Point Of Know Return*
Posted 6 months ago* Content Warning: Death
How long? How long, until the point of no return?
Today has been...a rather surreal day for me today. It's also a rather significant turning point as well for me personally.
Because today... today, I purchased my own grave.
...
Now before anyone gets over-concerned for my well-being, I am still alive and well (either fortunately or otherwise, depending on who I'm still friendly with here on FA.)
But, yeah, what with my family history and all sorts of other things, I can't be buried in my backyard either. (Its rather frowned upon in MA and there would be more than a few questions/raised eyebrows if my remains were to be found at home in general anyway. :P)
Having said that - I have, quite personally, looked death in the eye at least twice. Once due to my own stupidity, and when I was much younger...that story is a bit more private.
I do hope that I at least live long enough to see Mango Mussolini forcibly removed from office (preferably in handcuffs) and still be here on FA to view all the furry pron, keep in touch (more or less) with the ones I am friends with, and share all of my recipes here.
So yeah...there's that.

Yes Im Outraged (WARNING Political Parody)
Posted 7 months ago...I was inspired by someone on Threads to put out another song, to highlight the Hegseth Whiskileaks Scandal -
You can sing to South Parks Big Gay Al's "I'm Super!"
Trump is lying, Hegseth's denying
We're all crying and our National Security has no clue
A lot of leaking, but no one's speaking
This sure is a cluster****, but how are you?
Why I'm outraged, thanks for asking!
All things considered, Trumps entire team needs to be fired I must say!
Ask anyone in military, you would be court-martialed
This is no simple 'oops', but Fox says you should look the other way!
I'm so sorry, troops in Yemen
The administration doesn't feel bad for you right now
Because they all feel so superior
That others could have had this sensitive info first to shoot you down
(I'm outraged, thanks for asking!
All things considered, Trumps entire team needs to be fired I must say!)
Yes, I'm outraged, and you should be too!
I wasn't invited to the chat, but were you?
Elmo's 'investigating' and Gabbard's prevaricating
And somewhere in the wings Putin is elating
I'm outraged for those more responsible, that don't kiss and tell
And to those who say "But her emails" can go right to hell
Yes, I'm outraged and its not that hard to say
So don't get distracted and ask for the whole TRUTH today!!!

Seriously Texas, WTAF?
Posted 7 months ago....Pretty sure some of you may have heard about this, but...

(The Center Square) – State Rep. Stan Gerdes, R-Smithville, introduced the FURRIES Act (Forbidden Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education) on Thursday to prohibit Texas public schools from allowing furry subculture behavior in classrooms and on campuses. The furry subculture involves individuals adopting anthropomorphic animal identities who often dress in costumes and attempt to mimic animal behavior.
“I can't believe we have to do this, but we cannot allow these types of role-playing distractions to affect our students who are trying to learn or our teachers and administrators who are trying to teach,” Gerdes said in a statement. “We just have to keep this nonsense out of our schools.
“No distractions. No theatrics. Just education,” he said. “While school mascots, theater performances, and dress-up days remain part of school spirit, this bill ensures that students and teachers can focus on academics – not on bizarre and unhealthy disruptions. Texas schools are for educating kids, not indulging in radical trends.”
Gov. Greg Abbott expressed support for the bill at a Texas Pastor’s Council event on Thursday in Austin. “In some small rural sections and school districts,” public schools are dealing with furries, he said. “Kids go to school dressed up as cats with litter boxes.” It’s become such a problem that Gerdes filed a bill “saying no furries in public schools in the state of Texas.”
“You have one expectation your child's going to be learning the fundamentals of education: reading and writing and math and science,” Abbott continued, making his case for the need for school choice in Texas. The Texas Senate already passed its school choice bill; the House held a hearing on Tuesday and is expected to pass it, making history, Abbott said.
If children are “being distracted by furries, their parents have a right to move their child to a school of their choice,” Abbott said. “I'm not telling you anything other than what is just common sense, but common sense is very hard to deal with in this setting.”
LGBTQ Nation criticized the bill, claiming “anti-transgender Republicans” “want to punish students who act like non-human animals in schools.” The Houston Chronicle claimed Abbott “resurrected debunked rumors that public schools were putting litter boxes in classrooms for students dressed as cats.” Several news reports contradict this claim.
Gerdes says he filed the bill in response to concerns expressed by his constituents; a furry-related incident occurred at Smithville ISD, confirmed by the superintendent, he said.
“I fully expect the subculture to show up in full furry vengeance at the committee hearing,” Gerdes said. However, “they won't be getting any litter boxes in the Texas capitol. They will have to use the regular restrooms like the humans they are.”
The bill would amend Texas education code to “prohibit any non-human behavior by a student, including presenting himself or herself, on days other than exempt days, as anything other than a human being.” Exempt days include holidays like Halloween.
Non-human behavior is defined as: “behaviors or accessories typically displayed by a member of the homeless sapiens species including using litter box for the passing of stool, urine, or other human byproducts;” an individual wearing “tails, leashes, colors, other accessories designed for pet,” including fur. “Barking, meowing, hissing or other animal noises that are not human speech and licking oneself or others for the purpose of grooming or maintenance” also would be prohibited.
The bill directs school boards to adopt student codes of conduct and penalties for violations, including removal, suspension, the disciplinary alternative education program or expulsion and specifies conditions for the penalties, according to the bill language.
It also would amend the Texas Family Code to define mental or emotional injury to a child to include “in an education setting, allowing or encouraging the child to develop a dependence on or belief that non-human behaviors are societally acceptable.” It defines mental and emotional injury, physical injury, sexual conduct harmful to a child’s mental, emotional or physical welfare, compelling or encouraging a child to engage in sexual conduct, including human trafficking, prostitution, child pornography, use of a controlled substance, child marriage and other acts.
It would allow citizens to file complaints with the Attorney General’s Office and authorize it to file a writ of mandamus requiring compliance with the law.
Just...wow.

