MythoRealm Musings (Jack V. The Giant Realm) 2025-09-07
General | Posted 3 months agoIt’s been a while since I made another MythoRealm Musings post. Given how I was moving and stuff, I didn’t have the time to make a blog post like this. I got my bluetooth keyboard back and I have something new to bring to the table. This post could be seen as a sequel to the Giants and Kaiju post.
We all know the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, right? A boy and his mom living in financial ruin. The boy is sent to sell their cow for money to get them by. The boy meets a salesman who doesn’t give him an invitation to Squid Game but some magic beans. (If they did get an invitation to the Squid Game, we’d have a Park Yong-sik and Jang Geum-ja situation. Season 3 episode 1 was the saddest episode of the show. Come to think of it, I’d definitely watch an imaginary season of Squid Game where we replace all the humans with fantasy creatures.) He climbs the beanstalk to a giant’s castle, robs him blind and chops the beanstalk causing the giant grievous bodily harm.
I’ve written a concept for a hypothetical adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk. I KNOW! I know the story’s been adapted more times than we care to count. But it’s such a simple story with so much you can do with it. It’s like Little Red Riding Hood or The Wizard of Oz. A simple story that leaves a lot of room for worldbuilding and lore. I saw Jack the Giant Slayer 2013 on Netflix and thought the film was okay, the giants looked goofy. But that film was enough for me to look into the fairy tales in which the film originated its idea from.
I’ve also had to do multiple Google searches to decide on the time period in which Jack the Giant Killer took place, King Arthur’s reign. King Arthur was 15 when he pulled the sword from the stone. Born in 495 AD/CE, pulled the sword at 510 AD/CE, and died at 565 AD/CE at 70 years old. Keep in mind that these numbers are estimates so they could be off. Early history is pretty murky anyway.
I had the idea that the first half of the story tells the traditional story while the second half flips the script and tells an original story in the form of a courtroom drama. A group of giant knights uproot the town Jack lives in and take them back to the Giant Realm which I decided to make Jotunheimr from Norse Mythology. The giant of the story is suing Jack for 3 counts of robbery, attempted murder, and grievous bodily harm. I haven’t decided on a name for the giant yet. But for this post, I’ll just call him Blunderbore. Jack the Giant Killer reference. I accidentally stole the lawsuit idea from the courtroom scene from Rick and Morty season 1 episode “Meeseeks and Destroy.” Particularly the scene where the giant accidentally slips and kills himself and Rick and Morty were believed to have killed him. They only got off scot-free because a giant lawyer came in and successfully talked them out of prison on a technicality. If you watched Rick and Morty, you might understand where I’m coming from. I still let the courtroom idea stand because it’s just too good to throw away and I picture it at a much larger scale metaphorically and literally. One of those ideas where I forget where I saw it from and unknowingly recreate it.
Jack before he stole from Blunderbore has a history of thievery stealing food from places to help himself and his mom out. (Robin Hood won’t be around for another few centuries.) The other kids in his town only like him because he bribes them with a fraction of what he stole to keep quiet about it. The kids confessed now because their entire town is uprooted and they’re in court. All their parents are understandably mad because they let Jack get away with it and they could’ve prevented this or saw it coming.
I’ve written ideas for twists and turns like the fairy godmother who told Jack about his dead dad’s stolen stuff is actually his biological mother, Jack was sent to live with a human mother to hide him from a war with imps and fairies. Throughout Jack's teen years, he has chronic back pains which are a product of him growing wings in his back before they sprout out at adulthood. Fairy puberty! The only reason he was able to climb that beanstalk was because the fairy godmother cast a spell on him to neutralize the pain from the inner wing growth.
The magic beans were a product of a magician enchanting beans to help food production during a famine somewhere. The magical properties led to the beanstalks being bridges to different realms. Various wizards, witches, and magicians (Jack’s dad included) used them to go to various different realms. Including Jotunheimr.
Jack’s dad was a magician who was accidentally killed by Blunderbore. The giant only stole from him because he was guilty for accidentally killing him and took his body and stuff to make there be no evidence of his death. So Jack’s adoptive mom would resent Jack’s dad for “ditching” her and causing them to fall into financial ruin. But she would later feel like a jerk for hating him when she learns of the freak accident. She also didn’t have a good work ethic to begin with because Jack’s dad would bring back so much gold. I imagine Jack’s dad being portrayed by real world magician and comedian Justin Willman of Netflix’s Magic for Humans and Magic Prank Show.
There’s a giant lawyer working with Jack who’s Blunderbore’s neighbor and childhood friend, he has to decide between a small human he doesn’t know or his childhood friend. I’ll call him Cormoran. This is to give Jack someone to talk to and befriend aside from the fairy and the giant’s wife (the latter of whom turned on Jack because of the beanstalk chopdown). I feel like a supporting cast with Jack is needed because he can’t just think to himself the entire time. Cormoran is the one who teaches Jack that giants aren’t bad or any different from humans outside of size.
I picture the dynamic of Blunderbore and Cormoran as a Fred Flintstone to Barney Rubble relationship. (I know that show was based on the Honeymooners, but The Flintstones is where I’ll permanently remember this character dynamic from.) Life-long friends one is loudmouthed and ambitious while the other is good natured and would go along with his schemes. This court case could make or break their friendship.
Jack’s grandpa is revealed to be the late Jack the Giant Killer (The other Jack vs Giants story minus the beanstalk, he died of natural causes before this story), the giants will try to twist the lawsuit into his family being cold-blooded killers to their kind. The giants will act like they are doing the humans a favor by making an example of Jack. The only reason the current Jack never heard of him was because his dad moved his family away in case the giants wanted revenge.
With the info of Jack’s multiple acts of thievery and his family history, the giants will be gunning for the death penalty for Jack and his adoptive mom by proxy by being eaten by the giant plaintiff. When the giants say, “I’ll grind up their bones to make my bread.” They aren’t messing around.
The giants have attempted to live on Earth and make peace with the humans. But humans being humans, they freaked the f out and drove them away. The giants hurt by this decided to cut any beanstalks to their realm to cut ties with the humans. The imps from the war see this as an opportunity to use the giants’ bad history with humans as leverage to get them on their side to guarantee their victory against the fairies. Them joining the imps hinged on the lawsuit. Make the giants think that humanity is inherently bad/evil/weak. Meaning that if the giant won, they’d side with the imps and it’d be game over for the fairies, Jack, humanity, and the Earth.
The salesman will be revealed as a gryphon in a human meat suit. He worked for the fairies in the war but was kidnapped by the imps to be eaten by them. He only agreed to join the imps to save himself from being eaten. Much like how Peter Pettigrew betrayed the Potters to Voldemort to save himself from Voldemort. The salesman stole Jack’s wagon and cow and left him with the beans. Part of the imps’ plan to get the giants on their side. The imps knew they couldn’t beat the giants in a fight so they lied to them about having more power than they really do. Kinda like Hopper from A Bug’s Life where his power pretty much hinged on maintaining the illusion of power. All the imps in the war are low-level demons with not much power. Their end goal was to steal a realm outside of Hell that they can call their own. Using the power of lies and propaganda. Their empire’s built on an unstable foundation. The only reason the imps can hold their own in the war was because the weapons and magic they did have were stolen from other people.
It ends with the giants and Jack putting their differences aside to save the Earth from the reign of the imps. He would receive a pardon from the giants as a thanks for being a hero and would live with Blunderbore moving forward as they cleared things up between each other. I picture the ending of Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Jack’s house inside of the giant’s castle. Jack also has to work in his town to pay back for all his theft as punishment and his golden goose eggs don’t count. (To make sure he actually does his punishment and it sticks.) The kids who took bribes are also there but they don’t have to work as hard or long. Not an unfair punishment, as Jack shouldn’t have been stealing and the kids shouldn’t have taken bribes in the first place. Just because you do one big heroic feat, that doesn’t automatically null your history of wrongdoing. Jack accepts it with humility and dignity.
I’ve written down more stuff. But I’ll save that for another day. I do hope to turn this into something one day. Book, comic, or otherwise. I just wanted to get down on paper how I would do Jack and the Beanstalk. I don’t see this as a story of good and evil, I see it as a story of two people put against each other. Both of whom suck in their own ways and we see them get better throughout the story and unite against a bigger evil. Jack, a chronic thief, dealt a bad hand in life. Blunderbore, a giant that tried to live peacefully on Earth but was rejected by humanity. (Humanity’s rejection of giants is the reason why he eats humans.) In conclusion, this is a courtroom drama that got caught in the middle of a Lord of the Rings movie.
This post WON’T be in the creative commons because I hope to do something with these musings one day.

