A Return?
Posted 6 years agoI have not submitted in a very long time, but I have not spent the whole time since my last upload idle. I counted the number of pages of unsubmitted work recently and it is easily over 50 pages of writing. The trick is that is a little bit here, some there, a partially fleshed out idea here, or something of significant completion stuck at some block or another. Its much easier and fun to start something new after all.
I did walk away from this for awhile too, but I always came back and would write a little more here or there. Test out a new idea, so on. I never made much headway on really finishing anything though. I did the healthy thing and just didn't force it. And here we are.
For whatever reason, I have gotten the itch to write again, but specifically to finish off a few of the stories that just need a good push to send them over the line. I submitted one tonight and would love to get some more out in the coming months. Still not going to make any commitments, but I felt like it was worthwhile to post a journal to say these words all the same.
I don't read journals and I don't expect anyone to read this. If you did, thank you. If not, well I wrote this mostly for me to see the words and not really for anyone else anyway.
Thank you to anyone that enjoys my work.

Status Update
Posted 10 years agoGreetings!
I did not have much intention of sticking to some sort of schedule with my submissions, but I also did not intend to have a significant gap between the releases of a two part story. Things happen and attention can wander a bit... My opinions of multi-part stories and release timings aside, I wanted to post something to help explain what's up and what's about to happen.
So here's the deal, I've been writing fairly consistently, just not all on one project. The conclusion of My Deer has been priority, but I have struggled with making progress on that particular story. As a result, I have dabbled with a few other ideas (8-9 others). I even had a writing day all of Saturday afternoon in which I woke up late and then spent about 7 hours straight writing, consuming 1/2 a pot of coffee and nothing else.
The majority of Saturday was spent on another project, but I did put enough time into my priority to analyze what might have caused my struggles with it and also just make general progress. Therefore, I should be able to finish the newer story sometime this week if things go smoothly. Work will continue on My Deer following that release. I have nearly completed two of the three major scenes, the last I have mostly envisioned and that just leaves a short wrap-up and a bit of editing.
I find it frustrating to leave something unfinished and complete another work, but I had started outlining a new idea which raised an interesting question and I decided to answer it. I had not felt that drive to go "just a bit further" since the middle portion of Natural so I just went with it.
Thanks!
