Fursuit fiasco
General | Posted a week agoSo I mentioned in a previous journal that I was waiting for my fursuit to be created. Unfortunately, “Fur The Win” filed for bankruptcy and closed… with my money.
I decided against having another fursuit created. I’m 72 (although no one thinks that I look that old, thank you very much) and by the time I could get another suit made… I don’t think I would get enough use out of it to justify that kind of outlay again.
That said, while I was at Megaplex 2025, I saw several people in the dealer’s room selling leather horse heads. “Hmmmmmm,” I thought to myself. $500 for the horse head? I asked one dealer about how much extra they’d charge to make it with Chiron’s colorations. “No extra charge,” was the reply, after I told him what I wanted. So I paid the $500, and after several conversations, I received the horse head about a month later, and it was exactly what I wanted. Even had six holes in the left ear, to accommodate six earrings, of the gay rainbow pride flag.
I wore him as a partial, with coveralls, horse tail, and gloves (from my Bruno partial), to the Megaplex Howl-O-Plex Halloween party. A lot of interest. So I’m going to get sleeves and gloves with his colorations, and he WILL be at Megaplex 2026. I will also post pictures here soon.
Meanwhile, I can highly recommend SykoGear LeatherWerx for your leather needs/desires. Check out their LinkTree at https://linktr.ee/sykogearleatherwerx

Megaplex 2024
General | Posted a year agoYes, I will be attending Megaplex 2024. My fursuit is still not ready, but I will likely be bringing Bruno (I just won't talk about him), but not certain how much suit time I will Devote to him.
I won't be on Staff this year. As much as I enjoyed the work, I found I missed too many things that I had wanted to see. But I will be volunteering for load-in and set-up.
I plan to take a lot of photos and videos this year, and will be posting the photos to Furtrack so that people will hopefully be able to see their furry selves.
If you're going to MP, don't be afraid to say "Hi!" I don't bite, unless invited to.
Hugz to you all!

MegaPlex 2023 Fursuit parade on YouTube
General | Posted 2 years agoThe whole parade is set to music, with the parade audio in the background, and “ducked down” when needed. Enjoy!

MegaPlex 2022 videos
General | Posted 3 years agoI had a great time at MegaPlex 2022, working on the A/V Staff.
Below is a link to my YouTube channel (no, I’m not generating any revenue from it. It’s mostly to express myself).
The first two videos are of the “Fursuit Timewarp parade,” which is the second fursuit parade and it happened after the Closing Ceremony, and a collection of photos and videos, set to music.
I hope you enjoy them.

Another Megaplex video - Parade 2

More to come
General | Posted 5 years agoSo life gets in the way sometimes. I'm finally getting my schtuff together...
Starting to post the commissions that I've not shared before.
I also owe one very patient person a story, and I hope to have that available for them soon.
The one story that I've most wanted to tell (Jason and Taylor) will be my next priority after that.
I just posted a reference of my fursona, for a fursuit I've been wanting for the longest time.
Having reached retirement age, they keep finding more stuff wrong with me, so I keep my doctors happy with what I'm sure are down-payments on luxury items
I'm likely going to have to start selling some of my collection soon. If that happens, you'll all see a Journal about it.
Meanwhile, I hope everyone is staying safe, and taking care of themselves!

General | Posted 5 years agoPlease check out this post for an artist in need!
She’s dealing with breast cancer, and as with most kinds of cancer, there are large expenses.
Please read all about it, and see if you can’t commission her, or at least drop her a few bucks!

Sad news about a gay cartoonist
General | Posted 5 years agoI was going through some old books, and I stumbled across “Doc & Raider - Incredibly Life Like” by Sean Martin, that I bought long ago and I decided to see if he had an online presence. Unfortunately, what I found was a Twitter post from 6 days ago, from someone who said he just found out that he’d passed away three weeks ago. Very sad to hear that.
Old artwork coming
General | Posted 5 years agoSo, I realized that I have a lot of commissioned artwork that I've not posted here, so during my quarantine time, I'm going to try and TCO that.
I am going to have to research and credit the artists involved, and meanwhile I do have other work to do, so don't expect a sudden onslaught.
Butt, please enjoy!

Sigh!!! Attica???
General | Posted 6 years agoSo, if it seems I’ve been quiet lately, it’s not your imagination.
TLDR:
About a month ago, I was putting away a half empty box of frozen waffles (Don’t judgement!) The freezer is on the bottom, and though I barely had to bend over, I felt a pop, and I saw the whole of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, condensed into 2 seconds. Holy crap!
A not so quick trip to ER confirmed an injury to the left sciatic nerve bundle. They took x-rays, gave me a shot, some pills, and prescriptions. None of the pain pills I’ve taken through this ordeal have done a thing to numb the pain. For the first few weeks I couldn’t stand up longer than a minute, couldn’t sit up for more than 30 seconds, and basically had to find a comfortable position horizontally, which after awhile would become uncomfortable, so I’d have to move to another position.
The whole ”horizontal” thing meant I couldn’t drive into work, nor could I run service calls, so I went on medical leave. It’s been a little over a month.
Last week was the first week that the pain, which had moved to my hip, was noticeably better, although my left thigh was (and still is) mostly numb, but also inflamed, and having random spasms of pain (less frequent now).
The whole “not sitting upright” thing meant I couldn’t even sit at my computer long enough to boot up and sign in. So I’ve mostly been on my iPhone, with some time on my iPad.
Now, my point is, and I do have one, that I’ve really not been spending much time online (but I’ve watched more Food Network, Cooking Channel, and blu-Ray discs than I thought possible). So if if not gotten back to you as quickly or even at all, that would be why, and you have my most sincere apologies.
I head back to work next Week, so things are getting back to ”normal”
I hope all of my followers who observe such things, have a happy Thanksgiving day.