Just Leaving This Here, Part II
Posted 11 months ago....Just saying....
Alright, Enough Already!!! >_<
Posted a year agoLet me start with this: I am very upset and still processing the death of Dragoneer.
This is definitely going to take time for all of us, and of course going through the traditional five stages of grief.
But in those stages, I would like to ask all of you reading this journal: Is there anywhere - and I'm asking this quite seriously - just where in these five stages is there supposed to be panic, anxiety, or just plain running around like a chicken with its head cut off?
I mean is this like....what...the millionth time that I've heard from other furs "OMG the site is going to shut down!!! The engines canna take the strain!!! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!!" Etc.
...Its bad enough that this happened, but to add insult to injury, this?!?
Let me be very clear about what I'm saying here: This site/webpage is not going to go belly up overnight. It didn't the last time when the Cloudstrike issues occurred; It didn't happen when FA got bought by IMVU, and then repurchased by Neer; hell, it didn't even happen during the whole "Y2K" crisis either! (Ask your parents about that one kids, or I can tell you all about the Blizzard of '76, whichever comes first :P)
I am sure that the other mods -must- have some kind of system/plan in place in case an event of this magnitude were to happen. What's more, aren't we all freaking jumping the gun here? I realize that this site means a *lot* to a lot of furs (including yours truly) both financially and emotionally...with that out of the way, however:
Seriously: jumping ship right now is, quite frankly, a slap in the face to what Dragoneer built. And yes, I will also not deny that I said before, I butted heads with him back in the day as well. That didn't stop him from reaching out to me when my dad passed, when he could have just ignored to what I was going through then outright. That's something that I will never forget, and us pangolins have loooooong memories.
With that said: Yeah, not moving from here, period. Whatever happens, happens, but I'm staying the course.

I seriously want all of you to think about what our former orangutan president actually said to his fellow right-wing Christian Conservatives today.
This -isn't- him using exaggeration. He was being completely serious in saying the quiet part out loud: That, deep down, he wants complete, total authoritarian rule, full stop.
There is also no denying that a large part of America would love to revel in this kind of rule (QAnon, 1 Percenters, 14/88, etc.) and let us also not forget about Project 2025, which has to be the most disturbing transition project that we the people could ever be subjected to. -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025

However, has anyone gone over/visited/viewed Fur Affinity (dot) com?
I mean - previously, this was just a blank domain and -before- that, a full tilt porn site (and nothing to do with furry I might add :B)
NOW, however, it runs the same way that the main site (.net) does. (not withstanding the same drama Im sure :P)
Is this something that

