Squirrel fursuit head for sale!
Posted 13 years agoWell my hiatus will continue because I'm helping my mom out a lot at the moment, so commissions are still on hold. Sorry everyone! But that doesn't stop me from wanting to work on costumes so.....
Mitzi the squirrel is up for auction!
Expect some more fursuits to be posted in the future, but I don't know how long that will take, since my family issues have no end in sight. I won't be around on furaffinity for much communication for a while sadly, but I'll answer emails sent to coatichop@gmail.com! ^^; Thanks for sticking with me, everyone.

Hiatus, family issues.
Posted 13 years agoPrivate family troubles are going to make me scarce for a while. Helping a close family member who is going through a rough divorce from an abusive relationship and that takes precedence! I will get back to anyone wanting a quote or who has emailed me with questions as soon as this whole thing's through.
there will probably still be premade fursuits for sale because I like working on them, but no commissions for a bit! thanks for understanding!

Bull Terrier partial fursuit for sale!
Posted 14 years agoAndre just wants a nice, warm home for the holidays ... and maybe some eggnog. Because who doesn't love eggnog? Just go easy on the alcohol unless you want a drunk bull terrier chasing your cat up the x-mas tree.
Auction here!

Things will be slow.
Posted 14 years agoI have been helping my mom recently due to some health problems she has been having. Her blood pressure has been really high and I'm trying to help her keep from being too stressed at home and work while still meeting bills so my other job has taken priority.
There should be a couple of new fursuits here within the next couple of weeks though! Mom's BP has been dropping steadily so she should be well enough to allow me less hours at the other place. I'd much rather be making these than working overtime in retail. ^^;

Commission Info/Prices
Posted 14 years agoCommission Info
We are currently OPEN for quotes and commissions! This is not first-come first-serve. We reserve the turn down any project, at our discretion. Be sure to read my Terms of Service before requesting a quote. Direct emails to CoatiChop@gmail.com!
We accept mostly artistic license commissions, which don't require reference art. These commissions involve you giving us rough guidelines (such as "I want a tiger" or "a blue canine") and we run with it! If you want to specify expression, colors, etc. that's fine! Just no specific markings without reference art. This is just to be sure you're happy with the fursuit you receive!
We also accept custom commissions, but require reference art for these! Please provide clear, clean reference art with at least a view of the front and a view of the back. No black and white references unless the character is black and white, please!
Regarding reference art: warn us if it's mature! My little brother often visits my workshop and I don't want to open anything like that in front of him.
For a basic price idea, refer to the list below. We often give discounts on projects we're particularly interested in working on though, so please email us for a more detailed quote!
Prices
Please keep in mind that these are to give an idea at the cost of these things, but that prices may vary depending on supplies needed, difficulty of project, etc.
Tails start at $40
- stuffed with polyfil or foam, with two elastic bands to attach to belts
Gloves start at $30
- 3 fingers + thumb standard, extend ~3-4 inches past wrist to forearm

Sleeves start at $40
- extend from wrist to shoulder, can be attached to gloves or separate with velcro
- connect behind the back and under shirt with a strip of elastic sewed to each sleeve
- can be worn with sleeveless shirts/shirts with very small sleeves without showing shoulder!
Feet start at $80
- 4 toes standard, cuff extends ~3-4 inches past top of paws, easily covered with pants
- black, durable soles (working on pads for feet)
- can add claws for $10
Heads start at $400
- made from high-density foam and high-quality faux fur
- no moving jaws at this time! Sorry, still figuring out the best method for that!
- can offer either realistic or cartoon heads
Foam Heads start at $80
- made from high-density foam
- includes foam, rubber-dipped nose

For partial suits or other projects, please email us with details! We'll get back to you with a detailed quote just as fast as we can!

