Update
Posted a year agoIt's been awhile, everyone! Sorry for the lack of interactions, life has a funny way of kicking you in the balls so hard that you forget your own name sometimes.
One of the things I've quickly discovered is that when you make your art your job, it comes with a lot of roadblocks. Taxes, no vacation days, sudden expenses, it's honestly a lot of stress. But, none of that has turned me away from doing what I love, so there's that. As always, your continued support is gratifying. I'll include some links below where you can continue to support me if you so desire.
I'm planning on moving by the end of the year, which is ALWAYS an 'exciting' thing to do. But one of my plans is to invest in a 3d printer, as well as start learning how to model in 3d. If you do modeling like that, don't be surprised if I reach out for some help and guidance. I can't tell you how many times I've started and stopped trying to learn Blender, ZBrush, etc.
Sadly, that's all for the updates right now. I know, not much to truly talk about. But I'll do my best to become more active here, I promise!
LINKS FOR SUPPORT
I have a Patreon, which links to a Discord that is a growing community of wonderful people. There's always a conversation going on in there!
https://www.patreon.com/chaoscroc
I am still open for commissions! You can put in a form at the link below, and also check prices. Remember that all prices are per drawn character.

Or, if you wanna just throw money at me to be nice, try my KoFi!

(Apologies for the shilling, but as I said, doing my art as a job requires some sacrifices lol)

Reminder about Commissions
Posted 4 years agoSo a lot of you have messaged or noted me asking about when/if I'll open for commissions. Thing is, I AM open for them. However, this is also my fault because I forgot to tell you all HOW to get one. I'm super sorry about that, and will fix that right now!
I do commission streams every Saturday and Sunday on Picarto. And all of my prices and info are on a Google Form that is linked below it. Simply fill out a form, and submit it. I will then invoice everyone on Wednesday, and add you to the queue. And then you just wait for your name to pop up in the queue top spot, which is when I will draw it! Simple!
Now, there are two things to keep in mind. First, there is a bit of a wait time. I get a lot of commissions through my Patreon Discord, but I tend to get through the list quickly enough. A rough estimate would be anywhere between 2 weeks to a month, depending on the commissions before you.
The second thing is that, if you are not in the stream, all I will do is sketch it out. I will then try to contact you to let you see it and get approval. It will then be worked on offline. This is so I can keep moving along with the stream.

I hope to see you all there!

Concerning Commissions
Posted 6 years agoSo I've gotten a lot of questions about commissions lately. And, because of my honed ability to completely procrastinate replying to DMs, I decided to post a FAQ concerning them.
DO YOU STILL DO COMMISSIONS?
Yes. However, I tend to do them on the weekends, during streams. There's a form you can fill out, but you MUST be in the stream when your turn comes up. I tend to post the queue every Friday on my Patreon Discord (which I realize doesn't help those who aren't part of it).
WHY ONLY ON YOUR PATREON DISCORD?
Conveniance, mostly. I'm a lot less active on websites these days, and having everything on Discord is just easier. Plus, I don't have a job other than my art, so building up my Patreon for that is super important at this time.
WHAT ABOUT OFFLINE/OWED COMMISSIONS?
I'm slowly working on those. Currently, I'm in my last semester of college, so school is a top priority for me. Once that's done, I'll have a lot of time to get caught up and such. So don't worry, I'm working on offline/owed things, just as a slower pace at the moment.
I DON'T LIKE/USE PATREON/DISCORD, SO HOW DO I CONTACT YOU FOR A COMMISSION?
Sadly, those are currently the only options. I know some of you out there hate the idea of a 'paywall', but artists can't live off exposure, DA points, or thoughts and prayers. We need money to live, just like everyone else.
WILL YOU EVER OPEN UP FOR OFFLINE COMMISSIONS?
Yes, eventually. Once college is done, I'll have the time to do that. But not right now.
WHERE CAN I FIND YOU?