Oklahoma bill would ban 'furries' from school, require parent, 'animal control' to pick up rule-breakers
Story by Joseph Wulfsohn • 1d
A bill being proposed in Oklahoma would crack down on so-called "furries" from attending school and require either a guardian or "animal control" to pick up students in violation of the rule.
On Thursday, a report from The Oklahoman put a spotlight on House Bill 3084, which is among thousands of bills that were filed that have long-shots of being signed into law.
The bill, introduced late last year by Republican State Rep. Justin Humphrey, targets "furries," what Dictionary.com describes as "member[s] of a subculture devoted to art, writing, or costumes depicting anthropomorphic animals."
"Students who purport to be an imaginary animal or animal species, or who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school shall not be allowed to participate in school curriculum or activities," the bill states.
"The parent or guardian of a student in violation of this section shall pick the student up from the school, or animal control services shall be contacted to remove the student," the bill continues.
The bill, if passed, would take effect Nov. 1.
Fox News Digital reached out to Rep. Humphrey's office for comment.
Oklahoma isn't the only state with furry concerns. Last year, a Florida school board weighed in on whether kids should be able to wear "furry dress attire" during a meeting about dress code policy.
A law signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis restricting children from attending "adult live entertainment" barred a furry convention held in Orlando from allowing anyone under 18 years old in the event.
The irony being that this story is written by a "wolf's son".....yeah, this is just blaaaaaagh and not 'OK'!!!
I hope we all vote accordingly come November!!

New Pangolin News
Posted 2 years agoJust spotted this article from "Knewz" (though Im very sure this was posted previously by another source):
Protecting Pangolins: Farmers Set Aside Land After Creature Comes Out of 47 Years in Hiding
Story by Richard Burkard • 14h
"It dropped out of sight for more than 45 years. And when it reemerged, supporters needed years to prepare for its return.
But now, Knewz.com has learned it is official: the giant ground pangolin is out of nature’s closet in east Africa.
Yet that move could be dangerous. Animal traffickers reportedly want pangolins more than any other creature on Earth.
The giant ground pangolin is considered an endangered species. Experts thought it became extinct in Kenya in 1971. But several of them were spotted in a forest in 2018.
Now a non-profit called the Pangolin Project is trying to protect them, by developing dedicated space for them in western Kenya.
“We are dedicated to securing a future for African Pangolins in the landscapes where they live,” the Pangolin Project website says.
But setting aside that space isn’t easy. Many farmers in Kenya clear forestland for crops, then set up electric fences to keep larger animals like elephants away.
In one case, The Guardian newspaper in Britain reported a pregnant giant ground pangolin died when she struck an electric fence in November 2022.
“How could one die within my land?” landowner and conservationist Fred Telekwa told the British paper. I am yet to get over the loss.”
Activists fear no more than 80 giant ground pangolins remain in Kenya. But enough farmers care about that to form a conservation trust assigning about eight square miles for the creatures.
Yet some people only care about pangolins for the value of their body parts.
One wildlife protection group estimates one million giant ground pangolins have been poached over the last 10 years. In 2021, that computed to 23.5 tons of pangolins and their parts.
Under Asian tradition, the pangolin’s overlapping scales are considered a medical miracle. They’re used to help mothers feed their babies, while supposedly curing everything from liver problems to hangovers.
Trading in pangolins is illegal by international agreements. Yet Nature India reports in that country alone, 426 seizures between 1991 and 2022 involved more than 8,600 pangolins, 192 of them living.
According to The Cool Down website, Africa has four different pangolin species. Asia has four more.
“Pangolins live remarkable social lives, but are rarely seen due to their nocturnal behavior,” the non-profit website says.
People who didn’t know better might think the pangolin is a pine cone. It curls up like a ball when it’s in trouble, using its tail for self-defense. But conservationists want to do more.
“I feel we are protecting the last of the pangolins,” Beryl Makori of The Pangolin Project said. “We will give all it takes for a protected habitat with a viable population.”