Bad News (Century of Sadness)
General | Posted 6 months agoThere's been complications with FireAlpaca SE. I can't open the program, and Steam wouldn't let me use it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FireAlpaca SE but it just wouldn't work. This is some very bad news for Century of Sadness. I used that for making the comic, now I can't complete the comic through there. I have sketches for several pages done. But the inking and coloring can't be done anymore. But thankfully, Krita still works okay, and it's been a good program for me and has more features than FireAlpaca. I've also been using it the past while to make comics and art.
So, the comic now delayed further. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. If I didn't have faith in it, I would've cut my losses and moved on. Firealpaca is now rendered unusable. Losing an art program used to make the comic and be enough to cripple production.
All the inking and coloring I did at this point is now down the drain. But thank the gods I still have the sketches, and I exported them before FireAlpaca stopped working for me. So, I don't have to start all over again If I had to, I would've given up on this right then and there. I'm gonna only focus on sketching the comic until all the pages are done moving forward. This'll leave some marks that'll take some time to recover. Pages 5-8 are now officially canceled from being released publicly early until I can sketch all the pages and finish them.
I got 15/52 pages sketches which just adds extra insult to injury.

Patreon and Ko-fi sketches announcement!
General | Posted 8 months agoI released the first 12 pages of my comic in sketch form!
The first 12 page sketches are on my Patreon and Ko-fi for monthly supporters.
The first 8 pages of my comic once they're finished will be free to read so you can have a preview. But for every page I finish after the first 8, they'll be released on Patreon and Ko-fi.
It's only $3 a month for sketches, behind the scenes, and early access. (Assuming I don't immediately drop whatever I finish publicly before these sites because I'm behind on my release deadline for them.)
Your support will be highly appreciated and you'll have your name on my posts and whatever I make as a way of saying thanks. The support you'll give will help me make more comics and turn being a comic artist into a full-time job.
The first 6 pages in sketch form are free because I had them released publicly for a while to show what the comic would look like and that it was being made.
WARNING: I post more BTS content on Patreon because Ko-fi doesn't allow me to do as much as Patreon. (Ko-fi doesn't allow for direct audio file posting that isn't just a link to somewhere or to share project files like BTS pictures and audio for download.)

