I really am back! Just busy!
Posted 10 years agoAhahah I feel kinda bad because I had a short burst on here right after AC ! We moved to a bigger place this weekend, and as such, the past couple of weeks were taken over by massive amounts of packing and cleaning - and working. And then the move, then being tired, and now UNPACKING and working. So I haven't had much time or energy to draw.
And tonight, I can't even figure out where my pencil case of drawing tools went in this mess!! But I'll try to get back on it soon, I do owe some art after all!

Posted 11 years agoYea, I won't be there this year. I think most anyone who I would have seen knows this by now, but hey. Being that it was on the 4rth of July AGAIN I wasn't allowed to even put in a request for time off. I'm just gonna have to hope AC doesn't end up on the 4rth again next year (I admit I'm pretty bitter!).
Looking at some of the photos hovering around already makes me a bit sad.
However, I will live because work randomly gave me Friday and Saturday off! It's not NEARLY enough time to try and visit AC - 10 hr drive each way, which my car can't really do right now anyway. Gettin' old.
However the car can take me 3 hrs ssouth to NYC for the holiday to celebrate with friends, so, it's not all a bust. Between friends having fun at AC, AX, being together in NYC and pals having a BBQ up north it was gonna suck if I was stuck here working.
Anyways...idk, I'm babbling now.

Posted 11 years agoYes, thanks to AC being on July 4rth weekend yet again I will be unable to go. I already asked at work, no dice. It's not really work being unfair - I work in the bakery AND the seafood departments at a grocery store and holiday weekends mean high customer traffic, so between the two of them they will need all hands on deck.
I'm sad about this, and will especially miss my road trip with
ChainerPrime as that is always a highlight, seeing where we will stop along the way and talking about this and that.
I will also GREATLY miss seeing
Irime and all my other friends I see rarely or even ONLY ever at AC.
It is what it is though, and I'm not going to throw a fit about it. I will also still try to make badges to send with a friend who is willing to distribute them, because I really enjoy making badges for the theme each year.
Very sorry if I have disappointed anyone. Perhaps next year they won't do it on July 4rth again.

Posted 11 years agoEh, yea, you guys can laugh at me for trying to be part of the group that left FA for Weasyl. I do like Weasyl better and I think FA is run by morons...but I recently made friends who are on FA. And most didn't leave to begin with either.
Moving on, hi, how's everyone doin? I went to Fur the More a couple of weeks ago as a member of the staff. Just like year 1, year 2 was fun and had a nice atmosphere. There were quite a few people in attendance and like I said I met new people. I met them mostly due to being in the Staff & Sponsor Suite. Everyone I talked to was having fun.
I only wish the weather hadn't decided to swoop in that Sunday night, sending some furs home early so they would be safe.
I am already excited for next year, that's for sure.
The only thing that bothers me is there WERE times I felt a little lonely, and I kind of knew I would despite my efforts to try and fight it off mentally. Everyone seemed to have someone there at their side, whether it was a mate or close friend. And I had good friends there, HELL my best friend was there! But still, everyone seemed to have someone in a way but me. My boyfriend was not at the con, he's not a furry. It helped to talk online to one of my very special friends all weekend though (yes, my 'jailbait' lol).
But it's alright. It was just my head being stupid really. It become tiressome.
The day I returned home was exciting and stressful, it involved stopping in NYC for something fun but weirdness ensued. Despite it I ended up seeing the new Tiger and Bunny movie and seeing yet more friends.

Posted 11 years agoYes, this is in reference to the latest buzz, Dragoneer being a fucking sleazy piece of work as usual and hiring his rapist pal on staff.
I haven't been very active here and am now feeling very uneasy about being active here at all, but I do have friends here that I like to see updates and artwork from. I just don't have respect for Dragoneer plain and simple and on that principle alone I really shouldn't be on HIS site - as he has made it clear with this staff change, this is for him and not for us by a long shot. But hey, whatever.
Now that is has escalated and he seems to have forgotten that screencaps and evidence are a thing I just... :/
THis doesn't really mean I'll be moving to Weasyl or IB, since I have trouble really remembering to use art sites anymore and it's starting to not be worth it when you don't get a second glance. And I fail at that too, I don't really comment or favorite much, so what's the point when you barely give and barely receive?
So at this stage I don't know what I am doing for sure, just that I am further sickened by the bullshit on here and that someone like Dragoneer has any authority over anything, but the world is a fucked up place, what's new?

