General Commission Info Post
Posted 13 years agoI am open for commissions pretty much all the time. If you're not sure, please feel free to note me or email me! My email is ChibiSilverWings[at]gmail.com and it is ALWAYS the fastest way to get a hold of me.
GENERAL PRICE GUIDE:
Custom MLPs - $40-50
Mugs - $35-45 (require a box to ship, so shipping is 12 at the cheapest)
Cellcharms & Earrings - $10-25
General Sculptures – approx. $10 per inch of height per character (or length if it's a more horizontal design)
Full Chess Sets - $450-700
I make lots of other things, you tell me what you have in mind when you message me, and I'll give you a price quote.
SHIPPING:
Shipping is separate to the prices above. For MOST items I use the USPS first class without tracking and here are my common rates:
USA: $4
Anywhere else: $7
Custom Ponies have tracking, and use Priority Mail in the US and use First class mail internationally:
USA: $6
Anywhere else: $8
For larger orders and items with strange shapes, I work out shipping individually and will tell you in my price quote. If you want to upgrade shipping, that's fine, just bring it up with me, and we can work out the cost.
PROCESS:
You send me the form below filled out OR a longer email that includes all the details asked for on the form. I'll let you know the price range when I know what you want. I start the work as soon as I receive your payment, see "time frame" for how long I work. On a custom sculpture, pony, or chess set I will typically need 2-3 messages back and forth to work out details before I can give you a finalized price. I will provide ROUGH sketches for most orders, links to my previous works (if they will look similar), or I can work from your sketches, if you provide them.
TIME FRAME:
A normal commission takes about 2 weeks to finish and one week for me to put it in the mail. THUS you should expect 3 weeks for me to mail it. I am VERY strict to myself about this for normal, single-item orders. For larger orders the time varies, but I will give you a time frame in advance.
MATERIALS USED:
Everything I made is done by hand individually, most things are one of a kind and everything will have slight differences because I don't use molds. I use sculpey polymer clay, acrylic paints, sculpey glossy glaze and occasionally other implements to achieve certain effects. If you have some allergy or questions about what I'm using, please ask. I'm willing to branch out and use requested materials outside my usual materials, but please note that if it's something I don't already have, it will be added to your cost total.
ABILITY RANGE:
I've made: charms, earrings, necklaces, magnets, decorative sculptures, props, customized toys, chess sets, Christmas ornaments and more. If you aren't sure if it's something I can make, just ask. I will let you know if it's within my range and I won't take an order for something I don't think I'm capable of doing well. I specialize in sculptures under 4 inches and do most of my best work with creature type characters. Human characters are typically stylized, see my gallery for examples.
PAYMENT METHODS:
I take payment up front in US Dollars and very much prefer Paypal, or credit card via etsy. I have occasionally accepted other payments but that is rare. Any order 50 dollars or over I'm willing to negotiate a payment plan or payment half up front, half after the item is finished. I assure you that you will find no one who has ever been cheated by me out of getting their work made well and in a timely manner. RULES FOR ART TRADES:
I do take some art trades, if I'm not too busy with paid orders at the time. I have basically one big rule for them, that it needs to be done within a month, no exceptions if you're offering, I expect you to only offer an art trade when you feel like you have the time to complete it. Other than that it just depends on if I like the art style/object the person is offering. I encourage you to ask! I usually tend to not have good ideas of what to ask for from people who offer craft type things, so that's most often the reason I turn people down, but I love drawings and if you can draw humans, I'm very likely to say yes :3 I have lots of characters I'd love to get drawn.

PERSONAL POLICIES:
Please know these few things before you commission me:
- You are free to use the sculpture for whatever you'd like afterwards, take pictures of it, post it anywhere you want, just please say I made it if you post a photo of it somewhere!
- If for some reason your sculpture is lost in the mail, I will either refund you half the price of the item, OR remake the item and send it again with you covering only the shipping for the remade item. This applies to smaller items. If it's an order over 50 dollars, I will need to work it out with you individually.
- I will NOT give full refunds if you're not happy with the final results. I will however, offer to fix the item as best I can if something is wrong with it that can be changed without completely remaking it. I want you to be happy with the final product, so I'll do my best!
- This has very very rarely come up BUT I reserve the right to return your money and decline a commission for any reason. I will not take your money if I won't be doing the work, but in case of my feeling uncomfortable/unhappy with the piece, or for some other reason reason can't complete it, I will simply return your money and I ask you to please not badger me with questions or complaints after that. I really hate to have this happen, but I thank you for respecting me if it does.