General Info/Terms of Service
Posted 14 years agoPlease note, I am not currently taking commissions for full fursuits. My workshop simply isn't big enough. Give me, oh, a few months and try back!
Coati Chop-Shop consists of one artist (who goes by Jericho) and a very loving and patient SO who helps when he gets in over his head. <3
We're not a high-volume mascot company, by any means, so the going can sometimes be a little slow! But bear with us! We're just getting started. We'll be crafting (and selling) a lot of really interesting stuff so keep your eyes open!
We sell a lot of fursuit heads and partials on FurBuy, and we make announcements here via journal! We also advertise on the Fursuit Auctions Livejournal community. If you have any questions about a suit for sale, please email us instead of using FA notes! I tend to forget to check those!
As a general rule, we don't take a lot of custom commissions unless they really strike us as fun and challenging. Feel free to contact us for a quote but please don't be offended if we turn a project down or ask to postpone it! We just have very strange and flexible schedules and prefer to work on our own terms!
However we do accept commissions on a case by case basis so don't hesitate to e-mail for a quote! We don't bite!
Some things to keep in mind when emailing for a quote:
We reserve the right to turn down any commission/project or to cancel a commission at any point if the commissioner becomes unreasonably hard to contact (we'll try multiple times, I promise! This is just for the most extreme of cases!), rude, or threatening
We will not accept commissions for copyrighted characters or "adult" suits.
If you would like a custom commission, please include clear reference art. This applies only if you are wanting something made to your exact specifications. We also accept artistic license commissions and reference art is not needed in that case. Please email with specific questions!
If you want me to work in another fursuit maker's style, you should probably ask them for a quote instead of me! :P Please be sure you want my work in my style before commissioning me!
If we are going to build a fursuit for you, there are quite a few measurements we'll need! I require a lot of measurements but that's just to make sure everything fits nicely.
For premade fursuits/crafts being auctioned on Furbuy (or any other site), we generally require 50% nonrefundable up front and the other 50% paid in under 2 months. Other arrangements can be made if necessary, by email. This is just to keep us from piling up a ton of costumes here and there. We don't have the biggest of storage areas!
For fursuits/crafts being auctioned that still require some work to be completed (such as custom gloves/sleeves/feet to go with a head for auction), we generally require 30% nonrefundable up front and the other 70% paid before the finished product is shipped. This time may vary with the amount of work needing to be completed, so email for specifics, please!
For commissions, we require a 30% nonrefundable deposit with which to purchase supplies. The other 70% can be paid out in whatever increments work best for the commissioner, but the finished product will not be shipped before full payment and shipping are received!
We ask that commissioners paying with PayPal withhold shipping until we have the commission complete and ready to go. We ask this just because it is easier on us and keeps Jericho from accidentally spending the shipping funds! (I said I was sorry!) If you're paying with a money order or other form of payment that makes that more difficult, you may send shipping whenever is convenient to you!
We ship packages to the US and Canada through Fedex unless you request otherwise! We can use UPS or USPS, too, but please specify if you want to use one of those services! International shipping (besides Canada!) generally goes through USPS due to cost.
Customer pays shipping costs, no matter the area and service used! I include the cost of insuring the package in shipping quotes and will require signature if requested, but it is extra.
Please email with your zip code for shipping quotes!
If your project/commission has a specific deadline, please let us know! We'll do our best to meet it or we'll tell you if we can't. Please keep in mind that deadlines proposed after a commission has been started will likely be turned down. I may have other things on my plate than just your project, so please be realistic with your expectations and as always, if you have any questions, just email and ask!
My fursuits and other crafts all come from a home with dogs, cats and a bird. While I don't let my animals play in or sleep on the supplies there could still be pet dander that makes its way onto the materials! If you have pet allergies please make sure to keep this in mind!

Measurements
If we are going to build a fursuit for you, there are quite a few measurements we'll need! I require a lot of measurements but that's just to make sure everything fits nicely.
Foam and Completed Heads
- circumference of your head around the forehead just above the eyes
- distance from the bridge of your nose between the eyes to the tip of your chin
Gloves
- distance between the tip of your middle finger and the bottom of your palm
- width of your palm at its widest point (usually right above the wrist)
- circumference of your wrist where it connects to the hand
- circumference of your wrist about three inches below the previous measurement
Sleeves
- distance from your wrist to your elbow
- distance from your elbow to the top of your shoulder, along the outside with your arm at your side
- distance from your inner elbow to your armpit, with your arm out to the side (parallel to the ground)
- circumference of your upper arm at its largest point
- circumference of your lower arm at its largest point
- circumference of your shoulder around where the armpit is
Feet
- length of your foot from toe to heel
- width of the ball of your foot (just below the toes)
I don't generally require measurements for tails unless something specific is requested (like a very long tail that curves up just enough to not drag the floor!)Payment/Shipping
