Okay first off:
I was at the apple store yesterday, and I was going to consider getting a tablet for my new macbook! But I wanted to wait out on it. I was just curious if anyone had any recommendations on what kind of tablet I should get.

Secondly:
Gosh I am behind on some of the PCA memes that have going on. I was considering doing the popularity meme, but I wanted to hold it off for a bit because I honestly don't think my characters are that well known enough yet to get any votes (Just my honest negative opinion, unless someone would say otherwise |D)

And Finally:
A Let's Play "Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX" has commenced! Check back every now and then all this week to see when I continue the epic saga. XD

Friday was my last day of school, which is pure awesomeness. And I just went to the tedious graduation ceremony. I'm glad I'm finally finished with high school. And as a graduation gift I got "Super Mario Galaxy 2" and a new Macbook Pro! The laptop is really cool and SMG2 is really fun so far.

Okay next thing, I really need to get back into drawing. I'm gonna break from my trial and error sketches to try do some regular pieces now. Here's some ideas of what I hope to draw:

~Updates~

Well I'm back into the swing of things with drawings. I want to thank my friends and the people who came to the stream, i'm definitely feeling better about my drawings again.

In other news I will still be going on with my "Trial and Error" sketches. I want a little more rough sketch practice before i return to my colored works. You can't be too careful.

When did you start drawing?
Well I guess around the 6th grade. That's when I evolved from poor doodles to actual drawing. It started out as backgrounds, then I began trying people. Of course I didn't become really serious about drawing until last year around September.

Which hand do you use for drawing?
My right hand. The only thing my left is good for is using a joystick or d-pad.

Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Honestly? Female. I noticed in my works I can make better curves than squares.

Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Probably long hair. I just let my pencil naturally flow down the paper.

Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Probably towards the right. My hand seems to move in a less restrained motion that way.

Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Oh good question. It really seems to depend on the character I draw. Otherwise, I'm mostly better at drawing a front view of the face.

What do you have problems in drawing?
Oh where do I start? Well I need more practice drawing the correct proportions that's for sure. And I guess my anatomy is kind of rusty.

What do you like to draw?
Pokemon, some general anthros (mostly of the avian variety).

Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I'm a traditional artist. It's my roots. I sketch, then retrace with ink. Afterwards I do lineart and coloring on the computer.

Where do you start drawing from?
The Head down. I do the usual circle (unless it's an odd species like blaziken), then construct a weak wireframe to get an idea for the body.

What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I guess I tend to unconciously make alot of drawings the same.

Any tips for coloring/shading?
Remember to not leave anything uncolored.

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
If it's a rough sketch, around 30 to an hour. If it's a full colored piece, about 1 to 3 hours (It really depends on if it's one character or a whole group and whether a background is present).

What music do you listen to while you draw?
Mostly glitchy sounding techno. I also listen to dubstep, breakcore, and hardstyle. As long as I'm listening to a genre of music I love.

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Well I think of alot of possibilities, but whether it's a good idea or not comes at random for me.

Your favorite drawing utensils?
A pencil and a thin, felt tip pen.

Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
hmm, I guess I seem to get away with drawing black alot. It's a very elegent color for clothing and some species.

Your favorite style(s)?
Anything stylish and can grab my attention really.

Are you satisfied with your current art?
Not really. I feel like I'm still in a developing stage of my work. I just have to keep drawing i guess.

What kind of artist are you aiming for?
Not truly sure. I guess I just want to attain some level of artistic ability where more than just a few people will truly take a liking to my work.

"Trial & Error" Sketches are still going on. But the uploading to FA will be a little less often.

I'm gonna be going through somewhat of a "Trial & Error" phase with my drawings. I will be doing sketches consisting of practicing poses, anatomy, and various pokemon species. They will remain in sketch form, and will go into my scraps. I'll also be keeping some sketches to myself, just in case some of them end up in complete failure. Once I'm satisfied with my abilities to draw poses, anatomy, and so forth, I'll return to my usual colored pieces.

That's about my previous weekend in a nutshell. XD

Well I'm back! Had a blast at the tournament. There were some really good players there, and I got a few great ideas of some stepmania packs to download. As for the side tournament I entered. Each song was accompanied by loads of very crazy modifiers (Modifiers are a bunch of weird effects that make the arrows scroll and behave in a very unusual way). There were 5 rounds of this tournament, each round with crazier and harder to read modifiers. I ended up getting eliminated at the 3rd round, thus placing as one of the final 8 players. All in all I had a very fun time there and, on a side note, connected with about 4 different pokewalkers there. I'll be posting some videos possibly tomorrow on the time I spent there.

I guess starring tomorrow I'll be resuming my usual routine. Drawing, chatting with my friends, going to school (Bleh), and just.... well, trying to catch up on things I missed at home.