MythoRealms Facts 2025-01-26 (+ Creepypasta Release Date)
General | Posted 10 months agoSo where do I start today? No comic once again and something else for YouTube. Guess it's time for me to start spitting facts again.
Let's start with something simple, Wolfgang Caverns from Kaden Caverns. I had no idea where this place would be located at for the longest time. The only thing I had in mind was it was in a forest area inside of a cave in America. I recently settled on it being in Oregon. Because it was one of the states closest to my home state and I watched some Portlandia a few years ago. The town is literally inside of a cavern system and underground.
Wolfgang Caverns is a place where pretty much the entire population is anthro cartoon animals/A-Norm animals, next to no humans. Magic is used in the caverns. They're also not a very intelligent town. I've written their schools to have very low standards to the point where you'd have to nuke a South American country to get in trouble. A place where if you're so dumb you get transferred there, you know you failed in terms of intelligence. One of my characters from MythoRealms at large, Gullet Gopher was transferred there. He's the son of the famous cartoon actor Glutton Gopher. (I've written as my version of the Tasmanian Devil and Cookie Monster) Gullet was part of a TV show called Small Simpleton Stories with a group of kids going on adventures to become the new age of cartoon stars. Gullet didn't have trouble in school then because he had all the help he needed for his mental defects. But when the show ended, so did his time with the special scholars. Thus, he was put back into normal school where he struggled for the rest of his academic career until he was transferred to Wolfgang Caverns. I've written him to eventually graduate at age 21.
I've created a group of angelic heroes who fight evil in space and throughout their respective universe and realms within said universe. Blue Angels and Diablos. Created by a biblically accurate angel known as Sylvarius, they spend their lives protecting others. These Blue Angels and Diablos are more commonly known together as Sylvarius Legions and legionnaires. (Got the name from DC's Legion of Superheroes) They're given Golden Halos or Horns with a blue glow from them, they grant them their powers. Once you were written into them, you were in. You could never remove yourself from them.
Legionnaires have a locked expiration date where you can't die unless you live until your expiration date or are somehow killed by magic capable of killing legionnaires. They live until their 100th birthday at the earliest or 300th birthday at the latest. How long they'll live for depends on their upbringing, species, family reputation, power level, religious background, and how the mortals would benefit from having them as a legionnaire in the long run.
Once your expiration date came, you'd fade away with your body seizing to be. Your time as a mortal and legionnaire would be judged by Sylvarius and his council to decide if you've been a good legionnaire or not. If you've been good, you'll be given any good eternal afterlife of your choice. You might be called on to return to the mortal realm if needed by the legion for emergencies. Once the emergency is resolved, you can return to your afterlife. But if you've been bad, you'll be sent to a version of Hell depending on your background. In MythoRealms, Hell is an endlessly large collection of many different realms of punishment and badness rather than one realm.
Wow, I didn't expect to unload as much as I did for Sylvarius Legions/Blue Angels and Diablos. I went with Diablos (Spanish word for devils) instead of Devils because Blue Devils were taken by a basketball team, football team, and music group. I have a thing where if I have a name and someone else beaten me to that name, the name I had before the realization is automatically off limits.
I think I should talk about what I've written about my version of Hell currently. It's a large collection of realms as everyone has their own definition of Hell and whoever's in charge of said Hell is more than happy to provide. Demons live in Hell, obviously. But they serve multiple purposes and live no differently from humans. (I never watched Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss. I haven't found them appealing and they don't accurately portray Hell as the bad place most people believe it is.)
I written a system where some demons and buy and sell souls of mortal sinners to torture however they see fit for as long as they want. Those souls are treated like toys, collectables, and trading cards. (Writing this out, I picture some of the worst people in the world kept in a museum so demons and watch them being endlessly punished. Kept and displayed like trading cards treated about as well as how Patrick Star treated that Mermaid Man card from that one episode of Spongebob.) These souls can also be used as slaves/free labor.
Some demons weren't born demons and originated as humans or mortals turned into demons. Some are demons because they were sinners in their lifetimes so they're turned into tortured punishers just as much prisoner as the souls they trade and play with. Some demons aren't being punished at all because they've been good in their lifetimes and decided willingly to become demons after their death. These demons can live a good life in Hell free of responsibility while some can get a job in Hell as a punisher or otherwise.