Been Awhile!
Posted 6 years agoHey guys. Whew! I'm really bad at updating things, aren't I? Things have been a bit busy lately, what with me going to college and all that.
So, for those of you that don't know, I've been running a Patreon and Discord for awhile now. It's turned into a fun little community full of joy, laughter, and....oh, who am I kidding! These people take every opportunity to poke fun at me! But hey, it's all in fun. And if you'd like to join in, it's only $2 a month! I'll slap a link below here for those interested.
https://www.patreon.com/chaoscroc
I'll also try and update more often, as I'm trying to take my commissions more seriously. That's not to say I haven't until now, but it's been more of a job these days than a hobby. And my end goal is to be able to make a living off it. I know it will be hard, but it's what I want to do. Hopefully you guys will wish me luck on that!

I'll be at FA United!
Posted 7 years agoWell, it's official. I'll be going to FA United this year! I won't have a table or anything, but I'll have a Croc/Neo Robia symbol attached to my backpack. Might even sit down somewhere and do some art for people! Hope to see some of you there!
Might be going to FA United
Posted 7 years agoI'm thinking of going to FA United this year. Might only be for a day, since it might be a little late to rent a room (unless someone else is going that wants to share one). So if you're going, let me know! We can all meet up and I'll do some doodling or something!
    Started a Patreon

*dusts off cobwebs*
Posted 9 years agoWow, it's been awhile, hasn't it?
I guess I should start by explaining why I left FA in the first place. I didn't agree with a lot of the decisions and policies that were put in place at the time, not to mention I let some of the drama back then get to me. So, yeah, like many others, I jumped ship and left the site.
So....why am I back?
Honestly? This is the only furry art site around that has the amount of traffic for it's genre. Plus, I'm getting a little bored of limiting myself to DeviantART and it's role-play happy kiddies. So, here I am, about to post art again.
But I want to make one thing specifically and plainly clear. I will not get caught up in anymore drama from this site. So please, don't come to me talking about what the admins said here or what a mod said there...I don't want no more part of it.
I just want to post art, and have people enjoy said art.

Moving Accounts
Posted 12 years agoWell, it's been a long time coming.
Now, before anyone accuses me of joining in on the current drama, let me just point out that this is just the latest in a string of reasons as to why I'm doing this. I've been on this site since 2006, and I've noticed ZERO improvements in the way things are handled here. Drama seems to creep up every few months, ranging from rape accusations to biased admins.
And then there's the anti-Sonic movements. All four of them in the past three years.
This latest incident is just what pushed me to do this. So, by Friday evening, I will be shutting down this account. I've already set up a Weasyl account, which I will link below. And no, I will not be reuploading everything from here on there. That would take a few...months. XD
I don't make this decision lightly. I had to think on this for a couple of days, to figure out if it's the right thing to do. And...it is.

Sherlock Season 1 Review
Posted 12 years agoFor a few months now, some of my friends have been going on and on about the series Sherlock, directed by Steven Moffat. And, unable to find a place online to watch it, I decided to purchase the DVD of Season One yesterday. I was a little disappointed at first that Season One only consisted of 3 episodes, until it was explained to me that each one is around 90 minutes long. So, I decided to take the plunge.
SPOILERS OF SEASON ONE PAST THIS POINT. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
A STUDY IN PINK
This, for me, was a really good starter. I was a little turned off by Sherlock's 'random' shenanigans at first, until I realized that they really weren't as random as I thought. They introduced John as some post-tramatic soldier, only for Sherlock to be the very cure he was looking for. As for the overall case, I really was NOT expecting the cabbie. That was an interesting twist. There was one problem I had, and I'll get into that when I get to the overall summary of my thoughts.
THE BLIND BANKER
For some reason, I found myself more interested in John's dating and job hunting rather than the actual case. That being said, the entire episode felt like I was watching one of those classic detective novels, which...I suppose is the point. There really wasn't any 'mystery' to it, as it was more about catching the culprit. I felt really bad for John, though. I can't recall if they mentioned this or not at the end, but I THINK he lost both his date AND his new job. Oh well. At least Sherlock gets to keep his companion.
THE GREAT GAME
This one was a MAJOR roller coaster of fun. Everything was about linking it all to the one mystery person, who turns out to be...Jim. I...can honestly say I did not see that coming. The fact that it linked back all the way to A Study In Pink was clever, but also leads into one of the things I was slightly disappointed in overall, which I will get to next. But, all in all, REALLY good episode. But GOD DAMN THE CLIFFHANGER!!
OVERALL THOUGHTS
My first entry into Sherlock has been a good one. I really like the pacing of the episodes. It's fast, but not rushed. The interactions between Sherlock and John are a riot at times, and frustrating at others. Apparently a running gag is that everything thinks the two are gay lovers, which is chuckle-worthy.
That being said, I did find a couple of things I was disappointed with. I will seperate it into two sections, for easier reading.
1. The entire thing seems to be about showing that, when Sherlock gets bored, people die. Maybe not by his own hand, but there's something about that which seems a bit...unrealistic, I guess? I understand he's bored of the mundane, day-to-day things, but seriously? It takes a mysterious murder to get you to smile? That's not just odd, it's downright creepy.
2. It's all Moriarty. As in, every single thing that's happened is because of him. I...I'm sorry, but I can't buy that. I may not have read every single Sherlock Holmes novel, but I THINK there were a few cases which had nothing to do with the guy. So far, everything has been because he caused it. That seems a bit silly, to be honest.
With those two things aside, I really do like the series. It's clever, witty, and it makes a person think. Which I suppose is the point of it all, really. Learn to observe what others won't. I'm hooked, and can't wait to buy Season 2.
Oh, and Donovan is a bitch. =D

