Help! How to draw paws from beneath?? xD
General | Posted 11 years agoHow to draw paws from beneath?!
I've been fighting with this problem for a few hours the other day, googled it with all possible word combinations
I could think of... And still can't figure it out! Ack :'D
Please someone help me! :'D
Any paw examples are fine really, but it's a rabbit's paw in particular that I'm trying to draw.
Maybe there's a reason I never look at things from beneath... They just don't make sense that way! xD
If you're interested in seeing what's the picture and position I'm trying to draw, just say so and I'll fetch you the piece! :]
I started drawing a year ago. And I've come far. Whoa... ._.
General | Posted 11 years agoI was just scrolling down my Facebook profile, trying to find a certain poem I couldn't find in my folders anywhere,
when I started running into my older pieces of art I've done. Like, the really early ones.
Then I saw this one, white bunny with gray markings and blonde, curly hair, a purple shirt and a rainbow scarf on
her. My first finished digital drawing ever. Damn, those feels.
Edit: Here's the bunny I'm talking about!
I was so freakin' happy back then. I can easily remember the moment when we were looking for my tablet in the
store in the central with my boyfriend. And the feelings after that, when I installed it and started looking for a program
to start drawing with (which, btw, was ArtRage 4.0). And when I started actually drawing. I remember laughing
and just constantly trying to get used to the feeling of the combination of the pen, the tablet and the screen.
And soon enough I did.
And then I started drawing.
I was like a kid in a room full of presents in Christmas. It was such a cliche, for an artist to get back into what she
really enjoys and at long last finally gets back into.
And I was so fast in art back then! When I scrolled down my Facebook timeline I noticed that it really took me
about 2-3 days to finish a shaded piece. And the descriptions of those pictures I posted? Full of excitement with
each one, full of confidence about getting better all the time, full of enthusiasm and pride and shamelessly
saying "Damn I'm good at this. I mean, look at this! It's fucking amazing. I'm so proud of myself!" out loud.
Which, to be honest, kinda makes me miserable as well... Looking at what I'm doing now. Not that I still wouldn't
think that I'm great at what I do, and getting better all the time with each piece that I do. But, just...
One person in your life can make all the difference.
My boyfriend was the one who encouraged me to get back into drawing since I kept talking about it so often.
(Edit: In the matter of fact he was my fiancé back then. Which makes this even more full of feelings.)
He was there and told me to get the graphics tablet even though I was on the edge 'cause it seemed a bit
expensive for my budget back then in the store.
He was the one smiling there, right beside me, asking me "Well, wasn't it good that you got this now? Aren't
you excited?" when we got out of the store.
He told me my first finished piece was really good for a first digital one 'cause he had heard that it's really
hard for some to get adjusted to the tablet.
And, well, looking at how things are now... I won't go more into the detail (unless you wanna know, just ask, it's
not a secret) but... He's just not there for me and my excitement and progress and all that anymore the way he
used to be... And with each piece I continue, make progress with and I'm pleased with the outcome... I'm just
not so happy about it anymore. I can't just show it to him and expect a good comment back. I can barely expect
him to turn his head without "doing this first" and then a comment of any sort... Which really depresses me.
Which, quite frankly might be the very root of why it's taken me months to even sketch out commissions I got
commissioned for months ago.
Such mixed feelings...
I seriously feel like crying at the moment.
Though I'm not gonna give up on drawing; art has become the soothing routine of my days, the thing that takes
my mind off of almost anything and everything else, something I know I'm good at when everything else fails.
Anywho.
I'm gonna use this weekend to do a comparison/"draw this again" thing of the mentioned bunny.
If you took the time to read this overly long flood of mixed feelings... Thank you. For what, I really don't know,
but I thank you still.
Have a good evening and weekend, all. ♥
You all mean the world to me since you've kept me going, you're here to encourage me when the closest to me
can't/won't. You have no idea how much I owe and love you all ♥

Wacom Bamboo pen clicks when hovering? FIXED!
General | Posted 11 years agoWell yeah I was about to write a small rant vent journal about how my Wacom Bamboo pen suddenly started acting
weird this morning out of a blue so that it was clicking and holding on everything even when I was just hovering it to
move the cursor across the screen and such.
I spent a good bit of time googling for possible solutions; first things I found were to take the pen apart (OAO'') and
meddle with something in it, then what I found was to try and meddle with the text files that are created when it's
installed on a PC, and thirdly just to take the nib out and leave the pen be for overnight like that.
No, I don't want to take my pen apart when it still has warranty.
No, I don't want to meddle with those files either, they're a pain in the ass sometimes to find the right things from.
No, I don't want to spend another day without drawing! Goddammit!
Then I scrolled a little bit more down and a lot of people had found an easy way to fix it:
"Take out the nib and whack the pen on your desk (or drop it on the floor from 3 feet up). It re-seats the nib sensor
when it's stuck. If this doesn't work, then the sensor may be too damaged."
HALLELUJAH FOR GOOD OL' WHACKIN' TECHNIQUES!
^ Meaning that it works like a charm now again. :D
Have a nice day! I know I will! ♥

What a weekend. Back to work!
General | Posted 11 years agoHufhuff. This weekend was somehow boring but somehow lovely but somehow irritating at the same time. Can't choose on one. ó.ó
But at least I saw Ascendancy, The Muppets: Most Wanted and Rio 2 <33 And once again Rio gave me songs to get addicted to :D So life is good~ (I suppose?)
Today I gotta run some "real life" job errands but aside from that, back to work! :)
And go watch those movies! They're the best. o3o
Cheap busts, slots still open!
Adopt dump, characters still without a home!

General | Posted 12 years agoBut don't know how to report it?
I realized that one of my former so-called friends has continuously been thieving so I told the original artists
and also did some digging to find out HOW to actually report art thievery on Facebook.
It seems that manymany people have had trouble with it, but I found the way.
The whole bundle of questions, answers and report options can be found here:
https://www.facebook.com/help/www/400287850027717
But you can't report thievery for someone else, so just keep your eyes open and if you see a stolen piece and
know who it belongs to, tell them. They don't even need Facebook accounts to report it, which is really a good
thing since so many people don't have accounts on Facebook. :'3
I hope someone finds this useful!
Or, well, that sounds just bad... Of course I wish that nobody had to suffer from such act! But, point taken? xD

The Ladder
General | Posted 12 years agoNo matter how high your goal in life is, you can get there. Just stop wishing for wings so that you could easily fly there. You cannot fly, you know that.
But you can build a ladder, step by step, to get there. All you have to do is to find the right tools to what to build the ladder of. You gotta train your skills to build each step even more durable, so you can stay on it for as long as needed, without it breaking down beneath your feet.
Do you know how to train your skill in building those steps? I'll give you a hint.
Don't give up. Even if a step you built earlier wasn't as durable as you intended for it to be, it's not the end. Now you can build a better, more durable one. As you get higher on the ladder and closer to your goal, you will feel your confidence growing. It will only begin to grow if you train your skills enough.
But if you give up... It's the same as you would set your ladder on fire.
But I also know something that will make your ladder unbreakable! But I'm not telling you what it is. You have to build your ladder and climb so high up on it that you are only a couple of steps away form your goal. Though I can give you a hint again. Once you've climbed that high up, look down. You'll understand.
Something for all of you to ponder these last days of this year. I hope this text reaches as many persons as possible. Even though I wrote it myself I have been inspired by it, so I believe it will inspire many others as it inspired me. (:
