Posted 2 weeks agoGot my PC Optimized and starting a Drive to help me get Debt Free once and for-all.
Gonna be starting to peel out on comms now that the tablet and all relating issues have been resolved.
...basically had to Lobotomize my new drawing tablet, kill the touch feature cause the glove went missing, turn off all the buttons on the pen, cut resolution down to half as clipstudio's layout would not scale to size.
Haven't been getting any sales for the new higher prices so I'm dropping back down to the $85 range for YCH's the High detail style was great but I guess people prefer the gritty rough and rushed job than the refined. 4-5 hour drawing time will return instead of 8-10 hr refinement. Other than that gonna be returning to my gauntlet style of work progress and thats Draw Till my hand hurts > pass out > Repeat cycle till I cleave through as much as I can.
Also opening up 2 Art Slave Slots for Friday and Saturday. 6hr's of drawing for $150 (Enough to cover 1 bill)
Can include: Up to 3 drawing that will basically be colored sketches as to be able to finish them completely
unless you want to go the doodle rout you can knock it down to as much that can get done in that time frame.

Posted 2 months agoI GOT FREAKING PORCH SNATCHED!!!
$900 Drawing tablet just taken before the notification that it was delivered it, was out. Amazon is sending another one so I'm having the post office hold it so I don't have a repeat problem. I was so FREAKING PUMPED for tonight thinking it would arrive only for it to get stolen. spent most of this morning studying the Artbook of the Bad Guys and picking up their styles and techniques only to have my whole mood shattered cause of this darn moment. 10 years on this block and it's the first time this has ever happened. It's not set to arrive till Monday so I'll be ready with the 2 new artbooks I got coming this week, the Bad Guys 2 Art book and now the Jamie Hewett (Gorillaz and Tank Girl Artist) art book. Hopefully can learn so neat tricks from em.

Posted 2 months agoWith the help from my brother, Risky. He has helped pay for a better drawing tablet since he noticed the significant drop in my work speed. I’ll be drawing booty and tiddy by the end of the week (Arrives Thursday).. its a HUION KAMVAS Pro 19 4K… WITH AN ARM! Having a supporting family is so good~

Posted 2 months agoWell it's been a LONG-LONG time since I've been burnt out from that oppressive job. I'll only go back if i'm neck deep in debt again and need to horde cash and be a sad boy. But I am returning back to freelancing and will be hammering away at all the owed art... but with way more skill than before. Studied Rizdraws for about 7 months and a few other anime artists to up my game to deliver bigger badder art. First thing to smite is anything and everything. Still need to pick up a few YCH's to handle the monthly bills. Will start posting the backlog of YCH's and poses.
Cutting out videogames entirely
Posted a year agoShits gotten PRETTY bad with coworkers peer-pressuring me to game with them that it's been killing my art drive the passed few months. Gonna cut them out to only playing on days off. Hoping back on comms after feeling renewed after a family vacation to Wichita. We had zero in-fighting and actually vibed for once. I made sure to always check boundaries which lead to better communication and less wandering off.
Only have 6-8 comms on FA left to drive through. a bunch of small YCH's left on twitter to crunch through. I really needed this vacation and just not think of drawing of 2 nights straight. (you know how it is... same day, same thing everyday can make a man dull.)
Once i'm done with comms ..I think i'll be done with drawing for other people. (Cept for the few peeps who's been constantly supporting me with positivity) Focus on learning animation and storyboarding so we can get some fun content.
Only have 6-8 comms on FA left to drive through. a bunch of small YCH's left on twitter to crunch through. I really needed this vacation and just not think of drawing of 2 nights straight. (you know how it is... same day, same thing everyday can make a man dull.)

Posted 2 years agoWith a Total of 27 drawings completed last month. almost one for EACH DAY!~
Picked up my old job again. It's only requirement is having legs and eyes so my drawing arms never come into jeopardy. I'll have about 6 hours a day to knock out 1 comm a work day. Not gonna be closing up indefinitely. But only taking comms when I need it. Only need like 2-3 right now just to tackle the monthly AMEX bill (First payday doesn't land till the 22nd). My days off will be actual days off from work and drawing. Currently they got me on a Wednesday and Thursday off cycle... but hopefully can return to my usual Mondays and Tuesdays off.
Just gonna keep my head down and widdle-away the queue and what I have left.
Once it's all done... the Queue is complete, I'm gonna focus on working out and playing Warcraft. only to place to get comms and work will be through Patreon and my now closed-to-the-publics customer server.