An Explaination
Posted 12 years agoOkay, so...now that my little tantrum is over, I guess I should explainw hat brought it on.
For starters, I doubt I need to explain to everyone why it's hard for me to do commissions sometimes. For those of you who don't know, it's called ADD. Not saying that's the TOTAL reason, but it's part of it. The reason I stopped taking offline commissions, and only doing them during streams, was so I could do the art right then and there, and not have people waiting a long time to see their pictures.
And...it slapped me across the face last Sunday that I've failed in that. There are STILL people waiting for their art. My plan didn't work, and I was back to square one. What followed after that dawning was a lot of crying, throwing things across the room, and thoughts of getting into my car and driving off the nearest ravine. I won't lie, I was in a VERY dark place.
I did eventually calm myself down and think things through, but it was still a scary place. Even talking to my closest friends seemed to depress me. I couldn't even go into streams and watch others draw without wanting to log off and down a bottle of pills. I managed to cool off, and sort things out in my head.
I realize that I owe some of you pictures. And I'm deeply sorry. Every single day, I end up thinking about how much some of you must think of me as the worst human being on the internet. Maybe you have every right to. I'm not perfect, nor do I claim to be. All I am is a guy who happens to be able to draw things. Mistakes have happened in my life. Some, I regret. Others, I don't. But the fact remains that I'm not as strong as most of you think. I hide a lot of my emotions behind a mask of happiness and glass-half-full attitude.
A lot of you are going to read this and think "Okay, great. But when are you going to stream again?" "When can I get my commissions?" And I don't blame you for thinking that. Sadly, I have no choice but to do commission streams, as my part-time job isn't enough to meet the bills I have to pay. So those will start back up soon. However, to the people that I owe artwork to, I haven't forgotten. Those WILL be worked on. It just means that I have to put my personal pictures on hold until then.
Again, I'm sorry for the tantrum I had. These flare up every now and then, but this last one was...severe. I don't make it a habit of posting depressing journals.

No More Commission Streams
Posted 12 years agoAt least for awhile, I will not be doing commission streams. I may or may not do normal streams, but that's up in the air as well. I have a lot of things I need to sort mentally, and am on the verge of a mental breakdown. I'm not sure how much longer I can go before I totally lose it, so...I'm taking a break from a few things.
Might also be spending a lot more time offline as well. And please, don't ask me for details on why I feel this way right now. I'd rather not air it out in public too much.