Demons and Angels are equals in MythoRealms. I've written good people living good afterlives in Hell because I want to show demons in a positive and even heroic light. (Todd Macfarlane did this with Spawn as a man who went to Hell for knowingly committing crimes against humanity as a mercenary until being killed. Then he gets turned into a hell spawn who fights bad guys.) Hell won't be entirely a bad place, it just hinges on how good of a person you've been and how you imagine it. (There's this one Stanley and His Monster comic where they go to Hell and Stanley uses his imagination to make Hell seem not as bad.) Some of Charcoal and Clawson's first friends are demons who act as their imaginary friends. They're not evil, but don't get confused, they still punish sinners.
Finally, the Creepypasta Coming Soon...
I plan to release a creepypasta narration video on Wednesday January 29th. I have a definite deadline for this. The video was already recorded a while ago through Twitch and I've cut most of the excess out. It's just a matter of trimming it down and editing the audio for the final product. Been sleeping on it for a while and I think it should be completed soon. (To iifinch, the author of the creepypasta I've read, sorry for taking so long to make the video. It'll be out very soon.)
This won't be the last creepypasta narration I'll do, I've collected a few links from online of creepypastas I should consider narrating. They won't move forward until I read them myself beforehand and am given the author's permission to read it. Any creepypasta I make moving forward will be read on Twitch which will also serve as a blooper reel.
Let's start with something simple, Wolfgang Caverns from Kaden Caverns. I had no idea where this place would be located at for the longest time.
MythoRealms Facts 2025-01-19
General | Posted 10 months agoI decided to post a few things about my comics like places, characters, or otherwise. I'm not sure when I'll touch them in my comics but I want to get the words out of my head in someway. I don't have another finished comic to post again, so this is the next best thing. (I'm also working on a creepypasta narration video, so my hands are full here.)
For one, there's a race/group of people in MythoRealms who possess abnormalities like powers, mutations, or otherwise. I call them A-Norms. (Abbreviation for Abnormal) I'm using this instead of superhero, mutant, or wizard because it's a more broader term. (I haven't worked out neurological differences in people, the A-Norm terms I've written to apply to physical abnormalities rather than social or mental abnormalities.)
Another thing I've written for A-Norms is a mental hospital called Gertrude McJean's Psychiatric Hospital for the Abnormal and Genetically-Engineered. Basically imagine Arkham Asylum from Batman and the X-Mansion from X-Men combined. The name for this mental hospital came from Dr. Seuss books. Gertrude is ripped from the bird character with the little feathered tail, I've only seen her in Seussical. McJean is one letter off from McBean, the guy who cons the Sneetches out of money to remove and attach the stars on their chests in their little race war.
Imaginary friends are real, circumstances on how you see them and how they interact with physical objects vary from person to person. One could see them but they can't touch physical objects, one imaginary friend could touch physical objects and has the power to pick and choose who gets to see them. Some would have the power to seemingly bend reality, ala Barney the Dinosaur, or at least manipulate your perception of reality. Some can also be seen by those who don't believe or have imaginary friends as if they're no different from real people. Kinda like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, where they exist in the real world and they can co-exist with humans. Imaginary friends are also based on real mortals' belief. At least one person has to believe they exist in order for them to exist. If you stop believing in them, they'll seize to be until someone starts believing in them again. Though, not all imaginary friends will disappear if you stop believing in them. (Though magic or believing in them for so long, they'll be permanently visible and physical. So depending on how much you believe in them, once you stop, they'll never disappear from the real world or your perception of the world again. Don't bother wishing them away anymore, we all tried that for years.)
I've written a fictional band of imaginary people turned real people by the population's belief in them. The Lovers of Colors. Writing this out makes me think that an auditorium would be filled with people hearing the band play while people who don't believe in them are confused with an audience listening to people that don't exist to them. The stage would be quiet and empty for those who don't believe. It'd be a hilarious concept! Reminds me of that Magic for Humans bit with the people who tricked this one guy into thinking he was actually invisible.
Some books in MythoRealms are fully fictional. But some like classic public domain books and fairy tales are real. Written by the authors to be biographical of the characters within, written before they happen like prophecies, or they're based on the adventures in this world but with a few differences between the book and real events. (Part of this idea of the book's events in this world being different from the events that happened for real in this world came from Disney films and Super Why.) I've so far written The Reluctant Dragon and Alice in Wonderland characters into the MythoRealms. But more public domain characters and original characters will show up in the coming times.
How can The Reluctant Dragon exist in the modern day when the originally story takes place in around medieval times? I've written him to be immortal or at least live for longer than the average human. So old age can't kill him like it can kill humans.
In conclusion, my writing and ideas are like those memes of my spiritual beliefs. Even though I'm not really a religious person or atheist. I just believe in what I want to believe.