Posted 2 years agoAt the end of the week I'll be doing a re-haul of Patreon and will be focusing on "slowing down" on future works. Still gonna pump out the classic YCH style that takes me 2-3 hours per comm. But the next ones coming in the Redux will be having a Price increase and More Detailing. Pushing ALL that i've studied over the year to push a better product with even more limited spots. 2 per pose. (Excluding those already waiting)

Gonna drop another YCH Batch and one for the guys!~ I'll never get better at drawing guys unless I Practice, practice, PRACTICE! I mean you've ALL seen porn right.. you can have the hottest chick on the canvas but then you gotta look at Igor piping her... uh-hu.. naw.. no SIR-ie BOB! I don't' want that for my Art. I want HUNK, Twunks, Bears and Chads.. and the occasional Femboy and bean pole body types... yes maybe a select few short kings.. .

- October Comm Completion: 16!
Beating last month's score by 1 ...Adi did leave me feeling hollow and in tears.. but I got her ashes now and left a biscuit on her tray... Need to get her a respectable shelf and build a better ofrenda.
Have a Comic commission on hold to allow me to clear and collect enough commissions so i can focus on collecting funds to hold me over for 2-3 months.
Plan to work on commissions till I hit Burnout... usually lasts a week.

November:
Week 1: Defeat any and All YCH's left on the original Queue
Week 2: Work on sketching up ALL the Custom Commissions Traditionally: 20 Total
Week 3: Plow through them all:

December:
Week 1: Cooldown for 1 week of gaming and out of town trips. (Wichita for 2 Nights)
Week 2: Start the New Queue using Trello and start hoarding and micromanaging bills and savings for the Next Years Plans.
Week 3-4: Complete the YCH Redux and stocked up Patreon commissions up to it's completion and start Adding New Poses to the Archive.

Posted 2 years agoManaged to get a bunch of work done for a comic commission. Most of it was sketched out in one week.. gonna aim to get the last one sketched out tonight. I'll be uploading and posting what I got done so far in Scraps. I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. Staying on Model and maintaining great posing that isn't robotic or static. after they get sketched up I gotta power through a bunch of YCH's to scrape by for this month... got Amex and my electricity bill barkin' for me to pay them.
Oh yeah! ...and about sending out traditional drawings... Umm my family has stated not to have our address not to be disclosed anywhere.

Posted 2 years agoReally pushing off the slowcooker comms this last week. Got another hot-hot comic coming featuring my OC's in a Channel 69 news comm.
If I keep practicing comic comms, maybe one day i'll be able to deliver them as fast as roly.

Posted 2 years agoGot a client with a HUGE pile completed last week up to their custom commission which will require me doing quick sketch designs. They had about... 8 all together..
Now I am aiming to cut through as much as I can this week. and going back to my nightshift mode again. …10+ years of being a night owl will make sleeping terrible for me to try and maintain normie hours.
Quota for this week is 16 commissions completed.
Work Cycle: will be pretty Simple as I pick off from the Expedited Queue on my Patron Discord, The main queue and whoever is the newest + Patreon requests ...so I work on just about everybody.

Personal Projects:
Boob-chart Template: Have yet to start.. thinking of doing alot to it including layers for multiple hairstyles, species and bust sizes. they'll be a free version and a Purchasable version I'll plug in through a combined donation well. Hoping for at least a hundo' for the work.
Trades and Gift-Art Train: Gonna go back to baby steps on this.. one a week.
YCH Redux: Where I Redo ALL my YCH's with the improved skills I've gained over the years. (Alot of them had no bits or scenarios and blank faces so this will be uber great!)
Male YCH: It's been greenlit with a 75% approval rating on twitter. It'll help me get out of my comfort-zone and work on different body types.

Next years goals and future plans:
Financially: This year's MFF plans didn't go as planned... my savings went dry trying to give Adi anything to eat. Chicken breast got REAL expensive.. thinking of just raising hens myself if I didn't live in the 'urbs.
Health: Currently setting up a drive through the YCH Redux to improve my life.. aiming to get a rowing machine and begin my next arc... to get fit and pursue finding myself someone after taking care of everything financially and taking better care of myself. Also going back to frozen dinners and controlled eating through Lean Cuisine due to their Loyalty program.
Travels: The MAIN plan is to save enough for a 3 month vacation to japan (Using the whole VISA)… beginning in Sapporo, taking trains down to iconic locations from anime and historical areas from the Sengoku Period. Here is a good list of things I wanna experience.
Sapporo, Hokkaido: December- Mid-Month
- Soak in a Winter Onsen
- Go Skiing or Snowboarding
- Go to the Ramen Alley
- Master the taste notes of authentic Sapporo style ramen
- Sapporo City Tour
-Ride a Night train to Aomori
Aomori, Aomori Prefecture End of December
- Take Scenic pictures of Shrines, and historical sites.
- Check out the museums
- Stay at a Ryokan
- Taisho Roman Cafe(from Flying Witch Anime)