Penders Logic (rant)
Posted 12 years agoRight, I will no doubt get some flak for what I'm about to say, but this is my opinion, and I need to get it off my chest. So if there are any Penders supporters out there reading this, remember that this is my OPINION. You don't have to agree with it, and you don't even have to read it.
We good? Good. Moving on.
For those of you not in the know, I'll quickly summarize what this is about. Ken Penders was a writer for the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics. He wrote a good chunk of the issues, nearly from the start to around 150, I believe (I could be wrong on the exact number). Some months (year?) ago, he went to the US Copyright offices, and registered a large portion of the Archie Sonic characters he created for the comic under his name, and attempted to halt the release of a Knuckles Archive collection. Archie Comics, naturally, took him to court over it. The lawsuit has been a headache and a half, forcing Ian Flynn, current writer of the comics, to either write-out or just REMOVE a HUGE chunk of characters from the comic. The trial ended recently, the details of the results still not publicly known. But it's assumed Penders won.
Right. So, where do I begin with this?
Now, I'm no stranger to things like this. I seem to recall a similar incident involving Archie Comics and Dan DeCarlos, creator of Josie and the Pussycats, that happened a long, LONG time ago. So, yeah, I can't say that Archie Comics is completely innocent in this, nor would I ever suggest as such. During the late 80's and nearly all of the 90's. they made some TERRIBLE business decisions, and maybe this has an effect on the Penders thing.
HOWEVER!! What Penders is doing is nothing short of dickery. For starters, let's keep something in mind here. We're talking about characters created for Sonic the Hedgehog. Characters that share design elements with Knuckles, Tails, Sonic, Sally, and numerous others, that you can find for a dime a dozen on DeviantART. These characters follow Sega-styled designs. Which means....HI THERE SEGA!! What's that? I can't make money off of Tails-Ko because she's just Tails with massive tits on her chest?! So...yeah. WTF.
The man is claiming that characters like Robo-Robotnik (Robotnik as a robot) and Evil Sonic (Sonic with sunglasses and a leather coat) are HIS ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!! I mean....seriously?! You're pulling that? You're going to be like every other newbie Sonic fan, recolor Tails, name him something like DarkEmoPunk the Kitfoxune (and if that DOES exist, I'm going to throw myself off a cliff), and claim him as your totally original character? If that's the case, then....yeah! I could copyright Tails-Ko as my original character, couldn't I? Anyone else find this a bit stupid?
And to top it all off, after slapping Archie in the face, and forcing them to make painful, deep changes to the comic...what does he do? He muses over the idea of showing up at the Archie Comics panel at SDCC?! You want to show up to a panel filled with angry, stressed fans, not to mention the people you used to work with, after the bullshit this entire trial has caused? You, sir, fail to grasp reality, if you think they're going to let you do that.
Maybe he was in the right for trying to protect his creations, I won't fault him on that. But in doing so, he's not only destroyed a good chunk of the comic, but caused an entire fanbase to spit on his name. If I could make one suggestion to Penders, it would be this...
...stop. Just avoid conventions, avoid doing your little fan comic, and step away from the internet for a few months. I guarantee, if you try to go to conventions, or release your fan comic, you're going to get blasted, flamed, and trolled so hard, it'll make you rethink life in general. Now, granted, removing your characters was Archie's decision, and you had nothing to do with it. But you WERE the cause of it.
Rant Over.

Special Stream Event Soon
Posted 12 years agoThis coming weekend (June 8th and 9th), arcanis_solanum
arcanis_solanum jojo-uk and I will be hosting very special streams. Why, you ask? Well, it's for a special cause.

Despite the subject matter of what I draw, I absolutely hate rape in the real sense. I've had good friends suffer from it, and it's not fun. It's horrible, it's disgusting, and personally, I think anyone who does commit such a crime needs to be shot. Rape is NOT ok, and I refuse to listen to anyone try to defend it. All that being said, Joanne came up with a good idea. She wants to stream, and donate any money she gets towards the Rape Crisis Scotland.
I thought the idea was so good, that I decided to join in. So, this coming weekend, the two of us will be streaming. And whatever money we earn will be donated to that center, so that they can help others heal from such a traumatic event. I hope you'll join the two of us for this.
I'll edit the journal with specific times and links to the streams once we've decided on them. Even if you can't donate money, you're more than welcome to still tune in, and chat with us.