General | Posted 11 months agoUpcoming Kaden Caverns Comic Strip
General | Posted 12 months agoMy next comic strip has its inking and flat colors finished. The only thing I want to get done before preparing it for release is giving this comic some shading. It's a 1-panel strip and it's scheduled to come out on Sunday. This one will also get a comic dub on the YouTube and Tik-Tok video releases. Since I got a bunch of views and likes on both sides thanks to the dub, it stands to reason that adding voice clips and sound effects to my comics is the next step to growing them. It's not the first time I did this, I had Charcoal have voice clips in the trailer for Charcoal Rabbit Tales: The Century of Sadness. But the last comic I released really got the ball rolling on that idea.
The comic once finished will be available to view on Patreon and Ko-fi through a subscription until Sunday. You'll also get access to sketches and behind the scenes content on whatever I decide to do. You don't have to sign up for these sites, but I'll appreciate your support if you do.
This next strip is set to be a Kaden Caverns strip featuring The Reluctant Dragon from one of the MythoRealm Strips I released some time ago and yes, both series exist together in the same world. Kaden Caverns is focused on a cavern in a forest called Wolfgang Forest/Caverns and MythoRealms is more anthology and connected to the world at large rather than one specific part. MythoRealms characters can appear in Charcoal Rabbit Tales and Kaden Caverns. But the characters from Charcoal Rabbit Tales and Kaden Caverns won't appear in MythoRealm Strips.