Post-AC Journal Just Cause
Posted 12 years agoSooo I just wanted to post something up here about AC. I had a fun time and was very happy to see my friends, though as usual I believe I spread myself a bit too thin so some people I don't think I gave enough quality time. Such is con life I guess, but it makes me miss people even more when I get back.
It was a good trip, once again and I made the trek from VT to Pittsburgh, only this year I ACTUALLY HELPED DRIVE LOL SINCE IT WAS MY CAR. ...Except I got sick at the con so poor Chainer had to drive most of the way back. Good ride though, always is.
I definitely wanted to post a BIG THANK YOU to folks that commissioned me. Really, it meant a lot. I don't have that much self confidence despite always trying very hard to improve, and I did much better than I expected this year. I mean, I cleared $100 in one day, which for ME is a big deal. So yes, thank you guys!
And I am working on said commishes! Trying to go in order and should be done all by the end of next week, this is including things commissioned both at and outside of AC.
I am a little worried though as I cannot seem to find one user who commissioned me. I will search a little harder though....
ANYWAY yadda yadda good year, glad to be home and resting though! Annnd...less than a month now til Otakon. Wheee!

AC Art Alley Spots + May Not Attend FF
Posted 12 years agoI know this is cramming 2 cons into one post and FF is far off, but...
1. I just checked the lottery results for AC art alley and I got in for both Friday and Saturday :) Whether or not I will do both days, we will see. I want to run around with people, but I also do get a lot of enjoyment sitting and drawing and it doesn't run too late either.
I guess the ideal thing to do is see if I get much of anything on Friday...I'm never sure what to expect, I'm surrounded by so many talented people but sometimes people still take an interest in me xD (hi, i am actually pretty intimidated in the art alley but i do it anyway?)
Ummm I saw some familiar names so if anyone might want to table with me just...tell me or something...
2. FurFright...I am thinking about not going. :/ Alclave couldn't get a room (as far as I know), and...honestly nowadays I prefer a room I am kinda in control of, for many reasons.
Also, Furfright once again falls a week before the VT anime con, which I will NOT cancel because it's a bit of a family visit thing too. Two cons within a week is a little tough, so with the bad timing and hotel stuff, I may just stay home that weekend. We shall see, though.

HOWEVER I spoke to my manager, told her there was money in it already so she sighed, said "you owe me!" and gave me back my days. So I have the Thursday - Monday off. I have to get rid of my Wednesday night on the hotel since I wont be using that but I'll be at the fucking con.
So yea. That's good xD I also didn't want to screw over my pals rooming/traveling with me...so glad I was able to get it back. I think I would have spent the whole weekend of AC sobbing if not just cause I wanna see so many people hahahaha.
Anyway right now I'm chilling in NJ with pals for AnimeNEXT aaaand SO MUCH TIGER AND BUNNY IT MAKES ME SMILE. Like...so many of us just hanging out and then I became the carpool car for the other T&Bers.

I have some time while work is giving me shit hours and I want to draw but don't always know what to draw. I know better than to even try offering commissions, so request-type pictures it is.

Scanner Question/Advice

I need a new printer-scanner combo thing, mine is messed up printing wise, it now refuses printing on anything but cardstock and has a tough time even then, plus the scanning OH GOD THE SCANNING it used to be okay but now it mauls colors, especially reds.
But idk what the hell they are.
Does anyone have any recs? I really need something that scans well since when I do an art its usually in traditional marker…

I have tried to ask at like Best Buy and stuff to get some maybe professional answers but I literally got “uuuhhh well this one is good i guess it’s alright *mumble*” each time -_-
I don’t even know how to SEARCH for a good scanner, apparently, because any reviews and stats I dig up focus on the printing quality.
Also, I'm not looking for something that's like $200...I mean I'm sure there are some pricey ass good scanners out there but I can't spend too much, like 150 tops prolly.