Hurricane Irma
General | Posted 8 years agoWell, Irma seems to be bearing down on Florida. It's twice the width of our state.
At least, being in the centaur of the state, we don't have to worry about water surges. You can hide from wind, but not water.
The current forecast shows wind gusts over 75MPH for us on Sunday night, and over 100MPH in Daytona Beach.
My husband and I both have Sunday, Monday & Tuesday off next week, so by the time I have to go back to work, most of the damage should be cleaned up.
I think we're well prepared. Hopefully we won't be without power for long.
So keep this old horse and his bull husband in your thoughts. I'll let you know when we come out of it.
"We made it through the rain, and found ourselves respected, by the others who, got rained on too, and made it through."
(Paraphrased from the Big BM (Barry Manilow))

The Pulse of Orlando - some thoughts
General | Posted 8 years agoToday is the one year anniversary of the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. There's going to be a remembrance ceremony downtown, and Steve (my husband) and I, as members of the Orlando Gay Chorus, will be performing, with with the chorus, another small group, and a mass chorus of 200, crowded onto a tiny stage, with dancers. It's going to be an emotional rollercoaster of a day.
Steve knew one of the victims, and I met him once. A really nice guy, who had a young son (I think he is about 6 this year). Even without directly knowing anyone involved, if you live in The Orlando area, you likely know someone who did know someone.
Steve & I had been there once, not long after it opened. It's a dance club, and we're a bit old for that scene. But we know several people who were regulars there, who just didn't happen to go that night. A friend of ours was down from Jacksonville, and we'd met him and another friend at another bar. Steve & I were in bed before midnight, but our friends had talked about going to Pulse, but they'd had too much to drink, so they went "home." At least one chorus member had been at Pulse that night, but left before midnight.
Steve let me sleep in Sunday morning, but when I work up and picked up my phone, the first thing I see is a notification saying "50 people killed in gay nightclub shooting." (That number included the gunman, btw). My first thought was that it happened at the Parliament House, which is less than a mile from us, and is the largest gay motel/entertainment nightclub in Orlando (at one point, the largest in the world). I went into the app and found out that it was at Pulse. I got up, and went into the living room, where Steve was watching TV, hugged him and we both cried.
Facebook has a "I'm okay" feature, and we checked in, and watched as more and more of our friends checked in. Fortunately no one in the chorus was killed, but many people knew at least one of the victims.
This could've been any gay club/bar. It could've been the bar that we were at that night. I'm sure that thought passed through everyone's mind.
The chorus was asked to perform at a memorial service at the Joy MCC church that night. We performed at a huge ceremony in front of the Dr Phillips Performing Arts Center downtown... I think that ceremony was what helped me deal with the whole situation. (That said, I'm crying as I write this) The chorus was asked to perform at over 100 memorials and fundraisers in the past year. Music helps soothe the soul. It's a universal language that transcends the words that are being sung.
So we'll be performing tonight. We'll be on national TV and CNN. I will do my best not to cry, but no matter... a small part of me died, and it's going to take longer to heal than I thought.

Orlando Strong
General | Posted 8 years agoFor those people who don't know it, my husband and I are founding members of the Orlando Gay Chorus. Our group has been singing for 27 years.
The BBC did an excellent story on us recently, and I thought I'd share the link to it with you all.
http://a.msn.com/09/en-gb/BBCoo2C?ocid=se
Tomorrow will be the 1 year anniversary of the Pulse massacre. We will be spending most of the day downtown. I'm sure there will be a quick blurb about the event tomorrow on national news.
The chorus will be performing, and my husband & I will be there. We'll be singing with the chorus, then with a small group, and finally the grande finale with 200 choral singers, all on a stage that will likely be too small for us... (did I mention there will be dancers?) So it should be quite a show!

Inquiry on gay abusive relationships, for a story
General | Posted 8 years agoAs you may know, I am working on a gay furry love story. It's got quite a cast of characters being developed. One of the was in a physically abusive relationship, and I want him to talk to another character about that relationship, and I want to make certain, from someone who is familiar with such relationships, if what I've written feels real?
Please note me if you can help.

Re: Matthew
General | Posted 9 years agoI just realized I never posted a post-Matthew update.
We came through it just fine Central Florida was spared the brunt of the hurricane (much to the chain of religious opportunists who proclaimed that the hurricane was God' revenge for gay marriage).
So I am working on more stories. I'm considering selling them in book form. Hard copy & digital options.
Mind you, I'm not certain that I will do this, I am simply considering it. I don't think I'm a good fit for Patreon, who I am already paying almost $100/mo for the various artists that I support (Something I am going to have to cut back on, in light of needing to pay for a new computer, still paying off the new roof we got earlier this year, sneeding to buy a new refrigerator (ours committed suicide, and is currently sitting at 64 degrees in both the freezer and reefer.), etc.
Any way, that
's where things stand for now. More to follow!