PSA: It ~Can~ Be Done*
Posted 2 years agoIn order to cut down on homelessness, Vancouver has come up with this idea:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mar.....-start-saving/
Story by Lloyd Lee
Fifty homeless people in Vancouver were given a one-time, no-strings-attached stipend of Canadian $7,500 (about US $5,500).
Researchers found that these people spent 99 fewer days unhoused and increased savings.
Initiatives like a universal basic income program in Stockton, California, has shown similar results.
Yet another study shows that poor people didn't squander their money on drugs and alcohol when given cash assistance.
People experiencing homelessness in Vancouver spent 99 fewer days unhoused and saved more money after they were given a one-time unconditional check, a new study found.
Researchers from the University of British Columbia and the Foundations for Social Change nonprofit, which began the project in 2018, tracked the impacts of an experimental universal basic income program in Vancouver over a year.
In the program, 50 people experiencing homelessness were given a one-time stipend of CAD $7,500 — or about $5,500 in US currency — with no strings attached, while another 65 people received no stipend.
The results of the study, which were published on August 29, 2023, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, showed that those who received the stipend spent 99 fewer days in shelters and "55 more days in stable housing."
The results also contradict the public's mistrust "in the ability of homeless individuals to manage the cash transfers," the study said.
With the stipend, people spent more on "durable goods" such as rent, food, and transit, while also generating a net savings of CAD $777 per year by reducing their time in shelters.
In addition, the stipend recipients did not spend more money on "temptation goods," such as alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes, than the group that did not receive the stiped, the researchers found, although they note that spending was measured through "self-reports."
A previous report on the same program claimed spending on those items decreased by 39%, but researchers told Motherboard that the figure was incorrect because it was based on incomplete data.
The researchers acknowledged some limitations in the results: the program did not include those "who are chronically homeless or experience higher severity of substance use, alcohol use, or psychiatric symptom."
The study claimed that certain participants were filtered out to "reduce any potential risks of harm (e.g. overdose) from the cash transfer."
"Regardless of these limitations, this study provides proof of concept for the provision of cash as a new tool to reduce homelessness," the study said.
Similar initiatives involving cash stipends or universal basic incomes have also shown the profound impact of investing in those experiencing poverty.
When the US government spent $6 trillion at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, ramping up social safety programs and providing stimulus checks, the poverty rate in America fell to 7.7% in 2021.
That translated to about 20 million fewer Americans in poverty than in 2018.
One northern California city, Stockton, embarked on a similar universal basic income program in 2019, providing 125 low-income residents with debit cards loaded with $500 each month. There were no spending conditions attached to the income.
Independent researchers found that the program reduced unemployment by 4% during the program's first year, helped pay off debts, and improved the overall mental well-being of the residents.
"I had panic attacks and anxiety," one participant said in the report. "I was at the point where I had to take a pill for it, and I haven't even touched them in a while."
The recipients' spending was also tracked.
Researchers found that a majority of the basic income was spent on food, utilities, auto costs, and trips to Walmart or dollar stores.
Less than 1% of the money went toward alcohol or tobacco.
The reason I point this out is because, the US could certainly be doing this as well, and become a better example of what humanity can be. However, I will not also deny there are other problems if we tried, such as:
* Where would we get the money to do so
* How would we make sure this money is being spent responsibly
* And of course, whether or not the individual we are giving this money to is not going to fall again into the black hole of wanting to stay homeless, use more drugs, etc etc etc.
Still, it is an interesting solution!

An Interesting Question
Posted 2 years agoNot sure if this is on anyone elses mind, considering Colorado just removed TFG from their ballot due to the 14th Amendment, Section 3 which states:
"Section 3
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."
Now my question is this: Let's just say, for arguments sake, that half of the United States remove TFG from the ballot - but the other half keep him on (I can easily see Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky leaving TFG on) - does that mean that TFG cannot run for President at all?
~ Then there is Congress, as seen above, putting in a vote to reinstate TFG on the ballot... *cringe*
~ And the very certain possibility that the Supreme Court will step in and reinstate this crook as well -dies-
Anybody have any ideas?

Its Time I Said Thanks
Posted 2 years agoWell, it is getting near that time again and I wouldn't want to pass up on a Thanksgiving dinner that can't be beat, over at Alice's Restaurant (excepting Alice, of course) :P
But before that...
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am * not * the greatest fur in the entire universe. I am stating for the record, right now: that YES, I am opinionated; I know I can (and have been) be a full tilt a**hole; my 'humor' can be (and have been) misunderstood; I am an unapologetic pervert (and have been in trouble for being/doing same from time to time) and so on and so forth.
So yes, I am going to apologize for all of that, for what it's worth. I don't know if I am going to change any of my 'habits' any time soon, though I try not to repeat the same mistakes that I do make if I can possibly help it.
*coughs* Anyway....
I'd like to thank those that are watching me, and those who like the stuff that I post, even if it is food pron / random stuff I find / etc.
I'd like to thank those that I call friends - and admire quite highly - even though I haven't met them personally.
,
,
,
and those that have passed that I still miss terribly -
and
.
I also want to thank the ladies that I have met on FA who have shown me their kindness and *coughs* other things over the years. The best way to put how I roll is, Im always thankful for full frontal female nudity...especially the RL kind :P
And finally, I'm thankful to
and to FA for having me on here, and being part of the craziness in it for the many years that I've been on here. Here's to the next dramafest *coughs* *coughs* I mean, here's to the continued health of this site!
Thank you to everybody and everyone!!!