PSA regarding my online presence
General | Posted a year agoAfter that Facebook incident, I decided to lay out a list of social media I have as of 2024 I use/have. In case something happens or if any imposter surfaces. (Not saying that will happen, but you never know.)
Any social media not listed here in this post unless I say otherwise, I don’t have an account on.
I’m disowning my Discord account because of reports of hackers on the premises. If you see anyone with my name on there as of today, I’m not operating. Any discord account or server based on me or featuring my creations are unofficial.
I’m doing this to ensure my safety and to avoid confusion. The last thing I want is to be played like a fiddle or have others played like fiddles under the impression that they’re speaking to me. I’m not taking art commissions as of right now.
There’s only one Charcoal Rabbit internet user and there’s only gonna be one Charcoal Rabbit internet user as of today.
Just because I’m not using some of these at the moment doesn’t mean they aren’t mine.

Apologies everyone,
General | Posted a year agoApologies everyone, no comic strip today. I've been busy and haven't found the time to finish a strip.
Happy Labor Day Everyone!
General | Posted a year agoI've had my first cup of coffee in Arizona. I bought myself a box of 48 coffee capsules of vanilla coffee. I usually drink one cup per day so I have enough for nearly 7 weeks worth of coffee. You're now looking at a regular coffee drinking. Before this, I usually have coffee almost daily during the summer with a rule of one cup maximum to avoid health complications. Because coffee affects last for 4-6 hours so after one cup, I don't need more right away. If I'm up in the morning for more than an hour without coffee, I automatically don't need it. Drinking coffee the rest of the year is few and far between. The coffee I do get during that period is either from Starbucks or from a hotel during road trips/Disneyland. I would drink Starbucks coffee so fast to the point that during my final month of high school, I had a one minute timer run after every time I take a sip to slow myself down.
Yesterday, I dropped a comic strip. I hope to start doing weekly comic strips. I have multiple scripts for future strips in mind and written down, one of which is planned to release on Halloween. (Charcoal Rabbit Tales or Kaden Caverns) I hope to release 1 or at most 2 per week. My day of choice for releasing weekly comics is Sunday. I already have next week’s strip done and another one of my future strips had me draw a human character.
I've been posting my comic strips as short videos on Tik-Tok and YouTube and they've been performing pretty well with the recent 3 strips going into triple digits in the views. So I won't be slowing down anytime soon. Just drawing my comic book when I find the time, making weekly strips, and learning by doing.

