Got the signature of Mira Furlan (Babylon 5's Delenn), enjoyed a comics writer's panel, and stood in awe... Of the amazingly high prices of the food court (can you say captive audience?)

I just finished a rather long story commission. The commissioner (Hmmm, I wonder if he knows Commissioner Gordon?) has requested to keep the story to himself for the rest of the year. So I have nothing to post. BUT, it means that I am available for a commission.

I typically only take one story commission at a time, because if someone is paying me to write, they get my full creative attention (I fully respect artists who can work on multiple items at once, and this was not meant to be a negative comment about them, it is only a description of how/why I work). So, with that said...

I'm a horrible person! Of course, some of these I am scratching my head over. How does having your owned or rented an apartment or house (hasn't most everyone?) contribute towards you being an evil person?

I decided to change the thumbnail for Fantasy of Fur. I cropped the wonderful artwork by Tenebear so it is not sexually explicit. I did this mainly because the story is not as spoogey as it was originally conceived. It really is about a relationship and love between two men (centaurs). Cropping it emphasizes the feelings between the two. It is still pretty obvious what they are doing, but you focus on Harry looking into Mark's eyes. He is giving himself to Mark because he loves him. Ultimately, that's what this story is about... love.

I did not crop the thumbnail for "Centaurs are doing it for themselves" because it didn't seem necessary. It is tagged as adult, so anyone who isn't set to see adult-themed submissions won't see it. It's also a bit small to discern the "naughty bits."

So that's that.

Just realized that my last journal entry still said that A Fantasy Of Fur was awaiting proof-reading. In case you hadn't noticed, the final version has been posted (as a PDF file) and the draft version was moved to scraps.

I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It's not a great work of literature, but I think it's entertaining.

I'm also working on a couple of other stories, but one of them is not furry related. But for some reason, it's wanting to be told. Another was suggested by a reader, and the third one is another that just came to me.

Not sure that this is an appropriate venue for the non-furry story, but I will certainly talk about it, and point to wherever it winds up.

I have the final draft of A Fantasy Of Fur with a friend for proof reading and suggestions. Once I have it back, I'll be able to post it, Just In Time For Christmas.

This is just one of many ideas I've come up with for centaurs transformations. This story originally began as a very short spoogefest, but as I started writing, it became evident that these characters deserved more. There is spooge, but it's all toward the end.

Normally when I write, I run an idea through my head for a long time. I visualize the story from beginning to end. I eventually sit down and take notes, flesh it out a bit, and when I get it where I like it, I print it out, carry it around, and make a lot of editing changes, flesh out the story even more, with a lot more detail. Get it to where I think it's good, then print it out again.

Eventually I get it to a point where I send it to a couple of trusted friends to get their suggestions. Once I've incorporated them, I give it another print run through, an finally consider it finished.

I submitted this at the point just before I would've done the first printout. So yes, it's very rough.

I plan on going though my process, tightening the story as I go, and submitting it in it's final version.

So I hope this clears a few things up. Any writers that want to discuss writing, just let me know. As I said when I posted this story, I welcome comments, suggestions and constructive criticism.

It's complete, as far as stories go, but it's not finished. I normally go back and spend a lot of time cleaning up, fact checking, detail adding, etc. This one has had a lick and a promise. I've been promising a new story post for 8 months now, but things have been crazy around here. In honor of FA coming back up, and the holiday season, I am going to choose one of my 5 current "rough draft, in my mind" stories, finishing it an posting it. I have the week of Christmas off, and while I have 20 projects (doing a lot of video work for the 20th Anniversary concert of the Orlando Gay Chorus) I will put a priority on this, and you should be able to read it before the end of the year.