There were more attendees than we expected, the atmosphere was amazing, the hotel loved us, and as far as I'm concerned NO DRAMA.
Overall, just being there in the suite or walking the hallways gave me a good vibe. Fellow furs just seemed so HAPPY. I don't often feel this at cons. At furry cons and anime cons alike I usually have fun but you can feel this sort of, undercurrent of stress, at times agitation, and exhaustion from running around. Which isn't to say this con was stress free for everyone, Kit n' crew worked their asses off but...

I bought two commissions, both of Remedy (the peacock-tiger). Got to bump elbows with the GoH at a special dinner, Clockwise Creatures specifically, and they were so, so sweet, I felt really lucky sitting there and getting to talk to them. ...And I'm glad they didn't seem to judge me on my awkwardness of handling a fancy dinner like fff why so many forks OOH BALLS OF BUTTER!! Haha xD
Um, what else, pretty much what I got is gushing about the con. Lol. I'm not ashamed to admit I kind of had a tear rolling down my face at the closing ceremony. JUST THE ONE THOUGH.
My only 'regret'? I wish I'd drawn a couple more gift badges, buuut I have some post-con art specifically that I want to draw, so it's okay ^^
So, yes. Wonderful weekend. But hell do I miss and crew :( Ah well.
Next year I hope to staff again, I really want to continue being involved in this con even if it's just the littlest bit!

Posted 12 years agoMy trip started with awful luck - guess who left her apartment in PLENTY of time, with what would have been 30 minutes to spare, armed with GPS and everything packed the night before? ...Guess whose gps apparently decided on its own I wanted to be somewhere else entirely and made me late for my train aka making me miss it? GUESS WHO HAD TO SHELL OUT AN EXTRA 76 BUCKS FOR A TRAIN AN HOUR LATER.

I hope that is the end of the bad luck, I really just want to get to Baltimore with and others and get set up. I don't anticipate anything shitty happening, but then again I didn't anticipate it this morning either.
WELP. complaining aside I really am excited to go and see folks I rarely ever see, and be helpful overall at the con.
...I also can't wait to have a sushi bowl because Irime has mentioned them a few times now and made me drool. Lol.

I WANTED the courtyard but fuck I didn't even have a chance lol. It appeared for a split second.

To those with my number, please don't feel offended if you call and I pretty much never pick up. Aside from my phone being pay as you go (which means, I don't have unlimited calling, I pay for every minute), I'm not a huge fan of talking on the phone and mostly it just stresses me out. Plus, I really do feel busy most of the time so the sudden "social contact' when I'm focused on something else makes me all "no D:"
There are only a few people, and I mean like FAMILY and a couple of close friends I tend to pick up for, and please don't feel offended by not being in that group, it's tiny!
I do love texting though, so long as you do not send attachments and photos its all good.

I'm going to try, TRY, starting Dec 1st, to have a gift art up for someone on FA up every day ending on Christmas. Nothing complex, simple sketches/doodles, but...yea. Dunno if they'll be with pencil, or with tablet or if I'll vary it up but yea. I won't do them for anyone I'm already mailing cards and art to, but that's only a handful of people.
Aaaand second, I have been asked so here it is, a wishlist!
- There's this shot glass I saw at Spencers today that had a little rainbow cape and said "SUPER GAY!" and...well yea. I want that.
- This will sound silly but small...dollhouse props/accessories... xD I have these action figures and...WELL. They like to have stuff.
- Tigers, peacocks, and dragons - love them, love them ALL, so anything involving them is always good!
- I like cups and water bottles.

Since I guess it's not clear when I say it on FB: Stop doing that. Please! My phone is supposed to open pics, but it doesn't. It doesn't do a lot of things its supposed to do, the crappiest of tracfones. It sits there and eats phone units which costs me money, and in the end often claims it still can't retrieve the attachment.
Before I get any "omg get a real phone shit!"
...I don't really like to talk on the phone. You can get me to Skype if you're lucky. So no I'm not spending a lot of money on a phone and the inevitable contract for something I really won't use.

For those unaware someone created a new VT fur meet group while we...already have one, all because they weren't getting what they wanted from the main group from what I gather. Seems more like attention garnering "revenge" than anything, and will only serve to confuse people when we have two groups like this.