Update 6-14-2023
General | Posted 2 years agoToday's been a very lazy day. I spent it listening to music. I watched The New Mutants (Based on the X-Men storyline of the same name. It's sad we didn't get Warlock in the movie he looks cool in the comics!) today (The first time) and rewatched Venom (2018). Even if Morbius was a dud, I'm looking forward to whatever Spider-Man character/villain Sony will turn into a movie. Like Kraven the Hunter, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Jackpot, Nightwatch/Nighteater, Madame Web, Hypno-Hustler, and El Muerto.
Had frozen pizza for dinner, t'was a very, "Okay, I guess," day.
Out of Context: Warlock in the original X-Men comics looks like a cartoon character. I can see why they didn't put him in the movie. (All their VFX budget went into the Smiley Men and Demon Bear) Magik was also in the movie and she's such a cool and attractive mutant. Magik was played by Anya Taylor-Joy who I first heard of from the Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023). I also find it sad that Fox's run on X-Men had to end when and on the note it did.
Images below are Warlock as he appeared in the comics and Magik as she appeared in The New Mutants film.

Update 6-13-2023
General | Posted 2 years agoDay two and I started to become afraid of the dirty spots here. Dad gave me 5 dollars to do the dishes, the kitchen felt gross. I felt like I was on TLC. It wasn't that bad, I like to picture some things better or worse to heighten the experience for myself and/or to make things sound cooler than it really was. Basically, I like to exaggerate, I'm a writer and exaggeration is something some writers like to do best. Simply put, saying something that's true but not completely true. I swept the floor and wiped the stove, I saw them as something dirty that needed to be dealt with now.
I can be a messy person sometimes, I might not care where things go and how I live. Otherwise, I might be very organized and orderly. But there's a difference between being messy and dirty. I didn't even care about the 5 dollars anymore, this was personal.
I'm so my mom right now.

Update 6-12-2023
General | Posted 2 years agoI'm currently on summer vacation at my dad's place in my hometown. I feel more free than I ever have been at my current home in the desert.
I won't be able to make digital art for a little while. Gonna have to make do with pen and colored pencils like old times. I have all the time in the world to write, draw, and create things for comics. I'm gonna try and post as much as I can to try and get a following online, within reason. (Not like I'll post every hour on the hour)
I have realistic expectations on this and I know it's not like I'll just become internet-famous overnight, those moments are rare. It seems to take days, weeks, months, or even years for someone to get their foot in.
But that doesn't mean I'll spend my entire summer vacation working on my writing and art, I'll watch a few movies and read some stuff.
Have a good night, everyone.