Important Journal
Posted 12 years agoOkay, so. I think it's time to come clean about a few things, and to discuss the future of commissions, streams, and other such things.
For starters, some of you might notice that it takes me awhile before I upload some of the pictures I do in my streams. Well, there's a couple of reasons that I'm going to touch on here. The first one is a simple one to understand (I hope). When I upload commissions, generally, only the one who commissioned it comments. I enjoy getting comments from people (except when they're silly RP comments. Those can burn in hell). Now, this is only natural, I understand. But at the same time, it does kind of make me a sad lizard. And it has the side effect of putting me off of uploading it. I realize this is unfair to the one who commissioned it, as it's not their fault. And I'm sorry for that. But it's how I feel.
The second reason is a more complicated one. I have ADD. I get distracted VERY easily, and forget things that are said to me as little as an hour before. (Joanne can confirm this, it's happened SO MANY TIMES WITH HER AND ME) So, generally, what happens is that I just plain outright forget to upload things. That's not really an excuse. It's more of an explaination.
Bottom line is this. I'm going to have a few new rules for things. This is so I feel a bit better about it all, and you guys can get your pictures in a decent amount of time.
1. All of the commissions will be uploaded to my DeviantART Stash. You can download them from that, and are free to repost them if you wish, as like as you mention that I did the linework. I will provide a link to it all via note.
2. Bare in mind that, in my streams, I do reserve the right to refuse or refund a commission, for reasons ranging from not liking the idea, to not liking the person the idea came from. I won't reveal which is the reason, just know that I can and will refuse/refund.
This goes into the commission streams. Now, before I go into details, know that I like doing commissions for all of you. But, I am running the risk of burning out with it. I know there's a lot of you that would love to see more of my personal ideas. So, this is how commission streams will go in the future.
Everything here WILL be put on the journal when I stream. Saying you didn't read it won't work as an excuse.
1. I will start the stream with taking 3 commissions from people. After I do those three, I will accept more if I feel like doing them.
2. DO NOT send the money until I get to you. This way, you won't feel like I'm ripping you off. Emergencies happen, and I don't want to hold onto money if I can't deliver the goods.
3. PLEASE make your commission requests as detailed as possible in the first note. Include references, details on what you want to be happening, and other such things. If you don't, I'll fill in the blanks myself. Which may or may not improve the picture.
4. I will do commissioned comic pages. However, they will be sketched ONLY in the stream, and inked offline. This is so I can get to other pinups.
5. Sequence pictures will be limited to 3 pinups per sequence. Same reason as the above rule.
If these seem a bit too strict, then it's because they are for your protection, just as much as my own. I promise, happier, cheerful journals are on the way. For now, I need to get business handled. So...yeah.

CALLING ALL CANADIAN WATCHERS!! I'm seeking something that only you people in the frozen north seem to be getting. At Toys'R'Us, there's a $50 item there called the Power Rangers Legacy Morpher. It's a die cast high quality version of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers morpher. And....it's only available in Canadian stores. If one of you could pick one up and ship it to me, I will repay you with either money or art.

What's New Pussycat?
Posted 13 years agoFirst off, thanks to everyone who either wished me a happy birthday, or gave me gifts. It means a lot to me, guys. Seriously. =)
Well, it's been awhile since I updated my journal, so...what's new with me? Where do I start?
The job's going alright, other than they've started cutting hours. I went from 35 hours a week to between 12-24, so that's not a good sign. But, according to a few of the managers there, I'm one of the hardest workers in that department, so they doubt I'll be laid off or fired.
Thanks to the awesome super-scheduling powers of scotskunk and
scotskunk and jojo-uk I'm now on a plan that, if I'm lucky and stick with it, will clear up my backlog by the middle or end of February. Once that huge weight is off my shoulders, I can start taking commissions again, but limited as to not cause such a huge backlog as before.

Finally, I'd like to make a personal request to all of you. PLEASE stop posting RP comments on my pictures. I get that your characters is Super-Hyper-God-Fruitcake-Dash the Hedgoxchida, and he's the savior of the universe, but I like to hear what you think of the picture, not of how your character bursts in and rescues the damsel in distress. I don't want to have to start hiding comments, but if it keeps up, I will. It's very annoying.
Anyways, HUGE art update to happen later tonight. PREPARE YOUR ART ANUS FOR VIOLATION!!!
