everywhere and do not discriminate when they want to take lives... Treasure every little moment.

Internet Hiatus
General | Posted 13 years agoJust an FYI, no, I'm not dead and I haven't quit FA :P
I'm taking a personal internet-vacation and just enjoying being away from the laptop for a while. Don't worry, my lovelies, once I get around to it, I'll scan a shit ton of work I've had stored away and upload it into one MEGA-upload.
Again, nothing personal, just enjoying being a recluse for a while.
ALSO, in random news and one big reason I've been away for a month is that October 27th marked a 5-year milestone for me & hubby. It still feels just like yesterday when I walked down that red carpet aisle :) Le sigh~ Eric's being spoiling me senseless with lil gifts such as hot steamy vampire movies & one kickass game I've waited on for YEARS, aka Resident Evil 6 = SO MUCH FUUUUN!!! And to wrap it up, an unexpected gift of sapphire jewelry that included a set of earrings, a necklace and gorgeous ring :) I'm a spoiled little lioness.
Again, I'll be back soon enough with a good bit of artwork to make up for my absence. Love ya guys and tah-tah for now!

Life Keeps On Getting Brighter!
General | Posted 13 years agoWhile life has thrown me some pretty rough obstacles in the last several years, I happily say that within about two weeks, Eric & I will finally be getting our very first apartment and what's so awesome about this place is that because it's privately owned, this means I can have all of my pets with me inside the house :) I know my dog, Alice, is ready to be an indoor pooch again and the ferrets are just dying to get out of their cage and scurry for hours like they use to!! I don't think Artemis & Eros will know any differences, but I'm just happy the apartment owner isn't a snake-hating-crazy paranoid igot :P
Another perk to this apartment is we'll actually GET TO PAINT THE ROOMS WHATEVER WE WANT!!!!!!! X3 I'm so super stoked about all this!!!!
Thank ya'll for sending out prayers and good vibes. They've certainly helped my spirits and life can only get better from here on out!!!

Good News about My Hubby!
General | Posted 13 years agoI wanted to share with you all that after doing some hard praying and searching for nearly 4 very tough years, my hubby finally managed to get a job last week! :D He's now a groomer assistant at the PetCo salon and he's SUPER excited about it! :) Who knows? Maybe if he's plays his cards right, he'll get to take lessons on how to be a groomer himself!! How awesome would that be!? X3 Not only to be a hair stylist but a pet groomer, too! :D And no, I wouldn't let him participate in that god awful reality show about grooming competitions on Animal Planet XP
Next Mission: Build up some money and claim a super nerdy awesome love nest of our own to call home!!! :3

Thank you FA :)
General | Posted 13 years agoI just want to take a second to say thanks to the FA mods/admins for the site improvement. I love the overall look and espeically the new privacy settings :) I very much appreciate the stuff ya'll do for us and I know ya'll deal with more complaints than anything, so I for one like the new changes!!!
The only thing left on my wish list from ya'll is a folder system to divide our submissions into to make our galleries a little more organized. That's literally the ONLY thing I miss from DA that I wish you guys could set up here :3
Keep up the great work!!!
PS: The banner is so cuuuuute!!! ^-^ I just want to snuggle that cute lil Ferrox!!

23rd Birthday, whoo-hoo
General | Posted 13 years agoAnother year has gone by and I'm now 23 years old. It feels kinda strange, considering I'm now the same age Eric was when we first started dating X3; Lordy...
I decided that after my 25th birthday, I'm going to adopt my sister's aging-system and just start putting a star after my age. Hers is 25 (three stars) and the funny thing is that she's told me she's almost forgotten how old she really is from using that system quite religiously :P
Here's how I decided to remember my birthday:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7881797/
:P
Here's some more random facts about the number 23:
1.) The first morse code transmission - "What hath God wrought?" - was from the Bible passage Numbers 23:23. In telegraphers code 23 means "break the line".
2.) The tilt of Earth’s axis is roughly 23 degrees.
3.) Humans have 23 vertebra running down the main part of their spines.
4.) The most frequent numbers in the Book of Revelations are 4 (the powerful beasts), 7(seven seals, seven churches, etc.), and 12 (12 apostles, etc.). 4+7+12=23
5.) In the movie Jeepers Creepers the creature gets to feed every 23 years for 23 days.
6.) (My personal favorite odd-ball fact) In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, within the first dungeon, a deku scrub states "The order is...2 3 1. Twenty-three is number one!" as a hint to defeating his brethren deeper in the dungeon.

Woman Customer: 10 people. We'll just take that round table of 5 over there.
(Said round table can only fit 5 maximum)
Restaurant Hostess: Since you'll have 10 peole, ma'm, I can offer you a much larger table here that can seat everyone in your party together, not to mention you'll easily have more room to see everyone and eat breakfast (shows table to customer)
Woman Customer: (sneering) No, I don't want that one. I want the round one.
(enter Man Customer)
Man Customer: Let's sit at this one since it's bigger.
Woman Customer: (looking at the table with disgust, refusing to sit down, and clearly upset)...

Woman Customer: Yes.
Man Customer:...Fine.