~ Music that Im into ~
Posted 2 years ago
I've never really been into classical music (unless you count the old school Warner Brothers and Tex Avery cartoons) but....
~ Chicago (and when they really got started, as the Chicago Transit Authority)
~ Yes (any and all of their albums are superb)
~ the late and still great Stevie Ray Vaughan (I also recommend his "Family Style" album where his brother Jimmy Vaughan is in it)
~ RUSH because I love Geddy Lee, sue me :p
~ Blood Sweat and Tears: because if you -really- listen to their albums / songs, they were ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT in using jazz / band instrumentals in their music
~ Peter Gabriel and any of his stuffs, and throw in the Talking Heads as well
~ Foghat, Mountain, Steve Winwood and again, anything from Fleetwood Mac during the Peter Green era
~ just found out about the "Backbreakers" (blues band) but you also can't go wrong with any of the ladies of the blues like Beth Hart, Shamekia Copeland or my local hun bun Susan Tedeschi...and yes, I still like the gems from Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and even 'Big Mama' Thornton (who Elvis blatantly stole from >_<)
However, in the sake of being open and honest I absolutely loathe/detest/cannot stand Pink Floyd and Neil Young, just UGHHHHHH xd
The Orange Man Went Down To Georgia *PARODY*
Posted 2 years agoTime for another Pangolined Political Parody, though "Randy Rainbow" I'm not :p
Taken from the Charlie Daniels Band!
The Orange Man went down to Georgia
And he was lookin' to make a deal
Forty-one criminal counts in that one state alone
Was enough to make his fake toupee peel
He came across Fani Willis
Filin' all the charges to put him in jail
He'd lie, bully and threaten as if that'd make him bail
"IT'S ALL A WITCH HUNT!" He'd scream the millionth time
Mrs. Willis is done, and its way past time to pay for his crimes
I'd bet he'd say "I guess you didn't know it, but Im the former president too"
Mrs. Willis: "No one's above the law, and this sure applies to you"
Retorting back, he'd say: "The machines were rigged! No one voted for ME!"
Mrs. Willis: "You should know, your cronies tried to fix it, you see!"
Him again: "Well, I'll bet my toupee, I'll be president again and you've been so mean!!"
Mrs. Willis: "That's a threat you're gonna regret, 'cause I'm the best DA you've ever seen!"
Fani you'd better roll up your sleeves and show him around
No one needs this dude to run again and burn this country to the ground
If you win he'll be put away for life
But if you lose it'll just be four more years of grift and strife!
And so the trials will be televised, guess who will be the 'star' of the show
It's scary enough to think he'd be able to run from prison in the know
Grifting as many suckers as he can, just to pay for his defense
With all those charges and with RICO it doesn't make any sense
When the orange man gets finished, I wonder what historians will say
Will he get what he deserves, or will there be hell to pay?
The devil's in the details, as much as I would hate to admit
But to see him walking out scot-free would really make me lose my sh*t!
"Fire at the Trump Tower", run, boys, run!
The Devil's in the state of the peach
Chicken in the bread pan, Fox within reach
Granny, does your dog bite? No, child, no
Sure hope I'll see the orange guy bow his bald head in defeat
The worst president ever been, no need for a repeat
And just remember that with Georgia he isn't done
Because with 5 more states pressing charges he won't see the sun
Of course with DeSantis and company it could be worse
Sure hope we get rid of this "MAGA" curse!
"Fire at the Trump Tower", run, boys, run!

OP *PARODY*
Posted 2 years agoDon't get me wrong, the new policy by FA - Im ok with, though obviously Im not a fan either. (Because all it takes is ONE fur to say "OMG THIS IS CUB / ART WITH MINORS" and then Im banned? WTF?)
BUT now Im seeing these "OP" shenanigans on FA, which I guess is for "Original Poster"...um...is that really necessary when I know that I'm the only one who uses my account and I've been on FA for...um...how long? Really?
THIS IS A PARODY. THE (OP)INIONS OF THIS PANGOLIN ARE HIS OWN.
...So, time to drop my load, arm me with harmony!
OP, how do you explain it
I guess its all in how you frame it
Just dont blame it if you name it
O is for Original, P is for Poster, so dont scratch your keister
But the last word is not that simple, uh,
Its sort of like calling your name the same
And its the same name all the same
Its six letters Im missin' to be clear
Gotta wonder what's the deal here
You got some esplainin' to do 'Neer
Bust it!
You ever wonder if all the rules are posted arbitrarily
Walking back decisions not made really fairly
Wait a day, maybe longer for the drama to all fall out
Tell me tell me tell me 'Neer what its really all about
Then we come back to when the rules are all spelled out
No, its not a front like F to the R to the O to the N to the T