Well for this weekend I'm gonna be heading off to Urbana, IL to attend an "In the Groove" (ITG) Tournament. For those who don't know, In the Groove is like DDR, but tons more challenging. ANYWAY, I hope it will be lots of fun and that I meet a lot of skilled players there. There will be a main tournament, which i hope to get video footage of, and a unique side tournament which I will probably register for. I'll be gone early tomorrow morning and return around Sunday evening.

Bleh, misfortune rains down on my life alot (Pessimism kicking in again). So apparently the office computer is doing abnormal things and needs repairs. The office computer, is what the scanner was hooked up to. Without it, I can't scan my drawings, which makes me unable to do lineart and/or coloring. I feel really guilty that I probably won't be able to do the requests on monday like I promised. My folks say it'll be only a few days, but my pessimistic outlook says it may take longer. But I want to make up for not being able to use my scanner for a while, so I'm opening up one more spot on the request journal.

The rules are pretty simple: Place one of your PCA characters in each of the Corps from the emotional spectrum and give a short reason why you think they would be there. There are no tagging rules, do so if you wish.

Blue Lantern: Xavier Zobel. At most times, nervous and unsure about his abilities in battle. But he always hopes that one day, he will be as strong and confident as his older sister.

Indigo Tribe: Anthony Rockswell. A very kind and upstanding young mon. Always assisting teachers, and giving struggling students a hand, Anthony fits this corp perfectly.

Star Sapphires: Katara Talongale. She may be clueless most times with her memory disorder, but she always show's love to her friends & family.

Well apparently my own computer is having a bunch of problems staying connected to the internet which means if I want to use the internet I now have to share the office computer with my folks, thereby cutting my online time. This may mean I'm going to be updating my FA page less frequently, chatting on my messengers less, and it may also mean I have to stop my livestreaming.

So... crap. On the upside I defeated Red in my HeartGold game (Well that was the day before this post but still), and I caught Lugia... with a Heavy Ball. I never knew one of Kurt's faulty pokeballs actually helped capture it (Had a bad experience in the past with Kurt's pokeballs). Anyway, I'm off to challenge the Elite Four again because I heard there was something different about them if you fufilled a certain event in the game.

Yesterday, I had alot of trouble drawing because I could not for the life of me draw a certain pokemon species, which put me in a stressed mood. I was considering making a new team, but I decided to abondon it since I couldn't draw the last member. So I guess I'll just be doing other PCA things with the characters I already have.

I've been hearing about the drama going on lately... And apparently I'm stuck in the middle. I've decided that I don't want to have anything to do with this business. Because siding with one friend means I'm siding against the other. And I don't want that.

It would be very lovely if people would just settle their differences and be friends again, but somehow that seems almost impossible.

Seing this everywhere, so why not? Although i have a quick reference to where my mons are from in their profiles I wanted to go into a little more detail here.

I played alot of ITG (ITG is like DDR only much more challenging) But i didn't really play anything else, so I didn't get any tickets for prizes (Sorry, Joshizard). Wha- I didn't even notice! It felt like there was still 2 days to go or something. I gotta do something for New Years! *collapses* But I'm still exhausted from my Blaziken Project... Lately it feels like I have more motivation and ideas than i do physical stamina. You know, looking back it feels like I have come a long way for some reason even though I didn't do much. It feels weird, but it makes me feel proud for some odd reason, like I got out of a rut that seemed endless...

Let's see what negative and positive things have happened for me this year...

-Negative- (This 1st because I am a Pessimistic S.O.B.)

- Early in the year, several friends on AIM and MSN turned on me and now they're not even on my buddy lists anymore, which whittled down my friends there to almost zero.

- I almost got into an accident in my Woods class because of there being way too much of what my Shop Teacher called "Grab-assing" from the other students.

- 5 times this year, my favorite arcade game "In the Groove 2" (DDR type game) was out of order. I really love to play this game when I want to toss my worries away.

+Positive+

+ I aced my Media Technology class with high praise from my teachers and classmates.

+ My Pokemon Type Meme and Blaziken Project was a big success according to all of the favs and comments I got on them, which made me feel accomplished and very proud of myself.

+ Around late September, I joined the PCA and got quickly accepted by the main site and other fellow members, which made me very happy.

When 2010 finally comes, I hope to make a bigger impression on the PCA, as well as improve my drawing skills in general, and of course make new friends on the way (maybe try and refill my AIM and MSN buddy lists).

I don't know why, but joining PCA was probably a very good decision for me. Maybe because I got to look at alot of awesome pokemon artists and make a lot of friends in the process...

EDIT: Well, its finally new years. I hope everyone starts 2010 off on the right foot and that they keep on doing what they love doing.