I saw the Super Mario Bros. Movie Today!
General | Posted 2 years agoI saw this in the theater and OMG! I found the film amazing! It had quotes from the games, tons of references to Nintendo games in and out of Mario, and the art style is not all the way there for Mario but close enough. I'm also happy with this being faithful to the games, but doing enough of its own thing to stand out. Jack Black as Bowser was amazing! I think Nintendo should hire him as a full-time speaking voice actor for Bowser! It also has a mid and after-credits scene.
Some of my complaints are not knowing Bowser's origin story, this movie using Aha's Take On Me in Kong's place (As much as I like the song, it's pretty much everywhere in movies nowadays to the point that it's kinda annoying.), the flip-flopping character development between DK and Mario (One minute they're against each other and the other they get together.), we only see Yoshis briefly, and Charles Martinet cameos here but not as Mario.
The movie currently has a 7.5 on IMDb and I think its success and fanfare are well deserved. Shigeru Miyamoto produced this film with Illumination and I think this movie was in good hands. Plus, the window is open for future films. They're considering a Donkey Kong spin-off and a Luigi's Mansion film.
What I want for a future installment is an adaptation of Yoshi's Island and/or maybe a Super Smash Bros. film. (I imagine Super Smash Bros. as a video game Avengers.)
I believe that Mario fans can now rest easy knowing that there exists an ACCURATE film adaptation of their favorite game that they can call their own.

Would you like to consider supporting my artwork?
General | Posted 2 years agoI subscribed to Deviantart's core program some time ago and posted pencil sketches with some behind the scenes videos for one of my vlogs on YouTube. I've been hoping to get backers for my work for a while now. This played a significant role in me pivoting my art style to the stuff I'm posting today, to make my art more viable to make a career out of.
By supporting me, there are a few ground rules.
As of right now, no commissioning artwork or requests! I have school currently, family, and I don't always have access to my desktop. (My desktop is the only way possible I can make digital artwork) I don't feel comfortable doing commissions afraid of forgetting orders and I don't think my art is high enough in quality to do commissions. (I might do commissions someday into the future, but most certainly not today)
By supporting me, your username will be written in the description of my artwork or projects. For example, if I make a video, anyone who helps fund it will have their name in the credits of the video and in the description. Basically, shouting out your name is my way of saying thanks for your support.
People who support me will be given access to final cuts of videos and finished artwork a week before I release them publicly.
Behind the Scenes content are also included, such as unedited videos, unedited audio recordings, pencil sketches, scripts, and project status updates.
This is what I have to give to anyone who's interested.
What will I do with the money I receive?
I'll use the money to buy equipment to make more stuff, use some of it for non-essentials, and to pay for stuff I might be using for these projects. (Like the Deviantart Core subscription so I can continue posting behind-the-scenes content and subscription-exclusive art here)
But it's not just Deviantart you can support me on, I also have a Patreon, Ko-fi, and the Fur Affinity Shiny system.
I would recommend subscribing to my Patreon because it was created first and I posted the most stuff on there.

Ko-fi:https://ko-fi.com/charcoalrabbitcompany
Fur Affinity:https://www.furaffinity.net/user/charcoalrabbit/
Even if you have nothing to give, taking the time to check out my work and/or letting people know about me is good enough.

Ko-fi and Fur Affinity tips (No Commissions)
General | Posted 3 years agoIt took me longer than I anticipated to make this happen. That extra time was spent with me thinking about how I should do this. (Especially with the new directions I'm taking for my art) I have a Patreon account but I'm keeping it private until I feel happy with my work going forward. I'm now officially open for donations. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I'm open for commissions! I currently don't feel comfortable being paid to create one thing for someone while having school and all. Doing simple donations because I still have hope and I think this is a comfortable way to start.
Donations are optional but can help me out for future endeavors. This social media content creation is still a hobby.
These places are open for donations, assuming you have accounts for one of these places. (I also post stuff on these platforms no differently from my other social media)

This should be all that I want to say and I wish all of you the best of luck.

Posting character bios on here.
General | Posted 3 years agoUnfortunately, I won't be able to post character bios of my characters here. There's nothing wrong with them, I might edit them to have additional info for every new thing or universe, similar to a fandom/wiki page. Don't want to create a new google doc to turn into a pdf for every time I add something to one particular character. It's too time-consuming of a process. Posting on DeviantArt only would have to suffice.
Rapid Charcoal Comix Issue 1 now available here!
General | Posted 3 years agoRereleased it from Deviantart and Newgrounds to here. I already released it as a PDF. But I now released it as individual images.