- Cheese Gyudon from Sukiya (Meme food.. check it out on Japanalysis)

- Check out the Ninja, Samurai and Sumo Tours
- Try some Wagyu Beef
- Take 1 Clear Picture of Mount Fuji

and a big comic comm too. so that's a big one!
Looking to get more done now that one of the biggest things causing me stress has came and went. Adi has sadly had to pass away do to her hitting stage 4 of congested heart disease. The hole in my heart will never be filled as this was the first german shepherd I was able to raise without needing to be a outside dog for guarding the yard, since Lobo and Lova... my first 2 GSD's. I made sure as sunshine that she was loved. Her condition had put me through so much stress... forced feedings, watching her waste away.... crying at my desk as I tried to work.
I probably won't get another dog till I have kids that want one themselves.
As for the Queue... It will be moving along as best as I can. I plan to have cram nights again.. so if you DM and I sound or respond weird.. it'll be cause of the lack of sleep most likely.

Posted 2 years agoCarving through the Queue as fast as I can while keeping any and all hand pains at bay aswell.. It's got me to about 2 comms a night. Picked up a few comms from repeat customers to satisfy the monthly bills.
Pet Update: Adi's health has been declining after being diagnosed with Congested Heart Disease. I have her on pills but it's getting harder and harder to get her to eat. Had to resort to feeding her forcefully. The condition causes her to build up fluid between her lungs and stomach causing harder breathing and the feeling of fullness.
Today I'm headed out of town but wanna stop by Petco to buy Adi some snacks, raised food bowls and a Ladder to get in my bed easier. If you wanna donate I got the Kofi link set up on the profile page. Any funds will go to giving Adi the best treats and snacks a dog could want.
I love my fur baby. my little Bubala, my precious stubborn babbu~

Posted 2 years agobeen getting back in the groove.. and I mean the workflow of Wake up- Draw -(hand hurt)- Power nap Wake up - DRAW - REPEAT
Should get everything moving smoothly in a day or two. and I mean just chucking drawings ... finished like... 15 drawings within the last 3 days (mostly simple designs)

Posted 2 years agoI'll be going full blast on commissions starting tomorrow, Retail wasn't really for me... who needs insurance anyways... Other countries offer help for cheaper than the deductible here.
July Update
Posted 2 years agoThe Birthday Crawl to Wichita was GREAT! ...one minor issue thanks to booking.com effin up the dates as I speed ran the purchase and it somehow set me for February of next year.. I'm down $400 until the refund is returned. But eh..
Temporary Job: GOOD NEWS! My hours are getting cut so now I can get more work done. If they let me just be a part timer and work only 3 times a week i'd be overjoyed. but 4 days is close enough.
The Queue: Knocked 3 names off the list. Which is great! Still chipping away at all the FA commissions to get them completed. along with the FA comms I'll be focusing on Patreon commissions.
PATREON: If you love stacking commissions over time at $15 a month (1 Full Size every 3 months) then I totally recommend Subbing to it. YOU GET MERCH TOO!
After this next month I put out the Nikovi T-Shirt.

Healthwise: Getting better at retaining awakeness so i'm not passed out the majority of the day. Cept for yesterday.. that was more a Recovery day. Arms are still tense and hope to buy a new and stronger massage gun... Looking into it Theragun is more a fancy gateway into stronger more powerful massage guns like HyperIce brand massagers. I got this generic one that does great but the battery is old and degrading.

Next Month I start collecting Materials to create a Multi-Lane Axe Throwing Trailer. Most ones I see built are simple 2-Lane targets but with engineering and craftmanship I can build a Better Foldout design that can set up 4 Lanes instead.

Just a lil slowdown
Posted 2 years agoBut yeh, just a lil slowdown. Last weekend was not so good. need to start conditioning my hands better... but all SUN-TUES my hands were bruised and sore to grip anything. but since they recovered i'll just be focusing on lining and stacking what I get done so I can focus on coloring them Sunday. Getting way more done than I did last month,,, that's for sure.

June Update!
Posted 2 years agoGot 9 commissions done and basically 3 clients off the queue. I'll upload what I got done recently.
Had absolutely zero personal drawings completed.. so that's a bummer.
Personal wise: had a binge of oversleeping that ate up a lot of productivity. Gonna need to take potshots and burn some points from wally world and dodge a day of work to really enjoy a good night of drawing. These last two days off really were painful as my hands were throbbing in pain but cleared up once i reintroduced more protein in my diet to help those sore muscles.
