Matthew!
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, we're hunkered down in Orlando waiting for Hurricane Matthew. Our home has a new roof, the trees closest to our house have been removed. We've got food and water. I think we're going to be fine.
We had just moved into this house the year three hurricanes hit Orlando. So we've had some experience with hurricanes. I"m still nervous, though. Matthew will be edging into Orlando while we sleep (presumably).
We all appreciate everyone's positive thoughts and wishes.
I'll post here when we're out of 'danger."

Game console number 3!
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, after much debating (Xbox, PS4) and seeing the Xbox One available on Woot! For $250, including 3 games, I decided to get my third game console (my first two being an Atari 2600, and a Nintendo) and I've been enjoying it a lot.
Today I received and began installing "Elder Scrolls Online" (I also purchased Skyrim, but was disappointed that it would not install (after reading how backwards compatible the system is. Sigh.)
Any way. Can anyone point me to a good guide or online resource for getting the most out of the game?
Thanks!

Busy busy!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm sure, by now, that people notice that I've not been posting as much here, and it's taken me awhile to repost my commissioned artwork.
As you may remember, my husband Steve & I are founding members of the Orlando Gay Chorus. This is the time of year that we begin rehearsing for our Holiday concert. This year, however, we've also been rehearsing for a joint concert with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra (our first collaboration). That concert was this past Saturday night, and I thought you MIGHT appreciate reading a review of it:

Hopefully things are back to normal (whatever 'normal" is) and I'll be posting in a more timely manner.
Hugz to all!

A quick update
General | Posted 12 years agoThings are going a lot better for me (if you ignore the fact that I hate my supervision more and more with each passing nanosecond!) I've been feeling a lot better of late (and once I sell my car (note me if you're in Central Florida and interested in a 2005 Honda Civic Si in great condition)) i'll be doing pretty spectacular.
I've been trying to get out of my stagnated writer's block so that I can finish the long promised story featuring characters from FA, and suddenly this week I came up with a story idea that got me so excited that I began working on it immediately. Interesting side note, it's not a furry story (although it does contain some of my favorite kinds of furries (think equine & such)). I'm hoping to have the momentum carry over to the other story ideas that have been sitting on the back burner.
Not 100% certain that I will post this story to FA, but I will definitely update everyone and let you all know where it will be if I don't post it here.
You all take care of yourselves. Here's a big [virtual hug] for everyone!

General | Posted 12 years agoI'm not going to spend a lot of journal space with comments on my health, but since I started it, I felt I should give you this update.
Tuesday I went in for my weekly phlebotomy (blood-letting) and they told me my numbers (hemoglobin count) were 42. The doctor wanted them to be 44 or lower, so no treatment this week.
Yay!
I don't know what that says about the long-run, but it's good news for now?

General | Posted 12 years agoToday is my 60th birthday!
I'm at an age where it's better to tell people my real age that to tell them that I'm younger than I am. Both illicit "Really? You don't look it!" but the latter is accompanied by HUGE rolling of eyes.
So birthday plans? I get to take the dog to the vet for his annual exam. This afternoon I get to go for another blood-letting (woo hoo!).
Then Steve and I got out for a nice dinner, and we end the evening by seeing the play "Priscilla, Queen of the Dessert"
Yesterday I had a one marrow biopsy, and it was not horrible. It was a lot of laying around and waiting, or recovering. The procedure was about10 minutes, they tell me.
The rest of my week is going to be nice. I took the next three days off, with Thursday and Friday being spent at Photoshop World Expo. If anyone from FA is going to be there, let me know. I see if I can't introduce myself.

Health update
General | Posted 12 years agoSo the good news is that I don't have rumors in my kidneys or liver. So yay!
Something is causing my bone marrow to produce too much hemoglobin, and until they figure out why, I get to go in for bloodlettings. I had my first one today, and was relieved that it didn't involve leeches. Most everyone around me was there for chemo-theropy treatments, so I count myself fortunate (so far). Nice people. But the phlebotomy portion (removing a pint of blood from me) was fairly painful at times. I may have to go back as often as once a week, but I won't know for sure until they give me another blood test next week.
But I'm in decent health, and the process should help reduce my migraines, so double yay!