ACEN Preorders/Birthday/Chess
Posted 13 years agoHi guys! It's been forever since I last updated you, I'm sorry for being so behind on posting here on FA. But yes, so here we go, some updates!
I want to thank anyone who I met/saw again at Shutocon! I was so floored by all the kind, friendly people who stopped by and the whole con was a great success for my fiancee and I :D
In other con news, as soon as I left Shutocon I found out we'd gotten into Anime Central's Artist Alley! Which is great news! But also pretty overwhelming news since I sold basically everything I had at Shutocon, figuring I wouldn't have another convention for about 3 more months. Now I have only a month to prepare for the second largest convention I go to! Yikes. Means I'll be VERY slow to respond to messages and comments, I'm sorry! I promise I still check them all and will respond to all of them, it just takes time! If you need me to see something faster, please note me, I read notes first.
In personal news, I have two big events coming up that I'm very excited about. April is my anniversary of getting together with my lovely fiancee, and we'll be celebrating by attending a performance of our favorite musical, Chess. We're having to travel quite a ways across the country to attend, but last time we went to a show of Chess we went all the way to London! I think we'll follow Chess anywhere! XD
After that, on April 18th is my birthday! Yay! My favorite time of year! I really love getting all my buddies together at least once a year, to be honest, it's rare that you get to have a larger gathering with pals after you don't have school anymore. Everyone is busy, I mean me too of course! I probably won't have any time to plan my usual party for me and my friends this year because I have to prepare for Anime Central, so that's a bit of a bummer, but that just means I'll have to save all my excitement and such for ACEN! I hope to see you guys there!
Oh and let me know if you want to preorder something for ACEN. That is, you order now, I make it in advance, and to save the shipping fee you can pay for it at the con (or paypal beforehand) and pick it up from my table! Let me know if any of you want to do that.

NOVEMBER/OCTOBER Art Trades/Weekly Livestream
Posted 14 years ago60 days, 100 (or more) sculptures. I did this last year and liked it a lot. I want to do it again. At least one sculpture everyday for two months. For me it's a perfect time to make some Christmas gifts, AND also in order to make sure I fill up the full 60 days I have TWO special offers.
First, DISCOUNT commissions! Anything small/simple is 15 or less, and my larger 3 inch sculptures and chess piece types are only 15-25! How can you pass that up?! Please remember you need to pay me to ship it and that's not included in the price!
The second offer to make sure I fill all the days: I will accept some art trades with a few rules.
RULES FOR ART TRADES:
- In return for a sculpture I REQUIRE a fully finished and colored drawing (or whatever your media is, it must be a finished work). Even my simple sculptures can take me 2-3 hours, some take up to 6 hours. I expect that you put your full effort and time into anything you plan to trade because I will be for my half. - I will be taking only 12 slots. Please feel free to leave a proposal in the comments, with a reference for your character and what you want to trade me. I'll pick out 6 for this month and 6 next month of them and we can work out details.
I have one other thing I'd be willing to trade for, a one year subscription to DA (or 2,396 Points). Only one person can trade this to me though, because I only need one year.

First, DISCOUNT commissions! Anything small/simple is 15 or less, and my larger 3 inch sculptures and chess piece types are only 15-25! How can you pass that up?! Please remember you need to pay me to ship it and that's not included in the price!
The second offer to make sure I fill all the days: I will accept some art trades with a few rules.
RULES FOR ART TRADES:
- In return for a sculpture I REQUIRE a fully finished and colored drawing (or whatever your media is, it must be a finished work). Well we got back from Anime Central late Sunday night and as you can see I've been housekeeping and getting all my commissions from the con posted. I now have several commissions to finish before this Saturday. Those will get posted as I finish them :D I want to say hi and thank you to all my new watchers too!
I've started adding a little watermark to my stuff just because I found out people have been posting them on tumblr (which is very nice! Thank you!) but not linking them to me (which is not so nice XD). So hopefully this will help people find me if they see my stuff out there on the internet. People are also asking me to have a signature of something on my sculptures. I'd like to make a "logo" design and possibly have a VERY SMALL metal stamp of it. Anyone out there know someone who does nice metal work? <b>There's a free commission (or just straight up payment) in it for you if you can make a stamp for me!</b>
Since things have been going pretty well on the convention front, my fiancee and I have decided to TRY to get into the Alleys of a few more conventions... Hoo boy. Better be getting my butt in gear to stock up for all of these! I'm trying my best to get 2-3 sculptures a day finished, though some days I spend a lot of the time doing administrative things like answering comments, sending emails/notes, updating, and editing photos to put up. Being your own boss is fun but it can be hard!

So I'm sorry to say that I won't sell any pieces from it, other than maybe one or two that I'm considering remaking to make sure I'm 100% happy with all the pieces. I DO plan to auction it off at some point. And I'm also considering trying to make at least one custom chess set a year. My next plan is an OKAMI CHESS SET suggested by a visitor to our table. I will be working on my piece choices and designs for that in a few weeks when I have less on my plate.
